I remember when Frank took his mask off at the end of the trailer stared straight into the camera and said "Amogus"

What, nerf Iron will and bring survivors down to Ace levels of volume so Jeff and Bill don't sound like bass-boosted gorillas who just inhaled pepper?
I can get behind that.

As much as I'd love to, I have to refuse. I can't take chases seriously in customs, I need the actual game going around me to make decisions where to go and where not.
But if we ever meet in regular game, I'll take you for a ride with pleasure

That's a good question, I don't actually know but I do know that if I run Tinkerer, the gen is usually done by the time I managed to walk myself over there. 😅
Overzealous is only an issue if you don't do totems. I still run Inner Strength sometimes... and gen speed + a 9 second heal is actually pretty good. I don't have Haddie yet though so I haven't actually tried the combination yet.
Well yeah, but that's just anything being awesome if it shares a bunk with Inner Strength. Like getting extra fries if you get the combo meal.
Like.. a frontloaded, storable 21 second solo heal? Hell yeah, sign me up!

Really? I´m the one in this thread who is sounding like he´s insulting? Maybe read the answers i got from this thread again. Just in case.
..yes, actually. You do. You got called biased twice. Up-front without any subtext. Insulting? Probably.
You either backhandedly called him bad or 'politely' implied he was biased/a liar, which is something you seem to agree with.
That last response to you was rude as hell though.
But even if you're returning fire, you're still flinging waste, dude.

Because it sounds nicer than calling someone a lyer or biased? (general statement, not calling anyone biased or a lyer)
I can only judge from the matches i have myself and the matches i occasionally see from some streamers. If he constantly has bad matches, then it might be because:
A) elo hell - a change of build or playing SWF might help
B) not as good as he thinks - watching streamers can improve the skill
C) only perceives the bad matches and not the good ones - taking screenshots of every match and comparing them at the end helps
D) exagerates - the grass on the other side is always greener
E) plays only at times where the mmr might have difficulties in finding the correct teammates/killers - playing at different times can help
Comes with a risk of sounding like a backhanded insult if you don't elaborate to begin with.

They stack though. I still don't see Overzealous much beyond Haddie Adepts but one person with PT and two people with Resilience (plus potentially Spine Chill) is still pretty meta.
Multiplicatively or additively?
Overzealous is an actual time sink unless you do like, 3+ gens. I can see Resilience, but at least it comes with some risk.

I mean we could go through the math if you'd like.
For example, just on pick up, walk to the hook and the animation you lose nearly 25% of a gen lost every.single.time. That is locked animation, nothing you can outplay or improve on, just sunk time. So even on an even 6 hook game you lost a entire gen and half just in locked animation..
Anything longer than a 20 second chase without a hit or a pallet is typically losing you the game as killer. So even at 20 seconds for just a hit or a pallet you are losing 20x3=60 seconds. That's 75% of a gen per hit or pallet, not even a down. For reference most the killer roster can't get a hit or pallet in even 20 seconds against remotely decent survivors. You can hold W and cost him about 10 seconds of that before even playing the loop.
You could even just pre drop every single pallet instantly and have 5 gens done before you run out. There's that much time between break animation and just holding W to catch up again. Nearly 80% of most maps pallets aren't mind gameable against a decent survivor once thrown and require a break for reference.
Just the time to simply walk across the map at the start of the game is nearly 75% of a gen.
The time required for objectives between the two sides is not even remotely in the same playing field.

Prove Thyself, sure. But resilience and overzealous?

^ Facts.
The game is currently balanced around very, very low skill level solo queue survivors. Even in solo queue we win most our matches and when we do lose it's because I or my team played poorly, or someone suicided. None of that is a solo queue issue.
I'd go as far as to say even in solo queue the game is still balanced in favor of survivors and quite significantly at that.
Now that is An Opinion™©®.

Far and away my favorite way to play Nurse is The Downgrade Nurse, to the point that I refuse to play her without Spasmodic Breaths.
I run Spasmodic and one of the other meme addons along with Enduring, Mad Grit, Third Seal, and whatever else is funny at the moment.
You know what no one expects? A 4.6 Nurse who just walks at you. They just run from now-safe loops 'cause they think I'll just teleport on them, but no-- me no M2, me run in and headbutt them.
It works a shocking amount of the time.

People cry because of the nurse.
Then let them show us HOW they play against her.
Then we'll see if they have any legitimacy to complain.
Where you will be fully able and willing to concede that, indeed, she is actually not okay if it turns out that all the counterplay spoken of really doesn't help after all?

Yeah, I’m not in that crowd either. I think statistically Dead Hard increases chances of escape by something like 8% per survivor who has it in a match based on some of the data I’ve seen posted, so it’s not like it’s an automatic win. But it’s definitely way better than basically any other perk in that regard (I think Iron Will was up there? Borrowed Time surprisingly wasn’t but I think that’s because so many killers just assume Borrowed Time is in play they treat all hook rescues like it’s there anyway.)
But yeah, when I lose a match I mostly blame myself for messing up, not the survivor’s loadouts. Player mistskes are by far the biggest deciding factor in winning or losing, not perks.
I didn't think you were, and I also happen to agree.
-
That isn't what a shadow nerf is.

Well, they only appear after a certain amount of gens are done, and other players can steal your green glyphs.

@Plsfix369 said:
SWF's are inherently toxic and unfair NOT SOLOQ. We're just trying our best to have fun and not lose MMR. Heck, I only play with Meme builds and you don't see me complain when I get killed while playing.
When I started out as a killer main (I was originally a Hag main), I noticed that only new killers get scared of leaving hooks and not getting kills because they aren't used to losing. They're scared of not knowing what to do every time, so they do the easiest thing they can think of, but as I've gained experience, I've started to realize that tunnel and camping are only as useful as the other strategies in the game, such as map control, memorizing tiles, practicing looping, and not playing against SWFs. It's practically useless if you don't know what you're doing, and you're not a good killer unless you've practiced what you've learned.
TLDR; Playing a killer is never easy and not for everybody, and you can be great at playing a killer only if you have good analytical skills and critical thinking.
Unfair? Sure. Not toxic. I don't think me playing with my friends and goofing with eachother is toxic.

Yes? why the hell you want to nerf something you can deal with.
Here, let's try this.
Record a video of you going against a nurse.
Did you do bad? Nurse is OP, counterplay doesn't work.
Did you do good? Bad Nurse, wouldn't work against a good one, proves nothing.
You see what I mean? The "proof" means nothing. It's a loaded question with an excuse ready for either outcome. But hey, as luck would have it, I have some too.
If you REALLY want to prove it, let's get the most certifiably godly nurse player and put them in a lobby with the best survivor. Then we have some actual variables.
-
It'll also have the unintended benefit of telling the killer "please this is an addonless brown medkit not a 3 heal purple medkit I just need to use them up for an archive please don't hate me".

If you want to convince us that the nurse is too strong, record a video of you playing against her.
Then we can see if, before you say she's too good, you are competent when you play against her.
Wait, wait, hold on. Let me really activate the almonds about this video.
If you do good against her, nurse is balanced ggez.
If you don't, you clearly just don't know the right counterplay, skill issue.
Am I getting this right?

Top gameplay is incredibly suck and boring on both sides, and feeds into eachother.

Oh no, it's not unreasonable at all. Like I said, it'd be nice if it were easy for both sides.
I dunno, if the devs are truly afraid of survivors surrendering to the killer after grabbing the invitation, maybe it needs a pity system like gacha games. If they die holding an invitation, they leave the match with a shred, and after so many shreds (like three to five) they unlock a mask. Not really a great solution but better than the all or nothing it is right now.
At least survivors don't sparkle for other players after grabbing an invitation. Sparkling in previous events made it impossible to stealth and increased the likelihood of getting tunneled. That sucked.
Someone made a recommendation that you had to get at least bronze in every emblem to get the cosmetic as both killer and survivor.
..which is still exploitable, but I think there's literally no options that will stop the lowest common denominator. At least it's even.
The devs just need to pick their poison and dose us equally.
-
@Akumakaji said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3007776#Comment_3007776
Thats true. But honestly, I think it would repeat itself if all you needed to do was find your invitation and then end the trail. You know how people always gravitate towards the path of least resistance, its just human nature. *shrug*
There's always going to be those kinds of players. I don't remember getting the sparkle glitter for cosmetics being much of a problem with the recent events, though. Just the one halloween event that no one will ever let anyone forget ever again ever.
And besides, if people dedicated to getting the cosmetics ASAP can't suicide on hook anymore.. the next path of least resistance is just grabbing it as killer and standing in a corner. Which isn't exactly a normal healthy match either.
-
@TragicSolitude said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3007794#Comment_3007794
Eh, I mean, it's not "play killer for the entire event," it's just "play killer for 12 matches to unlock the masks." Personally, I had no problem collecting the masks playing solo survivor, but if someone is having problems doing it as survivor and it's so ridiculously easy as killer, then they might as well go with the simple solution. While it'd be nice if it were easy for both sides, with BHVR I think it's more likely they'd make it more difficult for killers to try to balance it out. I prefer it this way, consider it easy mode vs hard mode for collecting masks.
I'm glad you don't have a problem with it, but I don't think it's unreasonable to have people who want to play the event how they want to not get hampered by completely lopsided requirements based on the role they want to play and still be able to progress in it.

Would it be brainless then if it was used ONLY for distance?
Depends. Is it the only loop they could make it to? Could they have made it to multiple, but only that one with distance DH? Did you knowingly go for a loop to make with distance DH?
But more importantly, literally why does it matter if it's brainless or not? It's a thing to use, use it, it's getting changed now, you won't have to worry about it.
People call it brainless to spare their ego. Yeah, you got away or looped me long enough to win the game for you team, but you used Dead Hard, so you didn't really beat me.
-
@TragicSolitude said:
Just play as killer, then. Unlike with the crowns, the rewards given in this event are random and have nothing to do with which character you play as.
Man, it's a certified feels bad that "just play killer" is the only real advice.
I really don't feel like "just play survivor" regarding an event has been or would be completely accepted and uncontested advice.
