They’d never show perks in the lobby. One time they showed ranks and removed it a day after because people were lobby dodging, same would happen with perks.
That's why it's the perfect world and not the "remembering what people in multiplayer games are usually like" world.

Sounds like a better deal for SWF. What about solo Q?
In a perfect world, we could see eachother's perks before the match, coordinate builds, and utilize some sort of chat wheel system to actually get some solid teamwork going.
My fingers are just as crossed as yours, man. It's why I run the "Jesus Christ stop dying" build.

Only reason that DS was buffed to a 5 second stun was because enduring worked on it with the 75% stun reduction. So by the time your feet touched the ground the killer could swing again and down you. Now that enduring hasn't affected the DS stun for what.. 3 years? It's safe to say that it being 3 seconds will be fine.
Yeah, and at the time DS was affected by Enduring, it also didn't deactivate upon doing any action. You were perfectly free to work on a gen for 59 seconds and still get your DS off.
I don't think a 5 second stun with all its current stipulations and deactivation during the endgame is unfair.

It's turning into a mmo. At least build wise.
Sounds like a better deal than everyone just running absolute max survivability to me.
I've been the healer for basically every single one of my games: WMI, WGLF, BT, and Empathy. Would be nice to see other people run something other than the "I don't die ever" build.

We'll need to test it. To compare it to the other new builds.
In any case. This was also a huge buff for SWF.
I could see a particularly.. dedicated SWF getting mileage out of Overzealous by giving one guy the job of being the gen slammer who never gets found.
You are John Totem, go eat Ruin and become the greatest mechanic there ever was.
But I have serious doubts Deja Vu or Overzealous will see any actual play otherwise. Though honestly.. it does seem kind of cool to have an actual dedicated build in a team.
You're the gen doer, you're the runner, I'm the healer, ect.

It's a better version of anti-tunnel perk. People were asking to stop tunneling and camping. Not sure what the problem is.
This ain't gonna stop tunnelling or camping, it's just gonna piss people off. And even if it did, having to run a perk ain't the way to do it.
-
@tester said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3021933#Comment_3021933
And what's the problem here?
It does exactly what they nuked DS for, better, on both hook states, that doesn't go away in the endgame, and can be used far more aggressively. You don't even have to be injured to keep the endurance.
It's stupid abusable and it doesn't make sense from the devs.
-
Wouldn't go that far.
-
60%.
Also, can we start an actual pool? It's hot over here.
-
Oh.
-
Some time in the very, very near future, I can only hope.
-
I couldn't say for sure, as I dare not invoke their forbidden name, 'lest I gain their attention again.

Every double digit post account has something to say about SWF this month, goddamn.

No question it's a bad perk, but in solo it's going to have some utility. Unless the gate spawns are absymal, you will just win the "which gate" back and forth games in the EGC.
Those jerks who like to immerse all game are going to love it.
That said, I'll still never run it.
Yeah, but like.. what did you give up to run Sole Survivor on the assumption that you would be the only one on your team not to die?
In all the situations where i've been the last one alive and the hatch got shut, I can tell you i've had a higher escape chance bribing the killer with my item than I would've with Sole Survivor.
-
@Tsulan said:
Don't worry.
Devs updated Deja Vu to give a 5% repair bonus + Overzealous with a repair bonus that doubles if the survivor cleanses a hex totem.
All stack with Prove Thyself.
Yes, if you sacrifice over half your build, in specific circumstances, specifically cleansing a hex that may or may not be there (assuming no one else gets to it first and you never get hit, any more than one would be a dead perk), you may even out with the extra 50 seconds of gens you have to do.
I don't think this is the genrush update.
-
@Laluzi said:
Agreed. As it stands, we're just going to be replacing one meta perk with another. There is zero reason to run DS with the current changes; it won't dissuade a killer from tunneling straight through it, and OTR is better in every way with its 2-off activation, bodyblocking potential, and actually working in endgame.
I'm a little concerned with how little the basekit changes did to address tunneling. Basekit endurance makes camping less effective, but 5s and a tiny speed increase is nothing to tunneling and saving yourself from it still 100% mandates bringing a second chance perk.
It did very little to address tunneling and even less to address camping-- if not making it more effective.
I'm just more baffled that they laid out the exact reason DS was problematic (triggering in the endgame), nerfed it accordingly, slapped a harsher nerf on it just 'cause.. then proceeded to replace it with a perk that works for both hook states, even better, that doesn't deactivate in the endgame.
They really have to fix both.
-
They could make it 500% and it'd still be useless.
If you have to run a perk on the assumption that all your teammates are going to die, it's a bad perk.
-
@Sonzaishinai said:
I think people are kinda underestimating the whole 5 seconds thing
It's not just 5 seconds of endurance. But a speed boost on top of it that makes normal killers roughly half as fast to catch up
But also more importantly you are faster then other survivors. It should be very easy for the unhooker to get in a position to bodyblock.
You should in most scenario's be able to reach a tile. At which point all is fair game in my book
Especially if you concidder some of the new perks
It's definitely not nothing, but it's still something that SWFs are most certainly going to get more use and coordination out of.
I was hoping for more of something specifically meant to bridge the Solo/SWF gap, like.. some auras, status icons, something informational.

Which 60% is the remaining time for the M1 cooldown. 54 is surely lower than 60.
I dont remember the exact time, but you get it.
60% of 3 seconds is 1.8, 60% of 2.7 is 1.62.
Not a lot more, but still almost half of the base attack cooldown.
-
What, if he doesn't hit you with a reverse backwards z-glide moon hug 480 turbo grind ollie walltech he's a trash blight?
-
As amusing as it is to have OTR be the ultimate "Fine, i'll do it myself" of BT, 80 seconds is absolutely nuts.
They really just need to have the Endurance status remove your collision.
-
@Nazzzak said:
I'm *trying* to reserve judgement until PTB comes out. I'm a casual player and have a pretty average escape rate, and that's with only one meta perk (Iron Will). I don't really see anything in this update that will increase my chances of doing well as a solo player, but I see plenty that will certainly decrease it.
I mean.. ideally, there's some kind of change from now to PTB, and from PTB to Live.
There's absolutely 0 way OTR makes it to live the way they say.
But it ain't looking good.
@Bwsted said:
They were silent on that front. Safe to assume the answer is no.
I hope they're quietly workshopping something instead of sitting in a fire and telling everyone it's fine.
It really wouldn't be that hard to give Solos something.
-
Personally? I think kobes and struggling should just be plain removed. No way to remove yourself from the game 15 unattended seconds on the hook.
But if those were kept, you could possibly allow the killer to open the exit gate at any point of the match-- but every gen still powered adds an additional amount of time to the action. Maybe like.. 10 seconds per gen, so you have to hold it for a straight 50 seconds to open the gate at the beginning. Make it real goddamn boring to disincentivize immediately going for the gate after stunned. Make it so the survivors can't depip after the gate is opened like this, maybe a couple extra bloodpoints.
-
Just, like.. anything. You know? Literally anything to close the info gap a tiny bit with SWF.
Or just something that SWF wouldn't use ten times more effectively.
But queue up with friends or perish I guess.
-
Because not vaulting the pallet = dying in a lot of situations.
-
This feels like something I would write.

survivors in general to have most of their toys gutted. I hope they gut you all more. You enjoy being in bully squads, you enjoy making the game not fun for killer mains, you enjoy trash talking, you enjoy tbagging every chance you get, you enjoy making the game more toxic than it needs to be. You caused this problem by being bigger villains than the actual killers are, and that says something. You've had your way for so long that now that your over powered bs toys are getting touched you all start crying. I really hope they completely gut all of your perks if this is the reaction it gets, it's so satisfying seeing all of these crying posts. Welcome to what killer has been dealing with for literally years at this point.
Imagine people thinking you're real.

I love playing Hag, and do a pretty unique style with her (no traps near hooks, but I poop traps wherever I go), running Surge, Monitor, STBFL, Devour Hope. Holy crap does this work well as soon as I get momentum. If I know it's going to be a tough game (I see an obvious SWF with fancy skins) I drop STBFL for Corrupt.
Man, wouldn't that be nice.. every time I go against a Hag, it's business as usual after every hook.

I see it, as well as suicides. He's a bit like Doctor and Trickster - people just hate playing against him.
Unfortunate.
The only killers I get a vague possible potential inkling of an idea that maybe I don't really want to play this match out in full is against a Hag or a Nurse who's doing her Nurse thing at 5 gens.
-
I want them to nerf it.
Just for fun.
-
Who the hell DCs against Legion anymore? I practically throw myself at them to hear the chase theme.
-
Make her work for it, at least.
-
Legion. I always raked my friend over the coals for maining a killer as weak as The Leg, then I realized they fit my preferred unga bunga caveman playstyle perfectly.
And then I got Hag, who I also thought i'd hate.
And I did.

So how come they fired a few killer ones who expressed their frustration with SWF?
They weren't """"fired"""" because they had problems with SWF, they were fired because they got swept up in controversy, and whether or not they're guilty of anything they don't want that around them.
-
Yes.
And it's excellent.

Control schemes you're not used to look and feel completely alien, to the point you can barely even imagine it.
I don't even have to think about my PC controls, but if you handed me a Xbox controller, i'd be missing skill checks left and right.
-
Second Survivor match of the day, a teammate DC's early and the killer stands in front of the hatch just long enough to let me think he'll give it to me before hooking me right beside it and slamming shut it in my face.
It's an experience.
