The DS stun was originally 3 seconds. They buffed it to 5 because Enduring affected it. When the Enduring bug was fixed they "forgot" to revert the stun duration back to the original.
This stun duration change is just reverting to the original. It also brings it in line with pallet stuns.
Actually, the original stun duration was 5 seconds. Then 4. Then 3. Then 5 again. All of which times it was monumentally stronger than it is now, and never deactivated if you did anything.
So what this tells us is that DS's stun duration is variable and shouldn't necessarily be decided by what it was. Because in that case, it SHOULD be 5 seconds, right?

Called it.

I'm at 4, what is that supposed to mean?
One of the great mysteries of life, my friend.
-
And now you're at 4.
Wonder how many more you got before the inevitable ban.
-
Wow.
I thought the distance loss on the new DS was going to be pathetic, and it turns out I was a bit optimistic on that one.
-
This is your, what, third thread of refusing to acknowledge the base-game killer buffs as things that actually exist?
-
I like Hillbilly because he gives me an excuse to do a silly voice.

Nope, but we'll waste your time a little bit more, and that's a nice improvement.

If I can't give up on hook I'll just run at the killer or AFK. Play Uno on my phone until I'm out. Ppl who don't wanna play the game, won't. Whether it's inconvenient or not. I'm playing solo queue. If I'm doing all this work just to see the other survivors are doing nothing. Crouched up in a corner somewhere. Or it's a killer I genuinely hate going against (Legion, Nurse, etc.) Trust I'mma get outta that game one way or another.
Quite frankly, i'd like to make it as difficult and grueling for you as humanly possible.
-
Don't start a match you're not ready to see through.
-
Nah, he's awesome.
He makes me play different, makes me keep an ear out, makes me aware of my surroundings. I like it.

Finally, someone brave enough to say it.

I get what you're saying but we can't really do anything about it. People are going to do it no matter what.
I know, but i'm still gonna point and laugh.

Some people don't like certain killers and want out. It is what it is.
I absolutely hate the Hag and if I had the chance to never get matched up against her again, i'd take it in a heartbeat.
Know what i'm not gonna do?
Kill my team by ragequitting. I've accepted the very, very unfortunate possibility of Hag when I queue up, and i'm still gonna make her goddamn fight for it. If it was such mortal soul-wounding pain to go against any killer on the roster, I wouldn't play the damn game.
-
It'd be very interesting to see.
Imagine having a survivor like Patrick Bateman-- a guy you'd think would be a killer, evil enough to be a killer, but deemed by the Entity not important enough to be one and instead relegated to be more meat for the trials.

Well if the 7% speed boost from the new BT and basekit BT stack with the post-hit speed boost, this should stop that from happening.
Bubba is fast, man.
7% won't mean much to him. A solid sweep will still, in all likelihood, catch up.
If I can pull it off, no way anyone's getting away from an experienced Bubba.

It shouldn't do. And if it does, you've very badly misplayed.
The first hit of the chainsaw will send you sprinting away from him. You shouldn't get hit by the 2nd swing.
Hell I've gone against camping bubbas without any hook trade at all. I've miraculously dodged the chainsaw myself, while the survivor I unhooked got hit with BT and sprinted away with a deepwound.
I've seen, and experienced, and committed, a Bubba sweep that procs the endurance speed boost and caught up to them near the end.
It's very possible, and not that hard to pull off.

Mains are cringe.
Don't be one, kids.

His ADS got the Pyramid Head Nerf so he couldn't just "quick scope" survivors. What puzzles me is they increased his TR when he has a very short "mid" range attack....his lower TR went with his background as a bounty hunter.
I know why they nerfed his ADS. I don't know why they nerfed his TR, though.
..well, I do know why. M&A. But he's not invisible, you can still see him. And if you get shot from 18 meters.. well, you got shot from 18 meters.
-
Much quicker reloads, instant reload on hook, 24 meter terror radius, quicker recovery from broken chains, faster during ADS.. honestly, Deathslinger spends so much of the match reloading. Huntress takes like, what, 4 seconds to reload 5 hatchets that instantly damage? Deathslinger takes 2.75 to reload one shot that still needs to be reeled in?
I don't really have a problem with the ADS, though.

N O P E

Nah. Grab games are fun.

I don't know if it's really that hard to like, put them all through a sound mixer and adjust 'till even.

Can't wait to drag single games past the 35 minutes threshold
Can you imagine being the poor guy who self-cares for like.. 50 seconds against Legion, only to be stuck with a 30% repair speed penalty because your teammates won't heal?
I'd hate to be that guy. I probably will hate being that guy
-
You changed the UI to accommodate new features to it easier and decided not to do anything with it, BHVR?
-
Yup. Have to grab the invite 60 seconds after either finishing a gen or hooking someone.
I got unfathomably lucky and my first hook was literally right next to an invitation the first time I tried this challenge.
-
Not for me. I'm gonna unlock a LOT of perks on a LOT of killers that I don't need to blow hundreds of thousands of bloodpoints fishing for anymore.
-
Look, the rule is simple.
If you wait 'till after the hook to open the gate, they don't have blood warden.
If you don't wait until after the hook to open the gate, they have blood warden.
Schrodinger's Blood Warden is a mindgame all of its own.
-
Damn.
-
Give us that kind of information and fix maps and we'll be..
Well, not golden, but definitely in a much better place.
-
A: enter key.
B: commas.
C: playing multiplayer games with bad internet is generally a losing move.
-
Nightfall is awesome. Having to listen for his low droning through the voices is tense, and I love how they cry out and stop briefly when the Dredge does actions.
He's doing something. I don't know what, but something's happening out there, and if I don't listen carefully it could be happening here. It's great.
-
I always love going against a good Billy, Huntress, shockingly Spirit now, and Oni. One of us is gonna be doing something absolutely mad.
I don't like going against a very good Nurse, as I generally prefer this not to be a singleplayer game, and Freddy and Hag put me in a special kind of pain.
-
As a nothing main, stop being a main.
You come to silly conclusions like this.
-
Why does Wraith get absolutely beaned by Flashlights while Nurse gets extremely mild skin irritation, for that matter?

Yes. I’ve had it happen twice today. Two in front and two behind. It seems they may get extra points for the “Evader” emblem, but I’m not sure.
That sounds like literally none of them are playing the game.
Can I trade matches with you? That sounds hilarious.

That’s true to a degree, but still drives me insane because of Total lack of protection from abuse it has. 4 survivors flash lighting you after a pallet stun is about 40 seconds of pain.
..I mean.
Does it happen often that all four survivors are flashlighting you at a pallet?
Is that worse than the dude just running after the pallet drop while everyone just pumps gens?

I don't know how you managed to invent that problem to have with someone, but I admire your creativity.

Go back further.
Sizzlingmario said that it will encourage survivors to camp the hatch rather than make a rescue attempt.
I said NOED does the same thing for killer.
Lazuli said that making rescue attempts is the survivor's role.
I said that survivors can look out for themselves. They don't have to rescue.
Then people started taking that as me justifying survivors doing nothing the whole match.
Huh. In the space of those two posts, that is what it looks like.
In my defense, few things get the crack rage going like that steam store quote.
-
Me, personally, I'm looking forward to Thana Gift of Pain.
Injured? Slowdown. Heal? Takes longer, and STILL slowed down.

I’m sorta venting at the moment GCP, had six matches in a row with nothing but flashlights and pallet goblins. Plus a few damn flash grenades on top of my already blinded self.
Almost each and everyone of the players was also yelling at me for running NOED on me level 15 Gunslinger.
Flashlights are an item, NOED is a perk, both are meant to be used. People who yell at you for using things are dumb and can be ignored.
If more people yell at you, send 'em my way so I can personally point and laugh at them.

I was. Otherwise it would be off topic
It sounded like a straight-defense of the tactic of "waiting for your teammates to die" tactic with the quote from the manual/store, which was actual slow suicide at the time of statement because the hatch literally didn't exist.
Unless I'm wrong and that isn't what you meant, but I'm pretty sure this is the way words are supposed to flow.
-
Whuh.
-
Calling it Biohazard is an alpha move.
My favorite part of the chapter is the possibility of finding all the leg they shaved off of Nemesis to make him fit in the game.
I plan on using them to make myself even taller.

Unhooking the 1 other survivor in front of the proxy killer is not going to let either of us survive
You weren't talking about that. You specifically brought up the "looking out for themselves" part in response to him saying that survivors waiting for their team to die to get hatch wasn't them performing their role.
Yeah, duh, overaltruism kills teams. That's not looking out for yourself, that's not playing like an idiot.
But you weren't talking about that.

I'm quoting the in-game manual.
Main Menu> Getting Started> Game Manual> The Game> Assymetry
At no point of this game's life cycle was it not a team game.
The only ways a survivor can survive while "looking out for themselves" were implemented after these statements solely to end the game quicker. LoOkInG oUT FoR number one usually just gets everyone killed.
You know what's a game that you really could just "look out for yourself"? Friday. There were like 5 different escape methods at any given time and nothing stopped you from taking the 4 seater and driving off. You evem got an achievement for it.
How about we listen to Dwight instead:
"I need you to survive so I can survive!"
-
@Nos37 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3026475#Comment_3026475
Their role?
"The Survivors are a team of 4. They can choose to cooperate or to look out for themselves."
If anyone quotes the steam page, so help me.
-
I don't know about subtle, but I went up against a Michael who went from far terror radius to fusing our hitboxes together in about 3 seconds, in T3 with no terror radius or movement speed changers. In Hawkins, no less.
-
Godspeed.
