Empathy, We'll Make It, We're Gonna Live Forever.. becoming an 8 second heal and 4 second ground pickup dispenser is nothing to sneeze at.
So much so that it's my current go-to build.

Ds should be disabled if during its duration the killer hits or gets in chase with any other survivor. because then you arent tunneling.
Hit the unhooker, beeline for the unhooked.
You wouldn't even have to wait for the unhooked survivor to touch the ground, DS activates the moment they start coming off the hook. They could have it deactivated the instant they get it, because the killer hit the only person who could be injured at that moment. It wouldn't be hard at all to force.
I don't know how I feel about this change.

She actually is put into the same tier as Blight, by the way, and you'll run into more Blight's than you do Nurse. Fun fact!
..no?
Nurse has never had any contention for the spot of best killer. Ever. At any point in the game's life since she's been introduced. It hasn't even been close.

You can choose to not be matched with potatoes, and you can actually coordinate. Those are the big pros of SWF, and they're pretty massive ones.
But it can't ever be removed. Despite wishful thinking. Or wasteful demanding.

You don't understand that this game's matchmaking is strictly built upon that concept. If I don't play the game, the MMR cannot adapt. Naturally it'll take MANY games to give it enough input about the performance of each respective killer. However this process is apparently taking too long and it's especially frustrating during an event where survivors seem to sweat like there's no tomorrow. You're simply devoid of empathy.
No no, I have plenty of empathy. What I find myself sorely lacking for you in this scenario is patience.
You don't endure anything. This game isn't inflicted on you, you choose to play it. And unlike any other scenario, I'd hope, you refuse to stop doing something you don't seem to enjoy that you're under no obligation to do, and demand that things be changed because that's what you deserve. For wrongs inflicted.
You don't deserve anything from this game. I don't. None of us do. If I don't like it, I'll drop it, and move on, as I do with any other entertainment. As you should if you don't. That is honest advice, before you ask how I dare say such a thing to you.
Whether it's a bed of nails or feathers, you still made the bed. Choose what you want to lie in.

Just to highlight its not feeling that way about bleeding out that's disingenuous but rather wanting to be afraid of strong killers rather than them wasting your time.
A lot of what makes killers strong is going to feel like its wasting your time because its designed to take you out of the game via non-participation and elimination.
So do you really want strong killers or protections from the things that make killers strong?
Now, from the discussion I'm willing to admit that I might have got it wrong because if you are cool with getting wiped out at game start because the killer crushed you with a strong power, then kudos that's some strong killer action there.
But many of the things that make killers strong can also be leveraged in ways that may waste your time. Its kinda taking the good with the bad and I'd rather make that compromise than have weaker killers overall. Is kinda my point.
Its very common to see comments that qualify a statement i.e. "I don't just want easy wins" but then use it to frame a point/argument that would result in just that, easy wins. Nothing wrong with saying hey I want this but don't try and frame it as something its not, I'd happily admit in this case you didn't do that.
This discussion has been fun. 👍️
My one and only problem is a completely won and over game being unnecessarily prolonged for as long as possible to keep us from moving on out of spite. A killer using their strengths to waste time to secure the win is completely fine. The problem starts once the win is definitively secured and one person uses their sole position of power to prevent you from getting to the next match and wasting your time if you don't want to eat a DC penalty.
That's all I have to say.

You don't like bleeding out because you feel its a waste of time, you are allowed to feel like that, but its part of the game so you should expect it to happen from time to time.
Personally it doesn't bother me one way or the other because its just part of the game it happens. If my time is going to be 'wasted' as you put it I'd rather it be thematically wasted which bleeding out is.
Would you try your hardest to avoid being slugged and bled out if it was the only death option?
Would the insidious threat of the game ending like that make it more or less thrilling to play?
Just something to think about.
EDIT: I think we have strayed far enough from the OP's topic.
I mean. Am I allowed to feel that if me feeling that is disingenuous?
And if that was the only death option, I and the vast majority of the playerbase wouldn't be playing the game.
But yes, it has strayed.

If your response to the problem is to "simply not play the game" then you've already failed. There's no attempt here to find a genuine solution, this is just another way of saying "uninstall DbD". You're hardly any better than these survivor players who focus on ruining any last shred of joy the killer might be able to extract from this game by insulting them over their inability to compete in the Entity's realm.
All I want is some bonus bloodpoints as a last bit of solace, it's obviously very hard to create a space for casual players like me who don't want to sweat every single match by picking the same handful of perks over and over again while limiting myself to a pair of killers. Infact I keep rotating my killers after every match, that's how I keep it fresh.
Do you genuinely expect to find a solution by wailing to the sky that you aren't compensated enough to play this game for fun that is, by all definitions and logic, optional?
If it's so agonizing, leave. If you don't, you're addicted. In no other place or situation would this be a contradictory or strange statement, but for you, evidently, it's a call to arms.
Tell us that the state of killer is poor all day, and i'll agree to you. Tell me what you deserve for subjecting yourself to it, and i'll point and laugh as you walk into the low-hanging steel beam all day.
And as a side note.. "Hard to create a space for casual players like me who don't want to sweat"
If you want to win, you have to try harder. You can't play casual and fun and not serious and then complain that you lose. That isn't how it works.

I see, you're supporting this type of harassment then. I guess you're one of these people who type "gg ez" to make sure the killer-pool shrinks even more. It's apparently too much to ask for some respect and proper matchmaking around here.
No no, no. You sorely misunderstand. I'm not talking about killers, or survivors. I'm talking about you.
No one is forcing you to play. No one says that you must play 10 matches of Dead by Daylight matches to eat today. If killer is such apparently agony that you say you don't get compensated, for what you endure, and you're still here?
You have failed the self-responsibility challenge. Completely and utterly. I agree that killer can most certainly be better. But I have sympathy for the state of killer, I don't have sympathy for you.

I didn't say it was a lie to cover up you wanting weak killers, that implies intent to deceive which is not the goal...
What I mean by "I don't believe you" is you say you want to be afraid of strong killers but I think that's a disingenuous sentiment.
Because you, and many players, seem to be very anti the tools strong killers have, simply because those tools can be used for tactics that players might find annoying but overall are just gameplay, often very thematic gameplay.
Obnoxious play is often frowned upon and there is a lot of it I'm not a fan of either, but its still just gameplay and while its within the bounds of the rules people are free to do it if they wish.
The big problem with online gaming is people let events in the game upset them and that spills out into the real world with people abusing each other over something as silly as a game mechanic.
The bleed out timer is the solution to lying on the ground a player is under no obligation to hook you. I mean lets try and cook up a solution that isn't just an exploitable mess.
You get to stand up for free if slugged for too long?
Shorten the bleed out time so its really quick?
Maybe for each slugged survivor the bleed out timer shortens that way if you are all 4 slugged out then it ends quicker?
Let people suicide on the ground? (maybe after 1 min of bleed out? if all 4 are slugged?)
None of these options are very good.
Oh, i'm not a liar, i'm just willfully deceptive. The distinction is appreciated.
I mean, we can both apparently agree that slugging to win and slugging to bleed people out are different scenarios. And I said a couple times that I don't like the latter scenario. Because it's a completely unnecessary timewaster, you could just end the game right there, but you won't out of spite.
But that apparently means I can't be okay with the former scenario.
No, dude. If a blight slugs us to clean out the game at 5 gens and hooks us? That's fine. At least the game's, you know, over. Quick and efficient. Slugging's fine. I don't know why I can't be okay with slugging if I don't smile and say "aw, shucks!" when someone has a power trip and bleeds me out. I have a problem with people in Hearthstone waiting 74 seconds of their 75 second turn timer before hitting the "end turn" button every turn so their timer never gets reduced. Do I have a subliminal problem with people having turns?
I don't know what a perfect, non-exploitable solution to bleeding out would be (my solution is, if everyone is on the ground with no possibility of being picked up, reveal all survivor's auras and let them bleed out 10 times faster after a minute), but I would dare to say the current system is pretty damn exploitable already. Because people are merrily doing it.
-
@Akumakaji said:
Another solution: don't be a d*ck to the killer. I have actually never been slugged for playing normal, but seen it a few times done when spectating. Most of the times they were really good, but also BMing the killer at every opportunity. Not saying that there aren't any really mean spirited killers out there, but I would recon that most normal games a killer wouldn't waste their own time just to ruin some random strangers gaming experience? At least not enough that it would be a real problem.
Of all games, you trust in the goodwill of DbD players to not do something awful without provocation?
People would 4k bleedouts with or without an excuse. I've experienced plenty.
An option to bleed out faster would be really nice.

I'm extremely chill, and kicked up another chill notch for the event - but SBMM is completely busted right now.
I'm an intermediate player, usually facing other 700-1000 hour people, but now it's 3000 hour people in SWF murder squads situation, game after game, who immediately split up perfectly on gens with BNP toolboxes, and even with me downing them in a decent time, I'm still at 1 gen left before the 5 minutes mark. Or it's a duo with event flashlights abusing double lockers to be unhookable. Or it's a 4man SWF with 1 further hook offering, 1 Eyrie offering, 1 mist offering and 1 flan who keep that one area by the shack unhookable with a sabo and always run there.
I really don't like playing super hard, but it's that or get 0k and have an entire group teabagging me in the exit gates and mocking me in postgame, which I don't appreciate.
On the other side, I'm seeing just as many BM, camping killers as before, if not more.
This event is really grating my cheese. Somehow, it's brought out the worst in people.
Probably a chicken/egg situation. A survivor gets camped by a killer that just got stank by a group far beyond their skill level and BMed, and goes on to be nasty to the next killer, who passes it on to their next opponents.
Yup. And then everyone screams that no, not their chicken, their chicken would never start anything, it was those damn eggs.
When the actual answer is holy actual God who cares, it couldn't be proven even if it was important.

i only remember collecting about 5 of them. and i cant check all manually because i dont own a majority of the characters. Only lets me browse their shop catalog not what i own for them
I'm pretty sure you can fiddle with a character's catalogue to make it show event items. Is there a sort button?
I'm not at home right now, so I can't check.

As far as I know, as long as you collect the invitation and finish the match, regardless of kills, you get a mask. It's probably a bug if you didn't.
Have you gotten them all? Have you checked both your survivors and killers?

I guess its sometimes hard to judge from the survivors perspective. I go for 8 hooks and don't try to sacrifice anyone, unless they are super obnoxious. When I got someone on deathhook and chase them, but don't down them, just breathing down their neck, they wisen up, but before that its "panic! The killer is going all in! Ahhhhhh!!1".
I had a situation were I downed two survivors in front of one of the gates, put them both on their second hook ... and then the others just left ^^ Felt bad, but what ya gonna do? With all the sweat going on this event you can hardly blame them, especially if they wanted to save their invites.
Yeahh. So far, none of my survivors games have had a killer go for anything less than total blood. I'd love to see a chill killer, I always try to be one for events.
I could just be very, very unlucky, but it doesn't seem like it, and I don't blame survivors for not taking chances.

Yeah I’d agree there is a distinction to those two scenarios. One is definitely less player friendly.
That said while I’d rather hook everyone because it’s more points, I’d never be annoyed if someone else chose not to and let folks bleed out because hey it’s thematic.
When that happens I try to crawl away and hide as best I can. If I’m the last one to bleed out I may get a lucky hatch spawn. It has happened before which was really gratifying.
I’m still in play so I’m gonna play the best I can with what I have.
Okay, then why does "I don't want to be afraid of the killer because he might waste my damn time for no reason" become a lie to cover up the fact that I want weak killers?

And the other 23? killers?
Thats why we have this event and a new killer and surv rather than perk fixing as a priority. Thats why we have had lots of communications about what they are going to do with swf v solo balance.
Wait.
The existence of killers that can match top tier SWFs sort of implies that these killers are to solos what SWFs are to the rest of the killers.
Which lends less credence to BHVR twirling their mustaches as they grind killers through the gravel and more to them not knowing what the hell they're doing and desperately keeping to their timeline while they pick their steps in a minefield.

They're not unbeatable they just help skew the ability to have some form of balance in the game.
And the fact the developers refuse to do anything about this just says were their priorities are. Making money.
Yes, it's a conspiracy to make money at the expense of killers. That's why Nurse and Blight have been taken down so SWFs don't have any competition and spend more money.

Who said I was complaining? I’m just trying to farm BP for my less fortunate killers at the most efficient I can. So instead of throwing a fit and coming on here to say “Why survivors being try hards!” Or “Why can’t I win!” I decided to take a different approach by telling everyone on how I’m dealing with it proactively. Which in this case is a build that counters a lot of problems I saw killers having. That’s why I had such a long message. So people can see the perk and why it’s useful.
You literally had one bad game before you decided to become a wartime general.

No. You don’t get to equate an anecdotal bad game to the avalanche of toxic killer games. 90% of the toxicity in this game is camping/tunnelling killers. Killers act like every game is a SWF gen rush with flashlights. No. I have 10k+ hours in this game, most as a solo. They’re almost all 3k and 4ks because matchmaking is terrible. Killers get huge amounts of easy games from bad matchmaking, afks, dcs, etc, and then toss in the incredible amount of camping and tunnelling and then toss in the number of games where they run their S and A tier killers with (or even without) their top addons… please lets not perpetuate this myth of the poor beat up killer.
There’s simply no need to face camp, camp, tunnel… ESPECIALLY during an event where everyone earns tons more if you just knock off the toxicity.
