I'm glad sabo is back in business. A lot of players, including True say slugging is a very boring gameplay, but I appreciate those funny moments when I carry a survivor and in the last moment, another just drops the hook right in front of me. This needs a bit of skill and good timing, I can respect that.
Not a winning strategy, since there are no gens done, but still a fun one. -

LF is one of the killer that benefits the least from BBQ and his chainsaw is pretty bad, since you have to piggyback ride the survivor to get him, because of the slowdown while revving.
And on top of that, most of his add ons are bugged and no Dev seem to care to fix anything.Which of his addons is bugged? I'm guessing you mean Chilis, but they actually work, it's just that their effect is not that great.
Or is there something I don't know about? -

I love how the Spirit was named a "trash tier killer" by a lot of people after release, but now she's "OP no skill killer"
You know that the peoples complaining about her back then are not the usual toxic bully who will whine "OP" the moment they lose.
Those one got Freddy nerfed, while the one complaining for Rin got her changed to be VIABLE.
At least be honest about it.
I'm not talking about those who wanted a slight buff, I agree that 20 seconds was a bit too much and the haunting sound had to be fixed too. But a lot of players just outright discarded her as "yet another trash tier killer" (2-3 days into the PTB too, that was the most ridiculous part about it). She wasn't trash, even back then.
Now, she rules. Definitely took the gold medal from Myers in the jumpscare olympics. -

Could cover all three in the space of twenty seconds, 15 if I used my Haunting (I main Spirit).
Took them 15 minutes to begin trying to work a gen, only for me to catch them and down them both. Get them on hooks, game ends, get a message telling me I sucked at the game and needed to learn not to camp.
Like, what was I supposed to do? Stay AWAY from the gens? Also they said Spirit was for no skill kitties.

Exactly. Dribbling, dribbling plus a Mori, slugging, Enduring, Rancor... just a short list of counters to DS. If you're new, I suggest you don't listen to all these whiners prattling about DS, NOED, camping, tunneling, flashlights etcCardgrey said:So I have only been playing a few months and I don’t understand what the ds issue is... isn’t that what dribbling and slugging is for?

Look at them whiners. The long killer queues were bad and I didn't like the rampant farming either, but aside from these, it was a fun event. Liked the load of extra BP, the free cosmetics, and the experimentation with secondary objectives.
Glad it's over: too much farming in cooperation with the killer is not fun if prolonged, but otherwise, it was a good event.
So funny to see players silly complaints about the direct opposite: "they didn't want to farm" and "everyone farmed". The latter has some merit, but it's not such a big deal. -
Did he actually kill you and your parents next day though? If so, that should be punished with a 72 hour ban.
Otherwise, it's just some stupid angry teenager talking #########. Just have a good laugh about it and keep playing. -
Actually, it would be so nice if everyone here made a search before post a new thread. Forums like this get flooded by everyone wanting to have their say but unwilling to read what others wrote.Khalednazari said:
What's with all the necro'ing, if I may ask?ModernFable said:A part of the problem is that there's a lot of incentive to stay. You can still get Emblem and Blood Points by staying, especially if the killer chases you out.
You can't get Blood Points from sabotaging after the gens are done, so something similar could be done.
Just think about camping killers or DS. Almost literally every day a new thread is started about this two topics. Interesting ideas tend do get lost in the cacophony. -
I used to hate it too, but I came to terms with it: it doesn't take too long to hit them and force them out. Teabagging makes it more annoying, but we just have to deal with that.
What's much more annoying and possibly borders holding the game hostage is hiding somewhere else when gates are already opened, and not doing #########. Some survivors want to get the hatch, which is bad enough, but the worst kind really just wants to ######### with you.
This is rare though, so I don't think it's such a big deal. -
Another day, another thread about camping. You're right though.
-
That's right, you'll probably have to sue them.
Jesus Christ, we're talking about virtual items purchased for virtual currency in a virtual world. Just let it go. It's not like all of our characters don't have loads of brown addons and offerings we're never going to use. -
You don't have to use all of them the same time... except when going for Adept Shape achievement. They're all great perks, if used properly.
PWYF is basically only used for Evil Incarnate achievement, though I think it's also useful if you use Scratched Mirror and go for grabs - if I'm not mistaken, grabs don't count as offensive actions. -
Geez, is this worth starting a thread?
-
I don't know about that. I find myself more and more curious lately: what would it feel like to remove someone's face with a chainsaw? Like, seriously. Must be such a unique experience.mercilessone said:None because it’s just a game, it shouldn’t make you want to physically hurt someone -

I hardly ever do hard camping, but in the few games where I spent long time around a hooked survivor and not in a chase, emblem details showed -1 or -2%. So it's not a big deal.
As it shouldn't be. Camping has its advantages occasionally. And like yeet said, play any way you want: you're playing AGAINST survivors, not FOR them. Anything that's not cheating, lagswitching or extreme trash talking in endgame chat is cool.If you sit the whole game infront of the hook, the loss of points is insane.
INsidious leatherface is pretty much dead (at least if you want to rank up)I tested this already and I onyl got bronze emblem because the last 2 survivors did gens isntead of suiciding for saves

-
@MegaWaffle you summarized a lot quite nicely, but the implied solutions... I just gotta react to that, particularly about moderation. That's just a no. Cheating and DC-s, these are the only things that require bans or other sanctions, but chat moderation is such a horrible idea.
I agree most people who are offensive only act this way because they think they're anonymous (which is only partly correct, plus it's cowardly). I wish we all went China and required real name registration everywhere, but it's not gonna happen. Even so, I very strongly feel that what we call "moderation" is a euphemy for censorship. It's a wrong approach to try to protect "sensitive" people from being offended. It will just make them weaker. They really should just deal with it: there are simple ways of that, blocking them or just ignoring those who annoy you. Really, and that goes to the OP too: if one cannot deal with online bs, how does he fare in life??
And the rank system needs to be fixed too. It would be so simple... if the devs just gave up trying to manipulate players into playing in a certain style, it'd be so much more clear. 0-4 kills mean -2 to +2 pips for a killer. Survivors, that's not that simple, they should keep some of the current emblem points, but 80% of the final result should just depend on whether they escaped or not. No BP for hook saves either: a gameplay where you can't succeed without cooperation would force you to save teammates early on, otherwise you have much less of a chance to escape, but it would encourage a "just get the hell out" attitude towards endgame, which would be much better for a horror game.
Of course this would result in much more tryhard playstyles, but that's why I completely agree we'd need a casual mode, open to anyone and ranked version which would be ruthless. But that would be a good thing.
Umm, didn't originally wanted such a long post. Anyway, that's how I see it. -

As I don't have too much time to play DbD anymore but I want to get one of those event outfits is there any way as a survivor to not get camped every time and farm a little bit of those plants? The progress is too slow and as killer I have too wait long to find games. Two things: use Empathy, and keep a low profile until someone is injured. You'll see their auras: if they're far away, it's time to milk some juice or get on a generator. Let others do the saves too.
Second: don't run any Obsession perks. With some luck, the killer may find the Obsession first (if there's one), in this case you don't even have to wait for someone to get hit, you can simply see their icon showing they're being chased. -
No... If you come across it first, the worst thing to do is camping it. No easier way to inform survivor about its location, it inevitably leads to another boring hatch standoff.friendlykillermain said:@George_Soros said:

@friendlykillermain why do you think there's a problem with the hatch? I'm quite killer biased too, but I see no problem with it at all. You said it's "semi broken", but gave no explanation. Please elaborate.
As for SWF, I agree. It should not be possible to play SWF in ranked games. There should be a casual mode, unranked, where you can (as has been suggested by many).
just the fact that the killer has no tools in a standoff thats it would like it if survivor was exposed near the hath might make it better
Disagree. Killer has the option to find survivor and down him or her before they find the hatch. And if you happen to find it together, well, why not just let them go? You got your 3k, staring at each other for half an hour is just not worth your time. Is it?
but if you come across it first you would be a fool to leave because you know the survivor is probaly stalking you
In such a case, I either resume searching the whole map, or camp someplace where I'm very visible, at least 20 m away from hatch. That way they may be deceived into thinking I'm sitting right on top of the hatch. They will show up sooner or later. Still no guarantee you can catch them, but chances are better. And if they escape, they escape. Happens. -

Racing for the unhook. Happened to me once: we already knew we're up against a Hag, an idiotic Feng showed up to save the same time as I did. I was a little closer, we were both crouching but I had Urban. She sid not. So in the last ten meters she decided to make a run for it.
You can easily guess the results. -
@ChesterTheMolester agree with much, but Speed Limiter is actually fun. Combined with Distressing, you can get a LOAD of BP for a single chainsaw hit, plus, it bamboozles survivors. Something like a mini No Mither for LF: a challenge addon.
-
Occasionally, it's just about survivors willing to give you 300 or 600 extra BP. Happened to me a few times.
It's annoying though, I agree. I always wanted a mechanic that rewards 2000 BP to the first survivor who escapes and 1000 to the second one, but maybe there should be one that starts draining the already earned BP 60 seconds after exit gates are opened, if they are the last survivor in game.
Won't happen though, there are more serious things to fix (Freddy!!!), so we just have to live with it. -
Shape can already do some proper moonwalking.
It wouldn't do too much good to the horror factor though. -
Agreed, secondary objectives do help slowing the game down, thus help killers without nerfing any of the stealth and loop tools that are there for survivors. (Trapper and Hag are particularly grateful for it.)
I think this should be further experimented with.
I think one of the best aspects of this event was that these objectives were not linked to props that are visible to the killer. It actually takes a bit more exploration and more navigational skills from killers (like, remembering juice locations) to find survivors. -

Sitting near a hook or facecamping is just pure pathetic ... it says nowhere thats the only way to win nor is it the best way, Killers have just adapated and chose it as THE only way. Its wrecking the game slowly... how many people dc when they get tunneled... can you really blame them when its the same stuff happening game after game. Of course killer mains or maybe some survivors wont give a damn and call this post whining ... thats your opinion your entiltled too. And yes iv played killer to rank 1 and i make sure people have a good game without the tunneling camping crap.I wish you people stopped posting the same thing over and over again. DS and "camping/tunneling". Literally every day at least one new discussion comes up with this.
Rank 15 and above there is roughly one camper in five games. Or less. (No, killer chasing someone around the hooked person is NOT camping.) Crying about "tunneling" is even more silly: of course I want to take one person out of the game as soon as possible. Deal with it.If you're not convinced, ok, we don't have to agree. But please, PLEASE make a search before you post something that has been posted a thousand times already.

With increased healing time it may be useful sometimes. I experimented a bit with it, the result was something like it proved very useful in three games out of ten. The other seven it did not, either because I didn't even get a chance to heal, or not enough to gather up my five tokens. Or, as in the most annoying cases, those damn skill checks just wouldn't show up.
A very slight buff could actually make it a good perk, until then, we'd better just shelf it.

I managed to do it to. I don't think there's any mention of such a change in the patch notes either. Quite convinced you're wrong about this.

I referred to camping

Btw for me pipping is pretty much winning. You say most killers don't think that way? I'm not sure. -
Ok, I'll start spreading the word: devs promised new chapter coming out early december, complete with Freddy buff and free candy.
-
Clearly this is yet another post that's not meant to be taken seriously. Bugs on purpose? Don't make me laugh. There's nothing wrong with hatch mechanic either. Or is there? I personally think the hatch is fine, I'll give you my arguments @witulo if you're interested, but even if you're not, I'd definitely like to know why do you think there's an issue with it. Hitboxes: again, nothing of substance, except maybe with hatchet hitboxes.
You know that bitter sarcasm does not move anything forward. Any dev who worked on this game will just look at your post and move on thinking this is not constructive at all. And with good reason: burping out all your bile gets you nowhere. Perhaps if you made an actual effort to explain what you think is problematic, with arguments, footage, detailed explanation, etc. But this "everything about this game is #########" attitude will just discredit even your valid points.

I only got the dress myself. I didn’t really like the look of the Odachi or her bun. I hope they come out with some new blades for her. Though I don’t think i’ll ever changer her default hair, I absolutely adore the original hair.
Doesn't the cloth constantly block your view thanks to jiggle physics and stuff? It looked so bad when I saw Truetalent play with that cosmetic.
Yup, that's a big problem with it, similar to the yellow apron our dear Leatherface wears - I always think I caught a glimpse of a survivor, then I realize it's my effin' cloth...
But's let's get real here, showing off is more important, isn't it? -
Just bought this one for real money. I find it too hard to resist spending my iridescents on them extra 150K Bloodpoints... no way to save up. Although, I guess it was also a way to reward BHVR for the recent ban wave

Awesome outfit. Gotta say though, I wish there was a kimono skin for the Spirit, one that's not torn or ragged at all.

The Beast: Soot. (That's the Wailing Bell addon that retains your TR even when cloaked.) Even though some time already passed since Wraith rework, people still don't expect Wraith. I see them LOOKING for a Billy or Clown or anything, and it messes with their mind when you just pop out of invisibility and smack them.
Also, running Distressing with it rewards you with 2200 (!) BP for every surprise attack. Basically you can max out your Deviousness points in the first minute of a match.

I only juggle them if I have a Mori. -
Yeah it's clearly because of the event: a LOT more players play as killer now, or try to. I used to have less than 5 minutes of waiting for survivors. Now if it's less then 20, I feel extremely lucky.Zaram said:@SovererignKing said:
Killer lobbies are bugged again on PC. Has nothing to do with lack of Survivor players. If there was a lack of Survivors, you’d get stuck waiting ages for others to show up in lobby with you to play Survivor as well. Unless you are a 4 man stack of SWF. This happens after major updates all the time, then the developers do something with the net code and things are back to normal. It has nothing to do with Survivors getting nerfed or being unappealing to play.
lol, The lobby bug excuse.
What is so hard to understand that people play a lot more killer because of the event?
I think we need to consider paying third world youngsters to play survivor for an hourly fee or something. -
I would, even though I usually don't have lag issues. Two conditions:
- PVP would have to stay available. Don't always need a dedicated server.
- It would have to be cheap: around $3,00 a month. I guess 4-5 would still be acceptable, but even something like $1/month would deter some players, not so much because of the amount, but simply because a lot of people just can't be bothered.
That said, the question of dedicated servers comes up very often in the forums, and many people say most of the code would have to be rewritten to do it. I wouldn't know, but it may be correct. I hope BHVR at least runs some numbers to figure out if it would be viable.
-
I get about 20-25 minute waiting times (R3). But please consider this too: this event is aimed at players who only play one side to try the other. There's no way to do that and avoid long lobby waits for killers. Still, I really like the idea that everyone grows a little more sympathetic towards the other side
