    What’s your favorite Legion loadout?

Anti-Dead Hard build. I see it every game so I bring Blood Echo and Mind Breaker when possible. I always bring BBQ and Iron Maiden on every killer possible when I feel it since I don't like people staying out of my aura. That might change when I get Greg.

  • You scare me and make me want to bring the new Shattered Hope perk when it releases.

Exposed or Blood Echo / Fearmonger (Broken status effect helping with this)

I get your point but they don't need to bring a perk to counter your perk.

  • I say Dead Hard because you can just do bones with Noed. Do you just... not injure to remove their dead hard?

  • @Coffeecrashing said:

If it’s going to pause the timer for that long, it should require the survivor to remain within range, and it should alert the killer when the perk is active (a small icon on the side of the screen, like how survivors get an icon when they are affected by a hex), so the killer knows there is a survivor in range they should look for.

Reworked perks should encourage both roles to interact with each other more often. Your rework just lets someone sneak into range for 1 second, then sneak away, avoiding all interaction with the killer.

That's a really good idea. Both sides know what's up and it makes for a good distraction!

The mechanic is equivalent to the Random Tripping mechanic in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. You don't know when it will happen, but when it does happen, it changes the game in your opponent's favor and feels extremely bad on you because you have no input on it.

Dude, that's the same with survivors and killers bringing nothing but meta. At least this isn't every game, right?

  • Hey man, it's something different. Not like the meta killers and survivors deal with on a daily basis. It can be fun to have one random get the lucky break they need to shift the game back. Fun on both sides, I might add.

  • Second chance perks carry survivors, too. Can we admit both sides suck now?

I think that's a very steep number, a large number of people can't loop for even 55 and that's high MMR. no, I think I would take it down to 70/60/50 that sounds a lot more reasonable, and possible to attain more than once. But a chase prerequisite doesn't sound like it would work, we need to flow with the already established terminology, so most likely you would still have to craft one in a locker, doesn't really help you much if you were being chased to get it right? I think my original idea of it being an item attainable in anyone's blood web, remember this doesn't stun the killer nor does it blind them, it doesn't need to be difficult to obtain one, since it's not that OP in the first place, it's just a last resort get away

Did you not read the part of TOTAL chase time? It can still be a last resort getaway. Just have the item automatically put into your inventory once the perk meter is filled and you aren't holding any items. It is not a "Last long in a single chase for this amount of time." That's too weak.

    counterplay

Well I think this could be a creative way to counter trickster and huntress, but of course you don't know which killer you're going against until you get in the match.

    Item form

I noticed you mentioned the idea of this being in the form of a perk, and while that sounds nice, I see this more of a one time use item such as the firecracker, that's why I created the add ons.

but yes I'm also not against the idea of it being a perk, but seeing it be reusable to me sounds a bit annoying. a compromise could be having ammo, so you spawn with 3 smoke bombs, or you spawn with 2, since it doesn't effect the killer in a grand way, I wouldn't view the notion of survivors having multiple bombs as an issue.

    Perk form prequisites

Obviously if this were to be in the form of a perk, it would need a prequisite. I think some ideas could be cleansing totems, being chased by the killer for a certain amount of time, or healing/unhooking others. 3 seperate ideas, all different ways to nerf or buff how easy it is to gain a Smoke Bomb. If they really wanted to make it difficult to earn, they could set the prequisite to taking protection hits.

    Thank you for the ideas!

It should benefit people that are good in chase so I think that should be the prerequisite for about... 90/80/70 total seconds of chase to get a smoke bomb. That sound good?

  • I say he because I call him Greg.

I'm sorry, have you tried giving Stardew Valley a try, it's a fun game with relaxing music and the creator is even working on another game called Haunted Chocolatier. I don't know how long your first break was, but try taking a longer break this time, and maybe limit the amount that you're playing DBD.

Ex; Have a backup game, play a couple matches of DBD, and then switch to your backup. Or even watch a movie like movies you enjoyed from your childhood

I appreciate the effort. I had DMC5, Left 4 Dead 2 and Dying Light 2 as my other games. I'll enjoy dbd more once the bots in custom feature comes in the winter. I don't like... people.

Hey, just a teeny reminder for my friends, foes, and people whom I've never met. Let's put the 'us vs. them' aside for a moment and have a talk.

If the game is affecting you to the point where your mental health feels like it's draining. Take a break from the game if you can. For me, I stopped playing DBD as much when I got my Oculus and honestly, it's been refreshing. I got to work on my anger issues, met some new people, ect.

For those who have invested a lot of time and effort into the game, or even money into the game, you don't have to abandon the game completely, just take a long enough break for you to breathe.

I believe in you, go draw, read a book, or even play a different game that is relaxing like Stardew Valley. You got this, keep on pushing through.

It's the one online game I have that supports my bad internet. (i.e. not boot me out when my internet cuts for a couple seconds.) Tried slime rancher and it was nice but as soon as I came back, so did the bad feelings.

like i really don't understand the game at all. i love killer. i love being able to mindgame and chase and being challenged.

but having people on discord and a swf thats just gen rushing every game and having a runner or 2 its just flat out boring.

legit 5 gens pop and like every surv knows the infintes so i legit can not find a "weak link" and focues them.

like idk i want to play the game again but the survs just have so many advantges with no debuff to being in a swf.

solo is what this game should be, having 4 random survs its amazing since even if they are all good rank 1 survs with a lot of hours you still have a chance since at least they have no comms.

having 4 survs who are all good is so stupid cause then your like "now what?" because you legit can not out play good survs.

like again i am not bad i stopped at rank 3 so i know what i am doing but versing 4 good players on discord is just hopeless and a gg go next cause comms is so important in competive games and i seen and have done 180s of loss games with good comms.

oh and the end game chat, lets see what happens when 4 entitled people group up and think they are gods, sigh.

i have muted end game chat for like forever and sometimes will turn it on to see if people are still the same and yup they swf are still entitled a holes. its like the 1 out play i do they get so mad at me for doing 1 out play even tho they rolled me.

even if 5 gens pop and i just want 1 kill they flame me for it like ????? its like what ever i do i get flamed like i want my 1 kill why am i getting flamed its not like your gonna be nice to be ether way i let you all escape like ??????????.

i just want the devs to fix the game and not have killers versing swf every game, i tried the discord and see how broken swf is and its just stupid how people actually callout everything. killers, gen %, locations, pallets. like these survs are no joke they are legit sweats.

i just want to enjoy killer again not get rolled every game, ya solo q sucks but idc. i perfer the randomness of solo q surv cause its more fun and fair then having 4 friends in a swf who played since game launch.

thank you for reading i am gonna go play tarkov, i just wish i can play this game again but every time i try to enjoy it i realized how unfun and unbalanced the game really is.

    Rough day?

I have over 5K hrs and play nothing but Blight, Nurse and Hillbilly. You’re choosing to play a killer that doesn’t have a lot of consistent mobility and as you say an m1 killer that doesn’t take any mechanical skill. So yeah expect to get screwed over by DH once in awhile :). It’s like showing up with a Honda Civic at a Lamborghini drag race and trying to argue that your Honda Civic sucks because it’s slow but it’s light weight and easier to drive :)

Both of the first two are so overused that it's boring. Hillbilly I respect, though.

  • @MikeyBoi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/324932/the-feeling-of-getting-out-perked

But do you have the skill though to play such a vile killer such as nurse?” :). You chose to play a certain way to win and they countered it by using unbreakable.. I don’t see the problem. DH becomes less of a problem the more experience you have playing killer. Wish people would understand that.

You know saying ":)" along with what you're saying is making people think you're saying this in a smug manner. Hope you understand that. :) (If you felt irked by me using it then now you know how we feel.) Also it becomes less a problem with the more experience you have on killer? I have 2.3k hours and I still have to deal with the same E to fix mistake whenever I play because I want to play Legion who's still an m1 killer when you're unable to chain feral slashes. Does this mean I should be understanding that I'll get all of my work taken away with a good mindgame just from the press of a button and be okay with that?

  • I feel that. I face dead hard the most because I play Legion. Exact reason why I bring blood echo to counter it. But then you have actually competent survivors that split up to make it hard to spread the injuries and then you have the weirdos that dead hard frenzy. I respect the ones that split up since they're thinking and not just pressing E. Still hurts my soul when I see everyone equip it. Excited to see what the perk reworks will be.

I like when I get 4K and the Survivors write "gg" or "gg Killer" that means they had fun even in the worst possible outcome for them which is the healthier way to go, especially for the game in the long run.

I think it's simply them wanting to show sportsmanship. Respectful.

  • Mettle of Man. It should have a whole separate thing to become a neat part of what people could run. Different effects and different prerequisites and whatnot.

  • @Viskod said:

A portion of Pop Goes the Weasel, Overcharge, and Ruin become basic generator mechanics.

When a killer kicks a generator, it should take a chunk out of the progress.

When a survivor tries to stop a regressing generator they should have to pass an Overcharge like skill check to put a stop to "Tapping"

If a non-regressing generator is left untouched for a period of time it starts to automatically regress.

Me who's able to complete the skillcheck as I'm running away:

A win feels more like I've earned it if my build's unique.

also, it's nice not having to sweat a ton.

This is what hits the sweet spot for me as something challenging and rewarding without needing to play like my life depends on it.

Currently with the killer on the PTB. I bring a build that compliments their power. No slowdowns and I still do very well against the good survivors. Occasional swfs, too! :> Legion... that's a whole different story.

  • I personally feel that there should also be a mercy finisher mechanic if this goes through. It'd be fun that you get to choose. You are supposed to be the power role, after all.

  • Telltale's The Walking Dead. There's potential in a good killer than whatever the AMC series has. Minerva and whoever you wish to be a part of the survivor side. Maybe even a twofer with Lee and season 4 Clem. If you're wondering who the fresh hell Minerva is, I urge you to play it or watch a playthrough yourself. I'd rather not spoil it.

  • And YOU need to step up your spelling, sir.

  • Waltz from Dying Light 2?

  • I just want a full legion cosplay for a survivor. They'll become my new main.

  • Everyone gets a basic hoodie that has a toggle for flipping up and down with bandages on the knuckles. Then I can use it with Meg to become a true Legion survivor.

  • Blood Echo on Legion is a godsend considering what their purpose is.

  • @Satelit said:

I've noticed that hitting a survivor during the brief invulnerability period when they get unhooked counts as a slash for the insta-down so don't save in their face either

  • @Sluzzy said:

It should be clear by now the Legion buff was entirely too far. The community, especially survivors, is not having a good time against him. There is no counterplay to his power and the amount of time mending all match is absurd. With perks like Sloppy Butcher, Ruin, thanatophobia, and so many of these perks it is literally impossible to do the survivor objective. But most importantly, he is miserable to play against. I would rather play against a Prayer Beads Spirit. I never thought I would ever say such a thing.

As survivor, the teams have only managed to escape once or twice. All the other matches if you look at the player statuses, the entire team is a broken state or mending state 24x7. He is too fast and zero counterplay to his power.

As killer, I played about 5 matches. In 3 of those matches the survivors were paralyzed and I won all 5. I quit playing because it was clearly too easy.

Sure, the new music is nice but it is not a fair game. I hope we get an announcement soon of a correction patch.

    Don't touch my precious! HISSSS!

really? bait it out? how can I do that when I don't know they're there? I can bait it out after I know they're using that perk and what type of survivors they are.

I stand by what I said and your reply proves my point on why head-on needs to be disabled

as for dc'ing, I dc if I want to and I will always DC against people who are just not fun to play in a match with.

Exactly. You can bait it out once you know it's there. Don't act like the victim when you can definitely bait it out after discovering it. Quit being a little baby about it. While I do respect your decision to dc if the match isn't fun and I stand by that since I've had crappy games when I first woke up and didn't want to put up with that, you're accusing of all perks bloody head-on as abusable.

THAT'S LIKE SAYING SMASH HIT OR ANY MEANS NECESSARY IS ABUSABLE!

I haven't seen a Legion lose yet. Please tell that to all the survivors losing against him.

On topic, he was overbuffed and his buffs were unnecessary. The devs even said in their note they were a popular killer and had well over 50% killrates.

Would you like to practice on cowshed against my legion? I think you'll have a bit of an issue. Either it'll support your statement or it'll show how much bull you've been snorting.

Newest patch on Series X has given me some choppiness and small frame drops.

Same on my end and I have a bloody 3060 on my pc along with other delightful specs. Just a couple games ago, it screwed me from getting a swing in that extended the chase by 20 seconds.

    ALONG WITH A DEAD HARD!
  • @Sluzzy said:

I have hardly played the past few days because my drive to startup the game is almost non-existent. Looking at the player counts it appears my sentiment is shared among most.

I watched some Twitch to look at the patch and what I saw was not very encouraging. A popular streamer camping and tunneling everyone out of the match and eventually survivors gave up. I literally saw a Dwight and a Kate looking at a Legion in his eyes asking to be sacrificed because it was impossible for them to win. This is after the killer camped someone unnecessarily in the basement. Survivors not able to escape either and complaining about how bad their teammates are. Can I be reminded why the hatch and keys were ruined? Survivor gameplay is way too hard now. I actually saw no survivors escaping in a span of about 45 minutes.

The patch is 100% killer favored and now Legion is so overpowered there is nobody going to escape. Not to mention how unfun they are to verse. Survivors hit hard with more unnecessary nerfs is really causing a very lack of any enthusiasm. A fun boon mechanic ruined, there is no reason to use them now. I find it disappointing a healing perk has nerfed into the ground while buffing a killer that makes it extremely easy to injure people and actually down. Downing that fourth person is going to probably be happening a lot because of how long Legion can maintain his fast speed.

And now we have an old character with a sexuality change against his will that can potentially be targeted with no way to defend against that.

Balancing and priorities needs to change before the Titanic sinks. I can't be alone with this opinion.

    Suffer.

The Legion's new VFX are still too much, the heavy blinking especially at 3/4 chain hits is very eye straining to look at and makes it hard to play the character for multiple matches.

For me it occasionally confuses me as to whether or not I can down a survivor with frenzy. A little annoying but it is what it is...
