  • Not in the wrong at all.

I was farmed off hook last night by my teammates and was down, hooked and killed. It happens and its not the killers fault.

People like to point the finger at the killer but most of the time its your own teammates getting you killed... solo life is so fun x.x

One shall not sexualize the Demodoggo, I agree.

I would bump huntress up but besides that you and me are the same page 😚 Thats a perfect tier list!

  • Yui and Felix

    ... and Huntress and PH

  • 3rd is the best ^^

Did you read the full post? You can only tell your teammates that something is there or alert them, Plus they would only hear you if they're near you Just like IRL, and you can't say who the killer is or what your perks are..

Nah I just jumped in without reading /s.

Your suggestion to buff solo queue is not a bad idea, but its a complicated one. That is why I suggested coms. The simplist way to buff solo queue to swf level is to just add in games coms (not proxy chat, tho I would die of happiness if the devs did that ^^). Another buff that would help is seeing our teammate loadouts before the trial. That way solos can synergies with their team better.

I want a battlefield type of chat. Like a bubble popping up with certain commands. But won't happen since some people will complain about it.

Hahaha yah, you cant make everyone happy. That is the truth ^^"

I guess having more gestures or pre-set chat bubbles would help more with communication but at the end of the day just being able to talk with your party would be the only buff solos really need.

I haven't played battlefield but on Overwatch I always have my party chat open. I rarely talk but I can hear what my team needs or wants from me and that is enough to have enjoyable matches ^^ As a solo survivor that is what I would like to see in dbd over what op suggested. It would also take a lot more work on the developer side to have each survivor have voice lines.

  • Sorry I don't mean to come off as naive but what problem would in game coms create?

I know not everyone likes chatting but if they were added people should be able to toggle them on ot off (like in overwatch).

  • All we need is in game coms. That will fix solo queue.

  • Hell no.

I'm a 50/50 player tho so when I play survivor Im pretty confident against every killer there is. If less people mained survivor and played flex instead I think people would understand killers better... but that is asking too much, I kno ^^"

  • Red ranks = you know how the game works. It doesn't not mean people are necessarily gods at the game.

I'm usually red rank survivor and I don't feel I should be there. If i hit red it means I played a lot that month :P Thats it. Im not skilled at all and fail at chases. I know the maps and I'm a good teammate. That is enough to get me to red.

  • How is Billy D tier? Same with the Twins? They are both at least a B ^^

  • We can not stop doing good thing just because bad people get upset. That argument always drives me mad...

Let people be mad. Add all the lgbtq flags!

Increasing totem speed is a good idea, but i don't think it should show any auras.

    100% this.

We already have so many totem location perks and this new one just put them out of business.

Detective's Hutch was one of my go-to perks but whats the point of it now? Counterforce gives me totem locations, major speed buff to cleansing, and it acts a counter in that if I do bones and see no new totem highlighted I know they are all done.

As a survivor I love this new perk. As killer I fear it...

  • The reaction should be expected tho. Idk why the devs brought it up only to say 'more info coming soon'. Of course that is going to cause panic. They shouldn't have said anything at all about it:<

  • I'm a little worried too and need more info about it...

I play 50/50 but from the killer perspective it may be unbalanced. You can finish a match and then 4 people decide they hate you for whatever reason.

A ban system would be horrible for this game. I don't have a ton of time to play games but when I do my go to is DBD. Long queue times are already frustrating... if I sign in one day and see I'm banned for whatever reason I would walk away and never come back. I'm good player. As a survivor I play for my team and do my best, as a killer I do my best not to tunnel and camp unless I need to (for example EGC and a survivor is on hook. I'm not leaving the hook area).

I also enjoy killers people don't like (Hag, Twin, Spirit, Freddy).

I may be worrying prematurely but the way this game is having a ban system would be chaos. Everyone has their own 'rules' for each side... what makes you a good or bad player in people's eyes varies drastically.

  • Billy since his rework which is a shame. He is one of my fav to play against and I love his chase music.

Quinton or Jeff... I rarely see them :(

  • I'm hoping to see some qol changes announced. I know the next chapter will be amazing lol ^^

I'm super excited no matter what!

Yeah I get this, but maybe something more gameplay oriented instead of just flat out conceding, then again I'm too tired to think off one so I agree lol.

Hahaha we all seem to agree something should be done but the solution isn't clear ^^"

Sadly so many want Hag gone. I don't agree with Trickster getting removed though

Hahaha I don't want anyone removed. If I had to pick one tho it would be him sadly ^^"

I really enoy playing all the killers but he is one I haven't been able to grasp yet and also playing aginst him hasn't felt good.

  • So much Hag hate ;_; my girl...

I really like all the killers but if I had to pick one it would be Trickster. I loved how he looks and his laugh but being bombarded with knives feels meh.

  • @NightmareKiller When I play survivor and I'm one of the last two it is equally annoying having my 'teammate' just waiting around for me to die. I always run bond so I know whats up lol.

I always try to get gens done no matter what. If I die so be it. I just can't stand being in a match where nothing is happening. I much rather die then hide around forever.

When I play killer though its even more frustrating since there is nothing I can do if both survivors are playing hide and seek.

Today I am pretty sure the last 2 were swf and they were trying to get me to DC. I looked for them for 15 before I got lucky and found one :<

Maybe I am just having bad luck today but I do think killers should have some kind of mechanic to end a match if the last 2 survivors are not participating.

  • @wishwon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2212330#Comment_2212330

Yeah I kind of assumed you just hadn't thought about it fully yet, but I thought I might as-well put that out there for readers who were thinking about that part. Btw, I like that you're thinking about ways to stop hide-and-go-seek in games, so dont think I disagree with your post as a whole :)

I'm not a malicious player so I tend to miss how things can abused lol. Your input is appreciated! ^^

Maybe the simplest way to get out of a hide and seek situations would be to have a concede option appear for the killer after a certain amount of time has passed and the game hasn't progressed. That way a killer can leave, keep all their BP, and not have search around for 10+ minutes.

  • @wishwon said:

The only part i'm going to comment about here is the last part referring to letting the killer open exit gate whenever they want; i'm going to assume you mean when 2 survivors remain but gens arent complete (as letting the killer do it whenever would just lead to the game starting with an exit game open and remove the whole point of the objective style game, also would lead to the abuse of end game builds where the killer just downs all the survivors and then blood warden kicks in), so if you are talking about when 2 survivors remain, here's my issue with that: 1, that gives way too much power to the killer. Even as a killer main I can admit that that ability would let the killer control the game a ton, especially with end game builds and/or characters like trapper or hag. 2, it removes the opportunity for more objective category bloodpoints for the survivors, which seems a little unfair.

I didn't think this all the way through clearly ^^" You are totally right. Being able to open the gate whenever could be abused/ give advantage to the killer which isn't my intention here.

  • @SMitchell8 said:

My idea for this would be to have a killer that can use thermal vision. Doctors can see through walls with shocks and nurses can go through them, so why not have a killer that can see Claudettes in a bush.

I always thought it would be fun to have a killer with echolocation. They would be blind but be able to echolocoate their surroundings. Also flashlights would not work against them mwahahaha. Could be too op or super difficult to play tho lol.

Having thermal vision as a special power would be cool. It could probably even be used to see gen progression! (Predator as killer when??? D:<)

  • Trickster :(

Being pelted with knives feels bad. Rather take an ax to the back.

  • I'm rank 4 survivor but I think I would be better described as a rank 10 (average). I'm bad at chases and can't loop. I also use fun perks over meta perks.

How I make it to red ranks I have no clue.

Killer I'm 7-8 and I think that is accurate :) I'm pretty good against purple ranked survivors. If its a swf red death squad then I am no good.

  • @Squirrel_Thicc said:

No but you should always be able to have 1 killer and 1 survivor challenge selected at the same time so people who forget to change their challenges don't get screwed.

I came here to say exactly this!

I don't see why the devs cannot make this simple change.

Well if we are talking about good moments in general I love it when I get 5 stacks of Autodidact and watch the heal progress bar fly.

That is always a wonderful feeling. Especially if you get the 5 stack at the beginning of the match. Feels good pumping out the fastest heals.

Although it feels extra bad when you have a 5 stack and never see a skill check...

  • So kind of you to ruin the match for 4 others and coming on to the forums to announce how petty you are. A+

  • Here is some more:

    Twins - Dark/ Fairy

    Blight -Electric/ Poison

    Huntress - Normal/ Steel

    Bubba - Fighting/ Steel

    Billy - Fire/ Electric

    Pig - Normal/ Steel

    Death Slinger - Steel

Trickster - Fairy/ Steel (he just seems like he would be a Fairy types with how colourful and smol he is).

Lots of Steel, Dark, Ghost types hahaha

  • This is fun ^^ I love Pokemon!

    Trapper - Dark/Steel

Honest question - don't take offense - but why do so many people watch these DBD streamers instead of just playing the game themselves? To each their own, I'm not saying it's "bad", I just never understood why someone who's interested in a game would rather just watch someone else play it when they could be having the fun instead.

People usually play the game and watch streamers. Its usually not one or the other.

Some watch for entertainment and I know a lot of people watch so they can learn from the best. I got a lot better with Hag after watching some Michi videos ^^

Another reason to watch streamers is to get a fresh perspective. I will see streamers use builds or play killers I haven't touched in awhile and be like 'oh that looks like fun' or 'that is an interesting load out. I will try that!'

I wasn't into watching streamer until I got into DBD. There are quite a few masters of the game and its nice to be able to watch and learn.

To OP, you are not wrong. A strong swf group can give the best killers a run for their money, however these are people at the top of the game and shouldn't be used as examples for balancing. For us normal folks a good killer player can get at least 2 red ranks per match.

  • L T walls. I think that is what they are called? You know, when there are those two windows?

I have never been able to figure those out.

  • @gnehehe said:

I do not think this idea would be great for the game, especially with 4 coordinated survivors that would be able to vote out most strong killers

I can't even imagine the queue times of hag players ... however, I would not really feel bad for them :)

    *growls sadly in hag*

  • You dc against killers you don't like? That is not good... maybe this isn't the game for you.

Your suggestion would make matchmaking a nightmare.

  • Here is mine. I really just want some qol stuff ^^

    - switch killer in lobby again.

    - see fellow survivor perks and items in lobby (not the killer of course). It would be nice if you hovered over a survivor and you see their complete load out.

    - coms! Even if its just pre and post game but I would love in game coms for us solo social survivors.

    - new maps

    - seeing a new game mechanic would be cool or maybe a new survivor item.

    - rework to bloodweb, shrine, and the overall grind to the game

    - more male survivors

    - more cosmetics that aren't just 'hot female survivor'.

    - blood hunts when?

  • Oh man this is a tough discussion.

If exhaustion perks are to be buffed I think exhaustion would need to permanent after use (making them one and done perks). I think your ideas above would be fine as long as that was the case.

  • Traps going off make my heart sing! I place them in unique places usually. I like to think I'm good at predicting survivors movements so I know where to place unexpected traps.

One time I hooked the second to last survivor and bbq went off. I saw the last survivor running on the far side of the map... right into my trap! It was perfect timing and it felt good ^^

  • 1. Coms in game please!

(With an on off toggle for those who hate coms).

    2. Be able to switch killers in lobby again (please!!!!!).

  • I would like this as both a solo survivor and killer. May I also suggest that surviors can hover over their teammates and see their perks? This would allow us solos to adjust our load out to our team :) (or add coms in game but that may be asking for too much).

When I play killer tho I would like to be able to switch characters. When I suspect a swf and I'm on a killer I don't know as well I just dodge the loby. If I could switch killer then I could pick one of my stronger killers and be able to do decent against a swf. I'm not against playing swf, I just want to be at my best when I do!

People already dodge lobbies. Adding an indicator of swf groups won't change that. There are people who don't want play against swf and then there are us that do.

    @FancyMrB

Yeah Bubba’s got that apron flapping walk that no one else has.

What can say? Hard not to love the big boy in masks.

I also live for Michael's mori.

God what has this game done to me...

  • I would say half a year since I have been in a 4 stack. Long time!

  • I would love this!

Playing 1000 hours on a single character would merit an epic skin. They could do something flashy like crystal skins or golden skins. Or maybe just make up a special legendary skin for each?

It would take a lot of work but it would be cool to see a player and know they have done their time in the fog ✌

  • Claudette - she is a sweetie and deserves to be free.

Hag - lay poor Lisa to rest... I know there are a few with tragic backgrounds but holy heck Lisa's is so sad and cruel.

  • Good luck on your exams!

If I'm stressed I play BoTW or any nintendo game really. They are the best to relax to and forget your worries for a bit.

DBD... induces stress if you aren't in the right frame of mind for it ^^"

  • The way around it is to cleanse. If cleansing is an issue then run totem perks or use a map.

Having hex perks simply deactivate kind of takes away their purpose. They are high risk high reward and if they just sputtered out, in say 5 min, or could be cleansed there would be no real reason to run them.

  • Oni, PH, Demo, Huntress, Hag

Probably some more but those are the ones that come to mind first.

  • If the devs wanted to prevent camping and tunneling it would require an overhaul of the game. Here here are my ideas. Sorry if this has been said already, I haven't read the entire thread!

Idea 1. Get rid of hooks and make 'hooking' a survivor like PH cages.

This idea isn't perfect but at least the survivor is teleported away from the killer to help prevent camping. The devs could make cool unique cages for each killer. Dr could have an electric chair, Hag could have a evil looking tree, Demo could have something like in the series in the upside down, etc.

Downside is the pick up and wiggle mechanic would become obsolete and there are a lot of perks dedicated to it.

Idea 2. When a survivor gets hooked they go to another realm with the hook. Fellow survivors can enter the realm by a portal mechanic to go unhook their friend. Once they are unhooked they return to game (random location). The portals are random around the map and only survivors can see them.

    Upsides to this would be:

    - no way for killer to camp or tunnel off hook. It wouldn't stop them from seeking out the unhooked survivor but at least it would be more difficult.

    - this new method would also keep survivors off gens for awhile which would give the killer time to regress them or get into a chase with another survivor.

    - Some perks would need to be altered but I think most perks would remain the same with this change?

Anyways those are just 2 ideas to cutting down camping and tunneling.

  • I play 20-30 matches a week and alternate between killer/survivor. I maybe get camped or tunneled once or twice in those matches.

I agree people throw those terms around for almost everything and also do not take into consideration their own plays. It always the killers fault their miserable.
