For the record the hag I was noticing this on was running Zero Perks or ad ons
Ah okay. Then maybe a bug?

which actually makes your traps worse, so if anything, this is a bad thing.
Yes but OP was wondering if it was a bug that was causing traps to go off from a distance. I was simply suggesting it may be the add on.
I don't use it myself because you are right, it is not a good add on if you want to land hits when traps pop. It is a good add on for surprising survivors or using the traps to locate.
-
There is an add on for Hag traps that increases the radius they can be activated. Maybe that was it?
-
When Myers wasn't detected in Tier 1 with Spine Chill.
I would always get big jump scares from him 😅
-
Yes more monsters please!!!
I would like to see more creatures. Giant Snake, Giant Spider, Wolf, an Abomination Chimera kinda thing.
-
Claudette is my main survivor because when I started playing (and knew nothing) I thought she was the healer. Little did I know survivors are just skins and everyone can learn her perks and play the healer role.
I stuck with her because I lover her cosmetics and I think she is the cutest of all the females.
My other favs are Yuri, Felix, and Jeff (give Jeff more cosmetics please!!!!!).
-
Nerf DH (no more going through Trappers traps!)
Buff Trapper! (Trapper bag base kit and make it so his traps spawn neat generators and not at the far edges of maps)

Bad luck. It took me one match as survivor
Noice! Yah some survivors I talked to over the last 2 days have said they still haven't seen him or that they got him right away :)
Now that I have mine I will continue to help survivors catch the slippery lil guy.
-
Its a difficult challenge. It took me about 2 days finally find him on the saloon.
I did the challenge as killer and told the survivors I was only here for the gnome. They all happily agreed to get gens done and then go gnome hunting with me. Even working together it was tough to spot him. Playing normally AND finding gnome is very difficult. I like your suggestion to make him spawn at the start... or maybe even after 3 gens are done.
Having him only spawn at EGC is intense.

What makes Surveillance more effective at Tier 1, than it is at Tier 3?
At tier 1 the gen stays highlighted for 8 seconds and tier 3 it stays highlight for 16 seconds.
It is better to have less highlighted time so you have a better idea of when the gen was touched. I kick a lot of gens in my matches and I'm not always paying attention. If I turn around and realize a gen is yellow then I at least know it hasn't been too long since a survivor got on it and there is a chance they are still there.
Another good thing to keep in mind:
As strong as surveillance is it also gives power to survivors if they know you have it and can use it to mess with you... as soon as I know a killer has it I keep them busy playing hide and seek. Touch gen, urban away, watch from afar as killer looks for me, go touch gen again and repeat :P

Not true for Discordance anymore. Now each tier increases its aura reading range.
Thank you for the heads up :D ♡
Didn't know of that.
-
Its an amazing perk and pairs well with many others.
I think its extra useful on certain killers that can move quickly around the map (Freddy, Demo, Blight, even the Twins). Really it works for all tho.
If you get it make sure you keep it in tier 1! At tier 3 its not as good. Same goes for discordant.
-
I give last survivor hatch most the time.
I will also opt for farming if someone DC or afk.
Lately I have been purely farming so Survivors can try and find the gnome ^^ Im just here for fun. I play both sides so I know it can be refreshing to catch a break once and awhile.
... but if survivors are being rude then no more miss nice killer. The Entity shall be fed.
-
If I were to make a prediction for the 5th anniversary I would bet addressing the bloodweb and grind will be apart of the announcements.
I have said it before but I think a big help would be overhauling the Shrine. Instead of 2 rando survivor and 2 rando killer perks make it so a killer and survivor are showcased each week. Those characters are discounted in the store, the cosmetics go on sale, and all their perks are in the shrine.
This change would encourage new players to get new characters/ cosmetics and also make perks easier to get. This doesn't fix the bloodweb itself but it would help with getting perks faster.
-
I think the best way is to encourage desired behavior. There is post right now talking about Devour Hope and I think its an amazing perk for that reason. It gets the killer away from the hook and rewards them with a huge edge (exposure).
If would personally like to see more perks like Devour, BBQ, ans MYC that help get killers away from hooks and also to target different survivors. The devs could even add a new mechanic for killer that gives them additional blood points for always chasing/ hooking a new survivor to cut down on tunneling.
You right though that camping and tunneling do have a time and place. The problem is poor sports who queue up with soul purpose of playing dirty... I don't think there is any real way to stop it.
I would also like to see the 1st camped person automatically getting a safety pip. There should be some way for the game to see that person was hooked, camped, and killed before they could do anything :<
-
I think Devour is the perfect perk.
1. Encourages killers to walk away from hook.
2. Give you nice little buffs that build up to exposure and mori!
3. High payoff that sends survivors scrambling off gens.
4. Can be countered by cleansing.
I think a nice small buff would be for it to remain dull until it has 3 tokens. That is just me nitpicking tho. I think all Hex totems should be dull for a small period of time before they light up.
I would like to see more perks like Devour especially ones that encourage the killer to find other survivors instead of camp/tunnel.
-
I would ask, "what are the most fun but game breaking things you have tested internally?".
I'm sure they have some fun stories!
-
I like RE but I'm def not a hardcore fan. I am excited no matter who the killer or survivor is ^^
If I had to pick I like Nemesis or the vampire ladies. Nemesis is kinda spooky looking.

Gotta get those tasty BP.

I think FNAF would be a great addition to DBD and I think the best part would be the map!
Either a creepy run down Pizzeria or maybe even the new Security Breach area. Those would be neat maps!
Plus bhvr would make a killing on the chapter/ all the skins they could make.
-
Ok I was playing killer and heard a weird little sparkly sounds... I thought lost my mind. Now I know... there are gnomes about x.x

DBD is one of those games that you have to want to enjoy to enjoy it
Holy frick... that is the best description I have ever read of DBD. Slap that on a poster!
I remember when my friends talked me into playing. My whole game group moved from overwatch to DBD and I was tired of playing ow alone. When I first started this game I hated it. I mean I love horror and the general idea of the game but man it was super difficult to like at the start. Knowledge is key in the game and a new player is super overwhelmed.
All the perks, the grind, learning what killer does what, the tiles, etc... its a lot... I kept playing every night though because I wanted to play with my friends and not bring them down. I spent a lot of time outside of game watching videos and reading up on every perk/power. I remember feeling like I was studying for an exam just so I could play decent for my friends.
Now of course I love this game... but the only reason I do is because I was motivated by my friends. If I had just picked up DBD alone I don't think I would have played it more then 5 hours x.x
So ya, you have to want to like this game to really enjoy it ;)
-
When I see a ttv I will go their channel quickly and see what kind of person they are. If they are swf but just being normal goofy friends hanging I will stay. If they sound obnoxious and I hear them talking trash about the last killer I will dodge.
I have actually made a few friends creeping on their channels ^^ we end up laughing about the match and such.
If I can avoid AH I will ✌
-
All the killers require some knowledge and skill to know how to play with them well. People who 'main', especially those that exclusively play survivor, like to discredit killers they simply don't like whenever possible. Got out played by killer xyz? They take nooooo skill because of reason abc.
The Twins are one of my fav killers to play and play against (sadly I maybe go against them once a week :<). Can Victor snowball if all Survivors are injured? Heck yah, but he has multiple counters. Crush him, be in a group and then crush him... oh and heal! Very very easy counters to the smol gremlin. On top of that survivors can kidnap victor which takes away the killers power for a short time.
Yes the Twins take skill to play for the reasons you already mentioned. They are a dynamic killer which is why I find them so fun. The whole being in 2 places at once makes for very fun plays!
-
Doctor, only because of the constant screaming.

The humor is watching the killer fall for it
"What a dumb-a** for changing their loadout to prepare for a swf flashlight squad! Look at them fall for such an obvious trick! Now they only have two useful perks against our 12. God we got him good lads! ROFL XD XD XD"
You do you but making people feel foolish or tricked is just sad and I do fail to see the humor. There is someone else behind the killer just trying to play a game and 4 people giggling at their expense for just doing their best is low. I mean good on you, you discovered a new way to taunt killers! Welcome to DBD, where you get taunted before, during, and after your match!
I hope the devs change it so Killers can swap in lobby again, or make it so survivors cannot ✌
-
A good survivor is one who is a good sport and team orientated, win or lose.
-
Killers are like bears. All you gotta do is turn to face them, make yourself as big as possible, and make lots of noise. Nothing is more terrifying then a survivor that stands their ground. That should help you stop the chase.
-
Yes to all this!
In game coms would fix a lot of pains for survivors and should have been in game forever ago... not sure why Devs don't do this.
In game coms for killer would just be for the lolz and I would love to run around talking with survivors or hearing survivors talking in the distance.
Of course people should be able to toggle it on and off since not everyone is a fan of talking, but it would be a nice option for us solo survivors/killers.
-
I feel yah :< I had two of those matches last night. Also playing Demo which isn't my strongest killer. Im rank 7 and I went up a against nothing but red swf.
I did my best and it was whatever. On the last match one was a ttv so I went to the steam and they were talking smack and laughing at me...I just shook it off and signed off for the night but it really does feel bad.
I'm just trying to have a fun time but I go up against people who take this game way too seriously... I wish I could play with like minded people like myself ;_;
At the end of the day you just gotta do your best and try brush off the bad games. I also think this is a big reason people avoid playing killer... get taunted when you don't play well enough, and get yelled at when do play well.
-
You can't punish players for playing how they want... plus the devs have mentioned they have tried timers and such and survivors just ended up using the mechanic to their advantage.
Sometimes a killer is forces to be by hook because other survivors are there making bad plays. By offering endurance or DS then survivors would do their best to make sure the killer stays by hook so when they unhook their friend gets a free BT or DS.
If anything maybe the Devs could make it so if you are hooked once and out of the game in under 2 min you automatically safety pip and get an extra 10k bp for your wasted time. Or maybe even like 20 shards.
-
- Spine Chill no longer detects Myer's Tier 1 again. In another discussion someone mentioned to make it so Spine Chill doesn't detect stealth killers when they are using their power. I would like to see that change on the PTB or at least make it so the Spine Chill warning is like 20m or something.
- Killers get a hook counter like survivors.
- Bring back swiching killers in lobby.
- Trapper Bag is base kit for Trapper (adjust add ons accordingly).
- I would like to see some love for Pig. Maybe get rid of the limited vision when she is in crouch. I also think giving her 5 traps base kit would be nice.
- This one is probably going to be hated but make BBQ base kit. Its the best perk to incentives leaving the hook and it has multiple counters so its not too op.
Thats all I can think of for now ^^
-
Great idea! Anything to make blindness more threatening. Right now its just meh... especially Third Seal. That perk needs some love from the devs.
Someone else mentioned that blindness should take away parts of the survivor hud as well and I also liked that idea ^^

Speaking of the Siren, Remember the alarm sound effect in the Hawkins lab from Stranger things? I always thought it would be cool if after the doors were open on that map the alarm would go off.
Thats a great idea. I think its the little details that make a map special. That is why I love Midwich... its just not my strongest map personally because I'm a dummy and bad at indoor maps ^^"""
-
I love that map's vibe. The cages, monsters, and the siren... its so well done. Plus love that secret chest if you complete certain generators. I wish more maps had that kind of flare.
As much as I love it... I also hate it lol. Its the one map I can't seem to memorize and I waste so much time looking for gens.
-
Hag's abomination skin.
Also a lot of the blight skins are spooky.
-
Its a beautiful design but I agree with what a lot of people have said here.
- It would nice to see a male survivor cosmetic win.
- It seems a bit similar to a lot of female skins that already exist. Short shorts with sex appeal.
- what is with all the backpacks?
That being said the artist did an amazing job and I can see why its the winner ^^
I hope they go back to the old submission format so we can see all entries. Better yet, it would be nice if the Devs picked their top 10 from each category and let the community vote on which skin they want.
-
As long as the men also got swimwear ... and maybe some of the killers owo
-
I really miss when Spine Chill didn't work for Myer's tier 1. I thought it was and nice quirk for him.
I wouldn't be against a SC change.
What if Spine Chills detection for stealth killers (or killers in stealth mode) was decreased to 20m? Still works but give survivors a shorter window to dip.
-
I was playing Twins on Thompson House. I left victor on the far side of the house while I went up with Charlotte to flush the survivors out. I didn't even do anything, just went up the stairs with her so they knew I was coming. They all jumped down.
I had Victor waiting near a jungle gym and a David came running around the corner but he was looking backwards (think Charlotte was after him). That is when I pounced him as Vic and then I brought Charlotte down to finish the job. Had to be 10 second total till down.
I was very happy with that play and it highlighted how powerful the twins are. Some people be playing them as campers... but I'm out her using victor as a trap card. Mwahahaha o3o
-
Killer: Alien (a xenomorph or necromorph would be swell but an original looking alien would be cool).
Survivor: A space explorer/ scientist
Map: Either a broken down space ship or an abandoned space colony.
Time for DBD to go to the stars!
-
I like that idea. Rando character and perk select so its a surprise when u start the match. Maybe it can include all the perks whether or not you have unlocked them. It would be a fun way to test perks out!

Escaping isn't the issue... ffs I swear you guys don't even read the post.
100% agree with your idea.
As a solo survivor it is very frustrating getting farmed and loosing a hook state because some people don't know what a safe hook rescue is.
Being able to kick away others would be nice. I would also like to suggest a shove animation to quickly get people to stop healing you when the killer approaches. Some people hang on for too long and by the time you have gotten them to release its too late :<
-
Yes please! Epic idea!!!
-
What if they have another announcement besides RE? The devs love surprising us ^^
-
I prefer darker more spooky maps... however the new Cold Wind is stunning and I think the daylight is a nice addition to the map roster! I rather have variety then the same old thing over and over. Good job bhvr map team ^^
I hope the swamp is next and they make it extra spooky. Please keep the fireflies.
-
Those 3 skins were a very pleasant surprise ^^
-
That seems a bit op with it stopping item use but I do agree it needs a buff.
I like the idea that terror radius perks have a lingering aftereffect.
For instance for Overwhleming Presence the effect continues for 10 seconds after a survivor leaves the terror radius.
This would also work really well with coulrophobia (a perk no one uses).
With that small buff I think terror radius builds would be more valid and fun to run.
