  • There was a post last night about doing something for Pride Month.

A few people suggested Pride Charms so both survivors and killers could rep what they wanted to (which I also agree with).

Given that a lot of players like bright cosmetics it would also be nice to get some pride skins ^^

I'm all for representation and more in depth lore for survivors and killers (i like getting to know characters better). I was happy when Overwatch showed characters relationships (Torb, Tracer, Soldier, Reinhart, Phara/ Ana, poor Widow). More lore the better! Straight, LGBTQ, kids, heartbreak. I love it all!

If their were at least pride charms people could rep a character how they imagine them which I think is a lot of fun and makes it flexible for dev and players. Yes that can be seen as a cop out but I think its a step in the right direction.

  • Yes!

Its a really niche perk and think this would be a nice little buff ^^

  • I'm down with it!

Maybe there could be some pride charms so both survivor and killers can participate?

Trickster seems like a good candidate for a pride skin. He is more brightly coloured then most killers.

As for survivors it would be nice if every pride month a couple of survivors got a skin so eventually they each have one.

  • This has been suggested quiet often and doesn't work for the reasons already stated above.

That being said I love the idea that survivors could be more than skins... just don't know how to make it work in the current game :<

  • Killer fun? That is an oxymoron.

Jokes aside matchmaking can be unbalanced and frustrating. I'm a rank 10-6 killer myself and I get a lot of lobbies of nothing but red.

Not all matches are horrible tho. Yes some are really sweaty swf groups and those are exhausting but not all red ranks are god at the game. I'm usually a red rank survivor (solo) and I have no idea how I end up there oxo I'm not very good at this game hahahaha.

I'm not sure if pipping down is the answer. Just keep doing your best as killer. If you get burnt out switch to survivor! DBD isn't really known for being a 'fair'. That is just something I have accepted and it makes for a more enjoyable experience ^^

  • I mean if I have to pick one... Freddy.

  • Felix and Jeff 😍 Sometimes David... depends on the skin.

  • You are right that these perks don't stop camping and tunneling. They are there to help survivors in a tight situation and thats it. A killer that wants to camp/tunnel will do so and no perk can stop them.

Buffing anti-x perks is also not the solution. The reason DS was nerfed because survivors were abusing it. Same goes for BT. I often see survivors openly running for unsafe hooks. Of course I go after them... I'm not going to pretend I didn't see them. When they get the unhook I try to hit that person but of course the unhooked will block with BT. I don't camp or tunnel yet I was being hit with these perks because survivors were playing with them offensivly and didn't give a damn if I saw them running for the unhook. Since the DS nerf I haven't been it with it. It was a good change.

If anything is to change there needs to be more reasons for killers to leave hooks and alternate hooking survivors. Devour, Make Your Choice, Pop, BBQ, these are all good perks to encourage the killer to leave the hook area. I would love to see more perks that encourage the killer to not tunnel or camp (that are not tied to hex).

  • Its fine the way it is. The way I see it if you are last person caught it doesn't matter how many times you have been hooked. Your caught, games over.

As a survivor its a good idea to not be that last guys with no hooks. Unless the killer is tunneling you should do your best to spread out the hooks with your team. Its not about staying safe from the killer all match, its about escaping as a team.

If you really want those struggle points take a hook for your team.

  • 90% of the time I give hatch to last person. If I realize the last 2 are swf i will let both of them go. I just don't take killer seriously enough to care.

When I play survivor I get a lot of sweaty killers so I always thinks its a fresh of breath air for survivors when they get a 'nice' killer like me.

    Other survivors shouldn't be salty if they 'aren't the chosen one(s)'. Killers are too sweaty and now they too nice... is there even a perfect killer player out there? Damn... impossible standards ;_;

  • My main girl looking amazing! She looks the best so far!

  • Killer

    Bloody Gambit

You become obsessed with one survivor.

If you hook the obsession before the second generator is done Bloody Gambit activates. Every generator you kick will loose 10% progression.

If you fail to hook the obsession before the second gen is done Bloody Gambit deactivates for the rest of the trail.

    Survivor

    Break Free

For every survivor you safely unhook gain a token. For each token reduce the time it takes to escape the killer's grasp by 2 seconds. Loose a token for each unsafe hook rescue.

Once you successfully wiggle out of the killer's grasp once Break Free deactivates for the rest of the trial.

  • I love it. I hardly see it run so when I do get grabbed and stabbed its a good jump scare ^^ I think out of all the killers Myers deserves such an add-on. He is arguably the most iconic killer and Tombstone suits him.

  • I like the Twin's and Freddy. Very satisfying ^^

  • Yes please.

I also miss when his level 1 was undetectable by spine chill. I know why they made the change but it was a nice little extra for Myers.

  • Did killer have bm? Yes. Was its a hostage situation? No.

3 people with 3 gens, with the killer dribbling. You 3 should have been able to get one more gen done in under 50 min.

Just a post to ask people what they would improve about dead by daylight, it doesn't have to be large scale game wide changes it can be simple, or niche as a single killer addon I just want to know what 3 things you would change

Here are mine just to start the party

    1. Change progression so its less grindy, any combination of less perk tiers, and more of a way for players to get what they want would make the game feel much nicer to play all the way from a new players starting to an older player grinding out perks on a character they like
    2. Link survivor inventory between all survivors and killer offering inventory between all killers
    3. Change prestiging to not remove anything, keep all perks, addons, and offerings but set the bloodweb back to level 1 with the new prestige

I love all those suggestions ^^ Especially 2.

Besides your great ideas I would like to see:

    - Updated Shrine of Secrets. Have it showcase a character each week and make all their perks available. Their cosmetics could also go on sale when they are being showcased.

    - I would like to be able to switch killers in the lobby again. I'm a chill killer and like to play all the killers...however I am only really good with maybe 3 of them. When I get into a lobby and get red flags they are swf death squad I want to switch to a killer I feel confident on. I want to give them a good game and for me to have a fighting chance. Sadly right now when I'm playing a killer im weaker on I dodge these lobbies ;-;

    - and last request would be for more legendary skins!

  • I read the whole post and then checked the name. You got me there Sluzzer.

  • @glitchboi said:

I wish they could just disable the perk.

I wish devs could do this. I ran into the first time today and the survivors weren't doing gens... just trying to destroy as many hooks and running to the corner of the map. No fun...

  • Not a main but I do play 50/50.

Playing killer is exhausting because you have a lot of time management on your plate. You are making a lot of split second decisions. On top of that if you want to be a 'good' killer you need pretend not to see survivors swarming the hooks if you don't want to be called a camper... and always go for the unhooker and don't tunnel, etc. There is just a lot on you plate to make sure the match is fun for all. I always see killer as the host of the game. You have a job to do but don't be a dick about it. Of course it gets even more exhausting when you are up against a death squad that just wants to bully you...

Survivor on the other hand you are either safe or you are being chased. There isn't really much to do besides sitting on a gen or being chased. If you are on a gen you have 2 other people you can rely on to go for a save... swf is especially easy because of all the info you feed each other. Tho when I swf I tend to play more goofy lol.

Thats why I flip flop between the two roles. Killer can be stressful and survivor can be boring.

  • Love the Twins!!!! I just got them last week after initially skipping them over. I'm happy I gave them a chance because holy entity they are so much fun!

I play everything so I don't main, but the Twins are my number 1 killer right now. Their power is so unique it has made the game fresh for me and I look forward to mastering them.

My fav thing to do is trap survivors in lockers with Victor.

What is everyone's fav builds with the Twins???? I have barley leveled them up so I'm using their 3 perks and Brutal.

  • Your suggestion is solid but it would still give the survivors power. Sure 2 will vote one map, and 2 will another so that only leaves killer with 2 options which of course would be the 2 most survivor sided maps. The killer would never get their ideal map.

I don't think this game can ever have a map select because of its asymmetrical nature. Plus games with map select always have the same top maps being played which gets boring fast.

We have offerings and tho they aren't a traditional map select they do work for dbd.

  • Gate, Hatch, and Death!

  • Doing gens doesn't stop camping but does punish the killer. By the time the killer has found, downed, and hooked the first survivor, (and then proceed to camp that person through both hook states), the other 3 survivors should have at least 4 gens done easy. Yes it makes for boring game play for everyone but you can't stop people who wanna camp. It sucks, but thats part of the game.

Talking about getting payback to the killer is petty and childish... especially taking the game hostage. If you are first hooked and camped give your team all the time they can to do gens and then move to next game. If you are one of the 3 remaining do gens and move to next game. If the team messes up and gives a killer more then 1 kill then thats on the survivors.

So yes, just do gens and check your rage.

  • Yes the game is grindy but its not P2W. Just like any other online game that has been alive for awhile there is always excess content for new players to go through and they don't have to buy it all upfront. Look at any mmo. A new player will always have 100s of hours to catch up to their veteran counterparts.

I like your ideas! It would be nice to have more ways to earn small amount of shards. Maybe bhvr could release a special edition of the game where they give out enough shards for 2 or 3 characters?

Also the chapters all go on sale from time to time so that also helps new players ^^

I would personally like to see a rework to the Shrine. Instead of 2 survivor and 2 killer perks it would be nice if they showcased a character and all their perks would be available and maybe have their cosmetics on sale (could include your number 1 idea). They could alternate between survivors and killers to showcase each week. I think a rework like that would help with unlocking perks quicker and reduce the grind a tad.

  • I miss getting new maps too, tho I am really impressed with the reworked maps. They look so amazing! I also like the update they did with generators. They look and sound more life like. I like when the devs focus whats already in the game instead of only pumping out new stuff. I think they have reached a good balance with that.

We also got a ton of nice perks on both sides along with good perk updates.

As for the killers I love Blight and the Twins. I don't play Blight because I get a little dizzy playing him but I do enjoy going against him. The Twins are my new fav killer! I initially skipped them but I'm happy I gave them a chance. They may not be the strongest killers on the roster but their power is one of the most unique and fun.

    I was also disappointed with how All-Kill went. I think the Trickster was the most disappointing of all the new stuff added. I hope he gets an overhaul in the future. Being bombarded by his blades is very annoying and playing as him is boring ;-;

You may not like everything that was released but there was a lot of changes and updates. Def one of the best year content wise... also we got Felix! He is my new fav male survivor. Hopefully for the 5th year we will see more male survivors released ^^

  • Not at all. Sadly Evolve didn't last long. DBD has been around for 5 years and has no competition. This game isn't dying anytime soon so I wouldn't worry about it.

  • I am also not a fan of SC. I use Bond instead of it and I never have an issue finding someone to heal me. On top of healing Bond let's me know what is going on around me. It's like a chase indicator, mini kindred, empathy, and Better Together all rolled in one. I think it may be my fav survivor perk.

    That being said people play what they want to play. I just shake my head when I unhook someone and watch them run to the back of the map to SC... makes me extra sad when I have all my tokens on autodidact. I have tried chasing these people to let me heal them but half the time the just self heal and won't let me do it ;_;

  • @worriedfeng03 said:

I would like it if Jane's perk (the name does not come to mind) where her scratch marks are hidden for 10 seconds after a generator is completed would also prevent her aura from being seen as well.

    Thats a nice idea!

  • I would love for it to be open longer ;_; I'm a filthy casual and don't have much time to play during the week.

  • Sounds like Lucky Break on steroids.

I really like Poised! Its a great perk. If you are having a good game its 50 seconds of no scratch marks which is decent!

If it were to be buffed I would say give it more time. Like 15 seconds without scratch marks. The no blood, sound, and haste effect makes it 3 perks rolled into one which is pretty strong.

  • @burntFuse said:

Victor's a bit of an ugly dog, but that's essentially what the twins play like.

That was my thought as well.

Maybe one day the twins can have a hunter/beast skin and victor could made to look like a freaky little dog... maybe like a killer corgi (i can dream).

  • For me its when I get the same map in a row... its not very fun playing the same map 3 times and I will usually stop after that.

If I had to pick a least fav I'm with @tenoresax... Fractured Cowshed can be a real pain.

  • MoM.

It went from god perk to meme perk. I have actually been running it lately and its not very practical ... you have to really go out of your way to get the 3 protection hits which means you are not helping your team towards the objective. It also gives players an incentive to not heal their team mates since that is one way to take a protection hit.

I thinking changing the conditions to MoM will bring it back to meta but not god tier. Maybe somethings like:

    - one protection hit.

    - spend 120 sec on gens.

    - safe unhook

    - heal one health state

Conditions that show you are doing objectives and being a team player... more then just running up to the killer when they pick up a survivor and getting smacked :P

  • You are correct OP.

If the killer's objective was defending the gens the match would end with the last gen completed. Yes it is part of their emblems but its not a win requirement. You can still pip with all gens done so why some people see it as a lose is weird. It would be the same if the killer thought survivors lost because they failed an emblem even tho they escaped.

The big issue is some people think the killer has to earn or deserve the right to have Noed. Its a silly mindset. People rather say the killer failed to kill them before all the gens were done then realizing they didn't get all the totems. Noed is very easy to counter and there are so many perks and add-ons to assist with totems... Yet it is not enough.

Also people hate everything that stops them from winning in this game and if they lose it always someone or something else that is the problem. That is why the forms are filled with nerf posts and Noed is the number one culprit.

  • As a survivor every chest gives me a key or a purple toolbox its nuts!

As killer I have seen a few key escapes but nothing crazy.

  • -Trapper should be able to carry two traps base kit.

    - Traps should be programmed to spawn x meter away from gens, you know, places a killer will actually go. Nothing more frustrating then having traps in dead zones on large maps.

    - My last ideal buff for trapper would be to make traps so they blend slightly into the environment. That way when you are on lighter maps or inside they don't stick out like crazy. Simply making them darker can backfire on the wrong map so making traps able to adapt to the environment colours would be nice. For example, on white tile the trap would slightly lighten.

  • Noed's purpose is to help counter gen rushing and apply strong pressure in the end game. There is nothing else like it and why its a fav perk.

Your suggestion takes away the purpose of the perk and gives survivors too much power in the perks abilities. Its high risk low reward.

On top of that you only get tokens for dull totems remaining. Using the perk would discourage you from running hex builds.

  • I want them to die (in game) lol.

This game gets people all kinds of salty. Killer, survivor, doesn't matter. People have their own 'this is how the game should be played and if you don't play by my rules or ideal then you suck etc etc etc'.

Play how you want and ignore the angry people.

  • I did run it but I found it didn't really help. People play how they wanna play and a perk won't change that.

  • Yes, its very frustrating for both killer and survivor. I have also noticed a lot of dc and suicides as well.

I play a lot of trapper and lately I have seen a suvivor get caught in a trap and then dc... they haven't even been hooked yet. Its happened a few times now... what am I suppose to do? Not use my traps?

  • The survivor handbook clearly states that once you hook a survivor you must proceed to the other side of the map, ignoring scratch marks and noises of survivors running by to go for the save.

Jokes aside you played normally. Don't worry about it!

  • @selflessnea said:

Why does everyone think lucky break resets when you full heal?Have you guys ever ran the perk before?

Hahaha this. I think the perk change is great. I don't think I have ever seen it used so maybe this will be enough for people to be interested in it ^^

It would be op if it could be used all the time but its a one and done perk.

  • Killer: Save the Best for Last

    Survivor: Bond

    Most hated:

Hard to pick since I play both rolls... I guess I will go with Adrenaline. Feels bad having survivors down or injured near end game... you can taste victory... and then WHAM everyone back on their feet and scrambling for the gates.

Thank the entity I rarely see more then one survivor in a group running it, though it is pretty funny when they above scenario does happen.

  • Disagree. Noed is great for new player and advanced players. Its an amazing hex and pairs well with other end game perks. It is much as a 'crutch' as BT, DS, DH, Adrenaline or any other second chance perks survivors have. It gives you a boost when you most need it.

Just like a ton of perks sometimes it flops. The totems all get destroyed or the hex is destroyed as soon as its up. In that case, yes it would have been better to bring another perk but that is just how Hex perks are. High risk high reward. Doesn't make the killer bad, its just how the game went.

As for going against it you could argue that survivors would do better and be less frustrated if they brought maps or perks that counter totems. Noed and Devour are the reasons I run Detective's Hunch :)

That's the beauty of gaming; it attracts people from all walks of life no matter what age.

FYI I'm a 31 year old dad who games after the kids go to bed

30 yo twin mom here. My hubby and I play after the kids are down for the night as well ^^ I can't wait to play games with the kids when they are older.

  • I really wish the game had the option for this. It would be so much fun!

As a killer I would just use it to goof with survivors. How much fun would that be on Hag eh?

As a solo survivor I could finally tell people not to run away after I unhook them because I have We'll Make It :P

  • @Mysterynovus said:

I would give my left pinky toe if it meant BHVR stopped chasing comp sweaty players and focused on making the game fun. If there were more modes, experimental play styles, and big shake-ups to the formula, this game would shoot up in renown much more than if it was some sweaty e-sports starring Sally and Rin.

    Aaallll this. Well said ^^

Exactly ^^ it is great for end game builds which I find very fun!
