The Hags trap range feels way too big.

I've seen hag traps going off when I'm a good foot away from them and when she plants them right next to hooks they're going off and I can't even see the person trying to save me yet.

is this just another thing in the long list of things that just don't work right?

  • There is an add on for Hag traps that increases the radius they can be activated. Maybe that was it?

which actually makes your traps worse, so if anything, this is a bad thing.

Yes but OP was wondering if it was a bug that was causing traps to go off from a distance. I was simply suggesting it may be the add on.

I don't use it myself because you are right, it is not a good add on if you want to land hits when traps pop. It is a good add on for surprising survivors or using the traps to locate.

For the record the hag I was noticing this on was running Zero Perks or ad ons

  • A foot? They are proximity based, you don't need to walk directly over them like Trapper. Plus there are add ons to increase the range.

  • if the traps were shorter, you wouldn't be able to trigger them on purpose and run away without getting hit.

also, they are not big at all.

Ah okay. Then maybe a bug?

  • Hag's trap range is about where it should be. Not too big and not too small.

You can't intentionally trigger them and run away unless the Hag is unable to teleport or is out of range at the time, since they can instantly teleport and hit you otherwise, and will always be in range unless they have the trap trigger range add-ons.

    You can.

You can set them off when the Hag is busy with a chase, carrying another Survivor, etc. Just wait for the Hag to be in the middle of something and go nuts. Sure, they might use one of the teleports, but if they were doing something important, you made them drop it.

  • They are fine they way they are. See it like that. If the radius would be smaller she would hit you out of her teleport every single time.

The radius is big enough to make her land attacks if the surv is not expecting a trap but at the same time let the surv escape if they trigger it on purpose.

Sometimes I see people suggesting to remove traps by hand which should never be implemented. If you know where a trap is just walk up to the border of the trigger radius, activate the trap and run away. This is very effective
