Yh but should it count skill if the goal is an average 50% kill rate? If im more skilled, but dont use the strongest stuff, i should get a lower mmr and weaker opponents.
Well I think balance around kills is a dreadful idea so I'm not the one to ask. I'm the person that would rather 8 individual hooks and 0 kills over 1-7hooks and say 2kills.
Hooks to me usually mean more chases, mindgames, outplays, pressure etc. unlike kills which could be a face camp or even everyone leaving at endgame because they want to raise their mmr

If ratings/ranks mean nothing then why even attempt to draw a conclusion from them in your op?
It doesnt mean a whole lot, but as I said itd be better. I did also state I'd rather individual hooks than kills as that's much better data.
Youd see which killers consistently could get more hooks and new hooks other killers that couldn't etc.
But OP and not hitting even that 60% is a little bad lol

Wraith lowkey was kind of stronger than average. I am not a huge fan of the nerf, at all... But, I mean, it makes more sense than the Deathslinger nerfs. A LOT more sense.
Damn deathslinger with 52% even with "no counterplay" lol. I dunno I agree with @Zozzy about changing all seeing but leaving the base. Only time iv seen a wraith do somewhat okay was using all seeing to reduce mindgames through certain tiles and maps

I wouldn't jump to conclusions purely based on these stats, they include all players, all ratings and ranks.
Not every nerf or buff is related to simply the kill rate of a Killer, there's much more involved.
Thankyou for the picture! Much appreciated!
And sorry but rank means nothing, Escaping doesnt mean skill, sure its be better stats to see but it still doesnt give a great idea due to the way skill is determined means nothing sadly.

I really hope they have more data on how some kills happen. Cause seeing pinhead on top of that list while knowing how many people simply DON'T OPEN THE GODDAMN BOX and then complain about the chains....
Pin was still 55 roughly like all the others, just picked more as he was the newest chapter added to the game. Usually how the stats go with a new release
-
Kills and escapes = wins.
More kills means better killer
More escapes mean worse killer
Basically ignore any skill factors and go of who kills more regardless of anything else.
-
No.
Honestly puts me off playing. Like what's the point in even having it if it's not on skill. Nothing is more a kick in the balls that you doing insane chases and lots of gens and carrying a game to die on first hook while others escape and be told you lost. Like no I didn't. And the less you escape the worse teams youd get, worse teams means less Escaping etc.
ITS A JOKE!
btw my nemesis is still stupid high mmr and iv barely played him. Thanks for sharing my nurse mmr with him :)

@DeadSlinger said:
Probably, since MMR on new killer is lower compared to the killers you've played,
the system gives you ez survivors... who are AFK...
You need to 4K them to move forward to another match, where the chances to find non-AFK survivor are higher.
Killers have a shared mmr, well they share some of it, for example I'm really good with some high tier killers and near max mmr but iv never played nemesis yet hes also placed very high due to my other killers, it sucks lol
-
I get it, it's they cant be banned.
They're just a toxic player being an arse for no reason other than a god complex.
So please stop blowing up my notifications, I appreciate some of you are genuinely letting me know but I dont need to read the same thing 200times and I'm not able to delete the post personally.
-
I'm mean you're not wrong, this is why mmr shouldn't be shared though so you can play other killers.
It's kinda a joke some basic attack killers iv never played (nemesis) is put roughly at the same level as my nurse due to shared mmr.
I'm sorry but nemesis is a joke, zombies dont work. His ability takes 3 hits, hes tall and loud and you'll be lucky to get fast downs against players nurse might struggle with lol

Holding the game hostage would be blocking you in the corner of the map before EGC starts. The game will eventually end so it's not holding the game hostage.
You say that, but that's happened before and nothing happened to the player. I physically had to dc as they trapped me for roughly an hour... I legit went out shopping and came back to the same game trapped.
Honestly feel like an actual in game report system that works should be put into place and then devs can check the actual game. Like how are hackers still so freely playing....
This is the sort of toxicity that shouldn't be allowed, even if it's just holding the game hostage for 2mins odd

Slugging isn't a bannable offense.
Yeah but that's during a trial, this is clearly trying to be both toxic and hold the game hostage as much as possible. This is clear by my image and him watching while I'm the last survivor

Just watched me the whole time...

Theres survivor daily challenges???
Hmm, lucky! God forbid I need to fully charge attack as demo or send people to cages which seems to be the only challenges existing lol

I'm so disappointed that nobody wrote on this thread "I don't know, I can't remember it" :(
For me, the perk I forget exists is Beast of Prey, I see it in my perk list and I always have to look at it to remind myself about it - I just can't seem to remember that perk and don't think I've ever used it.
Oh mandy! That's a tome challenge! How could you forget!
As for the OP. Sole survivor.... I cant even remember its effects
-
Because it's not balanced? Plus SBMM is awfully done?
You dont even have to play a certain killer but if you're a god nurse that killer will be stupid high mmr even though they cant compete there at all let alone you have 0 hours on them.
Plus it's not the kills, it's the fact some games you get such little hooks/escapes because you was miss matched or the map, tiles etc. Qasnt in your favour.
Rng and bad balance makes its nightmare

Terrified of buffing one of the weakest killers in the game? Then BHVR is truly out of touch with their own game.
I mean we know they are...
We balance for players that cant loop well and often get stuck on everything because they struggle looking behind...

Oh I get it. I never go into a trial expecting to win (on either side). What I do expect is a CHANCE to win. The odds of getting 4 solo's that can deal with the Pinhead combo is lottery chances. Not really sure how I can better explain this. Maybe the killer glasses need taken off the forums so everyone can understand both sides a little better. Sorry the excuse of Hoarder is only good on him don't work.....Stridor was only good on one killer and it got nerfed. Defend it all you want it will get nerfed at some point in some way.
Well I play both sides, and I can assure you that chance to win isnt the case for alot of killers especially when you get higher in mmr. That's not even taking into consideration swf, bad maps, tile spawns etc.
But nerfing a perk that's god awful (already been nerfed) just because of 1 killer is terrible. Some killers should be harder to beat, we allow nurse but not him? Who actually requires the same skill aim wise and certain perks to do well.
I'm just saying when it's okay to hate and quit against 1 killer, people will do the same against a killer they dont like.

Makes no sense. Where did i say this? Not worth any further response.
He means because you already give up verse that pinhead build, as in you act defeated before the games actual outcome, seems like you expect to win verse him.
Or at least that's what I'm guessing he means

I play solo's. They can't handle this and chain hunts should not be activated that easily. It's unnecessary and yes it sucks it's the only place hoarder is useful but the combo is wayyy to strong. Also let's not pretend any of you get a team good enough to get past it often. Most teams are garbage even with their comms.
I play solo too, only issue iv had is the pug of infinite chains when trying to solve the box. And many people can play very well against him, issue once again mmr sucks and if people give up or cba to try then its expected to be a loss. But this isnt even about pinhead, people are giving up for no reason even when we're clearly winning
-
Honestly he great after the PTB.
Theres a bug when solving the box you get hit by infinite/way too many chains too often which breaks the game.
Other than that it's good theres a strong killer for a change, not every killer should be weak, plus seeing a killer use hoarder/Franklin's is great! But I'm sure we will nerf something so hes so weak he cant beat alot of players as per. Only nurse is allowed to be top tier apparently

Hard to tell, if they didnt said why they left after the game.
You said the game was going well...but was it really going well for the person who killed themselves?
I'm not being funny you should never just give up, I play on console and times my controller dies before I can even begin a chase or when iv picked up a survivor. I dont give up, and well anyone who wants a 5gen chase every game should just stop playing lol.
@chargernick85 said:
I have had a couple teammates do this when we were doing great....which lead to us loosing a trial we shouldn't have. I DC for the first time Sunday against a Pinhead with Franklin's/Hoarder. Two teammates quit because of it and I followed (Really couldn't blame them). Played against another last night and it took all my might not to do it again. I'm sorry Pinhead mains but that combo is a free win especially against solo which I am. It should not be possible for chain hunts to be active most of trial. Getting off subject here so I'll stop.
You cant be mad at that, quitting because of a build seems a little silly personally. Like I get it, it's good and works well on him, but it's the only killer hoarder is useful (this perk already got nerfed) and just a decent team can still beat this, you just have to play smarter. I feel it's nice to see another killer be strong for high level especially a liscene. But giving up solves nothing
-
But they balance around survivors who dont play well? They want survivors who arent efficient, cant loop and not very good in chase to escape...
Sure seems like survivor is the focus, but it is the vast majority of the game so...

DC punishment did his job, so when tilted players go mad they suicide on hook.
@ShinobuSK said:
Because they are already high enough rank and dont have anything to play for? Its easy to suicide on hook if match dont go their way from the start.
Cant see their mmr and even if they did, no point in raising it more. I think people will get to a certain point every rank reset, when they stop caring about the outcome.
But the killer has like 2downs and we have already have 2 gens done and more being worked on.
Like game wise we was doing well and far ahead of the killers objective it's so stupid, we also got the ruin etc. Early as hell
-
RNG, iv had some haddonfield maps where hardly any pallets spawn near the cars/garages plus the windows all change as well.
I hate the map as both sides, still far easier as survivor imo
-
Love some of the ideas people are coming up with, if we even get any addons close to this I'd be insanely happy, might use something other than just range addons lol
-
DS is fine. It's a good anti-tunnel perk, they cant progress the game so... just make sure you know they have done something or slug them...
-
@Blueberry said:
Even 6 hooks would be VASTLY more accurate to balance around than 2K.
Balancing around 2k you can literally just face camp 2 people to death before the gates are open and make it look like a "balanced match". There's just so many factors that get you "kills" that don't equate with "balance" whatsoever.
Agreed, it's why the hook counter bothers me. You cant see individual hooks, so if someone gets to next state or quits you still get hook states.
Be better if fresh hooks was white and next stage/DC was red.
But as for balance I do agree hooks mean more than kills, but when you get such bad maps and RNG it can even impact that. But hooks will always be better, like i said before hooks can mean more hits, chases, mindgames, outplays etc. Which are not only more fun but show the skill more
-
Cant you only save 1million BP?
I mean I have roughly 800k (always do for new content drops, get the last 200k a day before)
And I have challenges saved from level 4 in this tome. Am I missing other ways? Like a BP code or something I can save?

So you’d prefer 8 hooks and 0 kills over 7 hooks and 2 kills? Interesting.
Back to the OP, the balance should be 3 kills (preferably at least 9 hooks) and 1 escape TBH. Killer is supposed to be the power role and survivors should be scared of the killer. This may be an unpopular opinion, but escaping so be a thrilling experience because you outlasted a horrifying situation, not basically a guarantee if you have a good team. Instead we have t-baggers at the exit gates clicking flashlights. Playing survivor doesn’t feel like I’m playing a “survivor”, it feels like I’m playing Pallet Loop Simulator.
Yeah, that 1 extra hook likely means an extra chase, maybe more hits, mindgames, outplays, nice hits/baits all of which is fun and entertaining.
Dont get me wrong getting kills is cool but kills isnt a fun determination, if had games where I have got a 4k, but it wasnt fun especially how I was forced to play to get it (dont usually 4k as I always give hatch but some challenges/adepts require it)
@C3Tooth said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2542315#Comment_2542315
Hook count is relative in this game. First death can be between 3-9 hook. Two death can be between 6-10 hook. Three can be between 9-11 hook. And those numbers arent count camping.
Its somehow 'manageable' for Killer to have 12 hooks if a survivor dies at Killer's 3rd hook (tunneling). Which sound 'good' but its not fun for that survivor. I would say the balance should be the first survivor dies at Killer's 6th hook at least, with kill rate of 60-65%, to keep the fun for both sides.
Indeed but I'd say hooks show more than kills especially on a more common basis. As for your % I'd say it depends on the skill level you're saying, as killer likely do better low/mid than higher ranks. A 65% at a high level sounds interesting. Usually if I'm against a really solid team I say 6hooks is a win especially as weaker killers so I'd like that little bit more to try boost to that 7/8hooks if possible. Kills are meh
-
Btw I'd love someone to actually explain it or maybe a dev. I'm honestly confused to why they contradict so much.
Personally I'd take 8hooks 0kills every game over 2-7hooks and 2kills
-
@Anniehere said:
We're not going to have a fun match if it doesn't go in our favor, unless we don't care about winning.
Right now those who play as killers, they're not having fun because they are barely get 1 or 2 kills.
I guess their mentality remained as it was even before the system was changed to SBMM. They come with a mentality that they are going to "win" in that match but in this game there is really no winner.
They can have fun with hooking survivors and not getting a kill.
Personally i find it fun and if i manage to get a kill, it's more fun but not a big deal.
It's very easy to enjoy this game but it has become a kind of competition.
My stress and frustration stopped completely when i decided to have fun with the match and not care about winning.
I'd rather hooks over kills, hooks mean I was able to do chases and a good game, kills just mean I could of camped or used noed etc. 2kills can be 2hooks, but it can also mean 10hooks.
Hell I'd take 9hooks and 3 people escape every match. Kills isnt important to me, fun and game length is. An example is my nemesis is in stupid high mmr (can tell by their movement) but if not played him, so it's very unfun to try learn him and get 2hooks, verse the same team as a killer I know and can play I can do wayyyy better.
-
I can have fun as killer providing:
No bs map.
If I use a totem build they dont get spawned on/next to gen
The killer I'm playing hasn't randomly been put in a stupid high MMR even though iv never played them.
Theres no BM, I honestly just hate the type of people that wish to ruin the killers or other people's experience. Be a grown up and treat people with respect.
Honestly both sides can be fun, survivor I feel is just more fun and stress free usually because you focus on you and how you're doing, and if you play well its shown unlike killer where you naturally manage more in a game, and the idea that some matches you just have to loose because you didnt have meta, the map or your killer cannot compete at such a level.

Removing Pinhead's chains is mapped to the action button on console, so it's the same button as throwing and vaulting pallets. This causes the survivor to vault directly into Pinhead when trying to remove chains at a loop.
Just face away from the pallet, once the button is pressed you can turn back as it's now locked to the chains first. Admittedly it's an annoying feature though, would be better as a right trigger (use item button)
-
Better than it use to be. But when mmr is based of things like Escaping then it's kinda silly. I started of with people who never done gens or able to loop when I'm legit doing 5min chases lol.
Alot needs to be base thats for both sides. The sad part is with certain maps or tile spawns killer is stupid rough.
Coms is a huge advantage on efficiency and if SBMM works then a swf will be wayyyyy harder than solo because no weak link equals a rough game.
In serious though its teammates that are the issues, not killers etc. All it takes is 1 person not to do anything and just hide and avoid gens or selfcare in a corner and it destroys the game. But even giving things base wont change how they play...
I use kindred and I'll still get games where multiple people get of gens with ruin active to get me. That's not ruin, the killer or solo queue, that's bad teammates and you cant buff them to change how they play.
-
I love resident evil, played 1 silent hill and got lost and bored in a fog town for an hour lol.
Imo I feel like silent hill suited DBD better, you get a great concept, the killer looks great, power works good and is great while with resident evil I dont feel the same. I live resident evil (cant wait for the remake of 4) but it didnt fit in as well, not sure why, probably just dont think nemesis fits as well or is betrayed as well
-
Should be a thing for sure. How is it fair my one time hex gets spawned on or spawns next to a gen in the open but survivors can pick where and when while still being able to replace them over and over.
I know there are more survivor mains and alot are entitled but at least be fair and look at balance. Not to mention being able to play your hex could be a great new playstyle, people could save ruin for close to the end, or maybe place a haunted if they're in a struggle mid game to try turn the tide etc.
-
@Marc_go_solo said:
There's something to be said about "strength in numbers" mentality. If the killer isn't threatening enough, then survivors will feel braver. You'll note that when faced with a good killer, survivors are less likely to taunt them. Take away fear = take away threat = take away power. The roles reverse.
I also put it down to the mentality of the individual at the time of playing, experience with previous trials, vendettas and other aspects that can fire up players into becoming less sportsmanlike.
And there's also how people perceive others. For example, a clicky-clicky survivor can be seen by the killer as "toxic", when actually the survivor is being tactical because they want to protect a survivor who doesn't play as well and is being tunnelled. In fact, that survivor is being tunnelled because the killer may be feeling they're under pressure from survivors under the presumption that they're on comms.
The reasons for actions can be interpreted in many ways, and really it always comes down to subjective reasoning. If people think objectively and with sonder, then not only will poor sportsmanship reduce, but perception of actions will change.
You'll never add fear to most killers, survivor is just naturally easier and more chill especially when you reach a certain level of play. I guess more fear is stronger killers but those arent allowed in DBD as well still go off bad data of 2kills, 2 escapes
But I dont get the strat you say of purposely trying to annoy, they do it when alone and at the exit. It's in game BM and it's just abit annoying and unnecessary. I have sensitive eyes and ears, so much so I try to avoid certain killer due to sound/visuals.
Iv played enough to not get tilted by such BM, that doesnt mean it's not annoying or cant be removed/reduced for a better experience
-
Just add a cool down to things like flashlight clicking and t-bagging etc.
Then also award people like those camped for the whole match ( if killers in X metres gain distraction BP, splits in all categories etc.) Sure you still get face camped but you get something from it
-
Horders kinda a waste if you double stack the solving time.
Honestly it's kinda funny how you see so many people want the killer nerfed or the build gutted. Like you want Franklin's and hoarder nerfed? What a joke lol.
I dunno iv versed quite alot of pins even with the fang and it's never felt oppressing or OP and usually that killer only wins because people give up against it.
It's just annoying strong killers arent allowed or new perk synergies with certain killers shouldn't be allowed. Like come on, not every killer should be weak against good survivors. If you're bad at the game obviously a strong killer will be good against you. I see people that just run forwards and dont look behind them and call for nerfs... there should be strong killers as well as weaker ones. And useless perks shouldn't be nerfed because they work on 1 killer.
-

Sluzzy's freedom of speach is too strong, it could use a toning down.
Ok but seriously, LF is one of the best balanced killers in DBD. If you're looping smart, you can stall him for long time and he enforces some very cool mingames if he plays well.
He's a good killer, we want those since then we have varienty and it's not only spirit, nurse.
I'd say hes not that good, like against lower skilled players sure but I feel when people understand timings, loops, joining tiles etc. Then he becomes far weaker.
Love seeing my bubba though, love the films and love hearing him get stunned lol, sadly I never see him :(

If I play killer I just go system shutdown mode and afk if no one is making a single mistake I can profit on.
At first it was fine but the more I play the worse it gets, losing doesn't change anything for me. Everything stays the same pretty much.
Maybe I am being negative and only focus on bad stuff but I am already burned out and will probably go on a long break again. Didn't play today at all.
This happened before to me so it might have nothing to do with sbmm. It is probably just toxicity slowly getting to me and I need to recharge before I can enjoy the game again.
The issue is it's only an issue with certain killers (the ones iv not played and arent viable against really good survivors yet in versing them) like I dont mind going against good players but not as a killer iv not played or where the killers just not viable

I feel too much is shared, like I dont care much else about the game but this just puts me off learning killers I haven't played because whatever reason they was thrown in the deep end where they probably couldn't do well even if I knew how to play the killer insanely well so when I try with 0 experience it's just pointless...

I'm not quite sure what your point is, but the fact you dont know the grading/mmr is different shows you arent close to the people I'm versing sorry

-
I play him sometimes, honest one simple change (reduce charge time by a small %) would make him good again, the fact it takes so long to charge hurts your curves, it just makes you have to mindgame 5x more to get that curve.
Sure curving is cool and you feel good landing them, but damn the time wasted. I miss versing billy as I haven't seen him in months, playing him is... stressful? Unrewarding? Just not how it should be
