Bond and Empathy are still fine as is. I would rather run them over the new Vigil I had in mind since working together is less efficient anyway.

They're still fine, but given the high probability of status effects, you'd be better off with your Vigil and scooping up that recovery buff for everyone too.

I know a lot of Killers run Sloppy Butcher. I like to call these people “meta slaves”.

    Lol. If you say so.

Is this the new rule from survivors: killers can't run perks that compliment each other?

You think I give a single damn about NOED being nerfed? I hate that ######### almost as much as I hate Decisive Strike.

Then, by all means, make it clear in your perk suggestion. Some will agree, some will disagree.

  • I think Stridor's usefulness depends on a) your reactions and how quickly you process auditory information, and b) the quality of your headphones/speakers.

I ran it on Spirit for a while and then sacked it off. Never caught anyone with it. Now I use Sloppy+Nurses and have much better results. Will swap out Sloppy Butcher for Lightborn if I see flashlights.

  • Related: Just how do you mori spam on PS4? Only ever seen one person do it (not even tried myself), and it just so happens that this particular survivor really really deserved it.

  • Maybe.

I've wanted Vigil for a while (just to play with) so in a sense, I'm happy. However, I expect it to be useless...

Stridor - got it, hate it.
Leader - not worth a slot, IMHO.
FIre Up - meh. I don't think it's powerful enough to be worth bothering with.

  • I'd be interested to see what would happen if Vigil could enable recovery from exhaustion while crouched and running, if you're not in a chase.

I know they brought in Exhaustion to deal with looping, but since other steps are also being taken there (map changes, reduction of pallets, "fixing" vaults etc.), maybe there's more wiggle room than there used to be?

  • @Milo said:
But how is noed or rancored nerfed exactly?

As soon as they trigger, anyone running Vigil (and you'd be a fool not to, this new one is great) can see the auras of remaining survivors - giving them a greater chance of team plays that are very difficult unless you're SWF.

Decent SWFs teams protect the obsession against Rancor, but now everyone will be able to do it much easier.

Same issues for Myers too I guess. Every time he gets EW3, people have a free Bond. Haunted Grounds is now a free Bond too.

Maybe "indirect nerf" wasn't exactly the right way of putting it. But hopefully you can see what I'm getting at.

  • @Peasant said:
Eh, at the very least, you can always run the Bard build: Bond, Leader, Streetwise, and Vigil.

What's the idea behind that one? Be a support role?

I'm starting to think about different things like this now. Previously I just liked to blast around the map and work alone. But running Bond during the Blight has given me a new perspective.

  • You've just made Bond and Empathy not worth running. I'd suspect enough people would use this Vigil as to make Kindred dead as well.

Lots of killers run add-ons or Sloppy Butcher for mangled/hemmorhage, so you've just buffed healing after the devs "nerfed" it.

Edit: And indirectly nerfed NOED and Rancor.

I've been having nothing but issues trying to buy Leader from the Shrine of Secrets. Apparently every other perk on the Shrine is okay, but that's the cursed perk that is refusing to be bought right now.

Sorry. All our Dwights are unavailable to teach you at the moment. Please hold while we search some lockers.

have never seen a survivor dc unless the killer was being a dick

Or another survivor. Some people just love to f*ck with others, even if the entire "team" loses out because of it.

  • Seems a shame to make auras even more powerful in a game like this, but it also seems like a necessary step to help with the disparity between the solo queue and SWF.

  • Hallowed Blight tie-in is "apparently" Chapter 11, not 10.

AFAIK We've had no clues as to what's coming next.

  • @Khalednazari said:
Vigil was so good before the exhaustion nerf. I hardly see anyone use it now. I hope it gets buffed in some different way in future.

I have no idea whether I'll end up using it much. But will try a few different things with Vigil III and see what I think. 20% boost isn't bad, but whether it's worth a perk slot... people say no, but I'll see for myself.

  • I do this fairly often. Or I'll complete a daily (e.g. shock therapy, dash attack, land a hit after phasing etc.) and then can't be bothered to kill people so I run around trying to think of fun things to do to keep those sour-puss survivors entertained. Easy as Piggy.

Back on PC and when my PS4 profile was public, I'd still get hate mail.

I think the screen should go black once it's 1v1 and an old school game of pong starts

Or start a virtual arm-wrestling competition where both have to button mash. That'd show who really has the determination to sit there and claim the hatch.

  • Test it on the wife.

    "Why you in a mood?"
    "I'm not in a mood."
"Yes, you are. You're being a ######### pain."

    And see what happens. ;)

  • No problem this morning on PS4.

Picked up Vigil. I've wanted to try it for a while, but not enough to spend a load of BPs in Golumn.

Saw III. Amanda's Infamous, "Are you going to behave?" quote.

She's just full-on mint in III. Probably the main reason why I love it so much.

Didn't like some details of the ending, but at least subsequent films softened it a little. (Being careful of spoilers here).

  • Both sides are at fault in this. The survivors could try and finish the gens, but most won't. They're more than happy to get into that stand-off, so don't blame some killers for being just as stubborn.

  • @SnakeSound222 said:
He also walked around unmasked. I was fine with the damaged mask just showing part of his face, but not him taking it off for a long time and just walking around without it for no reason.

Yeah, that was odd. I wasn't bothered about the lack of mask, personally. As @Doc_W__HOLLIDAY stated, Tyler was a great bit of casting. His build and presence actually made this idea of a human who is seemingly indestructible seem believable.

The problem, IMO, with this aspect of H2, was why wasn't Myers bothered about the lack of mask? We know Myers doesn't feel like himself without it - a fact Rob makes perfectly clear in the first film - so it doesn't make sense to me that he'd be so happy wandering about without it later.

We saw Myers without the mask in Halloween 4, but the first thing he did was put it back on. It's important to him.

I have not seen the first Rob Zombie Halloween yet, but I have the director’s cut on DVD (I plan on skipping over that scene).

Definitely watch it. It really is good.

Sheri is ok in that one, where her role is nice and confined. But why they let Rob run crazy with the sequel!?! WHY?!?!

(I'm a huge White Zombie fan btw. Less so of his solo stuff.)

  • Killer is a tough choice: Going for Julie Walker from Return of the Living Dead Part III. Almost went for Pinhead or Sadako.

Survivor: Lena from Annihilation (yeah, I just want Natalie Portman)

Map: Shipwreck Cove from Pirates of the Carribean. (You never said horror series). Lots of cool layout possibilities (angled floors, hiding places etc.) in a map made up of broken ships.
OR the shopping mall from Day of the Dead.

  • If BHVR are too strapped for cash to get more licenses etc. then they could try being open with us.

E.g. We can get you a new Pig cosmetic but it'll cost £20 and you'll have to pre-order it 3 months in advance so we have the cash to secure the deal.

It's not what we're used to seeing from software houses, but it is an option.

  • @Master said:
Well the survivor can go afk too and come back later. The killer has to be ready to respond if the survivors jumps in

Yeah, but if he actually leaves the room, the killer can hit, cooldown, hit and pick-up. Whereas killer can full-on bugger off, block the hatch, and the survivor can't do anything (well... he could go off and do gens, I suppose).

Bit hypothetical since you'd never know if the other person has really put down the controller and left, or not.

It's a dumb scenario for both. Not something I ever participate in TBH.

Edit: Many edits, because I can't type for ######### today.

  • @Biohazard916 said:
Yeah cause that will take forever... No one will bother doing that.

And yet they will stand there for as long as it takes for the killer to hit them and let them escape during the cooldown/invulnerability period.

It's not the time that survivors aren't prepared to waste. It's that if they're on gens, they're vulnerable. But if the killer and survivor are both on the hatch, the survivor is safe.

The only advantage the killer has, is that they can legit AFK (e.g. go for a smoke/toilet break) and body block the hatch. The survivor has to be ready (ish) to respond if the killer hits them.

I never play with a Quentin.

    What's a Quentin?

Yeah, I know, I use this joke every time. Never see Bill anymore, but that's because play on PS4 these days. :)

Surprised how few people play Tapp. He's kind of a cool-looking fellow. Though I'd love to see a DLC where the survivor was the selling point instead of the killer. Guess it'd have to be licensed. E.g. An Ash DLC would sell even with a basic deadite killer.

  • Rin released a song the other week - it hasn't sold well. Vocals are a bit pitchy, but it has a great hook.

  • What really gets up The Shape's nose?

Bogies, man. (Or boogies for you yankies).

Edit: Minor edit to make it "funnier".

  • Stolen, but what the hell. Figured this thread needed an actual joke in among all these f*cked up pics. :)

What has thousands of ears but can't hear?

    Coldwind Farm.

    Samara Morgan (The Ring)

Am I the only one to cringe everytime I read this? Sadako, yes. Samara, no. :)

  • Barbed Hook

The entity makes shoddy gear. You, however, know how to make a decent hook. Once per match, with no visual indication, unhooking a survivor causes fatal injuries. If the unhooker is a Jake, he gets a splinter in the eye and has the Blindness status effect for the remainder of the trial.

Ok, I know what you're thinking... the last part is a little OP.

  • Megs (Likes):
    1. Trappers stepping in their own traps.
    2. Killers who unexpectedly do mad, fun stuff.
    3. Watching a Jake's head pop.

    Jakes (Hates):
    1. Being hook-farmed against a try-hard killer who doesn't even attempt to seek justice.
    2. RNG - always crap bloodwebs, always fail to escape traps, survivors always get out of my RBTs too quickly.
    3. Getting the same map every single match. (I guess that's RNG too... will think of another)

    1. SWF - I have no friends, so as a survivor it's no use. And it absolutely sucks when playing killer.

Yeah but it would be more attractive if it got some kind of useful change

Totally agree, but the devs can't buff all of these kinds of perks. Or rather, they could, but then they'd have to nerf some other perks and buff killers etc. So the whole thing becomes much more complicated.

I'm pretty convinced that some perks aren't meant to be used (by the average, solo-queuing survivor) once you hit the point where you're collecting teachables etc. But sometimes they become useful again later in odd builds.

E.g. Unbreakable on its own, I find useless. Unbreakable + Tenacity, I've seen work. Never tried it myself though.

Can't think of any use for Boil Over other than getting up the nose of killers during the Blight. Except for those running Iron Grasp and Agitation.

Altho, if we gon' talk horror. I can't decide between the og saw and saw ii, you could say I can't make my choice I'll see myself out now...

Saw III is probably my favourite. After that, they go downhill but are all decent films. Even Jigsaw surprised me, I was expecting that one to be utter pish.

  • Gideon Meat Plant.

I don't like it with Piggy (although it should be ok with her), it's a pain with Huntress, and the only other killer I play regularly is Spirit. And it's a pain with her too.

Have played it with Hag a few times, and had very easy games - lots of dark, unobvious places to trap that survivors like to run through.

Its deffo in the 100 celebrate video. Think also the one before that.

It was shown, briefly, in the Top 100 #2 video, but it wasn't the full thing. In the original, the killer pans round to reveal all the crouching Bills, and then they start circiing him. It's a couple of minutes long.

But I'll re-check the origninal Top 100 vid, could be in there. Cheers.

I didn't like 2 very much though. I liked the tattered mask he had in it, but everything else was lame. I hated the whole hallucinations and dreams BS.

We don't talk about H2. Ever. It didn't happen.

(But if it did, which it didn't, it would have been a misguided attempt by Rob to give his wife screen time in a big franchise, at the expense of the whole film. Mercifully, that's all just a horrible dream and the movie was never made. NEVER)

  • Username does not check out. ;)

    Come at me.

I run OoO in almost all survs and lot of killers just move away from hook, turn around, wait for rescue and
    back.

Not going to argue, I suspect most killers do this.

I don't, honest. But quite often I've barely made it a few steps from the hook before someone completes the unhook. Don't have BBQ + Chilli so, at this point, there's a good chance that I only know where two people are. First one I see is getting chased, unless Nurses Calling picks them both up and I get a choice on which one to attack.

"Hey Bill, will you die for me already? Pretty please?"

LOL. If I see your aura stop moving, or dancing around on the spot, I'll assume you're ready for a hatch escape and will die on hook. Good luck, friend.

  • Yeah, learned the hard way myself - don't hide in lockers against Freddy.

  • Yeah, but survivors really do be like...

    image

  • IMO The biggest mistake in this event was making the outfit rewards too grand. So much effort went into the Blight skins that they had to make them available in the store... so they indirectly placed a monetary value on harvesting serum.

Surprise surprise, when real money was a factor everyone prioritised harvesting and a lot of people seemed to take pleasure in denying others.

  • @The_Crusader said:
I just feel each side pushes the other more and more to the "not giving a damn" mindset.

That's exactly what happens. I used to let people go all the time - because a few funny, nice killers did it to me and I realised how much fun it is when people don't try so damn hard. Then, as I played more killer, the mob-mentality from survivors wore me down and I found myself giving away fewer and fewer hatches, and not engaging with survivors in any entertaining way.

Edit: And, as a survivor, I've been camped and tunneled so much that it's hard to be nice to killers when playing the other side. Or when I've been screwed by a teammate, but the killer punishes me for it. Breeds bad feelings.

I try to force myself to do fun stuff these days. In the hope that the beneficiary takes that fuzzy feeling into their next match and does similar.

    I don't think it's working.

  • @The_Crusader

I think we've all had matches like that. Definitely sucks.

Sometimes it's worth just letting the killer have the kill and get out of there. F*ck it. They'll eventually rank up and get absolutely smashed.
