Nah this guy just wanted me dead. He's a tool.

Yeah, it happens. Plenty of them around.

Killer didnt just camp the hatch. They stood on it so i didnt even have the choice of risking entering it.

Depending on the situation, if you can draw a hit you'll escape during the killer's attack cooldown.

The hatch standoff is pretty ######### for the killer too.

Edit: I find most killers who are that desperate (and probably inexperienced) that they stand on the hatch and refuse to move, end up instinctively hitting you when you run at them.

Edit 2: Particularly when you appear out of nowhere and they get a sudden flash of ginger pigtails...

  • @AlphaJackson said:
"A pig (not surprising they're mostly toxic as hell)" Implying that merely playing pig makes a player toxic.

They hate us. Get used to it. :)

Billy gets away with zooming around the map, one-hitting people. But somehow little Piggy causes fury and hatred.

  • 10 attempts in a trial yesterday. I didn't get out, the killer eventually abandoned a chase to come get me.

When the RNG is in the Trapper's favour, those traps are lethal.

  • I think they had an overstock on mori tokens this weekend, and needed to flush them out into bloodwebs. Every Myers I saw was running an Ebony Mori.

Some got to use them, some did not. Was fairly good fun, I suppose.

  • Boil Over falls into the occasionally useful category of perks. Once in a blue moon, it'll pay off. If you buff all of those perks, survivors would be unstoppable.

I've escaped with it a couple of times, but mostly it ends up being useful when you have teammates who love to body block.

  • In red ranks (or SWF) people will often take hits or run distraction for an injured survivor who can't risk another hook... in grey/green ranks, sometimes you have to "help" the other survivors take a hit for you. ;)

Sort of kidding here, but not entirely.

And killers camping the hatch... what else are they supposed to do? Hatch mechanic is somewhat broken, we all know this.

  • Depends on how it plays out, I suppose. Two gens in rapid succession... or an easy patrol point for an aware killer.

What happened? Did you get them done?

  • @Countfunkular said:
Well there's not much else to say.
The devs try their hardest to make an event that couldn't be sabotage but the fans always find a way.

Sadly, true. "We" had an opportunity to play nice (not necessarily farm, just be a bit more forgiving), for everyone's benefit, but "we" didn't.

Killers had no choice but to run those perks - can't blame them for that - those hooks spawned horribly. Personally, I never* pulled anyone off a plant... but it happened to me as a survivor all the time. It's part of the game, of course. But as a survivor, if I noticed a killer had the opportunity to hit me while I was harvesting, but chose not to, I'd make sure he got repaid. Even if they didn't, I didn't wiggle on my way to an event hook or use DS.

Bond was a fascinating perk to run during this event, just to see how far people would go to harvest serum at the expense of their teammates.

Believe me when I tell you that the barbecue was toxic and was a heck of a lot worse but it didn't force people to want to quit out of the game after they get their objective done...did it

Yeah, the BBQ one didn't have half the problems. But it also pretty dull for survivors... doing gens... well, I was going to anyway, obviously. :)

*Unnecessary story behind this one. It's technically incorrect for me to say "never"... but we're talking about killers deliberately stopping people harvesting, which I never did.

  • @Countfunkular said:
When it comes down to the event I'm sadly kind of happy it's leaving because it promoted some very evil plays from both sides.

That was kind of interesting though. Made life... interesting.

Although, yeah, I'm glad it's over. Had my fun, got my gear, and am now looking forward to a bit of normality.

Edit: Maybe would have liked a few more willows and glowing medkits on my P3 chars... but still.

  • @RWoodrow said:
You already can. Hold X and move the left stick.

What?!?!?! What else haven't you told me!?

  • @Wahara said:
It's also hypocritical because the logic you're using is "If I'm going to die, they're going to die" which is beyond selfish.

Wow, you read a lot into one post. Lol. Am not getting into fine detail with you about it all.

Laurie logic - leaves you on the hook for 2 minutes, "seconds away from completing a generator". ;)

    Ugh. You piss me off.

    Awwww.

  • Been having great games against Myers - win some, lose some - recently. So I'll say Myers and Trapper are my favourite enemies at the moment.

Two things I love about Trapper -

    • when he steps in his own trap mid-chase or while carrying you, and
    • when you've escaped, are feeling smug, and run blindly into a trap.

    Happy times.

  • I suicide when I can see no bastard is coming to get me, and I want to give the killer more time to go get the selfish shites.

Edit: On a grey rank profile, either noone is coming or they're going to unhook you right in front of the killer. So, I'll die in peace, thanks. :)

  • @CornChip said:
Or you could have just turned the game off and gone outside lol

Yup, that'd be my approach too. Wait until everyone is loaded in and offerings are spent... then D/C. There you go survivors, you "won".

  • I don't play any other online games (used to play a couple of MMORPGs, but that was years ago). Chap at work was telling me about some of the community (i.e. everyone contributing towards a shared goal) and weekly challenges that some shooting game pish has...

    ... Sounded good to me.

  • @ReneAensland

If it makes you feel better, I had four games in a row where I spawned right next to the hex totem. The first three were Ruin... the last one was Haunted Ground and the whole team got hooked.

    I was not popular.

  • We really will argue about anything on this forum, I guess.

I'll take survivors tapping over destroying my totem any day of the week. If I run Hex: Ruin and instead of slowing the game down while they look for the totem (which, let's face it, will be somewhere obvious anyway), it slows the game down as they all tap through it... All good with me.

Edit: I don't need a visual indication from failed skill check if it takes them 20 minutes to do gens - Whispers, Rancor, Bitter Murmer etc will do just fine.

  • @Divinitye9 said:
That’s what makes Hag fun, though. You are fully immersed in the game and keep everyone on their toes. I love the Hag but you are right, it can be mentally exhausting having to constantly reset traps. It keeps the game fun for me though.

Oh, she is fun. Just too much for me.

Chases are fun though - herd those cats in a direction where you left some traps in places they'll definitely run through. Not needing to panic about loops and losing bloodlust etc. is nice.

  • Had a few games against Wraiths last night, and did MUCH better than usual. @chococri Didn't have to resort to burning the poor buggers, don't worry. :)

Thank you all for the tips. I really appreciate it and I think things are going to be ok.

  • @GodDamn_Angela said:
20-17 isn't even green though lol.

That's what I meant by "getting into". Took me a while to realise I'd have to do everything myself. Lol. Not so bad at that rank if you're perked to hell, but pretty frustrating when you have to rely on others.

  • @DarkWo1f997 said:
Out of all the survivors in the game, the one that makes me feel so terrible for hitting them, is Jake.

    Does not compute.

Hitting a Jake is like the best thing in this game. It fills me with joy and fuzzy feelings.

    I hate Jake.

  • (This is way more fun than working)

    Ventriloquist
Grunts of pain caused by injuries are emitted from the location of the next nearest survivor within x/y/z meters.

"Well tonight thank god it's them, instead of you." - Bono.

  • Attention ######### Seeker
Whenever you are credited with a Distraction, Killer Grasp Rescue, or Killer Blind, gain one token and 1% movement speed increase. Each token increases bloodpoints received in the Boldness category by 25%, up to a maximum of 100%.

  • Just Do The F*ckin' Gens
You're a team player, prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice for the good of your fellow survivors. When hooked, for the duration that the killer is within 8/12/24 meters of the hook, the auras of all remaining generators are shown to all survivors. When your hook progression enters the struggle phase, your aura is removed from the view of others.

Somebody get Herman Carter... eye drops?

why does the trapper have unnerving presence as one of his perks?

    Similarly...

Why does noone invite Trapper round for Christmas? Unnerving presents.

  • @GodDamn_Angela said:
That's possible? Its sooo easy to rank up though, you don't even have to try.

Not possible for a killer, surely!?!

Recently playing on someone else's account as a survivor. And f*ck, getting into and past the green ranks is tougher than I remember. Every other survivor is a complete buffoon. I _lost_ a rank in front of my people, which was pretty humiliating, before I started to crawl up.

  • I like to imagine prestiging and devotion levels are unfinished, and that the devs do have cool plans for them. I usually imagine this first thing in the morning, before the tortures of the day beat all the hope and joy out of me.

  • @Black_Fence said:
Edit: I wouldn't mind a longer cool down because I would use it to break chases and stealth again.

Yeah, exactly. With a decent length cooldown, it's a fair suggestion. May get you out of a scrape, but if it doesn't work then you can't spam it until it does.

  • Buff pebble.

I quite like your idea, but I think the cooldown is short. Dance With Me is 60/50/40, Dead Hard is essentially 60/50/40, and even Windows is 60/50/40. Diversion is basically 45 minimum.

They don't want you extending chases/loops etc. endlessly without skill.

  • @Supernaut said:

Very Return of the Living Dead...

You're not wrong - she's the scariest zombie I've ever seen.

Even Tarman would run from Nea.

  • @Dabrownman1812 said:
You don't need stats, if spine chill is on you for a steady 2 seconds leave. He gets windstorm out if chase, has universal or silent bell. If you run spine chill it doesn't matter.

I love Spine Chill. With most killers I use it just to pull-off slick, stealthy loops around the gens etc. But usually with Wraith it goes:

    1. Spine Chill lights up
    2. I'll just move off this gen a little way and give the camera a quick pan
    3. Bong
    4. Bash
    5. "Get off those plants and unhook me, you little bastards"
    6. Weird wet noises
    7. Bong
    8. Bash
  • @Skarkio

Thank you very much, mate. I really appreciate how much time you spent on that reply and all the advice. GIven me a lot to think about.

Usually I feel like D/Cing when I find out the killer is a Wraith... but hopefully, I'll start to see it as an opportunity for practice now.

  • @Peasant said:
Since you main Meg this should be easy.
    1st. Find the Wraith shimmer
2nd. Burn the Wraith with a flashlight
    3rd Sprint Burst away.

Heh. Got a load of flashlights, time to git gud with 'em. :)

  • @chococri said:
The thing is, Wraith has a little sprint with his reappearence. If he is smart enough he will cloak during chases so you can't really tell where he is at and counter your loop.

Yeah, that's a bugger. Lol. Occasionally I run into great Wraith players, and I don't even mind getting smacked around by them. It's the crappy and average players I expect to do better with... but don't. :)

When I play Wraith, everyone escapes - so he's definitely not OP. Ha.

So my advice is, prevent chases with Spine Chill and you won't suffer.

Will give that a whirl. Cheers mate. Normally I stealth around when Spine Chill hits, but not with Freddy and wasn't sure what approach to take against Bing.

  • @GrannyonAcid said:
I hope not. I cannot wait for this event to be over. Haven't been able to play killer at all for over a week. I'd rather go back to the normal game. Please don't extend it.

I'd hope they have some stats to see how much of the playerbase has got 30/40/50/60 vials etc. before they consider extending it. I think it was a decent event, but really need the game to go back to normal now.

Although... I lost so much rank (not that I really care) between the reset and subsequent complete arseholery that's gone on during the Blight, that if they extended it, even as far as up to the next rank reset, then I'd not be losing out much more. Got two free outfits, will write off the entire month if necessary.

  • Even I complained about the vault changes - am now used to it and perfectly cool with them. And I'm objectively ######### at this game.

Healing changes make barely any difference as a survivor but are a tiny aid for killers.

    Pallets are absolutely fine.

Flashlights nerfed to the ground? LMAO. Play more killer.

looping is exploit, remove self care, noed should be baseline, dead hard must be remove from this game etc...I remember when they changed Alert perk, killers said "they don't deserve buffs gj devs"

That's just people on this forum moaning. Ignore it. You'll even see some people complaining about minor vault/healing/pallet/flashlight changes.

  • @Master said:
I tried to a few games to play normal, then I adapted and employed the same strategy.
Wasnt even really concentrating on the game, but got done so fast that its hilarious

Sometimes in life, you're so rare in number that it's "can't beat 'em, join 'em" or you really are just hindering yourself. It sucks, I didn't like doing it, but what's the point of being the only one trying to play properly in a 5-man game!?

  • @MegMain98 said:
I’ve gotten some pretty good Adrenaline plays.

Oh, I know people do... just not me. Ever.

There are MANY times were the killer slugs and I do not have Unbreakable but as SOON as I put it on I never get slugged. It’s just the way it works most of the time sadly.

    Yup. Life is #########. Lol.

Came close to using it for the first time recently... but Nea f*cked it up for me. :(

  • My favourites: Urban Evasion, Spine Chill (I almost never play without these two), Self Care, and Bond.
Honourable mentions: Borrowed Time, Decisive Strike, Quick and Quiet (or Dance with Me), and Windows of Opportunity.

Adrenaline - almost never pays out for me. You see it on streams and videos all the time, but is very situational. Same with...

    Unbreakable - not once.

  • @Terrortot said:
Nobody wanted to hide in lockers with me.  Why pass up a golden opportunity to play locker hide and seek with huntress?

    God damn try-hard survivors!!!

I hate it when people refuse to have fun. Like if I'm crouching repeatedly as a 5-minute-long greeting, and all you give me back is a single crouch... rude!

  • Brown-haired Kate in jeans? Looks black on MacMillan estate.

    Edit: I want old-school (I mean old, i.e. pre-NIN/Manson) goth Kate.

  • I'm turning the opposite way, I think. The longer the queues get, the less I am inclined to waste the one game I'll get a day on a team who will, almost certainly, outplay me to the point that I may as well not even be there.

  • @ForsakenLemon said:
I can't afford to dodge players,

I guess it kinds of looks like a bit of an accusation from me, which it wasn't. It was more of a confession from when I have to wait in long queues and only ever seem to get presented with SWF death squads.

  • Where there's only two of you left, and Nea is due for her final hook. You're slugged, have positioned yourself next to the hatch, and have Unbreakable at 95%. The grin isn't on your face, it IS your face.

But no. F*ck you Nea! She kites the killer over to you and recovers you mid-chase. Now you're both dead and once again that stupid perk proves to be no use whatsoever. ARRRRRRGGGGHHHHHH!

  • @Raquiem said:
I can tell you're having a joke, don't worry. I do have a sense of humour.

That note was more for everyone else - someone would have eventually read that and started a six-page bullshit rant about killers asking for buffs. :) I knew you'd be cool.

In all fairness, she's a good Killer,

I play her quite a lot - she's probably the most fun killer (for me) unless I need to grief some Jakes (when only a Piggy will do).

I just wish she didn't make so many noises.

Ok... keep this between you and I... but you're probably right. :)

  • @Raquiem said:
The whole problem with the Spirit as a survivor is her constant waah and haah, it's annoying, can't really focus on the game if all I listen to is her making indescribable noises.

If that's the "problem" with Spirit as a survivor then you have it too easy and she clearly needs a buff. :) I'll concede the waaah when seeing blood trails is standard.

(For clarity: I'm mostly kidding around here. Please noone start a buff/debuff nonsense argument again).

  • @Raquiem said:
then she's fine for the Survivor's POV.

Survivors get to tell killers when they can and cannot Waaaahhh now too?! Jeez... ;-)

    SAS. Dodge.
