Guys read the top it says xp not bp people assumed it was bp and jumped on the unbalanced bp amount but xp is more killer sided as you earn more embelmsWell, characters earn levels with bloodpoints. In that sense, bloodpoints are exp. But if he is referring to player level to earn iridescent shards then yes, it doesn't really matter which you play. It's based almost entirely on how long you are in the game. You'll gain player levels approximately equally fast as killer or survivor.

You're dreaming if you think you'll get a refund on bloodpoints spent. They have never refunded past event offerings and I see no reason why they should. It would be a bad decision on their part if they did for a lot of reasons.
What happens if the refund would put you over a million BP? You'd lose all the extra. So people near the bloodpoint cap would ######### about losing out on all those BP even if they gave warning to spend before hand. Then you begin the slippery slope argument of "why can't I get my past event offerings refunded". Even if they did that then people would cry about how they prestiged up a character with a bunch of offerings and lost out on the refund. Then people would start saying, "well if you will refund event offerings, why won't you refund all the garbage add ons and offerings we never use".
It would start a never ending ######### storm for them. That's just a fact. They would be very dumb to step on this landmine. Players are nothing if not predictable with their thinking.

I'd be ok with 3 people max but 2 is a bit too much. Those are some of the worst games. Poor rando gets thrown under the bus by the SWF or the rando does nothing useful. It's a rare game that the random pulls his/her weight and/or doesn't get screwed.

I hope they come up with something cooler than "The Teacher". Even "The Dentist" sounds scarier.

I was making a baseline comparison. The myth is spread by people like you, who throw in massive BP bonuses for one side and compare that instead.
Nope. I used BBQ with killer and WGLF with survivor then used offerings of equal value. On paper the bloodpoint gain should be approximately equal. I didn't sandbag or do anything to taint the results. I played my best with both and the results were very clear.
-
@Orion said:
Experience per trial is slightly higher for Killer because the Killer is the only person who must stay until the end every single time, no matter what. However, experience per minute (the measurement that actually matters) should be more or less equal. This is completely false. Killers earn more bloodpoints by every way measurable. It's not even close either. BBQ is the key. It is like a free survivor pudding every match. With BBQ and no offering you should almost always get 50,000 or more bloodpoints per game as killer. If you have a survivor pudding with BBQ it's in the 70-90k range.
Some people like to spread this myth that survivors gain roughly equal bloodpoints since their lobbies are faster and their games are shorter. It just isn't true. I've done tests and in my games killer got almost double the bloodpoints in a given period of time.

Because maps are designed to have a certain amount of illumination. It's a conscious effort on the devs part on the balance of a map.

They have never once said this. That is 100% speculation on your part. The only known information is "winter". It could come out in January for all you know.
The next chapter should be released in the month of December. We are getting a new chapter every three months. The latest chapter was released in September so therefore the next chapter is expected to be in December.
I expect it would be out before Christmas because it would just be good business sense, but this community has a real bad habit of making assumptions. That other player was saying November. That's how rumors start. People read something and it sticks in their brain and then they repeat it and so on and so on. If you were expecting it in November you might be disappointed and they didn't promise December either.

I play on the PS4 so I didn't have the same lobby wait time issues. I personally, really liked all the cosmetics I got for free. I really liked all those bonus bloodpoints I earned. I will also really enjoy all those party streamers, escape cakes, and survivor puddings I've stockpiled. So overall I'm a fan of the event.
You do have a valid point about boosting killers to ranks they shouldn't be at. They also did make a mistake splitting the vials evenly between killer and survivor. But those are lessons learned that should improve future events.
-
I'm looking forward to what they come up with. They've done a pretty good job with Trapper, Wraith, and Hag buffs. I'm doing the prep work now on Freddy so he'll be prestige 3 and max perks when the patch comes out.

@Dreamnomad - There is no way around the cap, unless someone manually input a number higher than the cap, as with BP compensation. Also, players who've been around the game for a while would have excess BPs to burn anyways. But I can see how it can used to more quickly get the through the bloodweb, where I'm sure there could be implemented ways to deal with this as well.
I don't think you follow what I'm saying here. I'm not saying that you could literally go over the 1,000,000 bloodpoint cap. I'm saying that if they allowed the selling of items/add ons then everything you've already bought is now bloodpoints in the bank. Like a reserve bank that you can dip into any time you want bloodpoints. If I sold all the garbage that I didn't care about, even at 50% then it would be in the 10's of millions.
And think about it this way. If I then spent those 10's of millions of bloodpoints then at least 50% of those bloodpoints would be spent on things I didn't care about and thus would sell as well. Think about how worthless the prestige system would be. I would get to level 50, sell everything and be right back at a million bloodpoints again, prestige, and be right back to level 37, sell all that stuff, make it to level 50 with some more bloodpoints to spare. Prestiging wouldn't mean anything anymore. Everyone could easily get all their characters to prestige 3.
I get where everyone is coming from when they find it annoying having to purchase a bunch of crap they don't want and will never use. But really, you are thinking about progression in this game all wrong. All the crap you don't want is actually part of the price of the stuff you do want. So when you buy everything on a tree to get that ultra rare add on at the edge of the bloodweb, it doesn't really cost 7,000 bloodpoints. It costs 7k, plus 5k, plus 4k or whatever you spent on the two things to get to it. So that ultra rare add on really cost 16,000 and you get 2 consolations prizes. If you think of the games in those terms it won't drive you as crazy.
Even so, there really is an issue with this game once you reach prestige 3 and have all the perks at rank 3. It truly is obnoxious buying perk empty bloodwebs with random garbage when you want to restock add ons. That is why I was recommending some kind of conversion system. It solves the problem in a much healthier way.
-
They got rid of them for good reason. I would be fine with them in KYF, but they don't belong in the normal game.
-
I don't think that the struggle effect should be increased. There is a reason that it is 75% at rank 3. Because that is the same amount as Iron Grasp is for killers. They effectively counter each other. I would however be fine with increasing the range that the hooks auras can't be seen. I think that would be fair. This thread should be in balance feedback though.
-
What I would rather see them do is make a system so that you can convert items and add ons to items and add ons of equal rarity at a bloodpoint cost. Maybe even offer a discount if you have prestiged. So for example, no prestige conversion rate is 100% cost. Prestige 1 would be 75% cost and prestige 3 50% cost. So if I wanted to exchange my chainsaw files for spark plugs it would cost me 3000 bloodpoints no prestige, 2250 prestige 1 or 1500 with prestige 3. This would allow players more flexibility with getting the items and addons they want while still costing bloodpoints at a reasonable rate.
The problem with your idea is that all the extra garbage that players have unlocked would act as a way around the 1,000,000 bloodpoint cap. The second a new killer or survivor came out, players who've been around a while would be able to sell all their garbage at once and you'd have prestige 3 characters on the day they were released. Obviously, that isn't healthy long term.

I get it but they could have done 1000 bloodpoints per serum for the remaining amount. They have been absurdly generous this event as it is. Most events give 2 or 3 total cosmetics and you don't get any choices. This event you get 6 total cosmetics and you get to choose among a substantial number. My recommendation is to pick whatever you think is coolest and be happy.
-
Either use them for what they were intended or don't use them all all. Your choice really. Don't expect some kind of other compensation though.

That would be neat. I usually save up some points ahead of time, but then I'm stuck playing whichever survivor or killer I decide to level up. It would be nice to have some variety as you grind out the event.Exactly! I don't like feeling either coerced into either playing a character I don't want to or putting bloodpoints into a character I don't want to just to participate in the event.

If you want the survivors respect then earn it. Kick their asses hard enough and either A. there will be no exit gates cause they are all dead or B. if an exit gate does show up they will run hard for it cause they know if they don't they will die.

NOED serves an important function for the game. Just the fact that it exists forces survivors to consider looking for all the inactive totems. They don't have to of course, but it is always in the back of their heads. Every game, every survivor should be thinking "is the killer running NOED?" It helps slow down games just a little bit which is a good thing. It also helps survivors become better survivors.
-
Oh yeah, I forgot to reply to this part: "Pallets: revert it back to when you could stun a killer picking up a survivor at whatever point in the animation". I completely agree with this. It is utter and complete BS when a killer gets hit by the pallet and doesn't drop the survivor. When I'm playing as killer and this happens, I'll still hook the player if I haven't hooked them yet for the BBQ token, but I'll take note of the player and give them one "get out of jail free" card. At a later point in the game I'll slug them and walk away. That only seems fair.
-
My kneejerk reaction was going to be "dumb idea". Cause most of the stuff on the forums is. But I kind of agree with a number of your suggestions. I hate your idea about "Mori offering: Remove it completely but add a red mori by default in 4 man swf and a green mori in less than 4 man". Like, REALLY hate it. I definitely prefer the way things are now in that regard. For a survivor buff thread, that is a massive buff to killers. I also disagree with reverting self care. The healing changes are here to stay and for good reason.
I don't think adding ranks would really change anything as long as the emblem system works the way it does. The current system definitely lowers the threshold for skill to leveling up compared to the old system. Adding more ranks doesn't change that fundamental problem. As for buffing kindred, the devil is in the details. What do you specifically think it should look like?
I'm good with vigil making it so you recover exhaustion when running. But I don't think you should get the extra reduction in time while running. I'm also good with Dance With Me getting a buff. I think removing the cooldown is enough though. I don't think it needs extra time. I agree with buffing Saboteur more, but the way I would prefer to see it done is so when a player with the Sabotage perk breaks a hook when the hook respawns it will have 40/50/60% sabotage progress on new hook.
I agree with Sole Survivor countering BBQ. I think your diversion suggestion is actually kind of a nerf. One of the nicer parts about diversion is that you instantly know when you are in the killer's terror radius. If it was a flat 30 second timer then you lose that. Plus it would get really spammy and annoying.
I get where you are coming from with the pallet hit or miss thing. I think there is room for improvement with pallets, but I don't think we will or even should get to the point where a "tie" is impossible. It is certainly possible for the survivor to begin throwing down the pallet at the same time a killer is attacking and for there to be a window in time where the pallet is moving but hasn't connected to the killer before the killer's attack lands. As for NOED and DS, I actually like what both of those perks bring to the game. I get why players on both sides hate those perks, but think about how many interesting games have resulted from them.

How can the perk Insidious be used without camping a hook, gen or a place? This question is nonsensical. You are basically asking "how can insidious be used without standing still?" The answer is that it can't be used that way. You have stand still for 2 seconds for it to activate and therefore you are camping at the very least "a place". As far as how to use the perk goes, you choose a strategic objective you know the survivors will come to, stand still, and wait for them to come. /end thread

I am using self-care, balanced landing, urban evasion and DS. What perks do you guys use any tips would be awesome and thank you. That is actually a pretty good set up. I usually fit borrowed time into my kit. I also typically only play survivor when I'm playing with friends though. If I'm playing with randoms then I often swap it out. Other really good perks are adreneline, deliverance, unbreakable, and empathy.
-
I don't agree with this. If you want bloodwarden's effect then run bloodwarden. I don't think all killers should get it free.
-
Skill checks are a stupid idea. I don't really see a need for change here.
-
If you are far enough away to activate Make Your Choice then it isn't really camping in my book. But if you just crouch camp within 12 meters then yeah, that would make you bad.
-
Nothing about this idea makes sense. Why would the character from Scream suddenly start teleporting like The Nurse or running really fast with a chainsaw like The Hillbilly. I don't recall anything like that from the movies. This thread should probably be in Fan Creations anyway.

@Dreamnomad Thats mean.Indeed. If you want to express your politics in a game there are bound to be people who disagree with you and are only too happy to cause you grief and anxiety. But who knows? Maybe some killers will show you mercy for the same reason. Either way, you are bound to draw the killers attention one way or the other.

@Tsulan said:
Survivors can team up and do a plant in 30 seconds. You need 2 1/2 plants. Thats way faster then getting 6 event hooks that might be on the other end of the map.Just need iron grasp and a little strategy. Try to work from the outside in. But if it's easier to earn them as a survivor for you then carry on. I can only speak for my experiences.
-
I really must be a much better killer than survivor because I almost always get one vial per match as a killer whereas it is a bit of a random thing when I get a full vial in a survivor match. Sometimes other players are busy harvesting and I'm short about a quarter of a vial, sometimes the killer finds me first and things go sideways, and sometimes I've run into bugs where my vial is completely full, but I don't get credit at the end of match. I feel like I'm more in control of my destiny playing as the killer.
-
Lol, I wouldn't mind torturing some Trump supporters! I'd slug em and watch em bleed out or tunnel them or let them crawl a long way to an exit gate or hatch just to mori them at the last second. So yeah... great idea. I hope they add MAGA hats!
-
Nothing you've mentioned strikes me as noteworthy. Maybe you are right about Dwight's model. Maybe you are wrong. I just don't see it as something I should care at all about either way. "Black lock" or "Dark lock"? Does it matter? These things are all so trivial, it's like asking myself "was that a red ant I stepped on or a black ant?"

Yes but thats not what i'm saying; i was referring to the fact that, when you you play killer and a match has started with a 4 man SWF, all wielding toolboxes and your ruin gets destroyed less then 30 seconds when that match starts.
Would you still continue? Knowing no matter how hard you try; you'll just be gen rushed to high heaven; leaving you to be mocked and humiliated by the survivors when those exit gates open.
I wont..YES!! You continue the game! That is exactly what you do! If you don't have thick enough skin to handle the possibility of losing a match gracefully then perhaps this isn't the game for you. Besides, you might just surprise yourself and do better than you expect. Maybe, just maybe, if you challenge yourself then you might improve your skills and handle future situations that are more difficult better.
