I think you may need to use more words to get your point across.

I like him too. I like all the killers that can put survivors in a dying state with one attack. Those times when you manage to down 2 survivors with a single attack away from hook saves are magical =p

Ok maybe greedy was taking it too far. But imagine you only get to play 2 hours a day of DbD. Now your a solo player and you've joined up with three other who have already got their 30 vials.
Okay, now imagine that you are the only one who brought an offering. There are only 3 plants total on the whole map and no one else on your teams gives a crap about harvesting. The killer happens to find you and tunnel you. You are going to die and now there is 0% chance of even gaining the bonus bloodpoints. At least if other people bring offering and harvest plants, you should get like 20k bloodpoints even if you get tunneled.
And more plants means a higher chance of finding the plants. If there are only 3 plants and you are the only one looking for them then there is no guarantee that you'll find and be able to harvest the plants. If everyone else in the team already has all their vials then they don't give a crap who does the harvesting. They just want the bloodpoints. They would rather have someone else do the harvesting. You really aren't thinking your position through here.

@Naiad said:
So in other words your greedy, because you have the ability to do nothing all day but play a computer game?
'Those people' that take longer than a day or two, or buy the game halfway through an event have always had it rougher because people always stopped burning event offerings towards the end. This isn't being greedy. This is wanting to be able to participate in the event without being artificially blocked. Once you reach 30 vials, you should start each map with an empty vial. Simple as that. This is a huge mistake that should be fixed ASAP!

Forcing players to play a portion of the game they don't enjoy will have a negative impact on the gameplay experience of all other players. I don't think the other players enjoy the fact that I leave games early in order to get my vials as quickly as possible and get out, but I do not care.
You act like you have no choice in the matter. You can choose not to be a selfish prick you know? No one forced you to do anything.
The devs forced me to play survivor to get all 60 vials. I can't get all 60 available by playing my favorite role.
And name-calling is unnecessary.
I'm not really trying to call you names here. I'm referring to your gameplay. Anyone who takes what they want and then suicides on hooks is being a selfish prick. And like I said before, it is a choice that you as a player made. You could choose to try and get your vials and then help your team escape or you could choose to try and get your vials and then suicide to get to the next match. Quit saying "they forced me to!". No one held a gun to your head.
The mentality that you are showing is the same that people who shoplift use. I want this item, but I don't want to pay the price. In this case a fancy cosmetic is the item you want and the price is playing as a survivor. So what do you do? You put the item in your jacket and walk out the door. Well, that isn't completely a fair example. It's more like you switched the price tags with another item and paid the lower cost. Which is still stealing in my book.
If the price of playing as a survivor is too high for you then guess what? Don't play as a survivor. You don't need the cosmetics. But if you are going to play as a survivor then don't sandbag the rest of your team. It doesn't take that much longer to play the match out.

It sucks that once your vial is full that you can't continue to harvest for your team mates and blood points.

I try to get the event hooks and I try to fill my vial as a survivor. Other than that, I try to play as normal as possible. I don't camp or tunnel as a killer and usually most of them die having earned a lot of bloodpoints. But I generally don't just let them farm.
-
I don't know an exact number and I never took screenshots of my high scores, but it would have been around 200k.

I got this in a legit online match with boosters of any kind. It was awesome lolYou had to have some kind of booster. Otherwise you would have earned 25,788. Even if you don't count BBQ as a booster that would put you at 51,576. Did you use an event offering or something?
-
I like the event, but I think there is room for improvement. For instance, if my vial is full then I should still be able to harvest, but the liquid is evenly distributed to the other survivors. That change alone would fix most of the survivor complaints.

So if I'm hearing this correctly, once you have harvested 30 vials then it is impossible to harvest any more just for the bloodpoints? You yourself can not do any more harvesting, and very quickly most other survivors will have their vials complete as well and won't be able to harvest cankers, therefore no extra bloodpoints.
They need to hotfix this. You should still be able to collect them for bloodpoints.

I get it. OMG look at the rank difference! How am I ever supposed to play against such elite players? It's not that big of a deal honestly.

I tend to run into the opposite problem. I'll start a match at 2/3 of a vial and can't even complete one harvest. Then I'm trying to beg my team to harvest so I'll get the bonus bloodpoints.

You knew the event was coming right? It's not like you couldn't have saved up bloodpoints prior to the event.

It's not any more bannable than camping is.

Every now and then everyone gets boned on the bloodweb. I've had several times where the last thing on the bloodweb was the very rare fog increase offering. As a killer, I am NEVER going to use that. But typically, the reason I was stuck with that is because of choices I made to get things I wanted. If I actually added up all the things I didn't really want and will never actually use on the bloodweb, it would be upwards of 10,000,000 bloodpoints. But that is the price of leveling up. Obviously, you are never getting those 7k back anymore than I'm getting my 10 million back.
-
The real reason you aren't enjoying the event is because YOU AREN'T PARTICIPATING! Where is your offering bro? You would have gotten around 50,000 bloodpoints + another 20-30k with BBQ. The fact that survivors have basically double the generators to do in terms of time spent more than offsets any level difference.
-
I typically go with the body cosmetics. Most of the time weapons feel like a waste of resources.
-
Woohoo! I got it! ... now to wait for everyone else...

NO ONE PROMISED YOU #########!!!!! THEY DIDN'T LEAD YOU TO BELIEVE ANYTHING!!! Look at the quality of these skins. Did you REALLY think you would get them all for free? If so then you should go back to pre-school where you belong. Look at every event they have had so far. Typically the reward is 2-3 cosmetics. What in your right mind makes you think they would give you TWENTY-ONE for free in this event? Use your head.
-
OP isn't wrong. People were only deluding themselves that all the cosmetics would be free. That's insane. None the less, this really is a problem of BHVR's own making. If they released the information in a different way then the damage could have been mitigated.

Cry more.

You weren't promised #########! Show me anywhere that Behaviour stated that you would be able to unlock all the cosmetics for free. You can't. You know why? It doesn't exist. You assumed that you could. Assumption is the mother of all mess ups.

There is no reason to cap the number of vials that players can earn during the Hallowed Blight event. Why? Because the Event is already capped by TIME. You can't get any more vials after Nov. 2.The reward after you have earned the cosmetics is a buttload of bloodpoints. That is the reward to continue playing.
Only if someone makes the offering though, right? We're not getting double bloodpoints.
If it is like basically all their events then yes. But basically, it is double bloodpoints. Sometimes more. If you have 7 special hooks and gain 5k for each of them that is 35,000 bonus bloodpoints which is more than double what you could have earned. If you don't burn an offering then you are shooting yourself in the foot. During the event you should be able to stockpile a large number of Escape Cakes or Survivor Puddings if you do it right. It's the gift that keeps on giving.

Just commit to the chase already!

An event filter in the store. Clearly they intend to sell event cosmetics in the near future.
Maybe you can buy it after the event if you werent able to play? Because these are high quality skins and i wouldnt doubt if they were available by some financial way.
I would think that it would be more likely that the event cosmetics are only purchasable for a limited time. Historically speaking, during most events there is one cosmetic item for killers and one for survivors and maybe one more that is unlockable by the whole community's effort. ** I anticipate perhaps a couple of items being unlockable and the rest being available for a limited time in the store.** I see no reason why they would just give all those cosmetics away for free. We'll see soon enough though.
Can I just say "I told you so"? Just once? The writing was on the wall folks. They aren't being greedy. They are being a company. Frankly, it's pretty generous to allow the players to choose the cosmetics that they want. They could have just picked one outfit and said that is the free one, like it or not.

OMG this community. This is supposed to be a community event, instead it turned into a cashgrab event with a lot of frustrating gameplay and only 1 out of 7 outfits is a joke. 2 wouldn't hurt them, it would still remain a joke.
The way we see it is that you can earn a full outfit of your choice or 3 separate cosmetics in the new collection. This is more than what was offered in the previous events.
Transparency about how our purchases will help the game could get people to stop feeling like the devs are greedy. Or maybe they just are. Is the dev team expanding? are dedicated servers coming? where does the money go so that we can feel good about it. you know?
This is the one criticism I can agree with. The very second that the new skins were leaked, the devs should have been right on top of explaining how the cosmetics would be unlocked. The problem isn't that they made a bunch of cosmetics. Nor is it that only a couple of them will be able to be unlocked for free. The problem is the unrealistic expectations of players. Those expectations were predictable and could easily have been managed if they would have just been upfront. And that is their fault.
-
I think the fact that you get to choose which cosmetics you can unlock for free is actually quite generous. They don't owe us anything folks.
-
Sounds fair.

That doesn't exactly mean they will sell event items seeing as you can view things you already own in the store. So previous event items will fall under the Event filter and content creator exclusives (Twitch, YouTube etc) would fall under Artifact.
This is one of those situations where I would prefer to be wrong. I would have no problem unlocking cosmetics by hanging players on hooks. We'll see soon enough anyway.

* My vision is really blurry... weeee?
* Now if I fail a skill check on the hook, I die! Go me!
Seriously, what part of anything you posted is "fun"? Here is an example of what might make the dying state more fun. Instead of just sitting still holding a button to progress your recovery, you could have a Tetris screen show up and your progress is based on when you destroy rows. If you set the difficulty high enough and get 4 rows at once then you get to go to the injured state. Now I'm not actually suggesting players on a hook or bleeding out should play some kind of mini-game like Tetris. I'm simply making a point that your suggestions do absolutely nothing to make losing more fun.
Consider the following please:
-More visual effects that make the game more interesting and fun when in a bad situation.
-More options while in dying state.
-More fun hook changes that give you more control when losing.Additionally, why are you so worried about missing a skill check while on the hook? Are skill checks difficult for you because they are certainly not for me. Perhaps you need to familiarize yourself with generators and practice more often?
Overall, this just makes the game more fun and interesting when in a bad situation.
I think you and I have very different definitions of "fun". Blurry vision is the opposite of fun. Dying randomly because you missed a skill check is not fun. The med kit while dying thing? Meh, whatever. It would make 0 difference in most games and again... not fun.
Most of these changes feel like nerfs to survivors being sold as "fun". My vision gets all blurry, now it's harder to communicate with my team what the killer is doing! Yeah, fun! Ooops, I missed a skill check and died! (massive buff to unnerving presence btw) Yeah, fun! What do the survivors get in compensation? You can blow your med kit for no reason when in the dying state. My biggest objection is the use of the word "fun". If you didn't try to sneak nerfs in and sell it as "fun" then I wouldn't have wasted my time on this thread. None of this crap is going to happen anyway, so daydream all you want.

Overall, I think they are taking the game in the right direction. I agree that the hooking animation needs adjusted. It just looks silly now and doesn't match the actual progress bar. I definitely like the new blind effect when playing as a killer. It is much, much easier on the eyes. I like the changes to Haddonfield. It is much easier to navigate. I don't think Sabotage was tuned up enough to become meta. I expect some people will experiment with Sabotage for a little while before they realize that it is still a pretty bad strategy.
I think the largest change that will have the greatest impact on the game is the change to healing. I think that was a good change though. I agree with all of the perk changes, but I don't think any of them will have a large impact on the meta. The Spirit is pretty close to where I would like to see her. Those were nice changes. If they would just lose the necessity to have a full charge before using her ability then she would be set.
