Dude what are you on about. Killer IS the power role. 1 individual with large power against 4 individuals with low power, kind of like quantity over quality to a certain sense. The killer IS the power roleNo its not. Power role means you have total control over the game. Killer does not have this. They are merely an opposing force to survivors, NOT the power role. The fact you think killer is power role says everything about why you feel the way you do about mechanics such as hatch. Killer is not "in charge" of the match in contrast to a REAL power role in a game like Sims where you can control literally everything, and are basically God.
Just because the game is asymmetrical does not automatically make one since a power role.
Stop writing please.
Educate yourself on asymmetrical games, therms like power roles ect.
If you need help, ask in an acceptable manner. People usually likes to help.
Try to be constructive and positive.
Thank you.You guys don't know what a "power role" is, you just toss out the term willy nilly to describe the killer's role in the game.
POWER ROLE means you have total control over the game. Which is why I point to Sim game because that's a power role. You are GOD in those games.
Killer is not GOD in DBD. They are the opposing force to survivors. If you were to describe their "role" it would be the "aggressor" since they are the ones acting on survivors and survivors ultimately have to react to what the killers are doing, ie. the "defender".
Power role in sims is different to power role in dead by daylight. Becuase they are 2 totally different games. The term "power role" in sims IS the god-like thing that you describe. In dbd, it is the single character with more power than the 4 opposing characters will little power. The reason they are the power role in dbd is cause theres only 1 of them aganst 4 surivors, hence it being the power role.

Yeah but thats the whole point surely. If the team has worked that badly together to get into that situation why shouldnt it be like that? Because the killer has the power role and in that situation the killer has the power role as intended. The hatch makes the last survivor equal if not more so than the killer at that point, which is why the hatch mechanic is ridiculousKiller is not the power role. Power role is the DM in D&D, or the player in a Sims games. Power roles have total control over the game. Killer does not have total control over the game, they are merely a force against the survivor's role.

Btw the ACTUAL survivor WR is about 40%. So thus a 1v1 needs to be Killer sided in order to be fair with that winrateUhhhh.. wouldn't that mean the hatch should be survivor sided since they have LESS of a chance to win? If a survivor has a 40% win rate, that means killer has a 60% chance, which means killer has the advantage.
@NuclearBurrito2 said:
Ok so again. If the survivor and Killer both haven't necessarily proven themselves then shouldn't endgame 1v1 be a 50/50? Cuz right now the hatch is in the survivors favorYou even say it should be 50/50. If you make it killer sided you just push it to 30/70 or better for killer. Also hatch is NOT survivor sided, it's pretty equal. In fact I'd argue that because killer has free rein of the map and are faster than survivors, they actually have the advantage because they are more likely to find the hatch first. What you are talking about is hatch STANDOFF which does favor the survivor, but that's an issue that is universally agreed to be bad for the game and needs a fix. The hatch itself though is just fine.

The hatch isn't perfect, but it is there out of necessity. The alternative of not having a hatch would result in a stalemate where the killer patrols generators and the survivor tries to fix them. If the killer hears a generator being worked on, they'll know the survivor is there. It'll take that solo survivor 80 seconds to repair a single generator, and the killer can easily patrol all the generators in less time. The result is a stalemate where the survivors just going to hide and wait until there's an opportunity to fix a generator, except that opportunity will only come when the killer has gotten bored and given up.Getting rid of it in theory is great, but in practice, it would not work. The end game will be receiving a rework at some point and the hatch will likely be looked into at the same time.

He's not really that great. But quite fun to play regardless i find

Dwight_Confusion said:The hatch mechanic is a great idea.
It's just extremely survivor sided and has been for 3 years now.
The killer needs to have the ability to shut it... like they tested in the PTB. I don't know why they didn't go through with that.
Because once that happens, the survivor has the power generators in a 1v1 against the killer, which is just not possible. You can patrol the entire map in well under 80 seconds, and the second the killer hears a generator progressing they'll know you're there. So what ended up happening was the hide and seek world championships with no end in sight.
Yeah but if the survivor finds the hatch first then they can escape. It's completely fair as the first one to find the hatch essentially wins, rather than if the survivor finds the hatch they win and if the killer finds the hatch they can't do anything and the survivor wins anyway (which what it is at the moment). The hatch is a last chance mechanic, thats it. It's a last bit of hope to a survivor that played bad enough for it to appear in the first place. As i said, a last chance, not a free win

Crashes a lot on console, too. I thought it was because of the new map, but since that's been removed from rotation the crashes are still happening on random maps.guess its just the new engine? can't think what else it'd be

Doesn't this only affect a Doctor that uses Nurses Calling? Or does it nerf a different perk with Doc as well? Don't really see how that's a big deal to be honest.pretty sure it does a few other perks. obvisouly the main one is NC, but other perks like thanto and coulrophobia i THINK affected it? as it was technically a healing action
Sloppy didn't affect itOh that's interesting. I was sure Thana and Coulrophobia didn't effect it cause I knew Sloppy doesn't effect it. But maybe they do. Bit of a pity then. With Doc though, I'd anyway recommend perks like Enduring plus Spirit Fury, perks that help him in chases since pallet loops are his big weakness, not tracking or slowing down the game.
I can't 100% confirm this as it hasn't happened to me, but when i run it survivors say they see the picture of coulrophobia when they're snapping out of it and it takes longer so i just took their word for it

why the ######### is doc getting nerfed?

literally no sense in nerfing doc, the #########?

Just make all perks viable with his power don't need run arounds. Perks description shouldn't change with new killers. Cause they don't change the perk with exceptions in description. Plus new players putting on perks with legion gonna be confused why these perks not working with his power.Im really sad there isn't increase in vault speed in window with bamboozle and couldn't bamboozle a pallet i vaulted.
Plus at end game when all 4 escaping why can't i rancor or noed instadown.
Plus doesn't franklin demise require a regular hit also.
Does his power just say F having perks
yeah i think bricky did a video on the fact that literally no perks work on him,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbjyMjw6gHA , kinda of stupid if u ask me -
or make normal movement speed? or have the bleed-out timer still tick down in a chase, only at 25% or 50% speed

how long would it take to self care? as this is potentially part of my doc build alongside nurses -
whats the problem?

I think Left Behind's main purpose would be to get another Gen done and then look for the hatch assuming that your team didn't get two done in time. To that end the perk itself almost doesn't need to exist as in top rank games that'll never happen and the Survivor will simply find the hatch and leave.Perhaps Left Behind should give another buff entirely, something like a 5% haste for 60 seconds and a buff where if struck in the injured state they wouldn't go down for 25s unless hit again, akin to Borrowed Time. That would enable a Survivor to find and use the hatch more effectively if they end up being the last one left. However, I would ensure that the buff stipulates and only activates so long as the other three survivors were killed and before Gens are done, the buff should not activate during the Exit Gate phase. Just my two cents anyhow.
isn't that essentially a mix of hope and borrowed time with a requirement feature built in? idk, it'd still be better than what it is at the moment but like you said, i don't think i'd run it either
-
isn't that besides the point of it being called "franklins demise" ?

Not faulty, designed for low tier play. He only gets speed increase when moving in a straight line turning reduces accelaration. If the add ons were faulty it could at least be fixed no its worse then that they are terrible designed.
I think theres a video on reddit where it shows the comparisons side by side of chilli addons and no addons going in a straight line and there is almost no difference, i had to replay it several times to even see what the difference was. If they aren't faulty and these minute differences are actually working as they should. Then they need a massive ######### buff, otherwise its just a waste of bloodpoints every time. even for low tier play as you say

clown i find, if you like mindgames spirit is hard but fun when u get really good at her. but i like clown

Eh? Clown is pretty cool to play. The point of the bottles isn't to inflict any damage (or even slow people down), it's to control the survivors' movement - ideally before they reach a looping point. If the gas actually caused injury then it'd have to be limited further, like a hatchet, which would take away the only unique thing about him.
Bamboozle is also pretty fun to throw in on any killer.
Thankfully, I rarely see skilled Clown players. But when you do, they're damn near impossible to escape from.
Maybe he's impossible to escape because he's kinda like Freddy? Freddy got a lot nerfs and then hardly anyone played him any more. But when the very few people started playing him, survivor mains are not experienced with him anymore because you rarely see him, and they are least expecting him in a match......Hm? maybe I should main clown or freddy? if hardly anyone is playing him, then I'll have the element of surprise.
I guess its what you find fun, i dont main him cause hes op like the nurse or billy, i do it cause i think he looks cool and like this play style. Probably why not many people play him, there are 13 killers in the game now i guess
-
I main clown... hes awesome
that said tho, i cant remember the last time i was agaisnt one as a survivor -
Hopefully we might be able to get cosmetics with devotion points or something like that

If the Killer decides to farm BP with the survivors then its not bannable. If the Killer decides to farm with a survivor that sandbags everyone for an easy win then its bannable, with the survivor more likely getting the assblasting by BHVR.
cool, and thanks for the clarification

I don't know which is worse lolthats so sad. if you see a video of the two side by side (chilli addon and no chilli addon) then youll see that the very rare award winning chilli addon should be a common or uncommon at most, let alone the ordinary chilli. Just useless addons, waste of bloodpoints

BBQ and chilli from leatherface and hex:ruin from the hag are your best bets. Enduring from the hillbilly is also pretty good and bamboozle from the clown can see some good use on loops

Killer Perk - Jack in the Box : Start the trial with 2/3/4 extra (rigged) chests. Once a survivor opens the rigged chest a noise notification is given to the killer/and the survivor becomes injured (cannot be put into the dying state)/and inflicts mangled onto the survivor.

Can be performed with billy too (was discovered on billy back in the days if i remember correctly)Thanks for posting, wasn't sure if it was a bug or not.

To get any killer P3-50 with all perks its totalled at 303 levels. To get any survivor P3-50 with all perks its totalled at 318 levels. Its up to you.
And i think 1 million bloodpoints only gets you about 40 levels, to put it into perspective... -
used to be a leatherface main until the clown came out, i used to proxy camp/hook and walk away. Normally got a 2k or 3k, i tried insidious camping once and got a 4k but its really boring
-
nice dude, wp

Its sad but you just gotta suck it up as killer seen as theres literally nothing you can do, either that or if one of them really annoys you just facecamp and watch as the salt comes pouring through in the after game chat, always cheers me up

I think Leatherface himself is bugged. You see, his chainsaw has its own statistic called "acceleration", basically the time it takes for Leatherface to reach his normal movement speed during the chainsaw attack. Right now, this stat is messed up, and Leatherface is slower than he should be during the chainsaw attack, so the Chili addons do not work properly.Yeah i know, used to be a lf main before the clown came out, i would have stayed with him but i kept getting annoyed when i constantly wasted his addons/couldnt use them or just when his chainsaw didnt work at all (both acceleration wise and when there was a previous bug where sometimes you'd "bump into" a pallet with your chainsaw instead of breaking it). I think i'll just have to shelf him as a killer until its addressed ;/
-
The licensed DLC have to be bought with money, the original DLCS can be bought with either money or in game currency (shards)
-
How many killers/survivors do you think they'll have in the game before they stop?
-
It is ridiculous how long some chases can last, and with the devs nerfing bloodlust soon its just gonna get worse ;(
-
Thats an awesome idea! hope the devs look into something like this soon, to further make trials more interesting.

didn't the devs say in the latest stream they were potentially looking into more game modes?

...thats pretty cool
