I was under impression you could buy any dlc characters for 9000 shards. Is it only regular ones? Nightmare, Shape, Pig or Leatherface have to be bought with money or acrylic cells?

The licensed DLC have to be bought with money, the original DLCS can be bought with either money or in game currency (shards)
