My favorite franchise would have to be the Reanimator movies. They are all really good, though the first one is the best.
I've only seen the original. That was pretty funny.

I know we already have a pig...but we could do with a manpig.
I know we have the chainsaw bros...but we could have the chainsaw triplets.
That's why I want Piggsy from Manhunt.

Clown.
-
Here's a few horror films for Halloween:
Clown (Eli Roth, 2014)
The Descent (2005)
Hostel (2005)
Prince Of Darkness (John Carpenter, 1987)
The Ritual (2017)
ENJOY! ๐

Can we extend this to anyone who teabags at the exit gate?
Joke ๐

I agree Killer Adepts need changing.
It should just be 4 any means kills with your 3 unique perks: job done. There shouldn't be any pip requirements, emblems etc.
They changed the achievement "Where Did They Go?" (all 4 survivors escape via hatch) to escape via the hatch using a key. Sure that was due to a gameplay change, but that was a tough trophy and it's replacement was ridiculously easy.
I have all the DBD trophies, but still dread doing Killer Adepts.

I still want the Myers mask from Halloween II, you know the one....
Should of really been his prestige 3 mask.

James Sutherland would be ok, but Iโd rather like to see James Sunderland
SH2 is the only game I ever played all the way through back on PS1. Surnames etc are all a bit blurry. Admittedly I can't remember much about the SH survivors currently in DBD. As the SH games aren't easily available on current gen, I can't go back and refresh myself.
But in regards to James Sutherland, I believe he's related to Donald.

OP really forgot Bill. ๐
For him, I would choose the most iconic character in the entirety of video game history.

Not all. I only mentioned characters I personally would like to see.
I have never played a Left 4 Dead game and aren't familiar with the characters.
Although I have seen the original Evil Dead trilogy once (20 years ago) and the first series of VS, I am admittedly not a huge fan of the franchise.
I didn't mention Stranger Things either seeing that's on the way out.

If you are doing challenges, dailies or achievements = no mercy. Kill.

You need will power to play a game??
If the game is really a chore i don't see why play it. You're not being forced to play it.
No, it's a lack of will power to quit the game.
Sometimes I feel I want to stop playing DBD but then some new licence gets announced, I get interested, etc.
In some ways I use the game as an easy way to waste spare time.

That one with the mask
Are you referring to Billy the Puppet?
If you don't know, he's not an actual person.
-
Personally if it died, I would be pleased to be set free of it. Relying on will power is not enough with DBD.
As a game, the reward factor is low. More often, it plays like a chore with little enjoyment.
But....it's got all the horror legends included, as a kid this game would of been my dream come true. It's that sole reason why I keep coming back. The horror.
I was planning to try and quit and then here comes Pinhead. Another favourite. Started playing as him, he was authentic and enjoyable. But after a week, the old grind sets back in.
If DBD came to a end, I wouldn't loose any sleep.
-
I would like to see cosmetics that don't cost around double the price of the actual character.
-
In many ways I can relate.
I was off for a few days, logged on to do the dailies, had one match, switched off.
It has slight highs and heavy slumps. The Hellraiser dlc was something I enjoyed, but after the novelty faded, it was back to the old grind. The new "boon" totems sound like something that could be a serious pain in the backside.
I would be far more happier with DBD if it just added bot matches.
It may actually be games in general, I think I might be just plain bored.

You know yamaoka exist right? At least RPD has some god pallets, yamaoka is just the worst map in the game
Fully aware. Dislike Yamaoka too, but no way as much as RPD.
-
Terrible. The absolute worst. Nothing else comes close.
-
I liked playing as and against him.
Killers like Pinhead, Nemesis and Pyramid Head with more than one straight power make them more interesting.
-
Chucky should:
a) include Charles Lee Ray (human) and have a soul transfer ability.
or
b) have voodoo powers to lift/hook survivors.
-
Jason, Chucky, Candyman and Alien.
They're the only marketable licences remaining.
And I suppose FNAF.
-
Dwight with the bedsheet/glasses like Michael Myers.
-
In regards to online gaming, I only really played Counter-Strike (back in late 90s/early 2000s), the WWE games, Friday 13th, GTA V and DBD.
Out of them, DBD was/is by far the most toxic.

I think you get more xp, you normally get around 400-500 per match I think, but when you finish your first match per day you can get around 700-800 xp as both Killer and Survivor.
Ok cheers ๐

In terms of playerbase and commercial success? No.
In terms of fun? Possible. That's depends on opinion. We'll see.
I hope it's fun.
-
They do see and they enjoy it. They enjoy making killer's experiences miserable.
-
From what I have heard (haven't got a pc), they seem a bit too much.
I'll have to play against them myself for a proper judgement call.
-
The product of the fall of western society.
-
Well if Wraith doesn't move...
-
Probably the ones when I was attempting the "Where Did They Go?" achievement...which has now been replaced by the titanic mountain that is "escape through the hatch with a key". Absolute joke. Anyway, I got it in the end, for my sins, along with all the other trashy trophies. No idea why I put myself through that nonsense.
But in regards to frustrating...this morning the matches were just that. No joy. Just frustration. Survivors with their SWF crap and Killers going full try-hard with Franklins etc despite early match DCs. Just a huge shower of shattery.
I'm having more fun on the One Punch Man game and watching old horror films.
DBD just gets worse. It's a shame, as it's by far got the best character roster in video game history. Oh well. Us hypocritical fools will continue to play despite our gripes.
-
Out of the list, the couple from Conjuring. Good films.
Although I would prefer Quint from Jaws.

Iโm still trying to memorize the gen locations.
I find myself getting lost when trying to run to rescue a hooked survivor. It's a calamity.
-
Pinhead can be fun.
-
Raccoon City is a steaming turd. The absolute worst. Nothing touches it in terms of turdality.
-
No.
I'm not fan of streamers.
"Influencers"...I mean come on...๐ give me strength.
-
The majority are utter crap. One or two look alright on killer hooks but the survivor keyrings are just turd-worthy.
Those gravestone/icon ones which are the same bloody design but about four different colours and take up four different tiers on the rift: The worst.
And not forgetting we have all the usual starry-eyed squealers yelping on about what latest fad should be a charm. It's all so tedious.
So yeah. Along with Raccoon City and broken eyes, charms need to be flushed down the bog.
-
It's a tricky one.
Freddy's moniker in the Nightmare series is the "Springwood Slasher".
But when you think of the slasher genre, you think of the iconic mask of Jason.
Someone once said, on here maybe, that "The Drowned" would be a good idea. Thing is, Jason didn't drown and the whole Pamela/Young Jason plot could be difficult in regards to the remaining lawsuit red tape.
Maybe have Jason's nickname as "The Mask". That way you don't have to concentrate on his origins and just focus on the masked serial killer. If put in to DBD, Jason's backstory could be glossed over to not include certain elements.
It's like Ghostface: he's hasn't got the Scream logo strapped to his chapter...but we know he's him.
Jason's backstory could be brief, detailing how he had to fend for himself in the wilderness, hiding his deformed face behind under a sack, but his appetite for murder led him to be one of the infamous serial killers in history etc. It can be all very vague.
-
Regarding that lawsuit...a lot of red tape remains.

Nightmare on Elm Street is a good example of a series where every movie is worse than the one that preceded it. The first two movies are classics and definitely worth watching though.
I personally think Freddy's Dead (6), Dream Child (5) and especially New Nightmare were better than Freddy's Revenge (2) and Dream Master (4).
Also, I actually rank Part 2 as the worst of the entire franchise.
My ranking goes
1. Original
2. Dream Warriors (part 3)
3. A New Nightmare
4. Freddy's Dead (part 6)
5. Dream Child (part 5)
6. Remake
7. Dream Master (part 4)
8. Freddy's Revenge (part 2)

I'm also ashamed to say that the 2010 remake is the only one I've seen..
..but tbh I actually.. kinda liked it๐ญ
Bias aside, do you think I should give classic Nightmare a watch? I've heard Robert Englund's Freddy was more comedic than scary.
Definitely. The first film is a classic horror and not comedic. The campness starts from the second film and carries on in to parts 3-6 (Part 3 is also a very good film though).

@burntfingerz said:
voted for 6, but have to say 3,4 and 6 are my faves
6 is the daddy.
In my opinion: The best soundtrack, humour, the best antagonist, great supporting characters and Sheriff Garris is hilarious.

The first and third I like more in my opinion, to see Nancy face Freddy Krueger but in the third I did not like very much that he died for Freddy, it had more potential to be another version of Laurie Strode but in Nightmare. But anyway, super good movie for me.
I also liked the whole idea of the youth patients having special abilities in their dreams. It was a worthy sequel.

I'm between Jason Lives, New Blood and Jason Takes Manhattan, but I prefer part 8 as I like the characterization and design of Jason better and it is also the first movie I saw of Jason when he was at least 12 years old.
Part 8 is also my favourite Jason design. The slimey, wet boiler suit with the mask with those pitch black eye holes...very intimidating.
Manhattan was also my first Friday.
-
I have a real soft spot for Manhattan.
I believe it was the first F13 I saw when I was around 11 years old.
The film gets slated by critics and fans alike, but for me it's an entertaining horror flick.

I'm sad to say that the 2010 one was the only one I've ever watched. I'm ashamed lol
My opinion: The original is a classic. So much better than the remake.
Part 3 (Dream Warriors) is a great film too.
Parts 2/4/5 are all below average. I think Freddy's Dead is better than those 3 films.
I haven't seen New Nightmare in years, so I'll give that a rewatch this weekend.
-
I am very fond of Pinhead. The puzzle box added an interesting element to gameplay, much like Nemesis' zombies.
-
I think bot matches would certainly increase the game's fun factor.
