It's an old screenshot from before the devs adjusted the numbers.Bongbingbing said:I Thought it was 2 points for Killer per hook?
If it's 1 that's even more insane. Survivors earn 4 points for a Generator, That's 20 points each per game and with how quickly gens are getting done that'll be easy and could be done within around 5-10 minutes. and then the 25 added bonus if they escape with vessel.
While Killer's if it's 1 point per hook you'd need 20 hooks to match that of generators, which isn't even possible not to mention how hard it is to actually get a hook in comparison to completing a gen. 12 hooks is the max, Even if it's 2 points per Hook that's still incredibly difficult to get.The Genrush is going to be so real

Regarding past events, give it a couple of hours still.

The old removed one Hook. Period.
The new one has a chance to remove up to 2 Hooks. The change gives it a circumstantial buff of 100% -
I don't think you understand how strong it actually is.

The project name is Mali, like how legion was Kenya. There’s no way of saying for certain what the killer is, since generally, most of the evidence brought up thus far is hypothetical, or invalid. That's not yet a given, just an assumption.

Cannibal was originally supposed to be a Chapter and would probably have had Kate as the Survivor as she came into the game files alongside his. Internally, his DLC is Chapter 6, so all Chapters after that are 1 number too large.
-
You give the devs too much credit considering hints in the past have all been meh.Sinner said:So far, every hint they posted for previous killers was actually tied to it, I don't see why Mali would just be the internal name this time and not an actual hint, when she said it was a hint. -
It may seem the logical thing to do and base the win/lose condition on the amount of kills you got, but I personally don't do that. It usually doesn't happen to me as Killer, but often enough when I play Survivor, that the Killer got undeserved kills in end-game due to Survivors screwing up.
It doesn't matter to me then that the Killer got 3 kills. If it was obvious that he only played "well enough" for 1 or even no kill and simply got the additional ones due to the Survivors being idiots and basically sacrificing themselves instead of leaving through the gates, then I still consider the game lost for the Killer.
The same goes for when I get sacrificed, but should I have managed to enable my team mate(s) to escape, then I see myself as a winner too.

Freddy is by far the worst killer in Dead by Daylight. The only real purpose of his power is to remove the hindrance he has by default (can't interact with survivors), and he gets cucked by the most used perks in the game (Self care, Sprint burst and Adrenaline). He's the only killer that has to give a up to 9.5 seconds head start to his targets, who can, by the way, keep doing whatever they were doing right in his face without him being able to do anything about it. He's even less than your regular M1 killer (like the Doctor or the Trapper). He has a laughable stealth and the most basic-ass offense you can think of, that pretty much only kinda works if the survivors ignore him during the transition. He's so bad that he can't even camp. He has no way to stop/punish hookrushing, bad positioning or stupid plays by survivors in general. And, as we all know, killers win if the survivors play non-optimally or if they make silly mistakes... I don't think you people realize that Freddy is the only killer that can't capitalize on these situations. No matter how you "mindgame" survivors you still have to wait 7 seconds to hit them. If a survivor is anything but braindead, they will run to the nearest pallet/loop, and proceed to stall you for 5 generators.
Every other killer is far better than Freddy, because they don't take nearly as [BAD WORD] long to take action against survivors.Sorry, but git gud.
I suggest you spend some time playing and actually learning him. Sure he has the most disadvantages of any Killer, but learn how to circumvent them and he becomes quite strong and it even improves your skill on all other Killers due to his limitations.
-
Freddy is a strong Killer if you put some time and effort into him.
It's mostly because you really can't allow to make mistakes on him. As all game mechanics are stacked against him, he gets punished for it even more than other Killers, which leads most to believe, that he's weak.

We've had bans for a long time and we get threatened constantly. Just ignore it. You haven't done anything wrong.

The easiest way to deter camping is not by constantly punishing killers for being close but by giving killers incentive to leave. REWARD KILLERS FOR GOING HUNTING. -
Such a system was tested and abused by Survivors, which didn't come to anyone's surprise.

He evaded a hardware ID ban by moving over to console. Ban evasion is a bannable offence. He wasn't banned for 8 months because the devs couldn't ban on console until now. His console ban was inevitable.

Its a little something they started doing with Freddy. The actor for Freddy is called Englund, so they named our Freddy "England", and ever since then they have named Killers like countries. There is no relation between the country and the character.OrionsFury4789 said:Idk why they name the dlc after a country in the DL file , my dlc for darkness among us just says Dead by daylight:Kenya lol like Jeff appears to be a Kenyan or something

It's already in their log

Legion was clearly meant to be a shapeshifter considering his trailer. Then (I think) it finally dawned on the devs that a shapeshifter does NOT work in a game with 70% SWF lobbies.

They are too lazy to hide behind gens.
They are too lazy to search for a Locker.
They are too lazy to go inside the radius in which BBQ doesn't work.
They are too lazy to fake out their movement direction during the 4 seconds of Aura-reveal.They want passive counters that don't require thinking.

BBQ is in absolutely no way a crutch, as said the most this perk does is give us better addons which would not be worth a perkslot in itself so it got the aura reading.
For Legion players BBQ and chilli is basically a guaranteed Franklin's Mixtape, nothing more. I'd hardly call that a crutch.
Calling a Duck a Walrus doesn't make it any less of a Duck. Well not unless of course you have super strong powers of imagination.
Oh the irony of that argument.
Guess what, this can be turned right back to you.
As I said before: git gud

And you still expect the devs to read this monstrosity of a thread?

I used to play every Killer without Add-ons most of the times as I'm a hoarder for such stuff. For the past year or so, I use Add-ons every single game unless I'm playing Billy. The handicap of not having any has become too great to be reasonable.

That's always been the case, it just never coloured the progress bar red until now. The Patch Notes are badly worded in that regard.

Honestly, camping isn't all that bad. Tunnelling is the problem. And the logic some people on this forum have said baffles me. One time someone said to me when a killer breaks a gen and you go back on it that's 'tunnelling a gen'. The equivalent to tunnelling is teabagging. Looping and camping are part of the gameJust like tunneling is part of the game.
Face it, its simply the time efficient solution to focus down on one survivor.Tbagging has no gameplay impact btw, its just toxic
[BAD WORD] tunnelers. It's acceptable when they tunnel you when there's 2 gens left, I won't get mad at that. But when one guy [BAD WORD] tunnels you when they have 4 gens left or for the whole game, it seriously pisses me off. It's a scummy way to win. I only accept tunneling when the killers got less time to secure kills.
Btw you're not getting me to change my mind on tunneling.
I'm sorry for you then, but getting a Survivor out of the game ASAP is the best way to win the game as it considerably diminishes the Survivors' combined efficiency.
Especially with low-mobility or handicapped Killers, it's THE way to go. When I play Freddy, I tunnel from the very start of the game as I can't allow the Survivors any slack with him or the chances that they'll win will increase quite a lot.

Several "meta" Perks have been frequently on the Shrine. The one thing I do with Shrine Conspiracists is laugh at them. The Shrine is RNG and it seems most here have no understanding how RNG works.
-
The changes are not bad as such although I disagree with the Aura-reveal of carried Survivors, that was removed on purpose. If anything, the Survivor's vision should be dimmed so that they have trouble seeing their surroundings and can't relay that information to their peers (you could attribute it to being dizzy from getting knocked down). And none of those changes should be implemented before Killers aren't buffed accordingly, which I'm quite sure, the devs would do, because apparently, letting the Killer players suffer for a couple of Patches never seemed to trouble them in the past.
Such changes would need to be made alongside appropriate Killer buffs.

The problem is that Killers do not have anywhere near enough time these days.Neska said:@Tsulan said: But those vessels were easier for survivors. No need to do gens. Make the offer, collect the nectar with others in seconds and get a ton of points. Even if you don't collect them yourself.
Maybe I liked it so much because it was like an alternate game mode for me, I didn't had to sit on gens half the game and then escape for another 5k that I would never see if I don't escape(that's btw the only thing why I want to escape in this game, because of the 5k bp).. As for killer; I already said that I wish they wouldn't need to hook people for nectar or whatever because I feel like it's more stressing than sucking some flowers.. maybe they should've gave the killer some flowers too, i don't know..
With 2.5.0, Gen Rush will be more off an issue than ever before as Prove Thyself now looks like a very attractive choice, especially for the Event.
The Killer already has very little time to fulfil their regular objective and now also have to locate and destroy vessels to get most of their points. -
It's a common bug. Grabbing is bugged on all Killers at the moment and will often result in a hit.

We've been shown very early development footage, way earlier than what you'd even call an alpha. There wasn't ever a timer for trials.
It has something to do with the game's perpetual night, only bordering to dusk and dawn. -

Sucks for the Survivor.

Less complaining, more gitting gud like us Veterans had to do too back in the days. You guys already have it much easier than we had. We didn't have any Perks unlocked from the start and had massive Bloodwebs to complete, without any Offerings to boost our point gain other than the Sachets and the Wreaths, which also gave 25% fewer points back then.JohnTed said:They don't have useful perks at beginning., only one maybe. But they need to face many full perks', and rank hacked killers. How can they enjoy the game?
Even worse, new players always lose the match and they only get 3000-5000 bloodpoint.
Also, playing the Killer and the Survivor Tutorial gives a neat little Bloodpoint bonus to get you started. -

It's a game of who's the sneakier and more devious person and who can out think and outmind game whom.
@DocOctober is like that when they play killer and I'm the same way for both sides, I want a challenge not a merry go round.

Looping is a core mechanic of DbD and one main aspect what makes this game unique and why so many people love this game.
Not for everyone, but for the majority of people the chase is the fun part.
If the devs would put more focus on stealth, this game wouldn't be DbD anymore and a lot of people would quit playing it.
Well for some looping is the greatest but for others it's not and they could give stealth much more support so both types of players on both sides could enjoy it. I mean some killers complain about looping now but if stealthy play keeps getting whacked/not supported loopers are going to be 100% more common.
There are Hide & Seek video games without the looping mechanic but these games are nowhere as popular as DbD. Of course, there are people that like stealth play, but it's not the majority.
If the devs were to put focus on stealth, they would lose more players than gain new ones.
I'd prefer that.
Looping was not part of Dead by Daylight for well over half a year after release. To claim that looping is a core mechanic is false. Even the devs call it an unintended way to play the game.
Looping was not intended when the game was developed but you can't deny that looping became a core mechanic of the game. Nowadays, the devs would not say that survivors are not supposed to loop. When it comes to map changes like pallets and windows, it's about looping since it became an essential part of the game.
You don't have to believe it but if DbD had stayed a stealth game it wouldn't have become that successful.
I disagree completely. It would have attracted a different audience and I'm sure that even if the number was lower, it would be a less toxic one.
And the devs made that statement about looping very recently.

That is true, but at the same time that map has very few windows (I can think not more than 4), the second floor has little to no cover and overall the paths are very predictable: this, together with the fact that the floor is smooth and clean makes loosing a killer is very hard. I don't like all those pallets, but currently if it wasn't for them the map would be a death trap for survivors.
In conclusion, The Game needs a complete rework if we want a decrease in pallet numbers. That is what I proposed, yet people seem to not read that part.
-
@Vietfox said:
Some of those pallets are really unsafe, so i guess it's fine. The pallets in the basement corridor? Safe.
The pallets in the room atop the bathroom? Safe.
The pallets in the jungle gym? Safe.
The pallets in-between the store racks? Safe.
The pallets in-between the shipping containers? Safe.
The pallets right atop the staircase with a railing? Safe.
The pallets surrounded by barrels? Safe.
The pallets in-between junk in the small rooms with 4 pillars? Safe. There are next to no unsafe pallets on The Game other than the one in-between the wall and the forklift. That's the only one I can think of right now at which the distance the Killer needs to walk to reach either side is short enough for the back-and-forth vaulting Survivor to eventually screw up and get hit.
And you seriously dare ask why I call you biased? It's this very thing.
The Map is full of safe pallets, they vastly outnumber the unsafe one(s), yet because at least one unsafe one exists, you deem it balanced and fair. That's bias in its purest form.
