I agree with P3, I prestiged also every Killer and Survivor which I can see ingame. But I barely notice achievments tbh, I didnt look at my achievments for over a year tbh. But i can see every day when I log in my prestiged Killers ( I use the outfits very often on most characters tbh).

But ye I totally get the sense of completion, I have a "problem" with that too xD

Personally I like scrolling through my achivements list every now and then. I do it for every game since it's fun remembering what I did to get it. Achievements etch themselves in my mind.

  • @BenZ0 said:

Sry to sound rude but dude... just dont do it if its that annoying. I have over 5k hours and never done 1 adapt cuz I just dont give a F about achievments, I will never understand ppl who put so much effort into just a random little sign with a written text on it on your profile.

It's a sense of completion. People just like seeing things as complete.

It's why some people (like myself) go out of their way to get Prestige 3-50.

I know I don't have to do it, but I just like it.

If people don't like getting it, they wouldn't be attempting to get it in the first place. Otzdarva wouldn't be making guides for it either.

I’d be much happier if they took more time to fix content instead of focusing on new stuff more often. The same errors and bugs shouldn’t persist for YEARS.

Same here. The amount of times I get bugged as Killer and Survivor is insanely stupid.

Rubberbanding as Blight is the most consistent bug I've been experiencing and it's annoying.

The main issue with the reporting system is that the game doesn't save a match over view data set(Or whatever its called).

Effectively in most online games the servers record data points(Such as X,Y,Z data of each player and statuses) but not raw footage.

What this allows most devs to do is see if there's an impossible action happening such as survivors healing themselves impossibly fast as they'd either instantly change from injured to healthy or enter the healing state and finish before its mathematically possible to.

Or for more obvious ones such as killers using the wrong power or survivors running at impossible speeds without the proper statuses or gaining said speed statuses in impossible conditions. Or moving into impossible axes such as flying around the map.

So because DBD doesn't have this all the useful things above aren't recorded and thus rendering the reporting system nearly useless without filing a ticket with video evidence.

All of this could've been so easy to check if there's a check for everything.

Because there is an upper limit to how much you can do on your own as a Survivor. If your speed is not 100% and you don't have Status Effects like Haste and Hindred, then it's incredibly sus.

If you healed yourself in 1 second on your own, that should immediately be a red flag.

This is why EAC isn't good enough for a game like DBD. Maybe for shooters and ######### like that it works, but not a game that has a completely unique gameplay system llike DBD does.

If the Devs bothered testing to figure out what is IMPOSSIBLE for one player to do, it would be so SO much better.

  • Oh I misread.

Welp, don't mind me. Sorry about that.

Hawkins yes, and maybe original dead dog, but now survivors send me there intentionally because in order to have a chance I have to pretend I'm the Kool-aid man for the first five minutes to make the loops even remotely able to be ended.

The only true killer sided maps at this point are:

    Hawkins

    Shelter Woods

The Game Maybe depending on the Killer.

Meanwhile every killer groans when we see.

    Any McMillan Estate map

    Any Autohaven Map

    Any Coldwind Map

Midwich (I'll concede I think survivors hate this one almost as much as killers do)

    Lampkin Lane

    Badham Pre-School

The game is survivor sided if we're talking similar ranked killers and survivors. 4 red rank survivors, even in solo queue, are at an advantage against a red rank killer.

    "Any Coldwind Map"

In what world is a corn map Killer sided? I've won more games as Survivor there than in HadNoFun and I lost more games there than in HadNoFun. Granted that's because I get Corn maps way more than HadNoFun but it's still corn maps.

    This.

If you report and not follow up with a ticket, it won't do anything since it'll just be marked for Customer Support to look up.

But without the necessary evidence (clips and description of the event) in the report, usually nothing happens.

  • They should REALLY change their schedule to 2 chapters a year rather than ######### 4. Since 3 months per chapter is not going to be sustainable in the long term if the bugs are starting to pile up.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/266729/im-tired-of-how-strict-it-is-to-get-an-adept-killer

What? No, you just need your 3 perks and a double pip, then addons that supplement those 3 perks the best. You dont need 32k bp. You dont need a 4k unless you're red ranks. Besides, surviving as a survivor who only has their 3 specific perks might not be as specific, but its far from easy. You NEED to escape. You could double pip as a survivor, get all the above, best items, best offerings, best map, and still end up being face camped at the start of the game. Your adept as a survivor relies on the killer's attention to you specifically.

Besides, lets compare it to events:

Killers literally just need to be in the game. No kill requirement, no time requirement, nothing. They have to just reach their objective, interact with it, and tadaaa, done. 100% of the team got their objective.

Survivors need to escape, but survivors cant all escape, meaning best case scenario, 100% of them unlock the objective with the killer, worst case scenario, 0% gets it and they need to try again. Last year, I've spend almost 4 days in a row, 6 hours a day, just grinding to get all the crowns on survivor as there were killers who actively targetted people who unlocked the crown. For killers? I mean, 1 hour of just walking to the objective, getting it, not caring for the depip and just be afk the rest of the match. That's all they needed to do. Took me 3 hours in total since I decided to actually play the game instead of just grabbing the objective and being afk.

Now, does adepting all killers take 8 times as long as adepting all survivors? no, not really. Some are much harder to do, sure, but even then, it's not really that hard. Just look at how people like Tru3 and Dowsey have done the grandmaster adept killer challenge. No perks, no addons and still getting a double pip. Then apply that strategy, except with your killer specific perks helping you out.

You're comparing Tru3 and Dowsey to average people who play this game.

We don't play on the same level as them on pubs. It's like saying "Look! Spirit isn't completely problematic because she lost to Oracle!"

Killer adepts should not be so difficult as to tied to Emblems. You should not Double pip (especially in Red Ranks) when you've already done what the achievement has done before in the past (Which is to get a 4k).

Remember that? Because I'm sure you probably don't or try to forget about it. Back then you could use Moris (OLD MORIS) to get adepts because it was tied to a 4k rather than a Merciless. Now that they changed it to Merciless, it makes it significantly harder on certain Killers who gets screwed over on certain emblems.

  • If I get a free kill, hell yeah! More Bloodpoints!

Though the only time I ever give the Killer a free kill as survivor is if they legitimately should not have played against someone like me, and they did not have a fun time playing.

You mean the same thing Trickster has?

PWYF is bad on everyone except arguably Wraith because he gets tokens fast.

Twins, Doctor and Plague all got nerfed in a way related to PWYF so it can't be used well on them. It's not good on anyone overall because even Wraith will be wasting time to get tokens.

    Okay fair.

It would be a lot better if Special Attacks don't take away tokens tbh.

Do you live on the moon? Slinger is the most hated killer since Legion 1.0.

I've actually been away from DBD for a while, only recently got back around the time Trickster was released.

How exactly is Deathslinger toxic or hated? He is just a slightly worse Huntress. If the people who play him are toxic, that's on the people who play him, not the killer himself.

  • A lot of Killer obsession perks are just not very good...

Dead Man's Switch, Dying Light, Furtive Chase, Play With Your Food (on certain Killers due to the Basic and Special Attack requirement), New Remember Me...

  • Honestly the one thing I wanna change about Badham is having it only have ONE variation. Imagine you spawn at the end of the road. The two story house should be right next to you. Moving forward from that is the school.

To your left is Killer Shack, and moving forward from that gives you the God House with the basement.

I'm only saying this variation because it's the most fair in terms of tile placements that doesn't completely ######### over both sides.

I forgot which variation this is, but it's the one I found to be the most balanced for both sides in terms of fun and kills alike.

  • @Shroompy said:

Okay, so I don't have a video. But, I will explain in vivid details of what happened.

I was Deathslinger on the MacMillan Coal Mines and I had the addon that allows me to insta down a survivor a survivor at a certain radius away. My discordance went off and I went to go pay the survivors a visit. I walked up and I see a Dwight in the distance, clicky-clicky. They kept running in circles far away and I decided "Meh. Why not?"

I looked down the sights and fired. Typically, the Dwight missed, I sighed, but shortly after I heard a scream. I shot a Blendette whom I didn't even see who was on a gen and at the maximum range possible for Deathslinger. I was dumbfounded. Dwight stopped to stare, Claudette wasn't even moving, and I think an Ash came to look as well.

Holy #########! That happened to me on another map as Survivor!

I wasn't even mad, I was just laughing my ass off to suddenly be speared out of nowhere in a corn map.

  • Dead Man's Switch is what Gen Regression is to as Furtive Chase is a stealth perk.

It's just way too hard to use and when you do get to use it, it has an incredibly underwhelming effect.

  • @xEa said:

My "rules": Well, not really rules, but thats how i am:

If they are not toxic, they get hatch.

If they give up and stop running, i let them farm.

If they dont want to play serious for some reason, we farm.

I never play a toxic killer. No Twins, no Deathslinger and only in very rare occasions i would play Spirit.

    Thats about it.

How the ######### is Deathslinger toxic? In what world is a worse Huntress toxic to you?

  • Honestly I just wanna get good plays. I don't care if I win or not, but getting plays like these are far FAR more satisfying than getting 4ks every game.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5Bx9aw5oXI

However if I am in need of quick bloodpoints to level up a character for a specific perk, I am going to pull out the usual meta builds to be able to maximize the amount of points I need. Especially during the event.

  • I usually only have one rule in general for all my killers:

"If you Decisive Strike me, I'd be more likely to target you over other Survivors."

I mean Killers do it to me too as Survivor, so I figure why not?

Oh, and if you're Jill and I'm playing Nemesis, sorry but I am canonically obligated to tunnel you or mori you.

  • I don't think this is a testament to Blight players, this is just a testament to how strong that combo is on any Killer with any mobility.

I'm pretty sure this works really well on Wraith and Billy too.

  • ######### that.

That was one of the worst things about Hatches.

  • I'm not entirely sure Last Year would've been up to snuff. The gameplay loop seemed a lot less balanced than modern DBD to me.

  • If they feel the need to be like that, and exploit a bug to annoy you, does that count as reportable under Exploits?

I mean they are purposefully doing something to prevent you from hitting them.

  • I won't let people escape if I can help it in my Killer games.

But escaping as a Solo Survivor in Rank 1 is a different story entirely.

  • @Snowbawlzzz said:

No idea why killers can't customize their power (IE chainsaw skins, bottle skins for clown, new vomit effects for plague etc)

    It's a no-brainer and a massive cash cow

    Actually good point.

Why CAN'T we change how our powers look like? That sounds like easy money.

  • You're not the only one who hates the Emblems as Survivor...

As Killer I can pip easily every game because all of my emblems are tied to me doing my objective.

But as Survivor? ######### hell... One of them is tied to ALTRUISM AND THAT IS ENTIRELY TIED TO YOUR TEAMMATES GOING DOWN AND THE KILLER NOT BEING #########!

Also let's not forget that you also need to survive for long enough to get a Silver emblem if you die. Oh wait what's that? You escaped and you got hooked or downed once? ######### you, have a gold emblem.

Oh yeah, let's not forget what happens if you're chased all game. You get diddly squat for Lightbringer.

But at least you got max Chaser riiiight? WRONG! Because you need to make sure you also escape which is pretty ######### difficult with certain Killers. Especially those who can down you before you notice they're there.

  • Buff Solo Queue, and then Buff Killers appropriately.

You will never ever beat an Optimal SWF as a Killer if they wnat to win, but that is how the game is meant to be played anyways. The four beating the one if they work together optimally. Of course the Killer should still have a chance at winning, but right now you the one thing that desperately needs to happen is Solo Queue being buffed and Killers being buffed as a result.

And this also needs to happen during the SAME update as to not cause any cause for concern like with Keys and Moris.

If you buff Solo Queue that means Solo Survivor won't be such a pain to play. And because Survivors overall will be stronger, every killer would need to be buffed as a result which allows for less jank and more control for the Killer if they are willing to put the work into it.

You get nowhere by nerfing SWF. Because nerfing things are always going to cause an uproar. But buffing both Solo Queue and Killers at the same time would force SWF to be on the same playing field for the Killers.

  • @Orion said:

Oh, I agree. However, I'm pretty sure that's why the devs don't want to use black bars, because the ultrawide people won't like it.

If not Black Bars, then make it so they cannot see over loops and walls. One of the most bullshit things about Streched Res is the fact that it makes mindgaming survivors practically impossible.

  • Please. I'd love to listen to the Silent Hill background music again when I launch the game. That was genuinely one of my favourite moments in DBD and I want to relive it.

And yeah, having a different loading screen (similarly to how Musedash does it) could work.

To get Adept as Survivor you have to repair at least two and a half gens solo, no help from anyone. You have to unhook at least three other Survivors and can't be downed more than once yourself. You have to cleanse one set of the following; A) four Dull totems, B) two Hex Totems, or C) one Hex Totem and two Dull Totems. You have to open one chest by yourself, no completing one someone else started but didn't open. You have to vault at least four windows while in chase and have to pallet stun the Killer at least twice. You have to escape alive, doesn't matter if it's the Exit Gate or The Hatch. Then you get your Adept Survivor Achievement.

Instead of just being able to jog around the edges of the map to avoid crows and hiding the whole game waiting to get Hatch.

I think for Adepts. on both sides, it would be fine if you just had to reach four Golds, or an Iridescent, two Golds, and a Silver for a bit more leeway. However, Killer Emblems are just not balanced when it comes to some Killers so even that might be hard to not get a single Bronze.

(For the record I have all but three Adepts, those three being the three new characters because I have not bought the DLC. Some of the Adepts, both survivor and Killer, took me many attempts. As Survivor it was often because I was either tunnled or facecamped or just had a [bad word] team. As Killer it was often because I had little to no pressure and couldn't get Iridescent Gatekeeper and other times it was because the team I was against was just straight up better than me.)

Yeah sounds about right. It's equally as frustrating and jumps as much hoops as trying to get a Killer adept on a Killer that can instadown.

  • I'm not a massive fan of it purely because it can be made to give off a massive advantage.

Like imagine a Survivor model that is stretched so they can't hide and the Killer knows where they are.

I do hope BHVR cracks down on it soon, since there is a lot of potential it can be misused. DBD is not the kind of game that should be modded extensively. It should have customizations like with Perk Icons or character portraits since only you can see them, but anything that effects the actual game should stay banned.

  • @NerfedFreddy said:

Killer adepts are fine. Also they are optional. Some achievements are supposed to be challenging. Just 4k is too easy to be achievement

And Survivors just escaping to get it is fine without doing anything?

How about this? Instead of making adepts easier, make it on par for Survivors in terms of how difficult it is.

Probably because half of games nothing but Wraith, with all seeing eye, so annoying.

And when rarely play killer my best performing one Wraith, otherwise I am purple at most, but with Wraith red ranked.

He is so simple to play and only very good survivor can destroy Wraith, but most player cant do anything against Wraith, and he is 100% to get a free hit, insane lunge, broken addons. And insane speed to.

No skill at all, brainless, cant be countered unless one is a god looper

Honestly we need to stop putting people down for playing someone just because it's easy.

I mean look at Survivor gameplay.

We don't put people down for playing Survivor, now do we?

Not really a need for mechanical skill, learn a couple of jukes and loops, just hope your teammates do the same.

Unless of course, you just want to win easily and not care that other people are also having fun? Because that sounds like it.

Wraith is brainless, you master him after 10 games.

Yet he is extremely strong for no effort.

He isn't extremely strong. Oh my freaking god.

Are M1 Killers just strong now if they have any kind of mobility?

  • His lacerations are reduced to 6 knives before injuring a survivor.

He now throws knives faster, and you can keep Main Event for 30 seconds.

Main Event also now shoots knives at an insane rate.

Literally every 2m there's a LOS blocker for him. Long range shots are impossible as the survivor has tons of things to get stuck on. You're basically relying on close range shots which require a lot of time closing distance.

His best maps are Autohaven for a reason. They're the opposite of Lery's.

Really? I've always had a good time playing him in Lery's because of a lot of the things you mentioned.

I never found issue with the LOS blockers in that map because like I said, they're mostly able to be shot over.

  • @Kebek said:

I think it can be done quite simply.

Make her husk completely disappear while phasing, each 3-6s while phasing she appears to survivors with the short half a second phase she does while normally walking.

That alone would fix a lot of the frustrations she has, if it proved too big and it'd became very easy to mindgame her phase, just buff her baseline numbers to have higher duration, speed, recovery etc after that.

Kebek, pretty sure if you buff her baseline numbers people will go back to hating her again even if you do that nerf onto her.

I mean look at what they're doing to Wraith right now.

  • Something I noticed recently.

Why not make her husk immediately burned when flashlighted?

Giving her a global indicator is potentially one of the worst things you could do to her. But letting you know if she is faking it or not would immediately let you know something's up and act appropriately afterwards.

I know her husk still burns after being flashlighted, but I mean INSTANTLY, not a couple of seconds after.

  • No, it's still the same.

Personally I never had issues with performance except the occasional crash (but that happens with every game). I understand if people are annoyed at the performance issues, but I can't really be mad if I am not personally affected by it.
