This just proves that it's a repeating trend to complain about anything that becomes strong and popular for each side.
Wraith is just the flavor of this couple months complain posts, I can't wait to see what comes next. Soon it'll probably be "Pig is too overwhelimg, nerf her" even if no change are done to her for years (besides the nerfs ofc).
I've been playing Headpopping Pig. I won't be surprised if people are calling for nerfs for her soon.
Next up we're going to have people claim CMWinter is proof that Pig is overpowreed.

Making Kindred and a totem counter basekit is all I'm asking for. Just turn Kindreds killer aura reading down from 16m to 6, so you can still see the killer is around hook, but no give any information where the killer is heading after a hook. Then have Kindred give extra killer aura reading. These two changes will give solo survivors the same amount of information as SWF has.
Otherwise they need to add a ping system with messages like "Going for unhook.", "Doing a gen" etc, and thought I love that idea, I feel like it'd be kinda out of place in DbD.
Ping System helps a ton.
Just saying this as someone who plays Risk of Rain 2 multiplayer a lot, just pointing at something helps SO much without saying anything.
"Get this."
"Objective here."
"Hide here before they kill you."

What about legacy? It was rewarded to those who had to deal with the old grind just to prestige their characters, I don't see why not.
Plus it'd be a surprise instead of forcing people.
Because Legacy is different.
I'm just tired of seeing exclusive cosmetics tied to BS challenges and achievements in this game. It should just be changed and that's that. And that is also coming from someone who has gotten every achievement in the game. I don't want more exclusive charms. We don't need it.
-

To make it more fair for those who got adept before it would get reworked, give 'em a special charm for each character they got their adept on. Like a Trapper charm for those who got adept Trapper. Not sure how'd they do that but I'm sure they can get creative.
No no, I feel like we shouldn't force people to do a broken challenge for a dumb cosmetic.
We don't need more exclusive crap that makes the game worse for people playing it.
Just make it easier and more fair and that's it.

Midwich.
It's always the best map for me for some reason. I just love how atmospheric and symmetrical it is.

Adept achievements is why I purposefully derank to Green Ranks if I ever want to attempt it. It's just not worth doing it in high rank where you need to play PERFECTLY according to the pip system especially for killers who suck at getting Chaser points.

Yeah, I get the exhausted feeling often as a red ranked killer. To the point that playing that role feels like it's more trouble than it's worth.
Although I've been playing for 1149 hours and still feel like I've hardly improved. So that could be a factor.
I've been playing 3000 hours and even though I feel like I always improve, it still leaves me stressed at the end of the day.
-
That isn't overkill on spirit, my friend.
-
Honestly I kinda wish I can stay in Green Ranks more often.
Games are not too sweaty, so I can chill as Killer without feeling like I need to pull the earth everytime I play.
Red Rank games always leaves me exhausted at the end, and idk if that is a good feeling to have.

Nea's one of the characters who gets tons of cosmetic attention for how many players play her. Getting two outfits in the same collection is a bit weird, but it might just be a confluence of marketing factors - this character sells well and this aesthetic sells well, we already did two relatively unpopular survivors with Zarina and Yun-Jin in this batch, and Nea's next up in the cash cow line, so get to work on her. Something like that.
Honestly I just hope to see something else for Zarina that feels more casual. Not like she's on a Talk Show or doing a performance.

So, the Killer Kills, and the Survivor Survives. They are contradictory. Expecting a 4K every game is just as insulting as expecting a 4E. Also, keep in mind that I still fully support the inclusion and capability of a Killer being able to Tunnel/Camp, I just don't think that the resulting easier 4K is the right way to... reward those things.
So, we have come to see a problem you're describing: Gen speeds. What is it about them, currently, that you don't like? What doesn't feel fun, or fair, about them from a Killer perspective?
The condescending attitude you're giving off tells me you're trolling or baiting or genuinely have no idea how to play the game. I'm going to go with "have no clue"
Tell me. Does it feel good to see three generators pop in the distance when you've only secured just one down? And one hook?
The reason Killers can stop survivors and give themselves time is because the time it takes for a Killer to get 12 hooks and the time it takes for Survivors to finish 5 generators are not equal. The Killer needs to buy themselves more time.
Why do you think Pop and Ruin become so popular? Or NOED for that matter? Because gen speeds can go by really really fast, especially in higher ranks where people are playing more seriously.

Oh no, you're defending the "devs playbook". Understanding underlying code and abusing it is also a tactic. Just not fun being on the receiving end, is it?
The other Players can "punish" this tactic by just DC'ing and denying the hacker the experience of using their "skill" on live persons. But that isn't a fair expectation, is it?
...
Having some pre-defined set of expectations is important. And this is a Horror game, so Killers are expected to be able to get a Kill. But dismissing any complaints as just "these are the rules, stop complaining", is a bit dismissive, especially when you can try to understand the root cause for these complaints in the first place.
People don't like Camping, Tunneling (Sacrificed state), Slugging, all because it takes them out of the action, there is nothing that they can do while in these states, so how could this be addressed in a way that retains the Killers ability to keep them in these states, while also giving the Survivor player a feeling of agency?
You don't. That's the point of the hooks. You take away the survivor's agency and ability to do anything and forces someone else to come get them. That's literally the design behind Killers like Deathslinger and Trickster. They're so oppressive in chase that you can't do much to dodge them if they are good enough.
Yet those two are still considered low tier killers because they don't have any map pressure.
It's a 1v4 game, if every survivor can still contribute to the game when they're downed and hooked then the game balance is going to swing much more in their favour.
The Killer is expected to take from Survivors and Survivors are expected to do the same. All DBD is in reality is a game of attrition between two sides. The Killer needs to drain the survivor's hook states and the Survivors needs to drain the killer's generators. The side who can do it faster while making sure the other side cannot do their objective is the one who will be the winner in the end.
I've been facecamped, tunneled, and slugged by every kind of Killer on the face of this earth. But at this point I've come to expect it from over 3k hours playing this game. If a Killer is facecamping me, it tells me that either they need me to secure a kill during endgame or they don't want me to get away again after I chased them for over 4 gens.
If you don't expect being camped, tunneled, or slugged at the highest ranks in DBD then I suggest taking a chill pill from this game.
There's a reason why slugging is a lot more effective than facecamping or tunneling. Facecamping and tunneling just takes out one person from the game. Slugging forces everyone to stop working on generators to attempt a rescue or have every single person downed as a result which allows the Killer to start picking off targets.
-
That is something EVERYONE has been asking. But it seems like the devs are plugging their ears and screaming la-la-land everytime this comes up.

So assuming boon totems do come out. If they are the same as killer totems high risk, high reward. As a killer would you wanna go looking around for survivor totems for a while. Would you mind having to waste an entire minute looking for a totem?
Lets say the survivor totem has a 5 second bamboozle for killer. Or it removed bloodlust for killers.
Killers go everywhere, of course they're going to stumble upon totems much more regularly than Survivors do.
You make it sound like I hate this, but I really don't.
Totems shouldn't be instantly spotted and destroyed. That's not high risk, that's just the game telling you your build won't work anymore.
-
@CashelP14 said:
Maps are part of the high risk, high reward.
There are maps like Wreckers Yard and Coal Tower where the maps are small and totems are easy to find. Coal Tower is a good example of a map where totem spots aren't bad, but well known.
You have maps like Midwitch, Lerys, Hawkins and Raccoon Police Station that are really difficult to find totems. Even include the Swamp maps in here too.
Then you have maps like Rotten Fields where your totems can be amazingly hidden in the corn if your lucky or in a random tile where they'll get cleansed quick.
If all totem spots were amazing then perks like Undying would need reworked. Unless it's an indoor map then totems aren't too hard to find because the good survivors learn the best spots and check them first.
Also to the point about survivor perks, it's a good thing they have them. This means they aren't running the meta perks everyone cries about. I'd rather see Counterforce and Small Game than Dead Hard and Unbreakable.
I wanna counter this.
Swamp maps has GUARANTEED totem spawns that are insanely easy to spot, especially in the Docks. At least it feels like it's guaranteed. Everytime I spawn there that flipping map has two totem spawns near the shack that makes me want to cry.
-
While I am not a big fan of some parts of the map, I do want to play more on it so I don't get lost in it.
I have a ton of RPD offerings I wish I can burn.

@Trickstaaaaa said:

-
One of the main reasons why games like Last Year and Home Sweet Home is having a hard time keeping it's server slots filled (though Last Year more so than HSH) is BECAUSE of the revival system.
Taking out some of the pressure from the game by permanently killing off one of your opponents as Killer is why people are able to keep playing Killer without getting absolutely steamrolled every game.
Being facecamped is a Leatherface problem, but the developers have said in the past that facecamping isn't considered cheating. People are free to do so if they want, and you are not likely to face facecampers every game. Because if a Killer camps the hook, that is most likely just going to be a detriment to them. It's why despite basement Bubba being a meme, no one really runs it.
No one wants to feel like all of their progress is completely nullified when playing the supposed "Power Role" in an asymm game. You're forced to split your pressure on multiple points of the map and that is not very fun, is it?
If one survivor is about to die, you'd be stupid to not make sure they stay dead because that makes it one less survivor that will be holding M1 on generators.
-
I wouldn't mind them being high risk high reward if that that wheel of risk didn't include "Survivor spawns right next to lit totem"
Nothing gets me more discouraged to keep playing other than hearing two totems pop in the distance when I built my whole build around getting Devour Hope stacks.

Because the ones that asked for a Wraith buff, were killer players.
While the ones that ask for a nerf are survivor players.
Doesn´t matter what they do, one side will always be mad.
I think the problem with Wraith is that it's the people who play it, not really the killer itself.
Sure he is easy, but is that a problem? Not every Killer needs the level of technical skill Huntress or Deathslinger has.
The people who call killers brainless for choosing these killers honestly needs to take a chill pill.

"Killer Hate"
Okay buddy.

Oooh boy.
I don't even want to begin.
Wraith was the very definition of "Add-on Reliant" to be anywhere near viable in higher ranks.
I'd argue he is almost as bad as Trapper in terms of needing Add-ons to work well.
His rework is fine. It's not even a rework, it's just a couple of buffs that makes him less reliant on add-ons as a whole and not a pain to play.

SB is awesome, I really like it, especially when I'm doing a generator in a dead zone. I can run to a safe tile quickly. But It stresses me out! I start running at the start of the trial, I feel I waste it. In the same time, I don't want to walk to save it, because I waste time then.

Thanks again for all the tips. Really helpful! I guess now all I have to do is practicing!
Yeah, the bottom tip. Line that up with the middle of your screen and that's where your hatchets will launch from. The more you play the less you need to use that to measure your aim. You'll just have an invisible crosshair on your screen where you know the hatchets will land.

As someone who plays Blight constantly.
Not being able to use your power if you get stunned during it is the absolute worst. Especially during CRUCIAL moments during a match. The way to fix it is to M1 again but that would just make you lose the chase.
Also hitboxes.
FREAKING HITBOXES!
I can't list how many times Ormond and Red Forest has cucked me with freaking hitboxes.
Also I want to add to this:
Breaking pallets with your power can sometimes stun you for 10 SECONDS!
You can't move, you can't attack. You cannot do anything but get stunned for the equivalent of 2 Decisive Strikes.
You can sometimes double-click without even doing it and waste so many tokens trying to get through a small gap in the wall.
You can get screwed over CONSTANTLY by Dead Hard and Auto-Aim. Making his power really hard to use if the Survivor uses Dead Hard. They don't even need to time it that well.

To be fair to blight players:
Their power experiences at a minimum one game breaking bug every single game that costs them a chase.
Also from personal experiences there's usually 8-12 game breaking bugs a game if not more.
So they kinda have to sweat to make up for their killer not working a LOT of the time, as blight also experiences bugs that can flat-out disable your power for extended periods of time unless you know how to fix them.

I actually have a concept:
Pull survivors into the Dream World
-Survivors who are awake do not see The Nightmare.
-Once targeted by The Nightmare’s power, survivors enter the Dream Transition for 7 seconds.
-The Nightmare’s Movement Speed Penalty for putting a survivor into the Dream Transition lasts for 1 second.
-During the Dream Transition Survivors can see The Nightmare intermittently and they suffer from the Incapacitated status effect.
-When the Dream Transition Lapse, the Survivor is pulled into the Dream World.
Once in the Dream World:
-Survivor’s auras are revealed to The Nightmare when they are outside of his terror radius.
-Survivors suffer an action speed penalty of 40%.
-To exit the Dream World, Survivors can find non-sleeping Survivors to perform a wake up action.
-Failed Generator Skill Checks can also wake up.
-Hooked Survivors wake up.
Special Ability: Dream Projection
-Teleport to a Generator in view. Releasing the button early will cancel the action.
-Survivors cannot interact with the targeted Generator.
-For each Survivor in the Dream World, the cool-down of using Dream Projection is reduced by stack-able 20%.
“You have nothing to worry about. This won’t hurt one… little… bit.” -Freddy Krueger
Hang on a second! That's just old Freddy with teleportation abilities!
You sly dog you.
Though I'd rather see that over the snares and pallets of today. Old Freddy was heaps of fun.
-
As long as the Survivors don't do anything especially annoying or BMing, usually I'd just treat them like any other survivor.
If I'm dominating them, I'd try to give them a chance so I can get more points. If it's an even match, I'd try my hardest to make sure I go back to dominating them. But if they're bringing the pain train, I would show no mercy and make sure you leave this match dead with no points.
It doesn't matter if the survivor is cocky or confident. If you're competent, then that's when the fun begins.
-
I kinda wish I can just not play with certain regions near me.
I don't mind playing against good survivors. It's just finding good survivors who just won't act like a scumbag in-game.
Other than that, yeah. Green ranks tend to be where the most "fun" matches you'll get comes from. Purely because you don't really play against people who want to see you sweat for just one hook.

Pop and Corrupt seem to be popular choice in the answers. I will give them a try, and Whispers as well. If you had to chose between Corrupt and Pop, which one would you keep?
About Iron Maiden... I wanna use it only for the speed reload but... If someone comes out of a locker, do you take time to come back to down them? As a 110% Killer, I don't know if it worth it, unless the Survivor is close.
I never played game where I have to aim, I guess it'll take a long time before I can do a big ranged shot. But I'll try to go for riskier shots. For now, I don't care if everyone escapes at the end, as long as I feel I improved a bit/learnt something. I already adjusted my DPI to my tastes, I think it's perfect for me as it is now. So I can start learning with it.
What is "flick"? I hear this word often, especially about Blight, but I have to admit I have no idea what is it.
Thanks for the tips, it really helps! I will do my best to be at least a decent Huntress.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2362820#Comment_2362820
Oh, shoot. Like, Whispers is activated because someone's hooked, so it doesn't tell if someone else is actually around?
"Pop and Corrupt seem to be popular choice in the answers. I will give them a try, and Whispers as well. If you had to chose between Corrupt and Pop, which one would you keep?"
If you are using Whispers, use Pop instead. Corrupt is mainly for early gen-pressure as well as early tracking. But for constrant gen-pressure, you want to use Pop since it incentivizes you to do quick downs and hooks.
Definitely not. Iron Maiden is useful in terms of forcing survivors to be tracked by BBQ anyways, but it's not worth it to go out of your way to down them with your melee attack. You're a 110% speed killer, you need to create a zone within the map where you can dominate survivors and keep them there. If someone is spamming Iron Maiden screams though, you kinda have to get used to it's really really annoying. I hope BHVR does something about the spam.
Basically, use Iron Maiden for reloads and tracking information if BBQ didn't show you everyone's auras.
Best way to learn how to aim your hatchets is to look at the tip of your hatchet's handle and aim at the middle of the screen from there. Your best bet to getting better at Huntress (at close range) and learning her hatchet hitboxes is to try and throw hatchets over short loop tiles. Like the ones you often see in Gas Heaven or McMillan. Remember you sometimes need to aim higher than you expect.
A flick is when you look another direction to throw off the Survivor and then move back to their direction so they can't dodge it. It's very quick and it's mostly muscle memory and reflexes hence the term "flicking". I suggest watching CoconutRTS videos. He is one of the best Huntress to learn from if you wanna learn how to flick properly.
Actually let me link a couple of his videos:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3q7nXbknj5U https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVcoLOpkbMU -
I've been playing a lot of Huntress, and you can copy my build if you want. It's imo, the best build to use if you want to play territorial:
BBQ, Pop Goes the Weasel, Corrupt Intervention, Iron Maiden
With Add-ons go for the Flower Babushka & Rose Root combo. This allows you to basically wind up and shoot your hatchets before a Survivor have time to react. Especially if you're going for long ranged shots.
The Rose Root helps throw off their prediction when trying to wiggle away from your hatchets with the extra 20% flight speed.
As for how to use the perks.
Obviously use Iron Maiden to reload faster, this allows you to be more risky with your shots because you won't take as long reloading.
BBQ should be used for long ranged snipes if you can help it, particularly on survivors on generators. But if you can, try to predict whether or not a Survivor will be a W gamer and shoot them from across the map when they least expect it.
Pop is for gen pressure, like I said you want to play territorial. Find a 3-gen and make sure it doesn't pop.
Corrupt is for early pressure. Not only to prevent Survivors from immediately working on generators, but also to find them since Survivors tend to spawn next to corrupt gens.
With aim, you want to just keep playing her and go for riskier and riskier shots. Eventually you'll get a feel on how to aim with her. Try to keep your mouse DPI to something you feel you can control rather than going for flicks all the time. You want to have consistency.
Not saying you shouldn't learn to flick, just don't do it when you're trying to learn her. Get the basics out of the way until you feel you can get good at her, then start doing crazier and crazier stuff with her.

The issue is the price of copies of DBD on alternative accounts. and the ease of purchasing hacks. Alternative DBD accounts can cost only 2-3 USD if you know where to get them, and an external cheat client lasts for every possible copy of the game you get, meaning they don't need to bother spending money on consecutive purchases. spending 2-3 dollars every few weeks to cause havoc is hardly a punishment.
Yeah, the guy when I called him out decided to be a little nuisance and started talking about how everyone else is the cheater.
Then he changed his steam profile into "I'm a cheater". Valve really needs to crack down on people selling steam accounts and DBD needs a much better anti cheat system.
