The reason is to stop hackers just gaining infinite BP.

It makes it slightly more inconvenient to hack and try and P3 every character.

This may not sound like much of a deterrent, but imagine trying to hack this amount of BP rn:

    ((1*3)*(24+26))=3*50=150.

They'd have to hack 150 times to just P3 everyone no matter get every perk on everyone.

Now that's one hell of a deterrent.

I assure you that isn't going to stop people from cheating.

That's still much MUCH faster than grinding it out.

  • Getting insane sniper shots as either Huntress or Deathslinger or even getting a final laceration shot from far away as Trickster.

Projectile killers are amongst my favourite killers to play as in this game. And they give me so much satisfaction when I play as them.

  • @ShinobuSK said:

No because killer queue time is horrible

    In what region?

For me Survivor queue takes forever and Killer queue is nearly instant.

  • I much prefer original characters to licensed characters.

Original characters has more of a chance to be a better killer than licensed characters. Hell, most of the licensed Killers that we got are pretty bad in comparison or are not as interesting as they should be given their license.

  • I always screenshot them whenever I play Killer.

But here's one that's very old that should be appreciated more.

  • To be perfectly honest, I would HATE to have to have a chance of going to yet another corn map.

But I wouldn't mind seeing a map based around Blight, Twins, and Trickster. Since we never got anything from them.

  • Don't really care about escaping. I sometimes would even sacrifice myself to make sure more people get out like some kind of action hero.

I just want to have fun.

Which is hard to do when the Killer sometimes just stays on your ass in a dead zone over and over again.

Now here is someone who knows what they are talking about!

This is what I've aimed for on my proposed idea for a Freddy rework.

I used to main Old Freddy when he was still around in Rank 1. Honestly he is still the most fun Killer I've played in DBD and I would love to see him back again.

  • Honestly the only thing that made Old Freddy weak was the fact that he couldn't do anything when survivors are going to sleep.

Keep the teleportation Freddy has right now and bring back old Freddy.

Because it is basically the only Anti-Tunnel Perk which exists. Especially in Solo Queue I cannot really guarantee if that guy who unhooks me does it safely or if they even have BT.

It is not a good Anti-Tunnel Perk, but basically the only one. That is why it is taken.

Are you certain? Because there are a whole slew of other anti-tunnel perks out there. It's just not used as much because it isn't as powerful or as strong as Decisive Strike is.

Borrowed Time helps you get a free hit from the Killer while injured.

Off the Record/Lucky Break helps you get away from the Killer to hide and make sure you're not spotted.

Deliverance allows you to unhook yourself while the Killer is away.

Literally any Exhaustion perk that allows you to make a large distance from the Killer.

They are good, they help you from being tunneled. But they're not as useful as Decisive Strike could be. And the fact that the developers nerfed Decisive Strike so it doesn't work if you're working on anything shows that they realize how powerful this perk is, and wouldn't want to touch it, let alone buff it in the near future.

The reason Decisive Strike is useful is that 5 second stun. That allows you to make significant distance from the Killer. More than Lithe and Sprint Burst could. More than hiding with Off the Record or Iron Will could.

But that isn't necessarily going to help you get away from being tunneled by the Killer if he REALLY wants you dead. Buffing Decisive Strike already makes a powerful perk even more powerful and even more annoying.

Like I said before, I joked that people want to compensate nerfs with something else. And this is exactly what I mean.

A nerf is a nerf because whatever it nerfs was too powerful or too easily abusable by players. So they changed it so it isn't as easily abused.

For what it is, Decisive Strike is fine. It isn't going to stop a stubborn killer, but it would discourage Killers from picking you up too early or risk eating the stun. Either way, you're better off keeping it on if you're having trouble with Killers instantly coming back to your hook.

  • I didn't know that you could lunge. I spent the first 100 hours or so of playing DBD not knowing you could hold your M1 to lunge.

    I was really ######### stupid.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2331350#Comment_2331350

There are multiple things you can do:

    • Timer stops while being chased or slugged (which would be a true Anti-Tunnel Perk since you still get tunneled when you are chased off the Hook or slugged immediatly)
    • Make it activate twice
    • Increase the timer
    • Remove Scratchmarks, Grunts of Pain and Blood for a few seconds after the stun to allow the Survivor to gain distance

I also hope that they buff DS at some point to make the Anti-Tunnel stronger, since Killers dont really give a ######### if they get hit by DS or not, if they eat it early, they can tunnel the Survivor out of the game after their second Hook.

Apparently it's still strong enough to be in every ######### survivor build in Solo Queue. That's like saying BBQ needs to be buffed because the aura reading isn't strong enough.

DS really doesn't need to be stronger. It's fine where it is right now.

  • A ding ding ding.

  • Looks at my Blight build

    I mean fair enough.

But what do you want people to do? Not run those perks? I'd like to not see Dead Hard every game either, but people love running those perks anyways so why should I judge them based on what they want to bring?

As long as someone's having fun rather than just sweat and tryhard all game, I don't really see anything wrong with the perk combo.

Though to be fair. I also rarely ever go against Blight in Rank 1, so maybe I just don't have the experience.

  • Hey remember that joke I made about how some people think that nerfing Decisive Strike to 30 seconds would have some people wanting it to be activated twice?

I feel like this thread skirts that pretty closely.

someone may find fun from winning, because it feels rewarding. fun is subjective, i understand it's difficult to accept for a community like this

Wait a second! Winning is not important? So why we are playing PvP game then?

And also this is normal for now because everyone are playing with every killers for crowns. Same for survivors. But normal times i can not see weak killers so much.

Spirit, Freddy, Nurse, Oni, Huntress, Deathslinger, Bubba, Blight etc. I am facing with them so much. Myers? 1 or 2 of them in month. Ghosty? I do not remember when i saw one of them last time. Trickster? I don't know where is he. Clown? Same with Trickster. And i can keep write for others because they are rare.

But sure, play with weak killers and get destroy by good survivor teams :d You can lose but it is not important. Because DelsKibara said fun is important.

But win more important. I have so much wins with Blight & Freddy. Why i have to play with Trapper?

Yes, having fun in a game is more important :)

I hope that you find that out for yourself too in the near future. If only for your mental health and wellness.

I feel like an ok solution to not bust her phasing full stop would be perhaps if she STARTS the phase within say 8 meters of you then give an audio cue, this was it doesn't ruin her stealth if she phases from long distance but if she is doing the standstill 'mindgame' you can tell it's a bait. It's just an idea from the top of my head might not be the best fix

Actually. That might work. But I doubt BHVR could make that work and not somehow break it given their track record.

nah starstruck gives it away and causes people to run early. counterintuitive. plus you miss out on those BPs

Fair enough. But some people are still dumb enough to go for Flashy saves with it.

  • It means that it defeats the purpose of nerfing it in the first place.

Imagine you nerf Decisive Strike from what it is now.

Like after 30 seconds, it expires. But to compensate for you, Decisive Strike can now be used multiple times.

It completely defeats the purpose as to why it was nerfed. Because now it's just better in some other way.

Why when we write some killers need buffs, people like you writing "get good". :d Dude you get good, not me. I am okey with my killers already. I want variety. Because i bored facing with same killers again and again. People don't wanna play with weak killers and most m1 killers are weak.

But yeah, geeeeett goooood right. Bye :(

People don't wanna play with Weak Killers?

Thinks back to the amount of times I faced "Weak Killers" in Red ranks

No no no, I think you missed the point. People who only care about winning don't want to play weak killers.

Most people still play weak killers because they find them fun. And those people would likely still enjoy the game and excel at it because they play the game for fun, not to fit your closed mindset.

Also, as far as I can tell from my own matches during my Survivor Crown streak. The killers I've been facing has been a variety of Killers. Just from memory alone, I've faced:

Trapper, Wraith, Billy, Nurse, Myers, Hag, Doctor, Huntress, Bubba, Freddy, Clown, Spirit, Legion, Demogorgon, Oni, Deathslinger, Pyramid Head, Blight, Twins, Trickster, Nemesis.

Sure, Pig, Plague and Ghostface aren't there. But I've seen almost the entire roster during just my attempt to get the crowns for Survivors.

Maybe it's a problem with you and not DBD as a whole. There is such a thing as confirmation bias where you remember facing a Spirit way more than facing any other Killer. So you think you want variety when in reality you already have it.

  • @MadLordJack said:

Given that it's also the post-game chat, it really does feel like the community as a whole.

Weirdly enough, I rarely see people complain about that in Post-Game chat. About ######### like balance or what not. Maybe it's just confirmation bias that makes you think it's as common as it is. Or maybe it's mine.

  • Not necessarily boring, just my personal gripe.

I just don't like playing against Trapper. His traps makes me paranoid. It's one of the only times when I just would full on play immersed because I just don't want to deal with being chased and suddenly vaulting into a trap and getting downed as a result. It's so annoying.

As for fun, I don't really care really. Every killer can be fun. I don't care who plays what as long as the person playing it isn't an #########.

Every Killer can be camping/tunneling/BMing piece of #########. And it doesn't matter who it is.

Are there some killers who I prefer over others? Yes. I prefer facing Billy the most because realistically he is an M1 Killer most of the time and I don't give him many chances to use his chainsaw. So he is the easiest for me to deal with.

Are there some Killers I dislike and think needs to be changed? Absolutely.

But I play the game for fun. I don't really care if someone plays a Killer I am not personally a fan of. It goes both ways obviously. The Killer can dislike the fact I run Dead Hard, even though it's my favourite Exhaustion Perk because of how interactive it is during a chase. But they have to deal with it because I like playing a chase playstyle.

Same way some people may like playing a setup Killer like Trapper or Hag and jumpscare the everliving ######### out of me.

  • @MadLordJack said:

Yeah, every wave of changes see one side heavily favoured over the other and the community completely forgets about the big picture or that their side was favoured last time.

    I don't think it's the community as a WHOLE.

It's mainly the subreddit and this forum. You can lose some braincells if you don't take breaks from interacting with the two.

  • I guess I must be an outlier then because the Killers I play that lacks mobility still can do really well in Rank 1.

That being Trickster, Huntress, Deathslinger, Bubba, Nemesis.

Notice something else though? Most of them have insane Chase potential. Meaning they dominate in the 1v1 but needs help for map pressure. So just get better at chases. And pick better perk synergies if you play the game to win. Otherwise, just play the game for fun. Who cares if they don't have map mobility?

I know you do baits, but I'm just biting this once because I can't resist telling someone to "Git Gud" in this forums again, lmao.

100% agree, most offerings are useless, the only good ones are maps/cakes/puddings/bps/wards the rest are pretty much useless.

25% extra, that is 2000 out of 8000 assuming you are using an envelope that is extra 8000k offering is 4000, so you have to get a perfect game every time you use them to benefit, which most of the time you just don't.

Is it worth it? Not really, are the devs doing something about them? Who knows but I doubt it.

I kinda wish they woud do something similar to the old Bloodweb rework and basically change how those offerings work.

Retire the old offerings that gives you more on a specific category, and make it more generalized.

Like offerings for 25%/50%/75%/100% on all categories.

We can even tie it to the rarities, with Common/Uncommon/Rare/Very Rare. It would make getting more bloodpoints more consistent, even if it means Survivor Puddings and Escape Cakes are rarer by default with it being Very Rare instead.

    There are a few things:

    • Ring addon is absolute op because it combined with 5sec of phasing. Make her traveling distance far increased. My double speed come with half the phasing time. The more concern is increasing phase add-on, but it can be reduce the time.
    • Because of phasing time is short, Spirit is forced to make the best decision, there is no time for her to have a thinking of "should I move on the left or right.
    • Is the speed actually relatives with lung range? Does her phasing lung range is much longer than 115 speed Killers?

The main point is the survivor's window time to react when Spirit starts to phase. 1.5sec is too short to even do anything. It has to be increased.

Cant tell if it works without a test.

Pretty sure it is related to speed, yeah. At least the momentum of it.

The reason her lunge add-ons work is because they allow you to stay in that speed for a split second before stopping it's momentum.

  • @Canas said:

He desperately needs the following changes to become somewhat viable:

    • Bouncy blades as basekit (he's called the TRICKSTER after all, where are the tricks?)
    • Remove laceration decay, force survivors to pull out the knives via mending instead
    • Allow Trickster to store his Main Event indefinitely (!)

Simply lowering the number of needed knifehits still won't make him playable if survivors keep hugging walls and waste his time on strong loops. He already excels at downing people in deadzones, this upcoming change merely cements that but it won't address his glaring weaknesses whatsoever.

The point of a rework should be to fix the most egregious issues, not to highlight them even more.

Trickshots as Trickster is definitely the most fun aspect of him.

Sending yourself to The Game and just swinging your knives around is so much fun.

I get that perk tiers made sense when the roster was smaller, but yeah, joining recently, the grind has been a bit overwhelming. Luckily I am rather basic, I do not mind the same perks on the killers and I only play a small rotation as I am mostly interested in licensed killers only. But even with me being the type of player affected the least by this, I can see how intense this grind is.

Perk Tiers when the roster was mostly the original four alongside Myers and Huntress makes sense. But now it's just really ridiculous.

I'm sure you've heard horror stories of people not getting the perks they wanted until Level 50. And even then, that's just Tier 1 of that perk. They're going to need to continue investing to have a chance of getting that perk to Tier 3.

Please can you tell me where did you heard that it will be 6 knives at base? I cannot believe they gonna do it because its literally CRAZY, Trickster is weak, but when she uses the addon to reduce required knives to 7 instead of 8... BOY thats broken AF, i cant even imagine 6 or 5 (with addon)!

    Read the Developer Update.

They're chaning the addon that reduces the amount of laceration needed.

  • I feel like this question should be directed to Survivor points in general.

You kinda get ######### over doing your objectives quickly because you can't get Altruism points. Or you can't get Boldness if you don't have a chaser playstyle. Or you can't get Survival if you don't bring a medkit or a perk like Self-Care. Or you can't get Objective points if you're constantly in chase with the Killer.

  • You do it because you play him for fun.

    That's it.

I like Huntress, but sometimes I don't feel like getting sniper shots from across the map. Sometimes I just want to completely fill a survivor with blades to fill my sadistic desire 😈

  • Here's how you buff Nemesis without breaking him:

Only give speedboosts when using your power if they're injured by it.

That way you'll have a faster cooldown attack if you can time it right with your power, but you aren't penalized for using it when infecting them first.

  • I'm all for changes, but I would rather they not completely cream her. Because some people do play her for fun, not just for wins and pubstomping.

If we're given a telltale that she is phasing, like a global audio cue then that kinda ruins the purpose of her power. You migh have suggestions that says otherwise, but we know what BHVR is like.

I mean ######### hell, they nerfed Pallet Freddy when everyone agreed Pallet Freddy is more balanced and fair compared to Snares Freddy.

  • Mainly because I enjoy just constantly putting people in deep wound, lol.

I don't play them as much as I used to back before I took a break, but I just enjoyed constantly injuring people to mend over and over. Even if I wasn't hooking them.

There's something fun and satisfying about getting 4 hits and then hitting a fully mended survivor immediately after.

  • @dezzmont said:

While this is a buff to Trickster, it doesn't address why he isn't fun to play or play against.

People may have been asking for a buff, because the trickster has super obvious problems. But in reality the Trickster's issue was the gameplay loop of the killer sucks and isn't fun and is super at odds with itself.

This may have buffed him, but it makes the problem worse. Its far more important for a killer to have a fun gameplay loop that lets you feel good about using their power than to have a strong power. Good examples of this are Trapper and Pig: Their powers are pretty weak but they have a lot of die-hard loyalists because their abilities are extremely fun and make a certain 'internal' sense mechanically and mastering these powers offers you a lot of very visible reward that lets you try to control the game even if they aren't up there with Spirit or Nurse.

What trickster really needed was to make tossing knives less of a commitment and less clunky, and for them to be a 'longer term' effect rather than a 'I am gunna down you for vaulting' effect. The first is the actually unique thing about the power (it can build up and lets you build up rewards over time without it being all or nothing if you miss) while the second just makes it a worse version of huntress. This doubled down on the 'down at vaults' effect while almost making the long term effect of being hit with a knife worse, so the killer is now even more nonsensical and not interesting, despite being stronger.

So it was a bad change. People asked for a buff, sure, and they got it, but it was a bad buff that didn't actually solve the problems people cared about. To paraphrase Mark Rosewater: People are good at spotting problems, but bad at identifying solutions (or, in my opinion, ROOT causes). Case in point: People think they don't like Trickster because he is weak (And he is) but in reality he is just... unrewarding and actively frustrating.

Pray tell, how would you fix a ranged Killer who can guarantee to down you if he can zone you enough?

It's the same thing with Deathslinger, Huntress, even ######### Demo.

If they can get you into a situation where they are guaranteed to hit you, they will hit you. DBD is about managing your resources as a Survivor, that includes hook states. Killers like Deathslinger and Trickster have basically zero map pressure. Their entire power is reliant on them getting downs quickly.

Yes, it can sometimes feel demoralizing and powerless. But that's just how it is when you play Survivor, especially in Solo Queue. You just have to hope your teammates aren't stupid enough to hide and not do gens while you go for a chase with the Killer.

It's obvious they aren't going to change the Trickster's design. So the only way to actually make him viable is to make him more oppressive midchase.

And I for one, am okay with that. I wouldn't mind seeing him do ricochets as a basekit power too since I would love to see him actually get some more usage out of his knives around tall walls.

  • @Northener1907 said:

Oh, guess I didn't clarify. I meant older perks like Premonition, Sole Survivor, Monstrous Shrine etc old perks that need some kind of change

    Those perks are rarely touched.

As much as I like to see them changed/reworked, they would basically need to make an entirely new perk to make it useful. And I doubt BHVR would have the time for that considering the shitshow that is the 5th anniversary update right now.

  • Ah, right.

Even after all this time, the forums never changes. It's just never happy.

Trickster doesn't have to be insanely strong to be buffed. But this will definitely make him more viable to play for some people. Especially since he not can both keep his Main Event for longer, and his add-ons are now able to do ######### like replenish his knives the moment main event ends.

I like Trickster, I find him to be rather fun even if his power was dogshit. But now I don't necessarily need to worry about not getting that final hit in on a survivor who I lacerated but they managed to get away just in time.

As it stands their work schedule is gonna keep screwing them in the long run. Trading quantity for quality never leads to anything good.

And we have had declining quality in updates for a long while now.

I would pay doublle for a DLC that is released in 9 months rather than 3, to be honest.

Because it's more likely to be more polished than a DLC that is released in crunchtime in 3 months alongside mid chapter updates.

Why i have to waste my chance againts her? She is unfairly strong. I can take million Nurses, Blights but i do not wanna face with one Spirit. Because boring and we all know if they know killer well, you have 0 chance. So i will just try, if she is good. Dc will work.

Because you don't have to always win every single game?

Like I said, I don't like facing her because her prediction crap is bullshit. But honestly just play the game. Sometimes you win, sometimes you don't. If BHVR is nerfing Spirit, they'd have to make sure it's done without compromising the people who do play her for fun.

  • @Rivyn said:

This comes down to BHVR's biggest problem.

Their extremely slow work pace. When it takes a game studio months, in most cases years, to fix issues that are plaguing the game, you have a serious problem. Unfortunately, the DbD doesn't have competition, so the devs have no need to actually push out quality work.

    Slow work pace?

Honey, I think you have it backwards.

BHVR is working way too hard and way too quickly. They don't have time to do ######### like bugs in the game because they keep pumping out DLCs every 3 months. They're probably working on a new killer right this second during the actual anniversary event and the bugs.

They need to calm down and change their workflow so they have time to dedicate to non-content related issues. Like bugs and balance changes.

  • @Northener1907 said:

I hate this but if they do not wanna plan nerf Spirit, i will not face with her anymore. When i saw Spirit, dc will work.

I don't like facing her as much as the next guy, but DCing over a Killer?

Just die and move on, or try your best to play the ######### game. No need to dedicate so much emotion and energy into a single killer.
