Stop disabling anti tunnel/anti camp features in endgame, jesus christ
Plenty of downvotes but hardly any counterargument because I'm right :)
But dude, you have no argument on WHY they should stop disabling them at the end. Our argument is the fact that it'd make it even harder for killers to get a kill at the end if they've already had a terrible game. What is the killer supposed to do during End Game if they got no kills? Just give up and walk away and let the rest of the survivors simply free the hooked person and leave because the anti-camp feature will free them anyway? They need at least a chance to get a kill, and disabling the features gives them a slightly better one.

Let me clarify, the random perk is itself a perk. Equipping it allows for a single perk slot to be made random but that perk you end up with is stronger. Make it universal and boom.
Yeah, sorry, I don't know how I missed that in your previous comment. 😅 Anyway, that sounds good. My idea here is that it is practically a blocker you can put on however many slots you want, so it essentially is Chaos Shuffle. They can do that: Make Chaos Shuffle part of the main game with this perk randomizer, and/or maybe your idea.

More points = try to win harder. Its the same reason you get gunned down everytime you try to bring a party streamer to be nice for everyone. And in this case its "well my random build isnt great or they all dont have antislug/tunnel perks so let loose." Might even be a good example of what would happen if they made casual/competitive modes, the tryhards would swarm the casual mode for easy wins.
That's how it is in casual events like the recent Bone Chill. Even though it was about just having fun by chucking snowballs and sneaking around in snowmen, so many tryhards just came in for easy wins and the extra 100% bloodpoints, never touching a single snowball.

That's exactly what I mean. Random perk is restricted to a single perk slot but that perk is stronger than its normal counterpart.
Hmm, could be a nice idea! But that should only work for, like, one or two slots. Otherwise, it might abuse the whole idea of Chaos Shuffle.

@UndeddJester said:
Like the idea, but Question:
Are you proposing your random perk be a perk/level you've unlocked on this character? Or a tier 3 from the entire perk pool?
I would assume the former, but wanted to be clear 😁
I'd like it as just a no-level perk that is at the start of everyone's perk pool, no need to unlock it. You just click on the symbol and voila, you have the random perk symbol in whatever perk slot you were controlling.
-
I've seen what feels like more people than normal that do the strategy where they slug the third survivor to prevent a hatch and then search for the fourth, considerably decreasing any chance at survival. Though not a SUPER tryhard-y strategy, it definitely shows an increase in the wish for a 4K, as it literally lengthens the game just to make sure they get every kill.

Hear me out, single perk slot is a random perk but said perk has absolutely cranked out values, which can be seen once you hover over it in the pause screen.
Sorry, reexplain that a little clearer. You mean, you get a random perk, but whatever perk you get is stronger than normal?

I didn’t see that. But regardless the person I responded to made an “us vs. them” comment before Buggy did.
I see your point, but I have talked to them before and there are indeed not one that tries to do that. The true "Us. vs. Them" type people are ones that get extremely serious on their side, like the quote I sent you, who acted like I… you'd know if you did read it.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3871825#Comment_3871825
At the beginning, some really got aggressive actually. Like this one:
"Okay? And NOED or camping during end game can change a killers chance at no hooks to multiple hooks/kills? Do you want every survivor perk to be nerfed into the ground? Like adrenaline literally gives you 3 perks for the entirety of the game and only activates if you make it to the end game and is useless if you're fully healed at end game.. the "speed boost" doesnt even matter since most of the time you arent near the survivor when it activates."
This was the first person flip it to the "Us vs. Them" thing, but they deleted the comment, it appears.

Five minutes, buggybug.
Can you stop bringing needless us vs. them about how your side has it OMG sooooo hard😟into discussions that are completelt measured and polite and have nothing to do with the issues Survivors face… for five measly minutes?
The answer to seeing Killers complain, buggy, is not to immediately derail the conversation and make it about your side, but to empathize with the possible ways the game could be difficult for the Killer side, ideally because you play Killer and know how crappy being hit by a perk you didn't expect feels, but even more ideally because basic human empathy for others makes the world go around. Like it or not, Killer players exist and sometimes the game feels bad for them, and despite what you may want, they also have the right to vent and have discussions about it. Survivor related issues existing has never changed that nor ever will.
My guy… We know they exist. We all know by now. Bringing it up in discussions that it isn't being discussed in does not make your already valid concerns more valid, it actually cheapens them and makes Survivors look like a bunch of whiny crybabies instead - which we all know isn't true.
We all know Survivor Mains have it hard too, and that there's BS they deal with too… because there are posters that apparently make "I'm an oppressed Survivor Main, boo hoo" their entire persona on this forum, the same way there are Killer Mains here making "I'm an oppressed Killer Main, boo hoo" their entire persona. And it's annoying either way. People are over it.
No wonder nobody takes people seriously around here when so many of us post like this!
Shame on you for derailing the thread, you are way too old for this behavior. Either add to the discussion or post your complaint elsewhere in a thread about Survivor complaints. It's not all about you and your side, bro.
You're better than this. BE better than this.
Exactly. If a survivor mentioned how frustrating something like Deadlock can be, I entirely understand that. Though I honestly use it a lot and consider it a more balanced slowdown (I use it in place of ones like Pop and Pain Resonance), I have faced it, and it is indeed an annoying slowdown perk.

It's end game perk. Survivor is literally playing 3 perks until end game and there is risk they can't even get value from it. So i doubt this perk will get another nerf.
It can be annoying when you have bad match and the injured survivor you are chasing gets full health. But that's not good reason to nerf this perk.
A bit of a delayed response from me, but again, I said I'm just venting a bit. Yeah, it probably shouldn't get another nerf, but sometimes you just want to let it out when one perk ruins your entire chance at any kills all because you took the time to balance the hooks.

-They DC much earlier and the game only recognized after a long time (This is true, I was playing with a friend and they lost internet connection, the bot took over about 2 minutes later)
Some really are too greedy to win so that they can't lose, though. I've seen have some extreme tryhards over the years. With the delayed bot thing, do you mean they just stand there for 2 minutes? The playstyles between a bot and an average player are noticeably different if you've faced a lot of both, so it should be fairly visible if someone has turned into a bot despite it not saying it on the side.
For me, usually only a few seconds before it switches when there an actual crash and you can tell if it's during a chase because they just stop moving with their legs continuing to run or something. Hadn't seen that in a while, though.

Yes, and? You asked why and I explained why some do from my experience.
Yours isn't that of everyone else, and just because you go "he wasted his time" doesn't mean the thousands if not millions of other players have the same mindset in such a moment. Especially not if something like that happens consecutively.
So again, YOU asked why, and I gave you one of the answers.
Woah, I was just pointing out a moment that I didn't DC and how to think of it a bit more positively! No need to get serious!

Okay then I really don't understand how it ruined your game. I think you would have to explain more because 8 hooks sounds like a pretty successful match, even if you didn't get a kill.
As in, if I got that one person I was chasing, it'd let me quickly go stop the others. But, because they healed, I had to turn around for another nearby injured person (which I couldn't end up finding) while it gave the person that healed the ability to get the exit gate, helping everyone overall. If that person didn't have Adrenaline, I could've soon downed them and hooked them quickly, letting me get to the other people before they reached the gate.

Fair. It does feels pretty when it gets you... but it is fair.
A Story
when you have a game going to the wire, you have 1 player dead, 3 players injured, you down one player, can't hook cause he's under pallet and his teammate is nearby... you try to down him... 3k imminent... potential 4k if you can do it fast...
Last gen pops and all 3 gain a health state. Slugged player is now sprinting off into the map, you're out of position on them, they are your only viable target, so you have to go for them... the best you can now do is a 2k... and even that you're gonna be fighting for over a hook camp that is still the survivor to lose... you've probably only got a 1k... which is whatvhappened in my game... I couldn't believe I had a 3-4k become basically unwinnable in an instant xD
Doesn't happen often... but when it does... man... that feels harsh... Adrenaline is in a good spot though. In the above scenario the survivors played well and used the benefits of Adrenaline optimally. The fact they could all afford to stay injured to fight for the final gen is one of its main strengths.
While frustrating, this scenario is entirely fair...
An Alternate Universe
What isn't fair is the exact same scenario where I actually caught the second survivor and then hooked both of them. The last gen pops and the 3rd gets their health state.
I need to guard 2 hooks or find the last survivor... I pick wrong and they manage to slip by me unnoticed and I'm late to interrupt the unhook. They get 1 unhook... both are now full HP, even with me there after them, they unhook, all 3 full HP. I take an m1 and its just not enough... its simply not possible to win this scenario unless they make a catastrophic mistake.
Survivors didn't play well in this scenario, they both got caught, and yet I still lose a 3-4k purely from a perk.
The nerfs were justified to my mind for Adrenaline. If we get caught by it now, it's simply survivors out playing us... but it feels awful when it happens 😅
Before, that was horrid. If you were on a hook during the last pop, you just come off fully healthy. Gosh, I'm glad that was removed.

I mean, that's kinda the entire point of the perk. It's meant to give a heal in endgame as a reward for finishing the generators. Sometimes that happens mid-chase and it can destroy the killer's pressure, sometimes it triggers on a healthy survivor far away from the killer and the perk basically doesn't do anything, that's just how it is. It's very high risk high reward.
It certainly doesn't need any more nerfs, it already got the changes it needed last spring.
Yeah, but as I said, I'm just venting a little. As you know, the perk can get extremely annoying, so I'm just letting it out a bit.

Yeah, it is a bit rampant in the community to respond this way. (I’ve been guilty myself) It can be difficult not to compare things in a game designed with counters for both “sides” I guess.
Honestly I sometimes have some trouble with identifying the correct way to answer/discuss things at times. Someone brings up “X” and they don’t like it but “X” needs to exist because of “Y” so then you’re either gonna start to bring up “Y” which could upset people because it wasn’t what they talked about but could be important to consider as it’s the bigger picture, or you could just only agree/disagree with the statement about “X” and not bring up anything about “Y” which does stay on topic and potentially prevents arguments but then you run the risk of the post being nothing but an echo chamber that provides no solutions.
Do you have any advice on how to differentiate between those two options and when it’s appropriate to use them? (I know theres a possibility you may not exactly want to engage In a discussion and simply wanted to make a comment on this post so if you this annoys you or you have no interest, I apologize and I will not bother you)No worries. I actually play a lot on both sides, so I know the frustration for a lot of perks and playstyles.
The only way to get people to understand it all is to get them to play both sides, it seems. I don't really know if there is any specific way to bring up something, because there are always those tryhard mains that hate each response against their side.

Any one perk can "ruin" someone's match. But if you're argument is about how you had no other potential kills/hooks during the game, then it probably had more to do with your tactics. Adrenaline is designed as a last chance life saving at end game perk. That's the whole purpose.

Friend we are kindred spirits friend. :) I just think the game should be overall made much more open to being about getting as many points as possible, and reward that. Not just winning… and also it needs some cleanup. The game is nearly a decade old, it's time.
There is much cleanup to do, but they are sadly going to have to do it subtly. Otherwise, too many players will backlash or leave the game in the thought that the other side is now too strong. :(

I definitely think it's a cycle of abuse here, one person suffers if they don't do this, so they do it next round, then those people suffer, then those people do it next round, so on and so on. Perhaps forcibly start all Survs together or have gens locked down until Survs go unlock them? Or maybe make it so gens take a lot more charges at the start, but a lot less charges towards the end, down to 80. That would amp up the round's tension. At the least they need to look at balancing Survivor gen things being so stackable, I actually think maybe Killer gen stuff would be in an OK spot if they did.
For me it is always helpful to keep people wounded if possible yes, but not to split attention too much. Then again, I tend to see Surv chase Surv, it's not meant to be a tunnel, I just want to keep active with someone and sometimes it happens to be the person I found and lost earlier, then found again.
Honestly the biggest thing could simply be forcing gens to have a "cooldown" on repairs or something. Then give Survs something else to do, repair gens in stages maybe and have to add gas, IDK. SOMETHING new.Honestly, I don't know what they should do right now. What makes things still so hard right now is actually because of how big the game is. If they go a bit too far in one direction, he sparks tons of backlash, and they've learned that a lot over the years. That's like why there are still so many balancing issues. With how separated killer mains and survivor mains are, if the Devs give a fairly strong buff or nerf on either side, it'd make that side extremely angry.

No no, apparently they are just turning off their console for the day and they just cannot wait the few seconds for the death animation to end as that few seconds is just so important (according to the replies above lmao).
Yeah it is clearly to tell the killer they are unhappy but it's completely self defeating and every life streaming killer I see who has this happen is confused rather than seeing it as somehow negatively affecting them
A different version of this is where when some survivors bring powerful map offerings or items, but then when you are still able to injure them fairly quickly or knock the item out of their hand, they will sometimes just kill themselves knowing they can't win against you. It's just embarrassing to them as well as annoying to the killer.
Whenever I see a group with, like, 3 med-kits or toolboxes, I often bring Franklin's, having seen so many Syringes and BNPs nowadays. But when they don't kill themselves or DC because of losing it, their game often collapses because they focus on winning through power, not skill. Med-kits are still way stronger than many want to believe, and the Syringe is still absurd, IMO.
THAT is one of my biggest issues: Too many try to win through sheer power, not by skill or even just trying to have fun. They just want to WIN.

I certainly agree with all of this. I think they have done well to address only the most toxic forms of problem playstyles while also allowing tactical use mostly; the last things to look at are slugging and maybe the overuse and stacking of gen items. I guarantee a lot of calm would come if the start of a round didn't feel so genrushy from the Killer perspective, or liable to tunnel and slug from the Survivor perspective. Tactics like slugs and camping and genrush really should only be more possible towards the end of a round, not at the start, because that puts too much pressure on the other side and feels bad to play against. It breeds discontent and bad feelings, increases resentment, and drives a wedge in the community.
And it might be like a cycle: Doing that causes anger which make more do it, and so those more that do it cause more anger, and so on.
And yeah, they have to somehow calm down the genrushy and tunneling beginnings. If the survivors are all separate at start, it actually gives them a huge advantage if they are decent at sustaining chases.Because of the strength of separation, I've learned that the strongest way to start a game for me is to actually try to injure many in quick succession if they are luckily fairly close together at the beginning. This urges them to stay together to heal rather than strategically separate as you have more time to chase and down one before the genrushing starts.
But then, that also goes into the topic of slugging dealing with injuring a bunch rather than hooking anyone. With strong oppression, it is extremely hard for survivors to prevent 4k slugging when facing a powerful killer, and so they have to find some way without over-tuning survivor base kit powers.

During the Bone Chill event, I had a particular match against a Nurse. The Nurse burned a Cobbler and she played nice. Not like friendly, but she didn't tunnel, she played more than fair and even wasted time throwing snowballs with me, she let us survivors earn points. She waited to the end to kill anyone. Killed two of us, then the other two were in an exit gate. One survivor left. The other (injured) stayed in the exit gate to teabag like their butt was on fire. The Nurse popped in and hit them so they didn't fall out. The survivor DC'd the moment the mori animation started.
Totally fair match. The killer shared their BP offering with us. The survivor threw away those Bloodpoints. Everything about that survivor's mindset baffles me.
Like I indirectly said, some are too focused on winning and being the controlling people in the round that they just can't stand losing…. 😑 That's how it is with those try-hard tunnelers, too.
And yeah, that's happened to me, too. I play the game entirely fair and fun and then going to the exit gates I see those teabaggers. That's why, whenever I'm not chasing someone during Endgame, I just never go to the gates.

Can confirm @notyarbllewe it's very possible for Survs to still win, I do it just fine when I play Survivor as long as the teamwork is on point. The issue is the art of being a SoloQ Survivor has been lost, I don't meet many good ones and when I do find one I usually pitch a friend request. It's very hard to SoloQ (Killer is always solo and a solo Surv is weaker than any Killer). But if your skill is about equal to everyone else in the round, it should be a pretty even 60/40 balance. Not impossible to win as Surv but tough, and a bit easier for Killer but not a guarantee.
I think tunnelling and camping are basically addressed by now. The real issue is toxic slugging.
Survivors as a whole are still very strong, it's just the solos themselves that are the weakest. If you saw my discussion after this one, I think we need more teamwork perks over just single person strengthening ones like Finesse; it'd make the game a lot more interactive. As solo, I just about always bring Kindred as it connects the team a lot better, and there are similar perks like Aftercare.
And yeah, they really got to address the slugging now. If you did their recent survey, BHVR did ask about how annoyed you get based on people getting slugged, most specifically the number of people.

That also isn't true. Many, many, many Killer buffs this year have also been QoL buffs or tweaks, teeny tiny buffs. Only Killers that REALLY needed an update, like Freddy and Myers, have been buffed to any major degree everyone else has been QoL, minor adjustments, or some basekitting of necessary addons to help improve how the character plays. And as I previously stated, many Killers (Dracula, Chucky, Knight, Wesker, Onryo, Skull Merchant) have all been nerfed or tweaked down for being too strong.
Please don't make this situation us vs. them, both Survivors and Killers get buffs and nerfs in equal measure. The issue is 100% not that Killers all get buffs and Survivors only ever get nerfs. In fact there's still a few Killers that could use some serious updates, QoL, and yes… actual buffs.
I agree. I do not try to do the Killers vs. Survivors things. I only point it out when survivors go complaining that all killers are too strong, or vice versa. 😑 I'm a bit of a hypocrite now, though, but I will say that survivors can still win if they play it right against tunneling killers if skill is equal. Too many survivors complain about it, while the devs are doing whatever they can to stop it. However, I do entirely go against tunneling and camping.

Are you joking? DbD is NOT killer-sided; if you are saying this because of the tunneling, it is because it is not played right. If you are all on par with the killer's skill, survivors can surpass the killer against even dumb tunneling strategies, if they do it right.

You say that, But yet that’s what map offerings are used for trashy swf survivor sided maps like them erie and badham.
Thats why they should be removed all together,
Give variety with a map randomiser that works and the fear factor back.
And now they're making it so you will never go to the same realm twice in a row, which is nice. Map offerings allow people, especially survivors, to just force you to the best realm for them, over and over.

They should just be removed outright. Regardless of whether it's guaranteed or not, being able to choose a map in any capacity is too big of an advantage and neither side should be able to do it. It feels terrible to load into a match knowing you are at a severe disadvantage before the game even started because your opponent was able to deliberately choose a map that either generally favors their side or favors a specific build they were able to plan out accordingly.
Maps should be chosen randomly 100% of the time.
I agree, they should just be removed on both sides, though it is more of a problem on the survivors' side. Survivors force you to maps like Badhman way too often, and it just completely removes the excitement of starting a match, knowing that they know the strength of where they're bringing you. And whenever you actually do play well against them despite the horrid map, they sometimes just give up and kill themselves or something because they know they can't win.
-
As people have said, they should get entirely removed from the game. They get abused just way too much, and it's annoying having to waste a slot with the Sacrificial Ward instead of bringing something like Blood Party Streamers.

first let's do something about the ping on the killer side, because hits two or three meters from the window are what's really annoying
Not entirely the killers' fault. If survivors have bad ping, they get their punishment. Besides, it can actually go in the survivors' side too, at times.

I have an idea. Let's nerf survivor speed so we run like grandmas and every match is a 4k. Maybe then these baby killers will be happy.
Dude, you REALLY had to post that? Survivors are still extremely strong if they play right against tunnelers and campers, and no, I don't want that to happen.
-
Dude, survivors have gotten quite a lot of buffs and killers many nerfs in recent years: Basekit BT and speed; 10 extra hook seconds, stronger HUD; limited damaging.
Yes, I want perks like Pain Res to be removed, but still, survivors have to appreciate what they've gotten for a bit. Survivors use to have been absurdly overpowered years ago, and they still are strong if they play right against tunnelers and campers, but the overall weakening is probably what makes them frustrated, despite all the other buffs. -

I mean if they fixed fast vaults and remove medium vaults in the first place, they wouldnt have to bring a niche perk like finesse .
Like why is ok for killers to have op perk combos but even niche situational one on survivor is qq. Seriously whats next nerf inner strength?
If you hate lithe run some of the anti exhaustion perks. Killers already has the best base perk in the game vpn abusing and garbage internet to get undeserved hits.
Dude, the survivors are still quite strong at the moment. And VPN honestly makes the game frustrating and annoying, not better. Only tryhards do that, if at all. I don't care about getting 4ks (I never tunnel or camp), I just want the game to be a little more fun because too many go too far on their playstyles, and some perks like Finesse can get extremely annoying at times.

But you can't use an Exhaustion Perk after using another one, and to my knowledge the timings don't stack. If they are stacking in a way that creates a Finesse into a Lithe, that's likely not intentional and could even be a glitch with these two perks together or Exhaustion not working.
Speaking as someone who plays several M1s, and is learning a few of the weaker ones to round myself out (former M2 Main, I got bored of my chases being less exciting on M2s and switched more to M1s), I don't have that much issue catching people with chase perks even as low mobile M1s, as long as I also run a chase perk or I focus on my fundamentals. Admittedly, I could use more mindgaming practice as I am not used to it, but even as someone like Ghostface who I am new to, I have little issue. Finesse doesn't help much when you herd someone into a Trapper trap at the right vault. And I don't have trouble even with Wraith if I just use my power correctly. At best, Finesse adds maybe a few seconds, not much else, and at worst it encourages Survivors to overuse vaults and block them.
Place a Trapper trap, they just run to the next loop if they see you place one down. And yeah, if you heard them into one that they don't know, the perk doesn't matter, but none do in that circumstance. Because you can cut off the perk in certain circumstances, it's not like Finesse is weak overall. It can really be painful if used in the right ways.

There needs to be less perks that just try to extend chase and instead work with the entire team, like Aftercare. Just strengthening single survivors makes being an M1 harder while also boring the other survivors as they just sit on the gens.

I have enough of what I saw in this post, well, keep defending the killers, because you killer mains hate losing like there is no tomorrow
Dude, so many survivors keep doing the go-next thing because they hate losing. Whenever I get a strong start, many just kill themselves because they know they have no way to win. It's different for killers in the fact that when a killer DCs, it allows everyone to go to the next round, while when a survivor just kills themselves, it hurts the entire game.

Finesse needs to br an Exhaustion perk. This perk just exists to ruin m1 killers.
Seriously, play m1 against 4 finesse on an open level/swf and you'll spend the entire game getting nothing.
Survivors need more good perks, but I don't like this one
I agree. It hurts more than it helps, in the fact that it hurts M1s while doing nothing against stronger killers.

Every chase perks are op against m1 killers, they are m1 killers, they already will struggle to catch a good survivor even without finesse, finesse has the potential to be the most op perk in the game, but it only works healthy, which is the reason the perk is balanced
True about M1s sucking against many perks, and that supports my point: It makes M1 killers even harder to be. They got to make more perks like Aftercare (which reveals each other auras after healing/saving someone or you getting saved/healed), which connect people together more instead of just making single people stronger.
