  • Can't wait for the comments to really kick off

  • I still to this day run bloodhound on my wraith and Myers it helps out alot on dark maps and cold wind where the survivor can just dive into a corner or hide between the corn rows

Umm...Just wriggle a bit without actually trying to get off the hook? It's the 'The Killer is camping' dance.

Survivors invented it 1 week into the game. We don't need some sound clip Survivors can spam annoyingly.

Yea this means nothing I started doing this when I learned about it but sadly people still come and attempt the save

So I just leaned from the Reddit forum that BBQ isn’t all that good. “Meh” seems to be the consensus. I feel so stupid. Apparently everyone only runs it for the BP.

I always wondered why every survivor I play with runs both prove thyself and we’re gonna live forever. Oh wait, they don’t.

Running the most popular information perk in the game and saying it’s for BP is like saying you read playboy for the articles. ######### off liars. ######### is OP.

I hands down don't care about the BP I use it to see those pesky survivors I'm just more willing to admit I have zero map awareness despite playing survivor more and the odd killer matches

Just got a firecracker in the bloodweb, the glided stampede event was a few months ago. Is this a glitch?

Probably left over from the event of you haven't used that characters bloodweb in awhile it happens my Claudette still had blight serum in hers and my Feng has 4th anniversary cakes and med kits it's so much fun to go back and see all the uncollected event items just waiting to be collected

I've been finding a lot of key users lately, and Franklin's has been my go-to, but I hate that perk and want some alternatives, and figured that shortcuts from their side can be met with shortcuts from this side. So is it still considered "toxic" to tunnel a survivor who brings a key? Especially now that I don't have to worry about DS, it kind of seems like tunneling is the proportionate response to key escapes.

Why tunnel when you could just slap on a mori they want to end the game sooner I say fine but I won't just let you gen rush me into oblivion and escape using hatch

Today i played some solo survivor matches. And i love use flashlight. I saved 3 times my teammates with flashlight. For that i get facecamp. I have not problem with that because killer wanted out me possibly.

Anyway my 3 teammates escaped and i wrote gg wp killer. He called me toxic kid. And i made him day bad. I said "i am sorry but i was just playing game. I hope you will get better games." ı do not know how using flashlight is toxic. Can anyone explain?

Some people can't get past that not everything is toxic they clearly don't know the difference between toxic and general gameplay

  • You can't be tunneledand camped if you aren't playing the game either but I think my way is more proven to work 100% of the time

  • Also keeps people guessing am I a Dwight main or am I a Meg main or maybe I main Laurie they just don't know. It helps deter character assumption like "ugh you're a Meh head" or "you're a Dwight you must hide in a locker all game"

  • Catchy name for a Meg Main. It's all about what rolls off the tongue tbh also why are you the only one questioning this lol

  • Comms aren't cheating tho, frustrating yes but cheating it is not.

The Mobile team has done a lot of awesome things with their version of the game. Personally the controls are too hard for me to comfortably work with, but the features that are there is something that desperately needs to be in the main game.

Yea the controls aren't great but it's the small things like this and the practice mode that really show how they care about the game and it's player base

I play this game to have a good time. If the other players indicate they're screamingly angry at me, or more interested in mocking me than playing the game with me, I'm no longer having fun. I don't play games to have to toughen up to deal with other people; I play games to have fun with other people.

I don't know - becoming jaded and flippant in response to other people's nastiness isn't really a solution to the problem of people being nasty. It's more of a contributor. People could use more empathy, and not the Claudette kind.

Look I'm not here to make friends I'm here to play the game if you can't have fun I won't let that stop me if you message me yelling about something that I did in game I'll just move on and play my next match it's not nice getting a nasty message but it's one match people act like it happens way too often I get a bad message like 1 in every 5 games.

Not everyone is in the frame of mind to handle those things.

Some people want to play the game to escape those very things and having reminders of how ######### the world is shoved in their faces isn't good for them.

We all have issues and sometimes online gaming makes it worse that's why I take regular breaks and play less intense games. You can look at me and think I'm being mean or evil but at the end of the day it is just a game.

This isn't even agree to disagree.

I'm just flabbergasted that you could say that, tbh.

So what it's a game I have been told I'm terrible at this game made this nicer than the actual message was I was told to hang myself because I left a Kate on hook to finish a gen while she struggled I just asked her if she feels better and moved on, I feel for the people that get offended by it I do but eventually you get a thick skin and laugh because of how pathetic they are about a game

Oh good, I guess slurs are fine and if I complain I'm a child.

Telling people in a not nice way to to commit die is also fine, and if I complain I'm a child.

    What a joke.

Hey not my fault you choose to pay attention to negativity all I'm saying is you're gonna get some rage induced sad act telling you to die because his feelings got hurt over a flashlight save. Happens in all PvP games people just need to move on

  • Don't see why their needs to be a filter the game has an age rating for a reason not the intended audiences fault parents ignore age ratings same as the forum I believe if the age rating is intended for adults then swearing and profanity should be allowed and anyone who complains should be removed for lying about their age.

  • Depends on if they're sworn to tell the truth if so I would ask what side do you really favour. But of not then I guess my biggest one is can we get shirtless Myers now? And maybe also a shirtless Steve?

  • That's not what I meant when I told that wraith to pitch a tent next time!

  • Still rank 4 but my friend went tumbling down to 20 I was so confused

I'm a Survivor main, I play Killer super casual and only really to complete Rift challenges.

I could never really invest the same amount of time into Killer to Pip up and play at Red ranks, it's just not that fun to me and, I don't really care about "winning".

I also don't really care about escaping as Survivor. I like to make good plays, saves, breakouts, sabotage, ect. I won't leave a teammate behind at collapse, I'd rather die on the hook.

So what is driving the "winning" mentality? Even if you can slug down a 4K with very little Chase and only four hooks, you deny yourself the BP's and Pips and you deny the Survivors BP's and Pips.

I'd rather stay in the game, play the game as opposed to slugging and ending the game or, running out the gate when I could go try to save my friend.

Escaping and 4K's aren't "winning" to me, the Meta mentality on both sides drives the game to a toxic place where, people don't even come to play, they just want to dunk on someone and then tell you GG.

While it's true their are other measures of victory killers need more objectives at the moment kills is the only real win for killer while survivors could go in and set their own objectives like stun killer or learn to loop a certain area what can killers actually do other than attempt kills

sorry, stealing this thread now to talk about good games

just had a really good match as plague with 2 really good, competent survivors, 1 baby newbie survivor and 1 claudette who hid the whole match and waited for everyone to die so she could get hatch.

i killed 1 of the competent ones... for fun, tbh, i downed and carried the newbie to the hook and then put her down under it instead of killing her, and i let the other competent one go for fun.

because my sights were set on the claudette.

the claudette, quite predictably, was nowhere to be found at all. she had mastered the art of just vanishing into the fog and she was expecting me to be mindless, killing everyone i came across. she'd even made a map offering and had a plan of where she wanted to hide, which i found her in at one point with BBQ. crouching around in front of lockers to stop herself getting idle crows, and then creeping in as soon as my TR approached.

i knew she had to die.

i purposefully "botched" the meg and cheryl's escape and waited for spies from the shadows to inform me of where the claudette was going to be. they let me know, i found her, and i downed her. not only did i down her, i downed her scant inches from the hatch, which she was running to get - a hatch she'd definitely scouted out in advance. a hatch i got to snap shut on her nose before taking her to the hook where she deserves to be after trying to let her teammates die for her own selfish ends.

i'm very happy with what i did and it's one reason why i like this game.

Ha this reminds me of a match I had the other day against a really toxic high skill Jake he was looping me and t bagging on cold wind but somehow also disappearing mid chase I killed 2 other survivors then downed the other survivor put that toxic Jake on hook he got down with deliverance and tried making a run for it but left him slugged in case of DS then hooked him and gave the other player hatch right in front of his hook just to spite him in his toxicness the other player was very nice and thankful in a message

  • I only use them on hooks too small to notice on survivors

Get a 4-man SWFs together, everyone equip flashlights then at the last 12 seconds, unequip them. Almost guarantee the killer runs lightborn or franklins XD Thought it was pretty funny. So far, every killer has ran one, the other or both then got pissed at the end game chat for wasting their perk/perks lol.

Haha love it never thought about this also make sure you're all Nea that should help them take the bait in my experience all toxic players are Nea with a clicker lol

  • Or just remove killers from the game and make it so you get 1 mil for the escape also hatch gave you herpes? Or was it the key?

  • @Yaassin_q8 said:

I love wraith at the moment, mobility is always something a lot of killers struggle with and having that windstorm base speed with addons is so good. Throw in the bone clapper and some good perks and he's a whole lot of fun

Not that old wraith was bad, but feeling required to run windstorm was a bit annoying when all of his addons are good and interesting.

I main wraith when I play killer I think I used windstorm once and I got a 2k but with faster appearance time it was constant 4k I eventually got bored of it so I started learning Myers and Demo still haven't touched him after this buff I'm terrified they might have done a Billy and dome something to hinder him as well with the buff

It’s a combo that’s basically, you lose or you lose.

You “could” hide by most of the time but they know your general location, ends up catching up to you via trail.

It also forces you to not heal because Wraith is already on his way to fuc* you in the ass.

I can’t even do a gen nearby because im at risk for about 40 seconds.

I ended up using a generic meta survivor build because it’s gotten so bad that I ended up dropping 2 ranks from Red 2.

You're doing better than me and I still for the life of me hate playing against wraith especially now they've buffed his invisibility I got grabbed off a gen by one didn't hear his crackles or anything just appeared right behind me imagine my embarrassment a rank 4 got grabbed off a gen by wraith lol

  • @Wiitab360 said:

I'm not sure if they buffed chests or anything recently, but the amount of keys / hatch escapes I've had in the last month or so have been outlandish. For context, I took a break from the game shortly after Blight came out and only recently started playing regularly again, which meant that I started at Rank 20. Naturally, I started to make my way back up the ranks (I had been ~Rank 4 before the hiatus) and I noticed that once I got to green ranks, the matchmaking was not being very fair at all. I was getting full red rank sfw at rank 10, but that's a different issue. Many of these games have involved one or more of the survivors bringing keys, or finding them in chests.

    Example A:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/D9Z19UGPY9H6/key1.png

I was trying out the trickster as I had just gotten him with shards and levelled him up a bit. Decided to bring some meta perks because I heard he was, for the most part, a subpar killer. Ultimately, I got a few hooks but no sacrifices, and the survivors finished all the gens. Naturally, I started patrolling the gates, but never saw any scratch marks. So, I start widening my search to see if they're hiding somewhere nearby, healing, etc. when suddenly the hatch icon appears in the corner and all four of them escape at once. How exactly am I supposed to combat this? I can't exactly just leave the gates to search for the hatch, because then they're just going to open the gates and get out anyways, and I shouldn't have to go out of my way to find it when it's not even open in the first place, but fine. Whatever. I should've realized they brought a key when loading in right? Then I would've been able to adjust accordingly? That brings me to...

    Example B:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/4P0VZ29I2NGG/key2.png

I had some Nurse challenges from the archives left over so I decided to work on those, not even three games later. Now, my Nurse is only level 35, so I had to work with what I had, but I made extra sure to notice if any of them brought a key. As you can see, none of them did, and one of them even brought a Hawkins offering. They got the first couple gens done relatively quickly, but I managed to sacrifice one of them, and they also three genned themselves. Luckily, they seemed to be attempting to commit to the three gen instead of hiding, so I stuck to chasing them off the generators (two of which were close to being done) and I failed to notice that one of them wasn't showing up. So there I am, chasing one of the ones trying to work on a gen, when they run up to their two other friends standing around the hatch, and they all leave. They had gotten a key from a chest. Again, what should I have done here instead? Let them finish the generators? Hunted down the third guy? Should I have brought Franklin's Demise regardless of if they brought a key into the match or not?

Now, you might say that finding keys is a rare occurrence, but apparently, this is not even close to the truth. Of the last 30 games I've played (I've slowly climbed to rank 4) I would estimate that that at least one survivor brings in a key a third of the time, and they find a key in a chest another third of the time. Maybe half of these key-based matches involve at least two survivors escaping through the hatch.

In conclusion, keys are severely overpowered items that oftentimes cannot be played around or require an overhaul of your usual strategy to even stand a chance. They're way too commonly found in chests, even without a looting build, and their power only multiplies within a SFW, which is how most people play at purple and red ranks. Keys need a severe nerf, rework, or they should just outright be removed from the game. The hatch is also an outdated mechanic that needs to be reworked. And on a (semi) unrelated note, matchmaking is still broken and SFW makes that problem even worse.

TL;DR: Keys are broken gamechangers and are way too easily found within chests with little to no counters, especially when used within a SFW.

Ah yes another killer complaining about keys however I do agree chest seem to be spitting out keys more often I don't run plunderers for this reason but keys are getting a nerf so you know the person might just be using their stack of keys before they're made useless

  • Iron will, spinechill, lithe and balanced landing I basically put in the two exhaustion perks to confuse everyone but it's actually worked out well on a lot of maps

  • @piggygooik said:

Im still baffled by how some people think this killer takes no skill. This killer takes a ton of mechanical skill. you need to know who and when to go for someone as victor. the killer is just micromanaging. it can get so stressful to play this killer yet so fun. ya I guess u can say its not that hard to hit a surv with Vicor pounce since its like demos lunge, but ( not only did you discredit demo mains) against a good surv that knows how to bob and weave against victor it can get tough. also don't give me that" you can slug with victor since first of all they arent even the best sluggers. and if the survivors heal and are in a group you are screwed as vicotr.

it just sucks to have your main discredited like this.

all I'm saying is plz play the killer at red ranks in the moring and see how hard this killer can be

No I've seen too many games where the killer uses Victor nearly all game and just runs near enough up your ass then jumps onto you there's no skill in a killer that can catch up to you in seconds oh and hook blockers but that's not as popular now thank God

  • @MadLordJack said:

Interactive gen repair mechanics that don't let survivors hold a button to victory and actually makes them to fetch things from around the map and force potential interactions with killers that have no mobility.

A proper callout system and totem counter so that solo que at least has the chance to be co-ordinated.

Or, failing that, an in-depth pip system that takes into account the map, tile setup, spawns, perks, killer power, SWF status, items, add-ons, previous experience and even cosmetic items such as Blendette.

100% agree with all this I think making survivors actually work for their win would make things more balanced also more ways to escape instead of just hatch and doors could be power doors or fix a car or boat I don't know make it more horror like

  • Don't take it personally they probably thought you were taunting them and plus being left to die by your team is horrible in it's self I once snapped at someone who messaged me after my second game of Blight they were being nice and I took it as gloating but once they explained it was cool you just expect the worst of people in this game I know I do

Honestly, I would gladly forgo the MMR if it meant that we could have a practice mode with bots. How the mobile game has one but the main game hasn't been given one in five years doesn't make any sense to me. Not only would it be a great way to practice, but it would be a great way to blow off steam after being steamrolled against people you have no business being paired up with/against.

Wait mobile gets a training mode? What the hell are devs doing not implementing that on all platforms if a mobile can handle it console and pc will be a cake walk!

  • @SweetTerror said:

I had (past tense purposefully implied) a group of friends that I used to play this game with every day, but before too long all of the bugs, inconsistent matchmaking, and missing features took it's toll. Everyone had their own reasons for quitting the game, but for me I was tired of being paired with people far more/less skilled than me. Not to mention trying to practice with a new killer against people far more experienced than you does not a good time make!

I loaded up the game again here recently after a 3-month hiatus, and my rank 17 Wraith went against an all red ranked team, and my rank 15 survivor kept facing rank one killers. It looks as though my hiatus wasn't long enough. 😕

Match making at it's finest hopefully when MMR comes out it'll fix this exact issue I personally aim to return when that comes out as when it was being tested I had such great games I was sad to see it go

  • @Xeticus said:

I can't even get a down with him a lot of games. If a survivor blocks line of sight I can do nothing. And he is so slow that they are one exhaustion perk away and I will never catch them. How do you get downs with Trickster? In the amount of time it takes me to finish one chase all of my gens are gone. Constructive feedback only please.

Don't waste time on meaningless chases if you know they are gone don't go looking head to a gen to kill someone else I've played a little trickster he's ok not the best but ok he benefits from altruistic survivors who go in for saves when you're still at hook also his perk that blocks windows is a huge help I found it stops long loops with windows like shack

Just got to the last challenge for the previous tome, Risky repairs. Have a guess which killer I got? A killer I've faced just once this year.

I've had challenges before which conviently give you the worst map or killer possible for that challenge.

Freddie of all killers. I used the Game offering as the terror radius is frequent and I got within seconds of doing it but failed a skill check, then he turned up and hit me, putting me in dream world.

Anyone else had experiences of getting "convenient" killers for certain tasks?

Brings back flashbacks of the time I had infinite t1 Myers with finish 2 gens in terror radius or the time I had to escape as a barely leveled Felix against a rank 1 Freddy

Currently on a big break like you I used to main this game but I soon noticed my mental health was really bad from it I was really stressed from gameplay and constantly the one person messaging mean messages to everyone but since starting the break I'm feeling better and don't wanna touch the game for too long for fear of going backwards

  • Not so much I can zone out from chat but I do fall way too deep into the match I get way too frustrated but slowly working on it during my long break. I have also seen and know people that feel this effect from the game it gets frustrating from time to time.

It is the same for what happened, so far there are not very big news in Dead by Daylight, my reasons for 1 year that I do not see a new map or a new variant of an existing one, 1 license per year, very repetitive games and only one game mode, it is like wanting to do new things in Dead by Daylight and the challenges no longer make sense, except to look for the red griffin in tome VI. There is just nothing good to do apart from studying, there is no good game or a good movie, simply the worst stage of life.
