  • Assuming you mean we're going against amazingly skilled Survivors and Killers. Then yes, most definitely Survivors.

LeaksbyDaylight already removed the "Legendary"-Part. Besides that, I would assume that "Legendary" simply means it is a Set.

Other than that, I hope they dont release Legendary Skins for some Original Characters which turn them into Licensed Characters.

Ah I missed that last bit.

Also why not have original characters get licensed skins? It opens a lot of possibilities in the future.

  • There's going to be a legendary outfit for Spirit in the future, that could possibly be the SH nurse skin.

There is a third secret staircase that you can use but you have to break 2 breakable walls. It helps a bit more, but still leaves 1 corner with no means of getting upstairs.

I know, but its accessibility is under the control of the Killer. The entire trial can go on without that staircase ever being used.

    @Eleghost said:

Theres also a ramp leading upstairs in one of the rooms but god i despise the map because of the 2 different floors.

Very true, but I believe some of the doors that lead to that room is walled off and needs to be destroyed by the Killer

  • Same could be said with the Trapper, he fast walks instead of the usual running and people would think he's really quick because of that.

I need a Hotline Miami paragraph for this game. It would seriously be so good... The series is gruesome, psychotic, twisted, and Jacket is a perfect candidate for a brain washed killer to be added to the game, so honestly now it's just a matter of time for BHVR. ;)

That would be really cool, it'd kinda be like Legion with more 80s neon.

  • Pyramid Head is not a human wearing a pyramid helmet, he is a supernatural being from a realm in Silent Hill. In other words, that pyramid is quite literally his head and has "eyes" of its own.

  • A new Nea cosmetic is coming along with the Legion Rabbit skin, so don't worry.

Yeah, I don't see why we can't ask/pay someone to draw for us, as long as it's still original work.

Because it would involve another person in the waiver agreement making the inclusion of the skin complicated, which is something BHR doesn't want to be part of.

  • @csandman1977 said:

Claudette win i think because it mirrors the cosmetic department's latest trend in less clothes equals more money.

I would like the devs to choose the finalists with some kind of poll that the community can vote on to choose the winners

That may seem like a good idea on paper, but the problem lies on the fact that if the artist has a huge fan base/following they're most likely going to win the poll.

  • @KingFrost said:

Spray Can is a pretty cool idea, but I think maybe let them use it to mark things for other survivors? Like maybe some markings only survivors can see. Maybe leave messages.

Yeah I just listed a couple of ideas, but your ideas can work as well. After all, all items come with their set of add-ons.

  • I agree, cosmetics should meet the personality of the characters. The Legion Skin I didn't mind, since it fits with the whole edgy teen tech vibe.

Btw, Feng Min is Chinese not Korean.

  • With RE Resistence still going, I doubt a RE chapter could happen. However, if the game dies and is no longer updated, I can definitely see a possibility of a RE chapter happening.

  • First off, congrats to the two winners, very talented and creative.

By the looking at the previous winners, Behavior seems to want 1 design that's very detailed and complex and 1 that's very simple.

The 2019 competition winners were Feng Min (very well detailed and had a lot of visual elements) and Mr Puddles ( a very simple funny outfit).

Same applies here in 2020, they chose a visually compelling and extravagant Legion outfit and a very simple sweat pants and hoodie Claudette.

No doubt next year, they're going to follow this precedent yet again. Of course BHVR has a lot on their hands and have a lot of tasks that demand their attention, which is probably the reason why they do this. But I wish they actually took the time to pick something truly unique and well thought out that follows the theme/characteristics of the character.

I don't know if the movement is the same. That skin would work well on a killer mannequin or something. I could see it as a legion skin with really twitchy movement.

Yeah, I guess it would look a little awkward since Nurse levitates.

    @Iceman said:

Maybe this what they mean by Legendary Outfits? As @AshleyWB this would work great on a Legion Julie/Susie.

I hope they release an article explaining Legendary Outfits.

    That'd be a good idea!

  • To me, the winning side should always wait for at least one member of the losing side to state "gg" first then respond. This way you're showing courtesy to the losing side and not gloating how you won.

That's why I always never say "gg" first when I play Killer and get a 3 or 4k, I wait for a "gg" from the Survivors.

This only proves how killer mains scream that the game is imbalanced when they lose 1 game out of 100.

    On topic though:

"almost every single time Survivors put themselves into a 3 gen situation, one of them miraculously finds a key and escapes along with their friends"

Where s the video of survivors finding a key in every single game. Until then your thread is invalid.

Read my post again, it says "From my experience ( don't know about you guys), almost every single time Survivors put themselves into a 3 gen situation, one of them miraculously finds a key and escapes along with their friends."

I never said "every single game".

By “adapt and change tactics” you mean give up on hook since nobody wants to lose to a low skill noob boosted by add ons and offerings. Killer brings iri heads, noed and an ebony. Survivors arent aware of any of those until the game starts.

Also while it may be a free escape the chances of getting a key are incredibly low without plunderers instinct. You really need the perk to stand a chance at getting the key. It could be argued that NOED is the equivalent, granting free hooks/kills despite all the survivors hard work. Doing 4 totems and then dying to NOED anyway feels just as crappy.

I'm pretty sure most people here agree that Iri Head is too OP, and I agree that it should be changed. But most other Ultra Rare Killer Add-ons can have a counter play. NOED is a strong perk but it can be countered by, oh idk, cleansing totems?

And yes, Survivors don't know this until someone gets affected, but that's the point isn't it? Unless you want to see the Killer's add-ons and perks at the start of the game, which would break balance.

I mean if you wanna get 3 genned and have the game last forever then that's on you, but I want to actually have a chance of finding a key and escape rather than waiting an hour to finish the match.

Or you know if you put yourself into a 3 gen situation, you know you could approach the killer and suicide on the hook instead of hiding for 20 minutes. 3 gen is a valid strat that the Killer can use if Survivors work on gens recklessly. Btw, a 3 gen is always at the fault of the survivors, not the killer.

  • @Almo said:

    Sometimes they green keys >:)

I mean, what's the harm with removing keys from chests?

  • A lot of the people here defending chest keys are bringing up Moris. Yes, Ebony Moris are powerful and definitely should be changed, but we're talking about chest keys.

When you play the game as Killer and see a survivor holding a key in the lobby, you can immediately change your build to counter them gen rushing and taking the hatch.

With unexpected keys from chests, there's literally no way you know they have one unless you seem them holding it or ... well, using it.

Also some think that 3 genning is a lazy strat. To those that think this way clearly never played killer. First off, the Survivors put themselves into that situation. They were so focused on finishing gens that tactic was something completely foreign to them. Keys from chest ( and yes, while there's a small chance of obtaining one) can completely nullify their punishment and give them an easy escape.

If Survivors put themselves in a 3 gen situation, they should be punished for it, not rewarded.

Except it's not breaking the game. And your comparison is flawed. As I stated, there is not a 7% chance to get a key that will allow you to escape. The majority of baseline chests that produce keys produce green keys because it requires a perk to render higher rarity items from chests. If a killer had to pray to the entity several times in a match to gain a 1% chance of being able to mori a survivor - by all means. Implement that time wasting bullshit.

I have no problems with keys themselves, I have a problem with dull and skeleton keys having a chance of being freely given away.

It can and does break the game, at least partially. You're vastly underestimating the power of chest keys and how the Killer can be completely oblivious to one survivor having one.

By all means, keys from chests are indeed, to put it nicely, "bull crap".

  • @LALYTHIA said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1207456#Comment_1207456

No, its a 7% chance baseline to get ANY key...which includes useless green keys. Its luck of the draw and it's designed to happen extremely infrequently, which it does. Also, if a survivor and "all their friends" are escaping through the hatch with a key - they have obviously done all the gens necessary to get there...so it's not as though they've done nothing in a match while you're just out there being Captain Kill-a-Hoe. 🙄

Hate to break it to you but even the chance of obtaining a game ending item can break the game.

And its not like I literally waited for them to finish gens until there was a few left. I applied pressure like always and by sheer luck they managed to escape.

Having such a impactful item being able to spawn is a ridiculous gameplay design.

Imagine if the Killer had a "7% chance" of being able to Mori someone when they downed them. Yeah not exactly a good idea amirite? 🤔

  • @LALYTHIA said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/143526/how-is-it-fair-for-chests-to-spawn-keys

I can confirm that this does not happen every single time a team is 3-gen'd on a map. In fact, I can assure you that it doesn't even happen that frequently. LOL

When I said "Almost every time" I meant from my own personal experience, not speaking for other killers . But my point still stands, keys from chests are broken OP.

(edited my post btw for better clarification)

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

To be honest, I'm not really against finding a key during a match. It adds a lot of extra drama to each game, but I do recognize that killers don't have an equivalent ability in each match.

Well, the "extra drama" isn't exactly fun when nearly 90% of the game was you outsmarting the Survivors and them just cheaply escaping at the last second.

    Oh and "Entity Displeased"

  • @Chaoutzu said:

For as many iri heads i've ran into, and other ultra rare killer addons that break the game, this isn't a valid complaint. I've found 1 key in a chest since I've been playing. I know, because I was pretty excited that it was the first key I had, that's why the moment stuck out in my head awhile ago.

Suvivors and Killer bring addons and items. Strategies/tactics can be changed when an addon or item is seen or used.

With keys from chests, they're completely unpredictable and just broken OP.

  • @Chaoutzu said:

    You're kidding me right?

Keys, in my opinion, are strong and so are many Ultra rare Killer add-ons. But Survivors and Killers bring them into the game and strategies can be changed once the add-on or item is seen or used.

With random Dull or Skeleton keys, there's literally no counter because the Killer didn't prep for the key to be used since it was randomly given and none of the Survivors had a key at the start. You understand?

With your example of Iridescent Heads, at least the Survivors know immediately what the Killer is using and adapt and change tactics.

With random Keys, it's straight up unpredictable and borderline broken.

  • @animalmak said:

As a survivor, I agree. Also because if I'm looking in a chest, it's USUALLY to find a med kit so I can stop bleeding everywhere. Keys don't help me with that lmao. I know even things like medkits and flashlights and toolboxes can switch up game momentum, but not in the same way a key can. It would be like if a killer could suddenly switch on a mori with no counter (Devour Hope obviously allows for moris but it has requirements and can be eliminated by cleansing). So yeah, definitely not an item I think should spawn in chests.

That's what I'm saying. Chests spawning keys is equivalent to the Killer having a random chance to Mori someone after they hook a Survivor. It's actually more ridiculous now I think about it.

  • The reason I ask is because I'm currently working on a Killer skin and I feel like BHVR is going to be "fair" and choose both.

I was hoping they'd just look at the design alone and not just balance the scale.

  • @Mo4ntus said:

No the Rng is an important part of the game which makes it replayable

True, but RNG can also (partially) ruin both sides ( god loops).

  • @Mat_Sella said:

BHVR already has control over the randomness of everything in the maps, they just have not gone around to the older maps...which also make up the majority of maps in the game as well.

If they weren't randomized, survivors would automatically create and follow the most optimal routes for each and every map, since of course, they wouldn't change after all.

But I feel like if maps weren't randomized, it could be more beneficial to both sides. For one thing, BHR could remove a few safe loops from a map so that the Killer could get a better edge. But your point on survivors following the most optimal route, the Killer can also know this and use this to their advantage ie: hide, place a trap in the area, cloak, etc.

With haunted grounds i used to think if u stood on a random part of the ground then u was exposed to one shot never to know after a while if u cleasned the hex totem that's what exsposes u

Was that before the Doctor released? Would be a cool idea for a perk.

After the release of the beta, me and everyone else thought wraith was op. LOL

  • @BattleCast said:

I thought Killers could only get the maps that were based around them. So every time I loaded into a corn map I thought it was Hill Billy only to get grabbed off a gen by a Michael Myers thinking I was safe.

Honestly that would be a pretty cool separate game mode.

  • @FilledPizza said:

I used to think that you had to have the perk Wake Up! in order to wake up against Freddy

Oh god, that's a pretty good one.

  • @BigBubs said:

Being "bottom tier" killer doesn't mean you can't have fun playing him.

If you only care about 4k every single game then you don't need to buy any of the dlcs according to all of the whiny people who make killer tier lists lol.

Very true. But you can't deny the fact that his base kit is really frickin weak. If DBD ever overhauls the weak killers to be viable, then I will definitely start playing him.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

It's worth getting him just for those two perks alone imo. I've also had some success running coulrophobia in a big terror radius Doc build on smaller maps, like The Game (since it basically covers the entirety of the map, making for a permanent -50% healing debuff)

He's a fun killer, but bottom of the barrel, if at least because sometimes his power literally doesn't work when it should. He's probably low mid-tier at best. Only you can really put value on that.

Yeah, that's why I'm at a predicament at the moment. Clown is a bottom tier killer but a few of his perks are really good, guess I'll just get him for those and never play him.
