No one thought the bunny skins were good, the "cute" stuff like The pink elephant still have grotesque body hair and proportions and unsettling design elements. I don't see anyone using dwelf skins, ever. I feel like this is a bit of a straw man a lot of people use? The fact that non horror elements exist in the game, is okay if used sparingly. The issue is that the base version of this killer does not in any way seem threatening. And psychological horror does not work if there is no suspense or sense of unknown. There is no suspense, he's immediately coming after you. There is no unknown, it is a kid trying to hook and kill you. How far will he go, what is he willing to do, how will he subvert my expectations??? He won't, he's just going to try to kill you. Calling him a "psychological horror" killer doesn't work if he acts literally exactly the same as the other killers. Its not even an argument

First off, your images didn't upload, maybe reupload them?

DBD is a horror-themed game. Your idea of horror can be completely different from someone else's. The requirements of adding a new original Killer is their dark history: committing murders, tortures, etc. This doesn't necessarily have to be shown visually on the actual character.

Horror can be shown in a variety of different ways, it does NOT have to be shown in a grotesque or ugly way. Deathslinger and Clown aren't even that mutated or even wear a mask just like Trickster and yet they still fit that dark and grim horror theme.

Why not include a killer who is flamboyant, neon, and visually human? If the killer is a KPOP psychopathic serial killer , why not include him?

Ask yourself this. What make a horror character, horror? What constitutes as horror? Is it just how "ugly" and "creepy" they look? Perhaps there's more to it than just visuals, eh?

When eating food presentation can be as important as taste. There have been studies that show the exact same food can "taste" worse depending on if it looks appetizing or not.

Killers are similar. Sure there are some that don't mind it but the people that complain about this type of thing want scary/grotesque monsters to go against. It would be like being confused why fans are complaining about the new Michael Myers movie when Mike is dressed in a tutu with a rubber chicken as a weapon.

Can't really use Myers as an example since he's already an established character with his own style and aesthetics.

Found the Huntress that needs Iri to 4k

I don't use Iri Head, in fact, I have over 80 of them because I know they're super broken. I just wanted them to change it so that it's still useful but more balanced.

  • @Chilli_man2400 said:

I’m happy they did that change because I suggested to keep it the same but make it so you can’t run infantry belts on her and they did it I love the iridescent head change.

As for her new addon, I think it should be basekit I think huntress should move at 115% when out of hatchets at base.

I agree, it should be base kit. I'm just wondering why it's an Ultra Rare add-on.

  • @mintchapstick said:

Oh, come on. You can't say that iri head in its current state is okay. Pairing it with infantry belt has always been an exploit.

I agree it was too powerful, I just wish they made it still decent and useable.

killed 2 people after this ######### went down. they did 2 gens. There was a Kate and a Felix. I chased the Kate until she gave up and emotionally broke. She went afk, I had her on my back she was my back buddy.

I found the hatch before it spawned in with blight rush bug. I sat on it with hex ruin, surveillance, undying, and tinkerer. They cleansed both totems. Felix 75% 3 gens and I went to go kick them. He never touched them ever again he hid. I tried letting the Kate go and following her to see if she'd bring me to Felix as I haven't seen him yet and he hasn't been hooked. She was literally a lima bean. She never brought me to him. After she pissed me off enough I put her back on my back and sat on the hatch that has yet to be spawned.

I then went to go play Mario kart 8 while waiting for tinkerer to proc. It never did, I played 4 Mario kart 8 circuits and if you were wondering I got 1st for 3 of the 4 circuits (200cc). I got bored of Mario kart and this fiend hasn't done one generator. I go watch some YouTube on my phone while I wait. 20 minutes have past no gens. At this point I was devoted to winning.

I dropped the Kate had her bleedout ontop of the not even spawned hatch closed it instantly and zoomed back and forth to the exit gates. I finally found the Felix once I found him I let him get up just so I could hit him again. After doing this like 4 times I dragged his useless cheeks to a corner and let the timer kill him.

    OUTPLAYED SUPERIOR GAMER

I'm sure the reason OP has 13 upvotes is because it made those people burst out laughing.

Also, you should've hooked the Kate.

Most survivors hate that. Legion, even now when he barely inconveniences you at all with it; still makes a bunch of folks angry. So I doubt BHVR is gonna go that route again just to avoid the backlash Legion used to create.

Except in this case, you HAVE to mend when in Deep Wound because you're gonna be put into the Dying State if you don't. Trickster's Laceration isn't going to gradually put you into the dying state, instead it's a choice that the Survivor has to make. Should I take time to remove these knives? Or should I continue working on this gen?

Dead Dawg has so much wasted space. The map is bigger than the resources on it are allocated. It's also absolutely god awful for killers, since you need to break like 6+ walls just to get started.

It's only in the main building where the issue arises, but if you destroy that one wall next to the window and stairs, it won't cause a major problem. Otherwise, I'd say it's pretty Killer sided just because how small it is, making it easier to pressure gens.

You missed my point. Though it would be nice if every killer was viable.

When killer ques up they usually dread going against a swf because it's so powerful. However there's a chance it won't be a swf. If you buff solo to swf lvl then there will be no chance of a chill match. It will be frustration every single match. Killers would stop playing.

The survivor equivilant would be you que up and run into spirit. Most survivors hate spirit but you won't face a spirit every game. What if every time you qued up your match was going to be as frustrating as fighting the killer you hate the most? Would you want to play that every single time?

Behavior can add numerous ways of evening both sides. They could add new game mechanics such as searching for generator parts to start working on gens, early game collapse concept where gens are repaired slower or blocked for a small duration, etc. Then you can also buff average and weak killers to A tier level. There are many ways of altering the game so that not every game is going to be a sweat fest, it's just Behavior is not adamant about adding anything NEW to the game's base mechanics.

  • @EvilJoshy said:

SWF is OP and I can't think of a way to balance it. Why would you make solo just as strong? That would be like bringing every single killer to Nurse lvl. Would you want to face that every game?

You answered your own question, make every Killer strong and viable.

  • When people say "buff solos to SWF level", it doesn't mean Killers can't be buffed. If you buff solo survivors to SWF level, you can then buff Killers accordingly, no longer will you have to divide the survivor community into two groups. Before, Solos were at an enormous disadvantage in contrast to SWF.

How would you "nerf" SWF? Make them work on gens slower? Reduce their movement speed? These are not good balance decisions for people wanting to play the game with their friends, it's a good way of killing the game's population. So really the best solution is to buff solos to SWF level then increase the power levels of Killers so that they're both on even ground.

  • Are we finally gonna get new animals besides caw caws?

  • I like the differences in sounds. I mean the loudness of each Survivor is what makes them unique.

  • @Zagrid said:

This event better come with 2v8 or something huge.

Effectively after Twins and Trickster, I haven't gotten a new killer to play since October. Purely because playing as those 2 is just *pain*

Unfortunately, Behavior said that they're not interested in new game modes and that they're happy with the current 1v4 mode.

  • This is how I "pressure gens".

Step 1: As soon as the game starts, look for 3 or 4 gens that are closest to each other and use that area as your territory. It's ok if 1 or 2 gens get completed in the early game as long as you have those 3/4 gens protected and untouched.

Step 2: When you chase a survivor, make sure not to go too far from your territory. If you don't think you can down the survivor, just leave them and go back to pressuring the gens in your territory.

Step 3: It's important to note that you should down and hook survivors within your territory. This way you can pressure survivors working on gens and those trying to unhook. If you have to camp the Survivor to struggle phase, do it, it's important to get 1 survivor out of the game as quick as possible.

Step 4: Once the survivors managed to complete 4 gens, the last remaining gens should be in your territory. You essentially created a 3 gen where it'll only get easier for you to win. But make sure you have 1 survivor dead by the time there's only 3 gens left, as it will get very difficult from there.

  • Good changes but also make it so that Survivors have to remove the knives themselves and make him 115% movement. I think with these added changes, it could possibly put him in high B tier .

  • Good change! But how did it take them 4 years to implement this?

I'm wondering if the skill check bar is going to get gradually smaller like Pyramid Head's cages.

  • Stretched res "exploit" is rather difficult to take care of. But it must be mentioned that stretched res can be used by both Survivors and Killers IIRC, so really both sides can use the exploit to their advantage.

Should it be taken care of? Yes, they should, but it'll be very difficult to do so.

  • The issue with MMR is that there's no visual indication that it's actually working.

I said a lot of his skins make people confused about his race.

Case and point, his longer hair with a beard does NOT look anything Asian and many people concur on that part.

    Grow up.

    Ok I gotta intervene here.

Are you saying Asian people are incapable of having long hair and beard? LMAO.

  • Enough with this race talk. Jake is Korean, end of story.

Bugfixed can effect balance by a large amount.

J flick is fun, and it's what makes blight a good killer. Removing it nerfs him hard.

Because it's BHVR, asking for a remotely substantial killer buff is like talking to a brick wall. I may as well advocate for them to be lazy and not remove it.

You really think Blight is going to be trash/mediocre because he can no longer do a 180 deg flick? LOL. He still has amazing lethality and mobility and is still capable of taking down skilled survivor squads.

  • The issue with Myers is that he's a regular 115% Killer with no power if the survivors don't heal and just work on gens. At least with Ghostface, you can still use his night shroud to sneak up and ambush survivors.

  • How can it be a nerf when it was never supposed to be part of Blight's kit? lmao

  • The lobby has bright white lighting, which accentuates all the details and such. In the default lobby, it was a muddy brown color which is why it looked "ugly".

    .................................so.......................... :''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''(

i rly expect some of these things:

    • Making him a 115% speed killer.
    • Tap M2 should throw 1 blade, hold it throw more.... had to press M1 again feels akward.
    • Blades Ricochet in the environment once basekit.
    • Main Event stay able to activate by pressing Control forever (like the Oni Demon Fury).
      • When fully charged, the killer and the survivors will hear a sound warning (like with the Oni, Plague, Myers fully charged powers)
        • Maybe adding an animation of him making a cool pose with scenario lights pointing on him while activating as a negative effect of being able to choose when to use it????
    • During the Main Event:
      • Be able to Aim & throw infinite blades with rate significantly increased at fully 115% speed, but not forced to... so you can pick up survivors and open lockers.
      • Terror Ratius tremendusly increased.
      • Survivors inside the Terror Ratius trigger Killer Instinct.
    • Blade-damage (Laceration) should stay until the survivor makes a new healing interaction (like Mending/Snap of madness/Wake up/etc...).
      • Do objectives (repairing/healing others/making bones/etc.) while affected by the blade-damage increase it and even down yourself.
      • Addons who affect the decay delay will increase the time takes to do that healing interaction for each blade hit. (like the mending Deathslinger/Legion addons).
        • addons who affect the decay delay out of blades increase the self-increased blade-damage while doing objectives.

This is exactly what I want.

  • Yikes...

They need to know that when something is so obviously bad, they need to fix it immediately.

My point is, it's another thing that is indicative of the mentality the devs and the players of this game have where tools that serve a singular purpose when used in specific scenarios, and only when the player using them knows what they're doing, are taken away because the other side can't be bothered to learn to deal with it.

Also, I don't care about these many, very real, Blight players that do well against good players without his flick, that totally exist and are totally not a generalization that someone on the internet made to try and make a point. My point is, his flick is a tool he can use to deal with certain situations that, without it, ONLY require a survivor to turn a corner a little bit to nullify his power. Again, effort balance. What's expected of the survivor without the flick is minuscule in comparison to what's expected of the Blight player in certain tiles.

-Clarifications (because I know someone might try bringing this ######### up)

To clarify,...im not saying killers are weak and useless and get trampled by survivors. What I'm saying is that this kind of change is indicative of a mentality that thinks it's fine for survivors to have to work less to get results. Whereas a killer player, especially with a killer like Blight, needs to know so much more and try so much more to compensate for what survivors are doing.

To clarify a second thing, because I'm sure people will bring this ######### up as well...I am not saying survivor gameplay is totally 100% skilless and easy. Given the fact that it is very possible to differentiate between good and bad survivors that's just not true. HOWEVER, when at similar levels, I think it is pretty accurate to say that most things that killers need to do to thrive in a match are more demanding and require more present knowledge, awareness and effort than what survivors are required to do. There are things in the game that change that dynamic and there are problematic things on the killer side, and solo queue is bad. BUT generally speaking at similar levels my position is accurate, which is what bothers me and has me tired of this game.

As you already know, the devs clarified that the jflick with Blight is not intentional and that it was a deliberate design choice. Could the devs give him a buff where jflicking is official and part of his kit? Sure! And yes, there are many Blight players out there who can do just fine without jflicking, it's not just some random generalization/assumptions I'm making up. I've went against plenty of them as Survivor. That and many well known streamers do just fine. Did it ever occur to you that those Blight players that don't alter their mouse DPI actually more put more skill into their power BECAUSE they don't use an outside exploit?

But then again, you can argue every single Killer requires an arbitrary level of buffs so the survivors need to put more effort on countering their power (besides the obvious top contenders like Nurse and Spirit). As for the whole "Killers need to put more effort than Survivors". I mean, yes, it's pretty darn obvious Killers need to put more effort and quickly adapt and strategize than Survivors do. But that's the point right? Killers require more effort but that's also why it's so fun to play the role. The killer is alone against 4 survivors but you are playing for yourself, you don't need to rely on other players to help boost the advantage. That's the beauty of playing Killer, it's certainly more stressful but it all comes down to you challenging yourself, testing your reflexes and muscle memory.

  • @NekoTorvic said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2064556#Comment_2064556

Oh wow that's great. Just what a high skill floor killer like Blight needs, to be another killer that requires ZERO attention on the survivor part of their positioning and distance from the killer.

I already barely play this game anymore because of how ridiculous its gameplay decisions are. The only thing that gets me to come back to the game is that I do so love Blight. I'll just have a reason to finally uninstall it for good as soon as this ######### change happens.

ffs...Mildly hide behind a rock "Oh sorry your power is useless now teehee" what the ######### else should one expect from survivors.

And yet there are many Blight players out there who can play very well without jflicking, what's your point?

  • Most likely Resident Evil since that franchise is having their own anniversary event this year, I believe. The other contenders being horror icons like Alien, Pinhead, Jason, etc.

  • Yes, you can submit to one of each category, 4 in total.

Plague I can absolutely understand, emetophobia is a genuine thing, after all. And a lot of people are seriously taken aback how much Spirit (and feng, too) are sexualized despite being made to look like minors.

Yeah I can see where you're coming from now that you clarified. Yeah, Trickster is the "psychotic and rich pretty boy who thinks he can get away with anything" character archetype. I can see why he seems unsettling to you.

Like, I LOVE deathslinger's chuckle. but where Deathslinger has the air of a sarcastic bastard who plays fair-ish (designwise, not how some people play him), trickster's just... no.

Can't you be more specific on what those red flags are? Being ambiguous isn't helping anyone.

  • @Crowman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2059677#Comment_2059677

The problem with making him 115 without any other changes is why would you play him over Plague?

Laceration doesn't do anything and heals over time. At least the trade off to survivors healing with fountains is giving Plague her Corrupt Purge which is strong. Main Event isn't even stronger than just throwing knives.

Oh I meant make him 115% in addition to OP's proposed changes.

  • After watching Otz play him, it really seems like if the survivors just run tightly around corners he can't even touch them. I feel he should be 115% killer just like Plague.

No, what I am doing is saying that someone saying that Myers isn`t scary is stupid. There is a reason why the Halloween movies have raked in 100`s of millions of dollars in the box offices. He is an iconic character that is known around the world that people go as far as to dress up as. You want to defend Mr. Kpop, thats fine but you shouldn`t crap on and probably leave worldwide established characters out if you want people to take you seriously.

Saying Myers is scary or not is subjective. The point is that you don't need to wear a mask to appear "scary". I do believe Trickster needs some minor changes but I can understand the "human" appeal that BHR was going for.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aihxQE043YU

And I'll repeat again, I would have rather they used Hoffman over Amanda just so it would be a bit more realistic when it comes to the physicality of overpowering the survivors. But it's bE, we gotta hit those diversity numbers ya know?

Why are you so damn serious about this? There are a lot of inconsistencies in this game if we look at it from your point of view. Susie and Pig wouldn't be able to carry Bill, Ash, or David by one hand. Killers can just jump over obstacles instead of running around in circles. Like I can go on forever.

I respect your opinion and understand the message you're trying to convey but don't make it sound like DBD is a serious "down to earth" game.

  • The Trickster looks too bright, tone down his clothing colors and add more scars, tattoos, and wounds to his body so he looks more menacing. The Survivor looks fine.

  • After reading all the comments and looking at the evidence, I think the Killer might be a burn victim who worked as a music producer/ musician. Another hint is that the Behavior twitter profile hides a person's face, that person might be the Killer and their face could be heavily charred and disfigured from the fire. The survivor most likely is the girl with blue hair.
