Well, you started a conversation with your post. Others including myself raised logical, well thought out points to counter your post, and then comedy ensued, in the form of your following postulations.

Debate might not have been the appropriate word in retrospect.

Nobody is looking for anything from you. After all, we are all just nobodies on the internet.

Good luck with your next games.

I sincerely hope you don't run into any more basement dwelling Bubba's.

    πŸ‘

    Thanks.

Like every other reply in this thread, you are grasping at the wrong end of the stick.

If you would have started a thread saying that face camping is scummy etc.. the I think most people would have been on board. Where you have lost everyone is whn you have tried to insist that it is specifically an exploit, as opposed to a cheap game tactic.

As your own words say, it is a dumb tactic. Meaning not beneficial to the killer. This does not equate to an exploit.

I'm glad that you brought up the concept of self reflection, as I feel it would serve you well to reflect on your tenuous grasp of this games core mechanics, as well as debates in general.

I mean, you thought this was a debate?

Sorry to break it to you, but I don't find a simple forum post regarding a 5+ year old game a debate unless it's super serious.

You have your points, I have mine. Agree to disagree. And I never wanted to win everyone. Simple as that.

Ya'll are pretty much nobodies on the internet.

We'll never meet, talk nor spend time together so why would I even invest anything personal to you all? Silly.

Do what you wish and stay cool.

No. What actually happened was that you tried to prove a point by bringing out a particular dictionary definition of a word to fit your narrative. That's because you don't understand that context is king in discussions.

"Dead by Daylight was meant to be played as a continuous, paced gam, not sit and stare simulation." That is solely YOUR OPINION. Players are free to play the game in any way they see fit, within the established rules.

Have the Devs stated that they frown upon teabagging, camping or tunneling? If so, where have they stated this? If not, can you please stop trying to impose your own opinions in their place?

You do realize this started off as a Bubba camping thing right?

It just happened to have strained into a general "camping" discussion.

Like I said, do whatever you please.

    Camp, Tunnel, T-bag whatever.

But you should also acknowledge that it's a ridiculous decision for both parties. It's called self-reflection. People should try it more often.

And regarding devs' comments, I can't find the exact source but this post says it pretty clear.

https://www.twitch.tv/videos/133831408 I'd like to go through points of the stream that I personally found to be interesting. I'll be listing them chronologically, and it just so happens that the first thing on the list turned this stream into my favorite one ever. 40:15-40:45 Despite all the footage and contradictions from the devs that I've tried to gather in my previous debates about camping, this right here is the greatest thing that's been said, and I wish that this would end the debate...

So judging by the comments, the devs said it's okay, but they are frowning upon it saying it's dumb even for dumb killers.

So all in all, I still remain by the fact that Bubba is a killer who exploits camping to the max.

While I do dislike camping, it's a choice, but Bubba is just on a whole nother level.

  • Can you elaborate your point please?

A simple picture and a context-less caption doesn't really say much.

  • @ilovedbd123 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2100246#Comment_2100246

It literally is though. And it's not world famous dude. Its literally just well known and used in America. Stop acting so high and mighty.

The example it uses in this version of the dictionary.

to make use of meanly or unfairly for one's own advantage

    exploiting migrant farm workers.

    It isn't behavioural exploitation, mb.

Its social exploitation, not in game/ technical exploitation. These have separate definitions.

To exploit in a game means to use 3rd party software or glitches to gain an unfair advantage over your opponents. An example of this in league of legends is the glitch where xerath (a champion in the game) could hit everyone from one spot by aiming an ability at a certain spot in the map. That's a glitch that wasn't meant to be there, but was abused.

If you refuse to see this, then there is no point Debating someone who clearly lacks a fundamental understanding of the game and it's terminology. Also, surely Google's definition is more world wide then that dictionary? Just a thought.

You really think Google has their own dictionary up their sleeves? Lol, that's a good one.

Merriam Webster is 190 years old.

Google takes everything from other sources, I thought you knew that by now.

And let me be clear once more:

    @Homemade_Cookies said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2100209#Comment_2100209

Here is a definition of Exploit from Merriam Webster:

"to make use of meanly or unfairly for one's own advantage"

CAMPING IS AN EXPLOIT OF THE GAME'S DESIGN.

    Got that now?

Geez now I must pull out the definition of words for yah? Just because you don't understand?

I specifically mentioned that Bubba was never intended to be a camping meme during his development.

Players, however started to exploit his capabilities and thus the whole camping Bubba started.

    Teabagging is the same.

It's supposed to be used as a crouch mechanic and yet people started to use it as a toxic mean.

That's an exploit of the developer's game design.

Devs did state that camping and tunneling are viable, but they did say that it's not an optimal game decision. Meaning they have negative viewpoints about them.

    Sheesh.

"CAMPING IS AN EXPLOIT OF THE GAME'S DESIGN."

You see that word there? Design?

Yeah so no sh%^ Sherlock, it ain't a program related exploitation.

And if you still don't get it, don't even bother replying.

And I repeat myself again, sure do whatever you please, but what's so hard about acknowledging it's a literal exploit of a killer and a game mechanic πŸ€”?

Because it's simply not true. I will not "acknowledge" this any more than I will "acknowledge" the Earth is flat, and neither will anyone else.

You are not the person who determines what is or isn't intended, that's up to the devs. If they say it's intended, then that's the end of it.

But they never said it was intended did they?

And knowing most developers, do you really think camping was a mechanic the devs were fully aware of?

Why would they frown upon it then, if they are perfectly fine with it?

I can read between the lines and deep down you know it's not a normal thing to do. It's just widely accepted now.

  • @ilovedbd123 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2100224#Comment_2100224

Idk who merriam Webster is, but the definition is this:

exploit (Noun) A program or technique that exploits a vulnerability in other software.

So this is saying you need to use 3rd party software or a glitch to do something you shouldnt be able to do.

Your definition is talking about behavioural exploitation. Something you do in real life, not the computer exploits, which is what people refer to when saying something is an exploit.

Maybe it's you who doesn't understand words sir.

Bubba wasn't intended to be able to Excell at camping, neither was twins. But everyone who played killer understood that they suck in a chase and have next to no map pressure (twins can only access one person (Charlotte or Victor) at any time so they need to hold important places) so they need to camp to win, as whilst it's not fun there's no other way to compete.

Teabagging is just toxic, and can be used to get attention. It sucks, but it's not an exploit.

They said they endorsed camping and tunneling (meaning it's fine) and that they wouldn't punish it not because they couldn't but because they think it would make the game that bit less playable as killer.

And everyone has negative viewpoints on them, we all know it's scummy, but that doesn't mean it's any less acceptable to do. Your allowed to do it, sometimes you even have to do it.

If your saying otherwise (most streamers have said that tunneling is necessary in high levels of play, especially when MMR comes out they will excuse camping as it'll highlight the flaws in the game) then your of the minority here bud, and so you haven't been put against players that are good and had to deal with them. Also how long have you played killer (how many hours, as rank means very little).

I mean, if you don't know a world-famous dictionary then that's not MY fault.

And no, that's not the definition of the word in this context.

  • @BSVben said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2100224#Comment_2100224

Yet again I implore you to actually read my posts before pulling out a dictionary and replying.

I specifically said "in the context of this game".

An exploit, as widely accepted in the context of this game, is an unintended feature utilised and abused as a means to gain an unfair advantage.

The Devs make a point of patching out any known exploits, i.e. forever mending legion etc...

Teabagging is irritating but provides no unfair advantage.

Yes the Devs stated that camping is not an optimal game decision. Meaning that it's not optimal for the killers gameplay. I.e. it hurts the killer, in the form of pressure loss, BP's and depipping. It doesn't mean any other reason that you are trying to interpret it as.

If you are going to reply to me again, I would advise you to actually read my post properly, and think before clicking the post comment button.

You literally added a few words in front of the definition I pulled out of, so go figure.

And plus, you should also read my post again before replying.

I said that camping was an exploit of the GAME'S DESIGN.

Meaning Dead By Daylight was meant to be played as a continuous, paced game, not sit and stare stimulation.

Is this so hard for people to understand? Why's everyone pretending that camping is not normal nor was it intended by the devs from the very start?

The devs frown upon tea-bagging, camping, tunneling and etc, but that doesn't mean they can straight-out ban it.

Because, like they said: "It's a viable option".

And I repeat myself again, sure do whatever you please, but what's so hard about acknowledging it's a literal exploit of a killer and a game mechanic πŸ€”?

  • @Orion said:

Who are you to say what is or isn't intended by the game's design? Are you a developer?

Developers are the ones who design the game and have a say in what is or isn't intended. If they say it's not an exploit of the game's design, then it's not an exploit of the game's design, because they are the ones who designed it in the first place.

So you really think camping was an intended feature of Dead By Daylight?

You are telling me that the devs during alpha, beta, testing & release all had camping in mind and were okay with it?

    Dude, get real.

Camping was founded by the players.

You can do whatever sure, but at least acknowledge it was smth that was definitely not part of the game's inception and should be avoided since it's not the best way to play.

I think you need to do some research on the word exploit, especially in context with this game.

Absolutely none, not one, of any of your examples are in any way exploits.

You can teabag in any game where you can crouch. Same thing for any first person view multiplayer game.

I hate to break it to you, but camping existed before hillbilly was introduced....

And if you would have read my post correctly, you would have noticed that I stated that the Devs have EXPLICITLY stated that both camping and tunneling are ok. If you do a bit of research on the forum, I'm sure you can find the Devs response.

    Get that straight πŸ‘

Here is a definition of Exploit from Merriam Webster:

"to make use of meanly or unfairly for one's own advantage"

CAMPING IS AN EXPLOIT OF THE GAME'S DESIGN.

    Got that now?

    Unfun? Yes.

    An exploit? Absolutely not.

The Devs have explicitly endorsed both camping and tunneling as valid strategies.

Just move onto the next game.

    Camping is an exploit.

It wasn't intended by the devs. They just happened to allow since it'll cause all the ruckus by the community.

Just like T-bagging is an exploit and moon-walking is.

Bubba was meant to be a one-shotable killer like Hillbilly, but people started to exploit that and devised a dumb strategy to camp.

Like I said, just because the devs allowed it to be "viable" it doesn't mean it's an intended result. Get that straight.

  • @ThanosPAWG said:

I started playing Bubba a lil while ago and it makes me sad that such a good killer is in basement with insidious the entire match

It's a waste of time for everyone and most importantly, unfun.

It's an exploitation of the game's mechanic and just because the devs didn't flat out disprove of this, people started to take it for granted and made every single game a nightmare for everyone (except for the killer of course).

It made me feel sad seeing my other survivors trying to approach the basement for a rescue but just had to circle around and give up.

All the killer did was just do 360 turns using his mouse to scout the surroundings.

  • @Rougual said:

  • When has DBD been horror as of 2021?

It's a hide and go seek game at best.

Also, the game literally feels terrible when playing solo.

In DBD Mobile, you at least get visual cues on when a killer is close by or what direction it's at.

We need smth like that for solo queue or this game will be dead before it becomes "not" horror.

  • @Adjatha said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2099768#Comment_2099768

"They have the most powerful effects in all of DBD"

    Let's take a look, shall we? https://deadbydaylight.fandom.com/wiki/Hex_Perks

    • Blood Favor: Blocks palettes in an extremely small radius after hitting a target, with a very short duration and a long cool down. The only time this is ever going to be useful is if you down someone inside a palette before they can drop it and another survivor is right nearby waiting to drop the palette on your head when you go for the pickup. Extremely niche and significantly less powerful than almost every non-hex perk
    • Crowd Control: Rushed Vaults block windows for a short period. It can block multiple spots, is not limited by range, and has no cool down. THIS is strong.
    • Devour Hope: Rescuing people from hooks while the killer is gone builds stacks. At 3, you're exposed. At 5, you can be killed. Hilariously difficult to keep up before, with Undying, there's a chance that this may actually affect your game, though the killer is using two perks to do it. This is a strong perk, but requires the killer to already be doing very well to get any mileage out of it due to the build-up time.
    • Haunted Ground: A trap that exposes everyone if cleansed. Literally only there to punish survivors for cleansing or to (theoretically) protect other hexes. Exposed lasts 60 seconds, but everyone is alerted, so unless you're very unlucky AND your team is playing foolishly, it's rare to get more than down down out of this, even against solo queues. This effect CAN be strong, but considering it's a one-shot, it almost never is.
    • Huntress' Lullaby: Makes skill checks slightly harder by messing with audio cues. This also has to build up by hooking survivors, and has almost zero effect against experienced players whose muscle memory nails every skill check instantly. It has limited play against new survivors, but you have to be doing VERY well to build up to that point. Very bad.
    • No One Escapes Death: Very Strong, but only in the end game and does not suffer the effects of all other hex totems by not lighting up until it's good to go. Some of those token-based totems could learn from this. Very strong.
    • Retribution: Reveals the auras of survivors who cleanse hex totems (but not dull ones) for 10 seconds. Hilariously weak.
    • Ruin: Gens automatically regress. Very Strong.
    • The Third Seal: Inflicts Blindness on survivors you hit. You'd think this would be strong, but you can still see when a survivor gets downed or hooked. It just shuts off being able to see slugs and still-on-hooks. If you remember where the alert came from, you can find the target easily. Weak perk
    • Thrill of the Hunt: Reduces cleansing speed and increases BP gain. Increases a cleanse from 14 seconds to 18 seconds. Extremely weak.
    • Undying: Saves one of your other hexes from being trashed (and now preserves the tokens on it). Also reveals auras, but only around Dull totems, not hexes. Literally does nothing other than keep another totem up. It's basically a perk tax to try to avoid a bad spawn. Wouldn't be needed if totems were hidden better. Only as strong as the perk it's protecting.

So, that's 3 strong hexes (Crowd Control, Ruin, Noed), 2 situational hexes (Devour, Undying), and 6 worthless hexes (everybody else).

    Lol, fine.

Though I have my own personal opinions on certain perks, let's go with your list.

So there's 5 average and above perks and 6 not so good ones.

That's still half of viable perks that's perfectly usable.

You could literally use 4 perks slots filled with hex perks for that matter.

The problem is that it is true that those certain hex perks are very powerful just like certain survivor perks. And I'm not going to nitpick every single god damn perks that are in the game. Cuz I know for sure that the OP didn't use some underused hex perk for his match.

My point is, regardless of how many viable perks there are, whatever he/she is using is probably going to be some extremely good hex (I'd wager on Ruin or smth) that's probably going to slow the game down for all survivors.

If he/she is willing to use such a perk that would be detrimental for survivor's gameplay, then he/she should also understand that such power comes at a cost which is that it could be turned off by a survivor at any instant without care.

That's nothing to do with the number of hexes that are viable or not.

If he/she is still adamant about using those perks, then he/she should also realize that it's should be their second nature to guard that totem from time to time, since like I mentioned before, only killers can see their hex totems the entire match.

I'd like to see your opinion regarding that.

  • @QwQw said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2099793#Comment_2099793

My point is that totems should be high risk high reward. Right now they high risk low reward because they spawn in the middle of an open field. Not to mention most of them don't even have that strong of an effect anyway.

Your point is that hex's should be easy to find and that it should be the killers responsibility to guard them. Except that's the problem, the killer doesn't have the time to guard totems. They have to juggle patrolling five different gens, they simply do not have time to guard multiple hex's as well, which means it should be the survivors responsibility to find them (since gens go to fast anyways).

Also, calm down. You're turning this into a "Us vs Them" argument when OP's point was that hex's are too easy to find.

My point was that hexes are supposed to be easy to find?

Where in tf did you get that? Please find where I exactly worded my point in that manner.

Here's my point in case you haven't gotten it already:

HEXES ARE SUPPOSED TO BE VULNERABLE.

What's the point for even trying to cleanse them, if hexes are so damn hard to find?

It's like the searching for red glyphs.

They are HIGH RISK & HIGH RETURN.

Some find them in 10 seconds, some may not even find it at all the whole match.

I had Ruin be cleansed in 20 seconds into match and another one with not even a single attempt.

    It's case by case.

It's not whether it should be easy or hard.

It needs to be absolutely vulnerable so that it's high risk high return.

If hexes get too difficult to find, then it'll be low risk high return, which is stupid in my opinion.

  • @GeneralV said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2099779#Comment_2099779

It must be a treasure hunt because killers do not have time to protect totems. If they had, you would see Hex: Thrill of the Hunt every match, which I doubt you do.Β

So just because the killers CHOSE to run hex and just because they have no time to GUARD their totems, the SURVIVORS must run around for a treasure hunt?

    Wut?

    What logic does that make?

Did anybody force you to run a risky Hex totem?

Cuz if they did, please tell me so I can report them for hacking.

  • @QwQw said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2099779#Comment_2099779

You clearly don't play killer if you think they have the time to guard totems. Why do you think no one runs Thrill Of The Hunt?

    So what's your point?

Make Hex totem effects apply with no totems?

You killers ######### and moan making excuses and yet you guys clearly don't get the mechanic of the totems in the first place.

You SHOULD guard the totems. That's your secondary job if you decided to run hex totem perks.

I don't get why it's so hard for you guys to understand.

Ummmm yeah they should be a hunt. I guess we found the survivor main who gets NOED smacked every game lol

Yeah, and I found an entitled killer who wants everything revolving around himself.

Why should hexes be a treasure hunt?

It's your obligation to secure those totems if you chose to play risky tactics. That's why you see the god damn totem the entire time.

Yet you blame the survivors for cleansing what's there?

    Pathetic to say the least.

  • Duh. It's high risk, high return mechanic.

What did you expect? A frickin treasure hunt for survivors?

Hex totems are supposed to be vulnerable.

    90 seconds cleanse? Too bad.

They have the most powerful effects in all of DBD and yet you want to have the cake and eat it too.

Either don't equip Hex totems if you're scared of them being cleansed or just suck it up and think it's bad luck.

  • None so far.

There is no aim assist on Console. Not anymore than there is on PC, at least. Unless you are talking about our beloved auto-aim (which is on every platform), oops I mean, "enhanced animations" that totally don't screw people out of hits.

I would rather the Devs FIX Console gameplay, so that we can enjoy Blight or Nurse or Trickster, to their full extent, rather than limiting themselves. That would be my preferred outcome.

You are asking for big favors from a small company with limited capabilities my friend...

There's always hope so, I wish you console players all the luck (except for those who victimize themselves of course.)

  • @Pulsar said:

Console IS treated worse than PC, that's just factual.

However, I will grant you that OP is intentionally victimizing themselves and I don't particularly like it.

Many of the issues that plague Consoles are on PC, but higher end PC's CAN get rid of many of those problems. There is no such option for Console's.

I disagree, it isn't the Console's limiting Killers. There is no reason that sensitivity should be capped so low on Console's. Other games, like Siege or CoD, have far higher sensitivities. They also run better, despite being leagues more graphically intensive.

The truth of the matter is that, out of the past three Killers, two of them cannot be utilized to their potential on Console, those being Blight and Trickster.

All that being said, I would rather gain you as an ally in our cause than to continue to argue with you. I would love to have the ENTIRE promise addressed, and I would be deeply grateful if you'd stick with us in getting it noticed.

I would take the fight to the devs alongside console players but...

"The truth of the matter is that, out of the past three Killers, two of them cannot be utilized to their potential on Console, those being Blight and Trickster."

So are the devs supposed to design killers based on console players instead of trying out new and innovative things?

Why should your (and others') choice to stick with consoles limit the devs' ambition to make new killers?

And if you have no problem with it, you wouldn't have mentioned this in the first place...

YOU GUYS ALSO GET ASSISTED AIMS TOO

I mean, I can't take you guys seriously at this point.

You seem like you guys want to have the cake and eat it too.

"We are in the same boat"

"Find a better way to play, i.e getting a PC"

    Which is it?

Also, Cold War runs at 45 FPS on my One X. Sea of Thieves never dips below 45 either. Even Battlefield 4, with it's stupid Levolution, doesn't make my game run at the same FPS that DBD does.

I'm upset that BHVR set a goal of 60 FPS on Consoles (and low-end PC's) in March of 2019 and have been radio silent on it since July of 2019. If you are also upset about that, stop arguing with us, and start arguing WITH us, if you catch my meaning.

The person said certain aspects of console feels worse than PC, i.e. specific killers.

I agreed and said it was the limitation of the console system itself. Read the previous post.

The part that we're on the same boat meant that PCs also lacks optimization as much as consoles except for a few things like the aforementioned example.

But according to that person, he/she's sticking with console since the progress will be lost.

That's his/her prerogative I said, which is completely true.

I would fight with console players, but if you guys keep classifying yourselves as "second class" AKA victimizing yourselves like the OP and his initial post, then I'm not going to even put up with it.

... Was that meant for me? You didn't actually respond to what I said; you responded like I said PC is perfect and I expect console to be perfect, too. I didn't imply that at all. I said other console games give players options in their settings to improve gameplay. What about that was wrong? Why can't I even want settings I can adjust for a better experience?

Seriously, I don't have a clue how what I said got that response from you.

Don't tell me not to complain. I want the game to be better. You want the game to be better for PC, too? I never said you couldn't want that, so don't act like I said PC is perfect. I said the devs are not doing as much as they could do to improve their game. If it's something the current people can't do, they need to hire developers with more experience.

I would play on PC if cross-progression were a thing. Let my hours and DLC transfer over and I'll purchase the game on PC and play it there.

My point was directed at console players who kept victimizing themselves.

    It wasn't "you" per say.

What I did mention specifically for you was the part where you wished for better gameplay.

    Everyone wants it.

But that's so universal that it's a waste of time to even mention it.

PCs, consoles, handheld devices all lack optimization. That's just the plain truth.

No need to state the obvious on what is lacking in DBD cuz it's smth that is shared across the board.

Your choice to stay on console just for progress is your own prerogative.

I'd personally suggest moving to PC regardless if you are still annoyed by the state of consoles, cuz it's never going to get better.

Other games give more options for customizing controls. DbD just has sensitivity. That might be fine if all killers were M1 killers, but they're not. There are killer powers that control differently and there are ranged attacks. You're right, controls will never be as great with a controller as with a M+KB, anyone who's played shooters knows that, but those games try to let console players customize the controls to their needs as much as possible. DbD doesn't optimize the responsiveness for console as much as it could, nor does it give players the control they need over their settings.

The devs released the game on console, they have a responsibility to the customers who gave them money to play on console. Because we aren't just players, we're customers, they took our money and said "optimization is coming" but years later it still hasn't come.

    Are you kidding me?

Why do console players act as if PC gets it so much better?

We are on the same boat too. Crap optimization, frequent frame drops, bad latency and hackers for heaven's sake.

We paid for this game too you know and we some times get it worse than you guys, but we don't label ourselves as "second class".

That's just pathetic even for a cheap excuse.

The devs are just incapable of delivering quality gameplay. That's it. Nothing less, nothing more.

You complaining about consoles being less optimized is, like I repeat once more, also on the platforms themselves.

They need constant porting and each updates require the stupid companies to verify & authorize them. That's why the most recent DLC was postponed. Stupid console companies didn't review it yet.

Either accept the truth and stop complaining or find a better way to play, i.e. getting a PC.

  • @TragicSolitude said:

The devs released the game to consoles and promised optimization.

They're not going to give me back my money, so I'd like them to do the optimization that was promised. I don't even expect 60 fps, but the frame drops and terrible controls (all the fun PC killers feel like crap to play as on console) are unacceptable.

Ugh, that's the limitation of playing on console.

Games literally have to be ported from PC to whatever platform you play.

Some codes will mess up the frames and etc.

Also, your point regarding fun killers on PC literally supports my claim.

Console is limiting everything the game could offer. Especially how a killer is designed.

It is no secret that console players have slower reaction time and worse aiming due to the limitations of a controller. Just saying.

There are very likely more players on Xbox, Playstation and Switch than there are on PC, so I'm not sure if you want to go that route.

We are living in a pandemic, people are struggling to pay rent, much less buy a $700 PC, sorry.

You need to understand that this is the entire world not just NA.

DBD is popular in Asia too and I guarantee those people play 90+% on PC than on an Xbox let's say.

Also, you are saying that people expect older console platforms to receive guaranteed 60 FPS while even high-end computers don't run smoothly?

    Get a grip of reality.

If the devs promised 60 FPS, PCs would be the first ones to get it. And since that's not remotely possible, there's no chance consoles will get it anytime soon.

That doesn't mean console players are "second class". It just means the devs aren't ready yet.

    Stop victimizing yourselves.

People like their plattforms, playing with friends, exclusive content so nothing wrong about that.

And i wouldn't say that console players are a niche group in Dead by Daylight.

I would say that they are rather the majority here or at least pretty close to it.

And people deserve good performance regardless of the plattform they play on.Especially when the devs said themself that they want to improve it

The whole reason why they implemented crossplay clearly tells that console players were NOT the majority in the first place...

It's evident that the numbers of console players isn't higher than PC by a long shot just by common sense alone.

Second, even PC version have a hard time with optimization, what makes you think other platforms will?

All games are developed via PCs. They are then ported to consoles.

If they struggle with even keeping up with PC standards, there's no way in hell consoles are going to get any better.

  • Consoles? Do people still use controllers to play games?

PC is far superior in every aspect both reaction-wise and graphics wise.

Also, PC is way more accessible than a console unit, so why on earth would the devs cater towards a niche group of people?

  • The Oni sorta changes his form but yeah I agree to an extent.

Freddy should've gotten a nightmare-only form too IMO.

The problem would be that it'll probably confuse lots of new players if this was implemented... Not to mention the cosmetic nightmare the devs will have to put up with.

  • Nah.

It's like making a new character from a whole different account.

It's new experience again and it sometimes excites me.

  • Blight and Twins could have village-esque maps with Resident Evil 8 vibe to them.

I'm mostly excited for the Trickster's map (if there is any).

A neon light city map would be awesome, cuz anything we have that is remotely close to an industrial map is Gideon and Hawkins.

  • I believe the game will have to be coded completely new for this to happen.

It was made for 1 killer and 4 survivors.

Anything more than that will cause lots of bugs.

  • Anybody hear Yun-Jin's?

She's literally crying the entire time.

  • Why are you acting so entitled?

If you are led up to the point where survivors are 99-ing a gate, then you obviously lost that match.

You trying to force hands of survivors who are clearly better than you at the game makes no sense whatsoever.

Just learn to be a better killer and prevent this from happening in the first place. Sheesh.

  • The problem is that when Nurse, Spirit and Freddy are still dominating the tier list, no killer mains will be satisfied.

Why play a mediocre killer when those three can secure pips and BP?

Sure, you may like them aesthetically and their concepts, but in a competitive game like DBD, they're more prone to revealing their weaknesses than their strengths.

It's like comparing survivors perks like Dead Hard and Calm Spirit.

  • @SirCracken said:

Can I see a comparison between the two?

You can always search on YT.

  • Because the Spirit is one of the most pain in the a$$ killer to ever face. Period.

Freddy can join the ride now that you mention it.

She has one of the best powers in the game and she also has good addons.

Survivors have nightmares versing a spirit simply due to the tiresome match it is to predict her movements and terror radius.

Her groans are quite obnoxious too.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2089626#Comment_2089626

Survivors are going to stick to gens regardless of whether or not the killer brought BBQ. Their only objective is to do gens and escape.

No ######### sherlock, cuz it's their main objective and the only way to win the game... What are you smoking?

What I'm saying is that BBQ encourages survivors to stick more to a gen than to spend time doing smth else cuz it's the only way to counter the reveals.

You could argue lockers are another method, but to survivors they'll rather stay near a gen than a locker which literally gives nothing back in return.

  • @Lord_Tony said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2089607#Comment_2089607

    Why? ######### does that solve?

It's not even an OP perk. BBQ can not stop all 5 gens from being completed in 6 minutes.

Because BBQ forces survivors to stick to a gen.

And with 95%+ of the killers running it, survivors are only going to focus on getting gens done than anything else.

You see how counterproductive the whole thing is?

  • Gideon what?

You mean Gideon "stair" plant? The only thing it has is stairs.

Plus, it has so many walls that it makes my camera go crazy every time I play survivor.

  • Yun Jin ain't that young though...

Lol, whatever makes her look younger I guess!

  • Eh...

I would've rejected such suggestions before, but since we have K-Pop idol as a killer and his producer as survivor, I guess why the heck not.

Okay, we can agree to disagree.....

Yeah true, we probably should stop lol. Honestly though, I enjoyed debating over which girl is better as it’s just all fun and games at the end of the day.

    I'm not annoyed lol.

    But seriously...

    Ya'll need to get laid.

  • @VexTheHex said:

For me, it's the Nancys. As allies they rush over to your gen or to heal you and precede to blow skill checks. They then crouch walk away leaving you with the killer. Once you're hooked, she is there waiting around the corner after sprinting over as they hooked you to be quickly found and injured cause who knew scratch marks were a thing. Don't worry, she'll get you off the hook before she goes down but without BT... so now you're down as well.

As enemies, they flashlight click and try to lead you to the strongest loops. Anywhere else and she's quickly downed. If you kill her or one of her friends, she will spam you in post game chat about how trash you are. Even her own friends keep quiet as she makes a fool of herself and tells you to join her or her's friend's twitch channel so she can berate you more.

At least Nancys are behind a paywall. BHVR get something out of her.

Claudettes are free. They are like ants that don't seem to go away.

There must be breadcrumbs hidden somewhere.

  • @Huge_Bush said:

You are blind or have zero taste if you think Claudette is Ugly. She is the best female survivor, no one else comes close!

She's smart, beautiful, kind, caring, generous, protective and powerful. Killers fear her power and abilities. Not even the entity can reign her in. She participates in the trials for fun, whenever she wants, only to punish evil killers. The entity tried multiple times to eject her, but her mastery of the shadows put her far above anything the entity can accomplish.

    Quite the contrary.

Claudette is mostly cheap, spendable, socially unaware and most importantly deranged.

I'll take Elodie over her any day cuz we all know Elodie is the true African QUEEN we deserve.

(Oh, and Elodie at least has a sense of style.)

  • BHVR is getting too familiar with locked cosmetics nowadays.

It doesn't look like a good sign...
