Devs say they won't ban for you using it, but if EAC bans you for it, they won't help you.

Though that won't matter cause EAC themselves said they won't ban for it either.

That doesn't mean it won't be bannable in the future though.

You can use it, but i'd keep an eye on EAC to see if they announce one day that it's bannable.

I myself never once used it.

It was an unnecessary feature and most just used it to avoid certain people.

No one talked about it cause everyone would assume you use it for that exact purpose.

"I just use it for the ping."

    "Mm hmm, sure you do."

Interesting. Do you happen to know if EAC does suspensions for first timers or do they go straight for the bans?

games dont give “warnings” for being caught using 3rd party software.

you clearly want to cheat and thats embarrassing.

thread reported for discussion of specific cheating software

I want to use it to give me a heads up on toxic killers. I'm not looking for a competitive edge against killers. I simply don't want to play in a game where I get tunneled/face camped and mori'd.

So playing the game as intended is toxic for you? Yikes
  • I think you misunderstood the concept. Usually the victims would be scared of the slasher, but in Dbd it's the other way around and the killet is actually the pressured one
  • Not gonna lie... This would be a good perk, but this is where Prove thyself & Leader come in and probably kick it's ass. Survivors would all probably start using Shroud of Vigo to start together to gen rush.
That would be a good thing and they had to trade in some of their usual crutches

I feel the green (forgot the name) addon -slightly instead of moderate - should be built in then the purple should be green, the blood should be built in and the purple should be made into something nuts like moderately or considerably increase the reappearance speed and duration and increase the frequency of the passive phasing... something actually crazy for an ultra rare like what doc has with irridecent king it does multiple stuff
Katana Tsuba is the add-on name. I wouldn't mind this either but I really think that the Spirit needs a way to correct herself if she is slightly off. If one of these two add-ons become a thing then we might have something special here! :)
I agree shes like on edge of being top tier and even then in her current state shes capable of being top tier she just requires the player to be like disgustingly good to compete with huntress
Compare spiritß bade kit to nurse, I really don't understand how you can even remotely say sth like this

I feel like the spirit player should know when you're passive phasing. A sign that she's passively phasing could be that she twitches her fingers or hands a little to let the spirit player know when she should try to confuse the survivor.

I feel like she should Passively Phase more often and it should last longer since it really doesn't do much, especially when the mind game is timed perfectly as she passively phases. Don't get me wrong, it can give you a cheeky hit but high rank survivors know their mind games lol.

At rank 1 she's doing pretty well, and it really boils down to the mind games. As for something evil check this out a friend and I were testing addons in kyf. This is during either her passive phasing or coming out of stealth I can't remember which.

    But it's spooky as heck.

    his is

Do you mind sharing gameplay such that noobs like me can learn how to play spirit against competent swf?
  • Yes her base kit is way too weak, but unfortunately not all killers are meant to be viable
  • Legit since I've played on playstation this is ALL I get.   EVERY SINGLE MATCH.   Camper after camper and me being the altruistic person I am ill save the person being tunneled/ camped but will never get saved myself, but that's besides the point.   Legit the "drawback" for camping is supposed to be that they're wasting precious time but that doesn't mean anything when most of the teammates are afraid of doing gens! There should be a REAL self-inflicted drawback to camping like other survivors get token based haste depending how long you hang around hooked survivors while not in a chase.   Or it takes longer as you're standing around the sacrifice.  Likewise,  background survivor's that haven't had a "points event" or who hide the whole time could find some penalty.   ike legit I'm just about done with this game cuz it's not fun.   It's bad enough the og killers aren't gonna be free anymore.   I've already spent enough on cosmetics but if this doesn't change that'll be it.

Nope. I don't like it because it doesn't appeal to me to be the villain and it's kinda lonely.

Didn't find it hard at all. When I played both of them I had more trouble getting to that rank as a survivor even tho I played survivor more. I love how people just assume things. Especially the same one that got offended by my posts and keep witch hunting trying to provoke me.

Getting to Rank 1 as Killer is much harder these days than it was in the past. Most of all for us on PS4, Survivors didn’t know what the hell they were doing. Now, they do. I always knew it was just a matter of time. Survivors on PS4 know the Loops, know the maps, know the Gen locations and totem spawns, have all the best perks. Game has changed for us on PS4 Eveline. I invite you to try Killer to Rank 1 again.

Its not hard since piping is still very easy. but it is very frustrating because of the survivor / SWF you have to verse

Wait half a year or maybe a year, then the survivors will really know how to loop

  • @Terrortot said:
Forget it. You will get more points hooking different survivors than tunneling one. What happens is one survivor gets 3 hooked from your tunneling, 3 survivors get massive points, you and the tunneled survivor get barely black pipped...

Hook them and leave.  Only time you should camp the hook is you know someone is near or exit gates are powered

You cant achieve a 4k by camping. (unless low rank)

The strategy is to tunnel the first survivor and then have a chill game with the other 3 to farm BP, assuming they didnt rush gens in the meantime

You either put it to do at least 50% of a gen and keep/lose the toolbox, i don't really care, or you can turn it into Common rarity because it's absolutely trash, hell, you can even remove since is basically useless.
And it's still an Ultra Rare, the hell ? So, here you have it :
** -One Brand New Part can do 50%, the difficult skill check remain as it is, one skill check = 25%, so 2 = 50% of a gen
-If you miss, the BNP is gone as well as the toolbox (assumnig the devs are ok with the 50% and willing to do it)
-If not, One BNP should do 40%, down it to Very Rare category, if you fail the skill check you lose the BNP addon but the toolbox remain**

For those who don't know, the current Brand New Part does 25% progression if you hit the skill checks

It was nerfed for a reason.

Yes, after SWF has been balanced, we can consider QoL changes like that

Granted, I don't know how the logic of DbD works, but as a software developer, I can tell you that its a stupid idea to think that they have to do this AFTER balance changes. QoL stuff can be worked on while they are trying to figure out balance changes, because its HIGHLY likely they are not the same people, so its not a zero-sum situation.

Sure, but guess what happens if you introduce QoL changes for the msot unbalanced gamemode? Well, I will let you figure out that for yourself

This game isn't even a "competitive" game anyway, so be gone with the ranks and just play. Simple.

Agree 100%. They should just leave the ranks and don't factor them in when match making. That way the people who need an excuse for losing can blame rank, and feel all jolly happy when they stomp on lvl 20s.

I've never even noticed, do they a lot awards (BP?) for achieving certain ranks at end of season?

No there are no seasonal rewards

  • @MisterCremaster said:
SWF groups should stay together after the match, and should be able to browse the character menus while waiting for the long ass queue times. I'm sure its technical in nature, since SWF was added AFTER initial release and it was just patched in as best they could, but its very frustrating I can't look around and explore blood webs and items while we wait like solo queue.

You're not supposed to be able to tell someone across the map that you see the killer, or what you're doing in general.

It creates a level of coordination that really hurts the killer side of things, too.

It's part of why people have a problem with survive with friends. As it is, people use 3rd party voice chat.

That's exactly why there is a need to make this issue offical.

SWF with voice com is not going away. There will never be actions against this style of play.

I am fully aware that SWF with voice was never intended and neither do I like this part of the game and in my eyes this is borderline cheating. But it got white-listed by the devs and so a part of the game.

I wish there would be an other option.

If they officially add it as an in game option it will make it super easy for even random groups to communicate, and that would basically be the nail in the coffin for this game.

Killers are players, and players don't want to get stomped constantly by well coordinated teams.

It's practically cheating and no one wants to go against that over the long term.

There is basically nothing in it for the killer to deal with being steamrolled like that, and adding vooce comms as part of the game would just make it worse.

At least as it is now, killers have some chance of running into randoms, or a team that can't communicate because of the extra trouble people have to go through to set up voice comms outside the game.

As of now, there are only 30% or less players that don't use external voice com.
Introduce it officially and balance the game around it.

And that 30 percent is probably what is holding the game together.

Ive been playing a few weeks, and already sigh when i see an swf group. I know what's coming and sometimes i will back out of the lobby to avoid it.

I know if i had to constantly face coordinated teams, I'd walk away from the game. I like playing both sides, and know that the massive advantage chat would give would drive away killer players.
Without killer players there is no game.

Not sure how you balance around that sort of power.
Multiple perks would become useless to boot.

The game would have to be rebuilt from the bottom up.

That 70% thing was from a data survey one year ago. You can be sure that almost every game there is some kind of SWF now.

The onyl thing that is holding the game together is that still, most survivors dont know how to play and how to abuse voice comms (or they dont want to become better)

Yeah, i figured, but i wanted to make a point in that the people not making it too hard on the killer are the ones that are holding the game together.

The game needs to be fun for both sides, or it needs bots/ai slots, or it will die.

Currently I cant have fun as solo survivor because the rank system is so #########. As killer I have to derank in order to have fun.

    Amazing game design

Well, i don't play either side to rank, personally.

Besides, i hear the game gets worse as you rank up. Killers can't find games, and i can't imagine survivors doing much better because they need killers.
And play styles change, or degrade.
I'm ok with not going high rank.

I mean you said it yourself. You have to derank to have fun as a killer.

Usually I avoid the high ranks. During the BP event I ranked up to check the current situation. I versed 4 man genrushers at least half of my games. Even if I can camp for a blackpip or sth, I simply dont consider that fun, so I deranked after the event again

As it is right now the devs implemented SWF as a response to the community. They even whitelisted 3th party programs for the survivors so they can use voice com.
Right now 70% of the games are having SWF groups in any combination in them. Only 30% of the matches are like the game was originally intended.
Why is it so hard to accept that fact and implement it into the game officially?
The devs could redesign the killer role for the voice com and let the rest, who don't want to use voice, play hardcore mode if they want.

Because the game has been balanced around solo play.
If the devs introduced voice comms to the game, then they actually had to rework the game to balance it.

Now we are stuck with unbalanced SWF, that you can lobby dodge if yuo dont like it. What a great design....

Yeah that definitely wouldn't make the game more trash and longer to find a match. Great idea

I do think its a good idea, I also don't care if SWF groups take longer to find a match. I'd rather wait longer for a good match than quickly get into a crappy one.

It would probably actually make the game somewhat challenging for SWF groups, which would probably make them angry.

    I'm fine with that.

The ratio comes naturally from the fact that most people prefer to play with their friends no matter what. We don't need an unbalanced game to accomplish that, just look at what happened to Evolve.

I am pretty sure that if the game would actually be balanced, then killer queues would be insane.

When a survivor vault, the hit-box of the killer is over broken... i mean, even if the survivor vaulted, if i attack, i'll hit him ( so he bleed or he's dawn ) but my weapon animation don't touch him ( don't know if i explain good or not x_x" sorry english isn't my mother language ) it very recently i see that, i don't know if the developper wanted this or it's just a bug ? What you pepole survivors and killers are thinking about it ?

It is intentional that you can hit after the vault animation has finished. This is due to the fact that its a design choice that killers can hit through the window and hit a survivor standing on the other side, close to the window.

The weapon animation doesnt need to touch him, this is not how hits are registered, its just some optical thing basically

Considering the amount of issues this game currently has I don't think this is likely to be top priority.

Different departments. The person that designed that horrible diaper will never smash a bug.

Adapt old cosmetic => no money
Create new cosmetic => fresh money

    Its all about priorities

If survivors increase the dc rate they fall into the bannable zone

That is a myth, even if you DC every 2nd game, you are still fine

    Math is hard.

50% Dc rate > 40% Dc rate limit

    Any source for those numbers?
Devs never released actual numbers as far as I know.

MCote sted it was 40% in a dev stream

That was long ago and caused uproar in the community, they were pretty fast to declare this as invalid and from the official side we have no indication at all what this magical bann rate is (assuming it exists at all)

  • Do you have a video of this? Not sure what you understand about "lagg" (that would be a ping issue?)

@DeadByFlashlight Then she loses to a good killer who's at low rank and they whine and cry about it most probably.. Personally I love making survivors salty now lol. Especially when I destroy a SWF group. I even made it so the first thing survivors see when they view my profile is Translation of common survivor complaints "Camper/Tunneller" "The killer won and I don't like it!" Sure they complain to me about that but I couldn't care less lol. It only shows how childish they are sometimes

This is my profile description at the moment:

Dead by Daylight is not a game about a killer hunting survivors. It is a zoo keeper sim. You can play an angry zoo keeper or one of 4 monkeys trying to destroy all the zoo equipment. The protagonists of the game are the killers. The horrible antagonists are the survivors.

    Rules of the zoo:
Use DS or abuse a lightsabre and the zoo keeper will stay at your monkey cage to make sure you dont escape the zoo.

Do you mind sharing yours? Its about time to switch mine

Yeah, both are annoying. Though camping has a draw back of no map pressure. Looping has no draw backs at all and is pure profit for Survivors. #feelsbadman

    @SovererignKing

U can either "camp"" from distance with certain killers or camp when the gates are powered, in which case you don't need the map pressure.

Oh I thought were talking about the real camping and not the survivors definition of camping

    @DeadByFlashlight
I don't complain when a killer is nearby because survivors are swarming around me, i blame the survivors, especially when i'm running kindred

It's even worse, when they don't do anything.
Had a match where the killer camped me. 2 swf players concentrated on a single gen and the last survivor ran in circles on the other end of the map, while the killer was holding my hand.

I always suicide on hook if that is the case.
There is no point in buying them time if they dont do anythign anyway^^

@DeadByFlashlight This is just the sad truth of this community. Survivors expect killers to play how the survivors want so they can get easy wins.. most likely because some streamer they watched doesn't like the stuff either.. or they really just refuse to accept that the killer is another person and not some A.I or something like that.

    Take jendenise for example.
She deranks down to rank 12ish before stream such that she has "nice" matches.
Then during the game, terms like "baby killer" are thrown around while she bullies the low rank killer with her SWF. But god damn if the killer starts camping or tunneling, he was a BAD killer because he felt the need to use those strategies.

Streams like this teach the survivor the "survivor way", but as a killer you will learn to bath in the salt anyway at some point and life threats will deflect from your toxicity shield too

I did not claim that this is not the case, but its a fact that you are still not triggering that automatic system with a 50% rate. I have tested this myself in the past and I never even got a warning that I DCed too much.
