I assume the effects won't stack if you heal before the effects are over.Yes, it does not stack. It's like a one token perk where you use a token to grant the effect, and you get it back when the effect wears off. It's only meant to work on one survivor at a time.
@brokedownpalace said:
Sounds super cool but I think it should only be one use and you need to activate it when healing to use it. I think unlimited use is too powerful and would be extremely frustrating for the killer. Especially when it's end game, you know the survivor who used the perk will be sitting at the exit gate teabagging. Then perhaps a condition to gain a new token, like unhooking a survivor? That would make sure it is very limited, especially since you can only have one token at a time. Additionally, entering the Exit Gates would cause the protection to wear off after 5 seconds (giving them enough time to enter and cross the barrier), since you shouldn't need protection at that point.

I'm hoping to get feedback to refine it and think of a similar killer perk before I put it in the Wishlist category. I don't have time right now to think of the killer perk, but everyone is welcome to make suggestions.

@PoppaSquat said:
@CoolAKn fair point, do you think the trolling potential could be remedied by changing its activation conditions to a once a match usage?
They could always add a killer counter perk like Magnetism that pulls the survivor closer to you (could actually be useful counter to stuff like SB and DH).
I still think the idea has merit, but my initial proposal did not account for survivors who would abuse the perk to just stall out gamesI don't know how much I can help, the idea is a bit too similar to Dead Hard and Sprint Burst and almost achieve the same result. I would think an ability like this would need to be physically or mentally exhaustive, as you gave a couple of ideas like causes Exhaustion and disabling aura reading. I'm not sure about once a match, or just have a hefty condition to activate it. I'll probably need to think more on it, but for the time being, I don't know how to make something like this unique and balance around it.

"In the heat of the moment you focus all your psychic abilities in a desperate burst in an attempt to escape your pursuer. While injured you can use the activate ability button to create a pushing force that moves the killer 6 meters back, and you 6 meters forward. Using Telekinetic Burst causes exhaustion effect for 60 seconds, and disables all aura reading abilities for 20 seconds"The idea behind this perk is extremely situation, but it can still be used for normal chases similar to how Dead hard is used, except you don't gain temporary invulnerability, but instead create up to a 12 meter gap between you and the killer. Used in the best situations you could activate the ability nearby ledges and use it to either propel yourself away from the killer over a gap, or to push the killer off the ledge wasting their time and momentarily breaking the chase (just imagine being in the forge and pushing the killer off the sky bridge while you remain safely secured at the top of all of those stairs).
I guess you could also use it to push a killer backward into a non-dropped pallet where a teammate is ready for the drop, but pulling something like that off would take a high amount of coordination.
I just had one more thought on how this could be useful as I was about to wrap this post up, but what if you used it to save a teammate from being put on a hook for just long enough for them to break out of the killers grasp.Thoughts and ideas?
Quite frankly, this just seems like a perk that would be used to troll or harass the killer. As a solo survivor, I don't want them getting any more aggressive towards survivors than they need to be.

I'll go after dull totems if I'm not doing anything else at the moment. I will especially do dull totems if Thrill of the Hunt is active, because each dull totem gone lets the hex ones be cleansed faster.

I like them, I just think they need to have less luck involved. You shouldn't be able to take it off after just one box.A thought I had was to double the amount of Jigsaw boxes available and assign a key when trapped. That way, only 1 of the boxes will get the trap off. Instead of it being RNG or luck with every box, they just have to find the 1 box with their key.

I haven't used Stridor, but I think it should be a good hearing perk that increases the volume of noises and slightly extends the range of hearing. It could go along the lines of:
You are sensitive to the noises around you. You can hear Survivor noises and actions 50% louder and can hear them from 4/8/12 meters further. [If this is not enough, reduces the volume of the overall chase music by 50%]
This would amplify the noises of:
- breathing
- grunting in pain
- grunting while cleansing a totem
- grunting from long falls
- movement through grass
- movement on wet terrain
- movement on hard floor
- vaulting over a window or a pallet
- healing themselves or others
- sabotaging a hook
- unhooking a survivor
- searching through chests
- repairing a generator
- opening the Exit Gates
- noises while cleansing a totem
- NOT crows cawing because that should be for Spies In The Shadows.
Survivor Perks
- Iron Will 1 & 2 will reduce the amount of grunts that are heard, while Iron Will 3 eliminates the grunts completely (but you can still hear what they may be doing).
- No Mither reduces the amount of grunts that are heard.
- Pharmacy - reduces the noise range that searching chests can be heard from
- Quick & Quiet - eliminates the fast action noise, but won't quiet any other actions
- Technician - reduces the noise range that repairing generators can be heard from
- Tenacity - faster crawling, but better chances to cause rustling of the grass
- Urban Evasion - faster crouching, but better chances to cause rustling of the grass

I think @Nickenzie had the best idea for a DS rework. Keep it as it is, but create a condition to earn it's use.

I wouldn't recommend Distressing on Myers. You could also try Monitor and Abuse, which would eliminate his terror radius when not in a chase, and give him a wider field of view, which makes stalking easier.

My idea is the game would analyze which role is needed to fill up lobbies, and have the Play As Survivor or Play As Killer buttons glow in the main menu to indicate which one is needed. If there are too many lobbies for survivors to fill, then Play As Survivor would glow; if there are not enough lobbies for survivors to fill, then Play As Killer would glow.

@Fabijean @ToolboxMotley That's the solution: the survivor with No Mither shall begin the trial healthily, but, if wounded, cannot be healed and only survivors can see their state.Do you all agree?
I think the perk should still work as it is, just A: Remove the Broken HUD icon from the killer's view and B: add the 10-15 second bleed-out timer OR grant 50% blood points. If the devs wanted to get clever, they would give No Mither users a sub-healthy state animation, where they appear to be healthy to the untrained eye, but you can notice the occasional stomach grab and limping. This would keep them in the injured state (and maintain synergy with the injured perks), but the killers would have a harder time picking them out of a crowd. This would also remove the injured music (which I haven't noticed, but apparently it bothers others). When the bleed-out timer is initiated, then they fully appear injured.
-
@cTrix said:
I agree No Mither needs a significant buff but I don't think a borrowed time effect is the best way to do it.
Would it work? Maybe. Would it make the perk interesting enough to use? No. You are still at a disadvantage over not running it.As it stands, Unbreakable is what No Mither was supposed to be. A perk that counters slugging. No Mither has no justification for existing anymore and thus has been abandoned. Not deleted from the game simply because there's no reason to bother.
Ask yourself, what possible benefit would you find tempting in order to accept permanent injured state, but what would not be as powerful as making you use no mither more than 40% of the time.
Bill was released before David was, so Unbreakable existed when No Mither was introduced.
-
All No Mither needs is either a 10 second bleed out timer or a 50% blood point boost, but not both. Either one would make this perk much more worthwhile.
-
I'd play killer more if the lobbies didn't take too long to fill up. Thankfully, with this event, there's a much better chance to actually play killer and not waste so much time in lobbies.
-
I think the generator explosion prevention should be 50% at all tiers. The only other buff it could use is when the explosion is prevented, it would also reduce the regression penalty by 3/4/5%. A consequence could be slightly smaller success zones or reduced chances of a skill check appearing.

Here's my what-if post for Jason. https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/16434/what-if-friday-the-13th#latest
Some adjustments I would make is there would be 5 shrines that cause the Blindness status effect to all survivors inside the range of the shrine. Each shrine would have enough range to cover the whole map (they would need to be percentage based, so they can be just as effective on large maps as they are on small maps without being overpowering), with obvious overlap. The biggest aspect of his power would be to create the sense of loneliness.
It's almost 8am, so I don't have the mental capacity to re-adjust the perk ideas for the time being.

I mentioned this is another thread, but I recently bought Leatherface (because he was cheap). I haven't invested any BPs in him yet, but have played a fair few games.Now... I suck with this fake-faced spud. No doubt. So a lot of these games have gone to the end game with no one dead. Sad times. One thing I have noticed, is that those teabagging morons in the gates tend to GTFO pretty sharpish when a killer turns up who can down all four of them in one go.
Yeah, you still get the odd few who run off into the map instead of leaving, but maybe we need a similar mechanism so that all killers can down the entire group inside the gates.
If your put chainsaws at the Exit Gates, then maybe one survivor can grab it for an epic duel to the death. Each killer has 100 hp, and the chainsaw does 20 damage. Holding the chainsaw greatly reduces their movement speed. Or...they can troll and down other survivors.

I just experienced the shortest game of DBD in my life.
I had just harvested one Putrid-Thingy and i heard The Shape (Michael Myers) reaching his tier one ability. I see another coming running with The Shape in tow, she takes a hit but moves on. I run in as a distraction and he goes for me. Great, i was ready to take the hit and run away.
But he just straight up catches and murders me on the spot. Not downing me, just Stab And Kill animation and i'm out.
Is he supposed to be able to do that?
It seemed a bit weird and OP imo.
He was only at the first Tier of Evil Within and he didn't have any of associated insta-kill Perks on, and the Exposed effect hadn't triggered yet. There is an add-on that allows him to kill survivors without downing them, but that's only at Tier III Evil Within.
The timing doesn't make sense though. There is no normal way to get EWIII so quickly, unless all 4 survivors are together when he's stalking, and his other add-on was one where it feeds evil faster.

There's really nothing you can do about the actions of other people. I try to avoid being toxic at all costs (you weren't toxic, but the other person was a bit, wishing harm upon you or others around you). Just ignore them and move on. Being toxic only breeds toxic behavior that eventually spills out onto others who aren't toxic.
Based on your description, you were being fair. You gave everyone time to harvest, and you found survivors that weren't harvesting, so they were playing the game normally. This event merely provides survivors something else to do, but it doesn't change how the game is played. I can't speak for their mentality, but do they expect to escape just because it's an event, and they think the killer will always play nice?
On the other hand, with survivors divebombing the flowers instead of doing gens, it gets to where gens aren't being done at all, so it's hardly bad on them to work on something that will get them blood points.

I'd say just hide the killer's perks and add-ons until the last survivor escapes or is killed. It just needs to be hidden to eliminate ghosting for survivors still in the trial.
-
I think it's supposed to be related to how many people are playing survivor (80%) vs playing killer (20%). If the number of players trying to play killer is greater than 20% of the total active player base, they're going to have a harder time filling up a lobby because there are more slots for survivors to fill than there are survivors playing. On the flip side, if less than 20% of the total active player base is playing killer, their lobbies are going to fill up quickly, due to fewer slots for survivors to fill up, and consequently, survivors will have a harder time finding lobbies.

I would like it. Have they ever given a reason why they dont? (Other than too much HUD ruins the immersion/atmosphere...which I don't believe would be too much btw)One large factor in its exclusion is that some killers would use it to tunnel survivors that are dead on hook to secure a kill. If it was visible only to survivors, it would help in rescue efforts, like "the person that's dead on hook is being chased, I'll try to take the heat off of them," or "I'm at the Exit Gate, and that person just got downed across the map and picked up. Since they are dead on hook, there's no point in trying to rescue them."
I do understand @pemberley point that it would only be useful for killers who DON'T intend to kill survivors, like I have. Once during the BBQ Event, there were 2 Claudettes. There were 3 event hooks, and I know I hooked 2 Claudettes, and I had downed one of them to put them on the third hook, when I found out that she was the only one I hooked.

Trapper - Traps

Nurse - ??? Maybe a different looking Blink trail?
Shape - Licensed
Hag - Traps (different symbols?)
Doctor - Shock Therapy glove??
Huntress - Throwing Hatchets
Cannibal - Licensed
Nightmare - Licensed
Pig - Licensed
Clown - Bottles (perhaps even cloud color>?)
Spirit - ??? -
Unfortunately, Ranked is the only game mode available, so there is no way to avoid it. This is perhaps one of the biggest gripes most people have with the game.

None of this seems arbitrary to you? While you are not made to play a queer character yourself, you are still being made to interact with queer representations of different characters. In the same way it is an individuals choice to customize their character for a queer representation, it is also the individuals choice whether or not to play an explicitly queer character. If they don't want to, they don't have to.Should we also have the option of changing race and gender? That is still one (of a few) points that I've brought up that hasn't been properly addressed. If the representation of race and gender is okay, then the representation of sexuality must also be okay. If the representation of queerness is "forced" than the representation of race and gender is also forced. If the representation of queerness requires compromise in the form of an "opt out" than so too does race and gender.
Let me ask you now, how would you make a survivor as obviously gay as them being female? How would you make a survivor as obviously bisexual as they are black?
Female survivors are visually smaller than male survivors. Darker skinned survivors blend in better in darker surroundings than their lighter skinned companions. Gay survivors are more/less ??? than straight survivors.
-
If it is cosmetics, then it's the individual player's choice to make their character LGBTQ. They made the effort to purchase the clothing, and people who don't want it simply won't buy it. The main point should be the characters are what you make them. Instead of making one person trans for everyone, someone could instead equip cosmetics to make them trans for themselves. On the one side, the characters remain the same, their sexuality is a mystery. On the other side, the characters can be customized to be LGBTQ by the player. I don't see many people on here actually opposed to having an LGBTQ character, but most people just want their inclusion to be meaningful.
-
Serious thought - you desire a character you can play and relate to (LGBTQ+), while a majority of the people don't want a character like that just to have one. What about a middle-ground option - cosmetics?
It could be free, it could be paid, depending on the scenario. The money spent on the DLC (if paid) could go towards a charity that seeks to help members of the LGBTQ community (however, this will most likely be Steam only, since Sony and Microsoft want a portion of the profits). This DLC would obviously exclude all licensed characters (Michael, Laurie, Freddy, Quentin, Tapp, Amanda, Leatherface, and Bill).
The killers might end up just having a basic item, something like a rainbow colored item (like a Wraith Head where the shawl or poncho would look like a rainbow flag), or some killers could have a rainbow flag patch on their shoulders. Weapons would be excluded, I think, because very few people would look at that sort of detail (the weapons could be engraved with an LGBTQ logo if there is one). Primarily head and/or body pieces.
Each survivor could have an outfit that could show: drag, effeminate clothing, masculine clothing, anything else that would indicate this character could be in the LGBTQ community, but nothing confirmed. Each survivor would also have a bonus top that is a basic shirt that either has the rainbow flag on it, or says "pride."
I don't have too much knowledge of the LGBTQ community, but the outfits would need to at least show solidarity towards those in the community, right? I hope those in the community don't find this disingenuous, I am trying to find a serious middle-ground to try to quell the tension in this thread.
-
I know in the recent patch, the swamp maps were made smaller (because they were also the largest maps in the game), but I don't know of any major changes made to the cornfield maps.

Actually it's kinda interesting idea, but I'd vote for one stack off BT effect. An refreshing BT would be too much with current game time. After all it unlocks a potent ability to stand up all by yourself, the fact that hardly any Killer would leave them be to do so is...well, obvious choice.Yeah, I was more figuring just one absorbed hit, but offered up the invincibility idea since absorbing one hit is basically just like starting out healthy, but not as good. The only real benefits would be the self-revival and lack of blood pools, while the negatives are still only technically needing one hit to go down, and moaning like a porn star. But, even just one hit is better than what it is now, and makes a lot of sense with the self-revival, in my eyes.
I don't know about the invincibility effect. It might be a bit too much.
An idea would have the bleed out timer have a cool down, where it only triggers once every x seconds. It's stated that it takes 30 seconds to pick yourself up without the use of other perks (not sure if the recent patch affects that), so a 45 second cool down would work. Alternately, there would just be a 15 second cool down that starts when the player is back to the injured state, to prevent players from waiting to recover until they get the effect back.
The bleed out timer doesn't even need to be that long, just long enough for them to get away before they collapse. Borrowed Time Tier 1 provides a 15 second bleed out timer, which should be enough. If the killer has Deerstalker, it would be just the same as if there was no bleed out timer, because the killer would see them.
IF the bleed out timer proves to be OP, then there could be an added measure where one-hit downs could ignore the bleed out timer. The biggest issue with the perk is that the killer takes too much advantage of the perk's weakness, and the user rarely gets to use it's biggest benefit (the ability to recover by yourself). That's a huge issue with the hex perks, which also need to be worked on.

@Aari_Piggy66 A couple of people want an LGBTQ character they can play and relate to, but more people are opposed to the idea of forced representation.
I mean, I play David King. He's rich and muscular, but also gets drunk and violent. I am none of those. Personality-wise, I cannot relate to David King at all. I play him because I have a good beard and Dwight just doesn't cut it (even though we both wear glasses, I am not bald). For me (and most people), survivors are purely cosmetic, so it doesn't matter at all who I choose to play.

Play survivor?
Some blend of both?Kinda curious about how you plan on filling vials for the event.
Play killer to fill my vials up since you have no one to rob you of your blight. Killers have a easy objective to fill up their vials and to make it easier, I'm gonna use iron grasp and agitation.
I used Iron Grasp and Agitation in the last event as well, just to make sure they make it to the hook. Once the objective is done, I'll let the survivors fool around until they escape (or if they are willing to be sacrificed).
-
I intend to play killer if possible. Between the last event and this one, I bought the Leatherface DLC, so I want to try out BBQ and Chili for the first time (I know how it works), not to mention trying out every other killer (because I've only ever played Trapper). For survivors, I only have blood point offerings remaining on Dwight (I've used all the other ones), then move on to Meg, etc. As killer, I am done when I have gotten the event objective completed. As survivor, I will be wary of the killer in case they want to treat this like a regular match. If the killer does want to fool around with the survivors, it won't matter to me what the outcome of the match is.
-
Yes, but OoO makes you the most vulnerable at the start of the match. SS doesn't kick in until one survivor dies. It should be noted, that even with OoO, the survivor can't see Freddy (unless they are in the Dream World) or Michael (as long as he's in Tier 1), but they can still see the survivor.
-
In a sense, it does make OoO more powerful, because OoO provides a maximum range that the survivor and killer can see each other's auras. The normal minimum range depends on the terror radius. Sole Survivor provides a minimum range that the killer can see the survivor.
The wiki needs to be updated a bit, because on OoO's page, it states it's impossible to completely shroud yourself from the killer with Sole Survivor, while on SS's page, it states it is possible to completely shroud yourself.
At Tier 3, the maximum range for OoO is 72 meters if you are the obsession. At Tier 3, the minimum range for SS is 28 meters per fallen ally, which with 3 survivors dead, that's 84 meters. Based on values, SS is supposed to completely eliminate the risk of using OoO.
-
@Khalednazari @Milo I looked on the wiki page for Sloppy Butcher, and it said 25%, so that's what I went with.
-
Default Healing Time: 16 Seconds
Self-Care (50% speed): +16 seconds; 32 seconds
Dying Light (25% speed) +8 seconds (with self-care); 40 seconds
Sloppy Butcher (25% speed): +8 seconds (with self-care); 48 seconds
Coulrophobia (50% speed) +16 seconds (with self-care); 64 seconds
Thanatophobia, 3 survivors injured (12% speed) +3.84 seconds (with self-care); 67.84 secondsNot including potential stacking values. For instance, Coulrophobia would probably factor 50% after all the other effects. In that case, it would be 77.76 seconds.
-
@DocOctober If they do decide to add a character of a varying sexuality, I would much rather them be a fitting addition, rather than a token addition. So, if you haven't already, you can add me to the people that are against adding one for the sake of having one.
I take my example from the show Buffy the Vampire Slayer to compare the introduction of 2 characters, both female lovers of Willow, one of Buffy's friends. The first was Tara. She was casually introduced into the show, and she slowly became a big part of it. She fit well with the dynamics of the show (sadly, she was killed off). Compared to the second, Kennedy. She just seemed like the show "had" to replace Tara quickly, and her introduction felt forced. Quite frankly, she was rather annoying, and somewhat brought the quality of the show down when she became part of it. The ending was enjoyable, but I think it would have been better without her.
I would much rather have DBD have a Tara-like introduction as opposed to a Kennedy-like introduction.

Perhaps an additional cosmetic change, is the perk carrier would stretch out their hands towards the crows in a calming gesture as they are walking by them.

If you are playing Freddy and use Red Paint Brush with Monitor & Abuse, he will just about have no terror radius.
For Michael, you can't gain evil from stalking downed survivors, but the add-on should still reveal them while stalking.
