I thought DS expired after 60 seconds or did I misread. It won't be available after first hook?

It doesn't say it expires after 60 seconds of your first hook. I think they must clarify this

  • End game or open gates hooks will be free escapes always now. No one is going to use DS after their first hook.

    I agree completely with 10, it's f_cking deafening

Worst part is not knowing you're getting that stupid map. Otherwise I'd take my headphones off.

I love the game, the concept, the characters, the adrenaline, but... for some reason I can’t sit down and play two games in a row ever since the event was about to be over.

    AYUDAAAAAAA

    Español???

I play almost all killers on rotation, I have more success with Pig than with Hillbilly

Yeah, I'm on the "try all and make your opinion" camp, so I play almost all of the killers too.

  • I once broke at least 20 pallets in shelter woods. I've played vs p3 urban squadettes there. 110% ms killers don't have it easy either. I wouldn't say it's a bad map at all. At least I get proper framerate.

  • @LCGaster said:

I finally reached R1 with a 4k playing as Amanda

That's cool, I like Piggy too.

  • I wouldn't focus on "tier lists" or what are people saying about this or that killer. Personally, I find a lot of killers viable at R1, without establishing a hierarchy between them. It's just a matter of willing to put some hours into them. Map layouts play a bigger role in the outcome of a match, IMO.

I think of DBD as boxing, as in styles make fights. Here, playstyles make matches. Some people happen to be good with Spirit, mindgames and all. But there are people wrecking the place as Freddy, Wraith and LF, too.

  • @Eveline said:

If the game was so unbalanced why would survivors dc?

I may know at least 10 "reasons" survivors dc, but I'll just name the ones coming first to my mind. Deranking, item duplicating, item conservation, escaping an imminent mori, intentionally screwing teammates over, inability to handle being slugged, camped or tunneled, boredom, intentionally giving hatch to last survivor, immaturity, saltiness, etc.

    And real life stuff, occasionally.

  • @AntiJelly said:

Would it not though? The one thing the devs haven't addressed is the community. Something like a rep system would do something about it. Any sort of change is good at this point.

That is, if you still believe in people and good faith. I just think of the truckloads of false labels people would get just because of the saltiness of immature losing players.

I think the "give props" button is enough, without specifying why did I choose to give props to certain player. Maybe BHVR can give stars, medals, or ribbons, some kind of little pat on the back to those players getting the most props. But even in that case, I would be against showing it to the rest of the players.

  • I would focus on fixing the see-through walls of corn maps instead. Although corn is hard to see through, it adds different gameplay and it contrasts with the mindless looping you find in the corn jungle gyms.

  • I don't think this would bring any benefit to the game or the community. There's more than enough labelling and name calling right now.

  • The lack of killers is real.

    Hey guys,
I currently play on PS4 and am on the market for some new headphones and wanted to ask my community which headphones they use that seem to work not only for regular gameplay (I play a lot of spirit so i need some good audio) but i like to stream games alot and my previous headset always gave me an echo on my gameplay audio and it got really annoying. If you guys have any headphones you're currently using that you recommend, drop them below. Direct links are appreciated as well

    Thanks guys!

HyperX Cloud 2. Great USB headset and I notice a real difference using it as opposed to 3.5 ones plugged to the controller.

  • Don't wait on reaching R1 as any other killer to start learning her. You'll get stomped and not learn a thing. You won't even have enough time during matches to practice your blinks.

  • Let's end this mess once and for all, and make ranking based on the amount of hours logged in. I would propose brackets like 0 - 20 hrs, 20 - 50, 50 - 100, 100 - 200, 200 - 400, 400 - 800 and 800 +, for example.

No more deranking, no more smurfing. You're placed in a pool with people playing the game for the same amount of time (roughly). Your fault if you didn't learn or got skills while pouring 200 hrs into the game.

Maybe even have two rankings for each account, one for killer, one for survivor. I don't know if that would be possible.

  • With the right build and addons, he's an animal. Try carburator tuning + grease as addons. For perks go for Enduring + Spirit Fury + Sloppy butcher + Nurse's calling. I manage to do well with him at R1.

  • @sulaiman said:
gens are now better on most maps, scratch marks and blood are next to not existend.

Yeah I had to learn to play without them at all. I can only see them on Gideon meat plant.

  • If you create a forum account and your first post is not bitching about SWF, you've failed at life.

  • I didn't prestige any of my killers and went for the full perk repertory instead and still got hundreds (literally) of really nice add-ons and offerings. Besides, I like the available cosmetics way more than the prestige ones. Leatherface is the only exception, his P3 looks great.

  • @Master said:

Honestly, the cosmetics are meh for huntres and ace anyway.

Boar head for Huntress coupled with the thick winter coat looks great IMO. I like the weapon too.

    Bump

Brighter gen, hook and totem auras have improved the overall issue for me since 2.4. Do you still have severe trouble? I had to tweak my screen settings a bit, too. Maybe you can try that for a change.

  • @Gorgonia said:

If KYF had a bp reward, even if minimum, people would play it more. Not only as a training mode.

But the argument is about playing for fun. SWF is fun, playing killer in KYF is fun, so no need for BP, am I right?

  • Trigger discipline. Now that's what really turns me on about her.

  • @Shad03 said:

True, I didn't do the math. But while I did make a mistake, you've also assumed that it will ever get to that point. Some people (me) forget that lanterns exist/can't find a lantern. So 3-4 per hook and 7-8 per destruction? I dunno. Math is not my forte.

Yeah I don't even bother with the lanterns now. Not worth the loss of pressure, and I can't even find the damn things. Maybe those 7 - 8 points would encourage looking for them.

  • @Tsulan said:

Killer who is playing alone is supposed to play perfectly. Survivors don't even have to touch a gen and still get full points if they are alive while a gen is repaired.

    That's the big problem.
Survivors can be lazy and get full points.

You're right about this, no way around it. But the way I deal with it is thinking I get to play more matches in an hour, compared to playing as a survivor. In the end though, survivors still get more points, but maybe half the playtime.

  • @Shad03 said:

Doesn't have to be much. Hooks could be five points each, destruction could be 10/15. Survivors still would get the better deal but killers wouldn't feel the sting as badly.

I think that would be too much actually. 5 points a hook would result in 60 points total considering 12 hooks. Plus 1 or 2 lanterns, an additional 10 or 20 points? Killer lobby sim 2019

  • @Might_Oakk said:
It's not constantly bad. Just certain times ie. gaining BL can drop frames sometimes

Just certain times like, when just about to land a hit, when you're zeroing in with the chainsaw as Billy, when you're blinking, when the stupid Bloodlust VFX kicks in, when a survivor is juking, etc. All of them, trivial and unimportant times...

  • As much as it sucks, they can not boost killer event points that much because we would end in a situation similar to the Hallowed blight one, everyone playing killer lobby sim.

  • Casual mode! Open - for everyone KYF! All these SWF teams saying they only want to have fun need casual mode!

  • Some tips...

    Ready up asap.
This. Too many times survivors are fooling around switching characters, outfits, items, back and forth, or stay in a 700 ping lobby hoping for some magic to happen.

Aren't they openly complaining about queues? Ready up asap before joining and game on! If ping is over 300, leave right away, don't wait until 10 secs are left. You bug the lobby for the other players.
  • Option 1 would lead to terrible semi-infinite looping. Option 2 sounds more reasonable.
  • LMAO there are some real good ones there

@Shad03 @Condorloco_26 Ahh, I understand now. It really was because I was on mobile. I’ll just go without the font color because I use an iPhone and it’s so painful to see all these words scrunched up on the Desktop version. I can’t use the forums efficiently when I’m in desktop version. Mobile is way better. Much faster and everything is placed out neatly

    Thank y’all anyways. :)

It is a hassle, yes. I only type in color when in a laptop.

Try without quotations. And if you're on a mobile device, you'll have to switch to desktop version.

It's stressing when you spend money and not getting your money worth.

Happened to me with Conan exiles. My bad for not doing pre-buy research properly. I just happened to be a fan from way back and got tremendously disappointed.

  • @fcc2014 said:

Myself and @chemical_reject bought it. I played Claire A and Leon B. Beat it last weekend. I plan to play Leon A and Claire B this weekend. Story is much darker than the original, the gameplay is great more unexpected moments and a better fleshed out story in my opinion. Just FYI conserve as much ammo as possible only make Magnum and Acid rounds.

Good to know. Wallet, here we go again.

I've been a Trapper "main" since the last reset and I find it very interesting that despite being a very middle tier killer, unlike literally every other killer in the game he has no "bad maps". Maps that would be considered bad for other killers are neutral or even good for him just because he can shut down the strong loops. For example, I hate Grim Pantry as most killers, but for Trapper you can make the main building, shack, and the tiny house VERY unsafe and negate the advantages the map normally brings for survivors. TBH the map I have the most trouble with as Trapper is Shelter Woods only because there's no real "great" spot to set traps. It's shack or jungle gyms. Still very neutral for him.

Even the Game where his traps are easily seen can be a neutral map for him. Put a trap in the doorway of the bathroom and anyone that you chase through the hole is cornered. Put a trap at the top of the steps to the "pig shredder" drop point and you will almost always catch someone. Put traps in doorways to blood room or freezer and you will probably catch people. Plus he can also just put traps at pallets like normal.

Yeah I've been playing him a lot lately and managed to do well. Gave him spirit fury, enduring and brutal strength, and turn into a chase machine when I'm not trapping the place to oblivion. Agree on swamp maps. Trapped 9 times in Pale Rose once.

If you have the money go get RE2. Well worth it and lots of fun.

Interesting. So the hype is real, then? Played the original one back and forth 20 years ago,

even going as far as completing it on all 4 sides without a single mid-game save, doing the Hunk scenario and just fell short on the Tofu challenge.

  • Console Nurse, maybe? Are there any consistently good ones at R1? Asking for real, I'm curious to know.

  • @thesuicidefox said:

me as a survivor, strode's house is extremely good to looping windows with BL.

I love using Strode Key as survivor. This map is the bane of most killers and BL opens up SO many loops at the buildings.

But as killer I absolutely cannot stand this map 🤣 Mainly because it creates serious frame rate issues for me, but also because it sucks for a lot of killers. However I found that it's actually a GOOD map for Trapper because he is the only one that can shut down the house loops with traps, on top of making it literally IMPOSSIBLE to go out onto the awnings.

It stands at the top for having the most framerate issues. Playing Doc here is atrocious. Huntress gets short ended too. I agree with you on Trapper, though. Had a couple of good games there some time ago, trapping stairs and usual hiding places.

I still wouldn't burn the offering playing as him though, as I find The Game a better map for Trapper. All those dropzones...

  • @Ihatelife said:

I meant as a killer burning that offering. I don't know, maybe a good Hag could benefit from that?

Now that you all mention Padded Jaws, what happens if you pair it with Honing Stone? Which one takes priority?

Interesting question. Will try that too...

  • @EntityDispleased said:

It's actually a fun add on when paired with the one that suppresses your radius and red stain for 6 seconds. It mostly works on meme builds but it's still viable for a mind-gamey build. It's definitely not the worst though.

Will try that one. Never came to. my mind

  • Has anyone ever burned a Strode key offering? Or a Yamaoka one?

  • Smoking splinter comes with the added benefit of being the most expensive too!

  • @EntityDispleased said:
Definitely smoking splinter but other than that it's probably going to be the shroud of separation. It's like shooting yourself in the foot before running a marathon.

As for add ons it just has to be speed limiter. It turns your m2 ability into an m1 with extra steps. With padded jaws your ability still fulfills its purpose but it just makes it easier for survivors if they do escape before you get them.

You're so right. It's like asking to get gen rushed please

  • I'm starting to notice a pattern here lmao

1 … 20 21 22 23 24 … 31
