I said that with a positive intention.

Find some other activity for now, if gaming is stressing you out. Gaming is supposed to be fun.

Tough one. Considering poor framerate, it has to be either Haddonfield, Springwood, or Ormond.

Pretty sure I know what side of the dbd community you are.Sad that your lord and savior got banned on Ps4 as well?
I'm on the "take it or leave it" side of DBD man. I play as a killer 100% of the time unless there's an easy daily for survivor, such as "break 2 hooks", or a friend invites me to his party.
Long ago I quit asking to fix this or that which I don't like, regarding whatever the other team does. I only ask for longer matches and proper framerate now. And won't even bother asking who got banned, I'm too old to care about people I don't interact with.
-
I would really like to see the number of players on each side. Especially on consoles.
But I already know that disclosing that information would completely break whatever balance there is now.
I guess they'll have to implement a system similar to F13 in the future. Everyone neutral to playing either side will help to balance things out.
-
PVP, buddy. Everyone will play as they want in order to achieve whatever goal they have in mind.
-
Well, you can always just ignore whatever someone tells you over a videogame chat.
Chances are, that person leads such a sorry ass life that trash talking in a game is the only way to get attention. Don't give it to him.

More like Crybabying by Daylight

Meanwhile, you can enjoy chasing all the Firefly Claudettes you weren't able to see before.

I don't understand why LF gets so much hate. I manage to play him successfully at R1. Meaning most of the time I'm having fun with him, and not needing to camp.
Of course there are some horrendous maps for him, but I wouldn't say he's terrible. He's a dangerous guy, with carburator tuning, grease and coupling an aura reading perk with spirit fury and enduring, he's fine IMO.
I just realized that's the only feasible build I've found on him LMAO. Yes he needs some tweaks.
-
Designwise the game itself promotes, or at least allows, some kind of gameplay around hooks. Otherwise, hooked survivors would only respawn after "n" seconds in a random location of the map, or an impenetrable (for killer) wall would form around the hooked guy. But then again, people would complain about killers standing outside the wall...
-
This is great!

Oh yeah this aswell. Someone tried to hit midrange hatchets on the new map? Unless the survivors have only 1 brain cell it's nearly impossible to hit them, so many objects they can turn to cover
Coupled with the framerate, that map is terrible to play on too. Not only with Huntress, though...
-
You're right, all those are still problems and I agree the Game needs more lockers too. I guess the only option we have with these issues is being very vocal until they fix them.
-
Let's hope we get more Huntress players' support on this.

After a mindful analysis.

OP @Vietfox or anyone suffering from the same rate of lobbydodging, add me on PS4 and I'll play vs you on KYF whenever online/possible. PS4 tag same as name here.

Yes please revert it to the old one! Angry Myers FTW. Or angry anyone, for that matter.

Fact is that the emblem system has made ranking up ridiculously easy. In other games we dont have this because there is only one side "winning" and gaining elo.
And no, you can even rank up with 0 kills, its just a joke (and you can blackpip with 4k, the irony.....)
Yeah I've experienced some unexplainable emblem stuff. Man do we need a whole ranking system rework.

Thanks for listening. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on this.
PS4 player here. Nurse is busted on consoles. That leaves Billy as probably the only killer able to consistently compete with 4 man squads at R1 (in some maps). I play Myers, Trapper, LF, Huntress, Spirit, Clown, Piggy, even some Wraith here and there. It's all fun and games until 4 people pop at the same time in my lobby. At that point it's Billy Time.
The other option is dodging, but that's just a chicken move.

I was looking for the hatch with the last survivor on my shoulder, she wiggled out and was downed 4 times after that she got a hookWhy would you go so out of your way to give a hatch? I think it would be easier to just take the nearest option available, given that the survivor is already on your shoulder.

Read what the OP is asking. That is what is being discussed. People shouldn't derail the conversation into some nonsense.
The post above says enough. OP doesn't like changes to lobbies cause they can't dodge as easily anymore. Wants to dodge SWF cause of the limited amount of time they have available to play each day.
I don't want the Devs to cater to those styles of players. Those that dodge the lobbies cause they can't handle the game like many many other do.
Maybe bring your perk discussion to another thread where they are actually being discussed.
I'm stating the opinion I have about your post. I'm saying you can not turn a blind eye to all the other signs out there, meaning that the game is already 80% catered to casual and new player needs. IMO the other 20% would mean adding a casual mode in which anyone can participate, as opposed to KYF where you need other 4 friends to play a full match.
I can understand why people wouldn't like to face 4 man squads. Turning a blind eye to that, won't help at all either. But balance discussions aside, OP is asking for the choice of facing, or not facing, said 4man squads. Casual mode could help solve his problem.
-
@TheBean said:
luls> So.... Basically the Devs need to cater around casual players is what you are saying?
Because all the safety nets and crutch perks in the game are designed around Top-Skill play, right?

Bloodpoints are not tied to emblemsYeah I know. But points are supposed to reward performance, and emblems too, I suppose. What I find curious is the huge difference between both of the scenarios I mentioned.

@George_Soros said:
These are just ideas, there might be better ways. But my main point is, the success of a killer is much more objectively measured by how many kills they have. If it leads to a more tryhard playstyle, that's for the better. Kills are what we care the most about when playing killer, and it would be definitely better than some patronizing, "play-nicey" approach forced on us.
I agree with your opinion on emblems being broken most of the time:
Playing as Billy, I've scored a lot of chainsaw downs without the game even registering the start of a chase mechanic, resulting in bronze or silver emblems, even after killing all 4 survivors and going through all 12 hooks. What am I supposed to do, hit them with the hammer instead, and let them loop me for 5 gens? And the game will reward me with a higher emblem for that? Same happens with M&A Myers and aTrapper that actually traps.
Breaking chases in order to hit a 2nd or 3rd survivor, will also mean you "lost" the chase with the first guy... Anyway...
In the end, I agree with you on caring more about the kill count. Bloodpoints matter in a distant second place. Emblems and pips = whatever.
-
Fix the weak-ass killers first! I would gladly trade one new content chapter for a health/balance/rework one.
That said, the devs have stated that the door is open for Jason. So maybe one day...

I changed Entamaphobia. The perk is now called Slasher.
I also changed Determined a bit, I cleaned up the description and changed the values to 40/45/50% instead of 30/40/50%. The cooldown is the same along with the other 'tip'.Determined looks great now! I think Chris is in a fine state.
i don't want to annoy you, I like the name "Slasher" and the fact that it's an obsession perk. The thing is, the benefit of using it is not enough to use a perk slot, given that attack speed is already quite fast I don't think anyone would notice a difference in how quick you swing a weapon.
I would instead suggest you to turn it into a successful attack cooldown reduction (20/25/30%), meaning the wiping of the weapon would be faster. Jason would be really hard to lose once in a chase and it would be a nice perk for a chaser build
However, many obsession perks give a benefit to the survivor too, so I would suggest he/she gets 100% additional Boldness BP. What do you think about it?

Thats how it should work. Problem is, rankings in this game is not about ability, but about time investment. My wife who is utterly horrible at killer has in a month made it to rank 5. If she can rank up, any one can.
Somehow I find your statement a bit exaggerated. If anyone was truly horrible, he/she wouldn't ever pip. I tell you that because even when hooking everybody once, you can still depip. Getting to Rank 5 means she was getting at least 2ks consistently, 6-9 hooks every game. That would sound to me as a solid killer.

@yes said:
Thank you. I know my response sounds very plain but I'm thankful for your feedback.
I'll change up Entamaphobia and Determined, as I noticed Entamaphobia DOES seem like Blood Warden, just a buffed-up version of it. I'll take your suggestion into consideration.
As for Determined, I'll change it so that after finishing a generator, your next heal, chest search, cleanse, hook rescue, or opening a gate action is increased by 30/40/50% for the next 90 seconds. After an action is completed, the timer runs out and has a cooldown of 15 seconds so you can't complete a generator that's 99'd and get the 90-second boost again.
Anyway, thank you for your ideas!

I guess it takes some dedication but it's simple to make a chapter/paragraph suggestion xD
How about a nasty Hindered penalty for all survivors left for entamophobia, once the gates are powered...
New determined sounds great! It'll be even better than We'll make it.

Reducing the ranks of the rank system doesnt help, the devs already tried this by effectively removing ranks 20-15 from the pool and the only thing that has causes were absurd queue times for beginners.
If you dont allow the majority of the community (rank 1 is a joke) to drop below 5, then I dont wanna be stuck on the lower ranks....... I imagine waiting times ~1 hour
I haven't ever experienced unbearable lobby times at R1 killer, with the notable exception of the first week of the hallowed blight event. Other than that, I've always had 2 minute lobbies at the most, even on double bloodpoint days. Could all be a region-based problem?

Now that the matchmaking went back to normal, I'm totally against depiping.Maybe once we get dedicated servers we get different modes.
We need 3 types of game modes:
- Casual: less punishing for both sides. More hook stages, gens, camp save zones around the hook, more rewarding to hit&down survivors than to kill them, etc.
- Ranked: harder to pip than now. More ranks like R6, longer seasons, end of season rewards.
- Hardcore: no UI, no scratch marks, no terror radius, no aura reading, no survivor status information for both sides, etc.
Hardcore is a great idea and one I would really like to see added to the game eventually.
-
@Jesya said:
People will just depip before reaching the rank threshold to prevent that from happening. There needs to be an incentive for people to stay in their ranks so they don't depip to either a) get "better" lobbies with more variety or b) smurf inexperienced killers or survivors
Opening matchmaking up like you suggested would definitely help solve the problem though. I also think there should be bonus bloodpoints given to red ranks or rank 1's for being at that level as a way to incentivize people to stay at those ranks.
A ranking based reward system is needed, I agree. Be that BP, shards, certain cosmetics, I don't know. There's so much that could be done about it. There's also the Devotion issue. Right now it means absolutely nothing. Sigh.

That's a great idea.
They could also create skill brackets based on how often you reach Rank 1 and then put players together that have similar Rank 1 experience.
Even in Rank 1 there is a huge skill gap between lower and higher skilled players. Players like me that reach Rank 1 literally every season get matched together with players that JUST managed to reach Rank 1 - obviously this creates an uneven playground and even as Killer I must admit that it's tiresome. I don't like stomping players with next to no effort and only on very rare occasions I finally get stomped by actually skilled survivors.
Yes I've made a couple of posts asking for a meaningful ranking system based on skills and stats, for example what's your % of success losing a killer in a chase, how many safe unhooks you've made, what's your kill %, your hooking% etc.
That could be the base to balance the game on: meaningful ranks grouped in brackets. I imagine low rank brackets being more simple and forgiving for new survivors, and adding secondary objectives and difficult skill checks for high ranks, as an example.
But that sounds as a huge rework, and I don't think they would commit the resources needed.
-
I would love to have Jason in the game.
And I also think you did a great job thinking about this and writing all this up. That's some dedication right there.
There are a couple of things I would suggest changing though, for now:
Entamaphobia, as you describe it, won't let crawling survivors leave the trial. I think this would lead to serious griefing, as in, I could down one or two guys and just leave them there to bleed out to annoy them. And I find it too similar to Blood Warden and / or Remember me. Maybe this perk can be reworked and make them have a penalty to crawling speed, or something like that, but still able to leave.
Determined could also be an annoyance, wasting your exhaustion that could be used in a better scenario instead. I would change it so it activates on demand. But then it would be just plain old Sprint burst... So I think this perk should be reworked so it gives instead a bonus to other actions, like healing an injured teammate, searching a chest, etc. right after finishing the gen.
Overall, nice ideas. Adding Jason would be really great IMO, and Meg would get some serious competition for the runner archetype.

I didn't bring those up because that's not what this thread is about. Though I'm typically against anything that rewards failure.
You're right, this thread is about a particular hook that may or may not help killers. I'm sorry but something just jumped when I read your post. Peace
-
@Peanits said:
I'm okay with it going, honestly. I didn't really feel like it added anything, it just gave people a safety net when they misjudged their distance to the basement. With the way it measures distance to the basement now (top of stairs, rather than center of the basement) you should have a deadzone around the basement anyway.I frequently agree with the opinions you post, but I find this one a little biased. What happens to all the other safety nets in the game? i.e. the ones working against killers? Shouldn't they also go?
-
I think that once you hit R1 at any role, you shouldn't be allowed to derank past R5, not even at reset, save for maybe not logging in months. You hit R6, you won't derank past R10, and so on. After that, I would suggest to open the matchmaking gates to include said five - by - five ranking brackets, so longer queues wouldn't be a thing to worry about.
-
So it really goes both ways for survivors too.Might_Oakk said:I always get stuck on it when I'm playing survivor since I'm looking back to watch the killer. Annoying

Sorry to hear that, mate. I think you're missing facing diverse competition and playstyles as a result.Mc_Harty said:@Condorloco_26 said:
That's all I need to know, now I see why you have those opinions.I think the player pool over there is much smaller, resulting in longer queues and facing the same people over and over. The ones ranking up might be no different than the ones with less spare time to play.
I mean, I guess you don't even face Asian players at all, which would be even closer than European or American players, distance wise.
We do face a couple of Koreans with decent ping, but everywhere else from Asia completely [BAD WORD] my net.
Hopefully more people in your region are drawn to the game soon. -
