Yeah i'm on ps4. I also use it with the Hag.Perhaps the region has to do with it, then? North America here.

Powering both gates would be another free escape for the last survivor just like we have now, that would be a pointless change.
Yeah, I know. But how about the other change, kicking a survivor's butt? That wouldn't be pointless.
-
@Peanits said:
That would essentially just give the survivor a guaranteed escape. You can already do that now by hitting the survivor, or if you are the survivor, by powering generators once you figure out where the hatch is. If the killer goes to your generator after you power it, you just slip out the hatch. If they don't, you just keep powering generators and go for a gate, they can't guard the hatch and both gates at once.
Yes that's the intention. I mean, the hatch is already 95% (rough guess) a free exit anyway as you've mentioned, but at least there won't be any more face to face heavy squatting. Man give killers the chance of kicking the survivor's butt into the hatch at least.

Really? I never got salt from survivors for using the 3 gen strategy.Really. With Billy, Doc and Huntress. Are you on PS4? If you are, I'm quite surprised you're not getting flamed for that.
-
@Peanits said:
I don't think you'll find many people who will tell you that the hatch is great, but let's just explore the alternative for a second.So you close the hatch. Now what?
The survivor needs to power up to three generators as the killer patrols them. You can very easily patrol an entire map in 80 seconds (the time it takes for that one survivor to fix a generator), and if you hear that a generator has progressed, you'll know the survivor is around. For the survivor, touching a generator is suicide. It's a "come kill me" alarm. In a normal game, this is no big deal, you get chased, other people keep fixing generators and then maybe you get saved. When you're the last survivor, that's it, that's game over.
So naturally they would wait for the perfect opportunity, where they can magically completely fix a generator before the killer can return, except that opportunity never comes. If they attempt to fix a generator, they're dead. Queue the hide and seek world championship. They have no reason to try to escape because trying to escape is actually trying to die faster. They wouldn't be griefing either because by definition they are just trying to win.
I'm totally down for an end-game rework, but closing the hatch alone would not quite work. Even if it powers the gates and allows the survivors to work on either one, it would be pretty much the same situation. Some gates spawn just a couple tiles away from each other, making them incredibly easy to patrol. On some occasions, they even spawn in eye shot of each other, so you could literally stand in front of one and stare at the other. If the survivor dares to touch them, they get a red "come kill me" light on them too.
TL;DR: It's great on paper, but it wouldn't quite work in practice. That is why the hatch change didn't go through.
How about powering the gates automatically when there's only 1 guy left? At least there'll be 3 options to escape and we won't get the stupid standoff thing.

Been playing for some time now, but I still don't know, so I'll ask: Do whispers trigger with a crawling or hooked survivor? What about lockers?
@Condorloco_26
Yeah it triggers with hooked survivors and on the dying stateGood to know. Thanks for answering.

Yeah it was too long to read, in that case run whispers.
That survivor might think you are using the other survivor as a bait, so i wouldn't say they are being toxic.Been playing for some time now, but I still don't know, so I'll ask: Do whispers trigger with a crawling or hooked survivor? What about lockers?

The killer gets stunned for doing his job. Think about that. Just think about it. You lose all momentum based on a [BAD WORD] decision a survivor made before the game even starts. Its so stupid.I love this lie that "nobody uses it anymore". Wish I had those mythical games. There will often be 3 people running it in my games. Very rare I get a game without DS.
That's why you leave them in the ground. But of course, they have unbreakable. But they'll waste their time, not yours.

@ReneAensland said:
What's the 3 Gen Strat?
Identify the 3 closest (or easiest to defend) gens, and let people work on the other ones. At the end, you'll have much less ground to cover when patrolling/looking for people.

Rockstar keeps track of how many hot dogs I've eaten in their games. Why can't I know how many Dwights I've grabbed off lockers?

They're hilarious. I've been playing Spirit and I've gotten non......let's put it this way. Mother Daughter Ring, non stop usage for all my matches in the past 2 days.
Mother Daughter Ring>Firecrackers.My bloodwebs are nothing to write home about. Did you prestige her? I didn't prestige any of my killers, instead going for the full perk arsenal. Maybe I'm getting shafted because of that, now.

lmao... this thread is hilarious tbh. firecrackers are fun for me on either side... I can't count the number of times I've used them against survivors.fake a blind moment, watch them hide 3 feet away, smack them. lol. these aren't that hard to avoid... I'm not usually one to throw this nonsense around... but quit whining and git gud.
That's what I did after getting hit with those in the first match. Fake them, hit them, slug them 4, since it looked like everybody was bringing the thing (which they did). But they didn't seem to like my way of countering them. That's why I asked what are killers getting in exchange for an item.

By it's very definition it is supposed to help the killer find survivors! What you suggested isn't a terrible idea for a perk. It would pair quite well with a buffed version of surveillance. But again, way off on the direction that a perk called surveillance should be.

Build a wall around hooked survivors. The wall only works against killers. Better yet, make hooked guys disappear as soon as they're hanged and respawn "n" seconds later at an unknown location. Bam. Got rid of camping AND tunneling in one stroke. And give everyone BP.

The only types of players that camp (from the start) camping near end game I think is reasonable in most peoples eyes.- Just doing it to annoy a player.
- Are just bad players.
The whole BBQ excuse is ridiculous, what is it, 40 metres? That's pretty huge, anyone passing through a 40 metre radius and not showing up is honestly the pettiest excuse for camping honestly.
I run BBQ and it's mostly for the points because half the time I forget to even look around, especially as huntress because I'm searching lockers for more hatchets.
Get good people, more practice means you wont have to camp as much!
I find reloading before hooking beneficial.

Well explained, was going to write the same. Nothing to add here, just that some people are really crybabies and whine about every single thing which is fun to use (goes on both sides btw, a lot of survivors are really whiny manchilds aswell)
So getting a no-skill insta-another chance is your idea of having fun, cool. Because, you know, at R1 firecrackers obviously are only used when the killer is stuck in an animation, namely picking survivors up. Well this thread was started bc I was getting flamed for leaving all 4 on the ground, which is my idea of fun too.

The firecracker is a one time use and you have to drop it at the right time, it’s no different from a regular flashlight except you can only use it one time. Plus it takes a second for you to drop it.In your bloodweb, inside the golden presents, there’s a good chance it’ll give you Ebony Mori’s. I got 8 of them in a short span of levels.
Stop trying to find something to complain about.
First 3 matches yesterday, 4 firecrackers. And a bunch of instaheals too. There's no way it's similar to using a flashlight, where the survivor has to position himself in front of the killer and point it at the right height. But firecrackers? These guys were dropping the things from all angles, and still getting results.
The thing is, after I started slugging everyone in every match, people started complaining for being an uNfUn TrAsH BaBy KiLleR.
I've always said, if it's in the game - it's game. So to counter them, slugging looks like the best solution. I was just asking if killers got anything similar in the bloodwebs. So far, zero ebony mories for me, at least 20 matches played ~ around 700,000 bp dumped.

I'm struggling following scratch marks now also on PS4 that combined with the sound and the occasional rounds as killer where i can't swing my weapon have taken me from playing killer. The auras being brighter helps. It is a shame the engine update broke so much stuff again.
The first few games after patching I was really happy to finally be able to see auras, but yeah, so many things are broken right now that it almost becomes unplayable. Unenjoyable, at least. Hopefully the fixes come soon.

There has to be something that SWF can't abuse. I don't think extra perks or increased speed is gonna do much when gens get done in 3 minutes tops.
Yeah you're right, I agree that's the main issue, and lately I've come to senses and only hope for longer matches. The idea of additional and meaningful objectives has been thrown around for some time now, and we even had the halloween event planned around that, but sadly it hasn't materialized yet.
-
@Doc_W__HOLLIDAY said:
Or just buff solos and killers to be SWF level? That would be even betterImpossible. Solos will never be at the same level as SWF, no matter what. And SWF-strong killers will always wreck solo survivors. The only time when I think something could be done is strictly killer vs 4-man SWF. Maybe activating killers' extra perk slots, maybe giving killers a bonus to movement and action speeds, things like that, only active for the trial in course.
-
I've learned to accept that SWF is not going anywhere and won't get nerfed in any way, ever. In fact, SWF might be just what's keeping this game alive, numbers-wise. Whenever the devs have talked about balance issues, they've only mentioned solo vs. SWF, not even putting killers in the same sentence.
So, getting at least the BP bonus that OP is proposing would be nice.

these new map changes sometimes make the game extremely dark or extremely light I think its the moon when it changes it completley, changes how dark it is which is such a big change its the difference from living and dieingBasements and underground house levels in both Haddonfield and Springwood are too dark I agree, but did you mean the whole maps being dark? Could it be a bug or something affecting some consoles? So far I haven't experienced a crash or any other terrible bugs that many people are reporting, and I'm on a PS4 slim.

@Warlock_2020 said:
I concur. It is a struggle to play killer with colorblindness. I don't see blood trails unless I'm indoors. Scratch marks are a real pain. The auras are a joke. I often have to stop and really look in order to see where the gens are. Aura reading perks are all but useless for me too.That said, I still play it and can 3-4k most times. It is just a headache. I have to play like a T-Rex. Look for movement, and then anticipate where they go.
Yeah I still can't follow bloodtrails or tracks, except on indoor maps, but at least the new aura brightness helped me a lot. Did you notice the change in auras?
-
@ShyN3ko said:
Why should someone lvl up Sloppy butcher?
I mean rly, why?It increases the frequency at which the injured survivor will bleed and leave bloodtrails. Upgrade it if you think it will help you with tracking.
-
I agree with Blueberry's and Crizpen's posts. Killers are the tools of The Entity and have one objective only. There's a reason they're not called taggers, point-farmers, entertainers or delayers.
This is an M rated horror game. I don't think there should be room for all this "every kid should get a medal or else they'll throw a tantrum". Immature kids shouldn't be playing this, to begin with.
-
In my opinion, Killer gameplay no longer suffers from a handicap with these new aura brightness (save for the new snow map). How are my fellow colorblind friends doing?
-
@TheLegendDyl4n1 said:
i havent gotten the new map yet but they look great. maybe they could brighten the auras on the new snow map a little bit to combat how dark it is with the snow
Yes, I think that would be the right thing to do. Played at all the other maps except Yamaoka's and they all look good. Aura-wise at least. Framerate is really bad though.
-
"The Tagger", and the catchphrase would be "Now you're IT". No, not that IT.

@Zagrid said:
This mentality wont work. I've waited a good 3 months for 3 things. New killer, Freddy rework, DS nerf. If these devs just toss this killer to the side like, oh well can't win them all. That would be the most insulting thing they could do besides making another legion next year.
Whose mentality, mine or BHVR's? There's no way I'm paying (or grinding) for this, coming from a guy that has paid full price for all previous killers. Yes, even paid for D.A.R.N.
-
Guys, just live with it. DS is untouchable. Freddy will get pimped 3x. Hell, Bubba will get a rework before anyone touches DS.
-
The thing is, nobody HAS to pay or grind for the stuff. I get what you guys are saying, and agree completely, but the "Killer" is just terrible anyway. Why would you want to unlock him? Just don't. There are several pretty decent killers in the game already.
Let this huge cloud of fetid gas dissipate and wait for the next chapter.
