  • I don't know man, it really looks like Legion was designed for new players only, from both sides. Both killers and survivors will have somewhat a chance at "success" and "fun" as survs won't go down like flies (as usually happens at ranks 15 - 20) and killers will eventually get 2 or 3k's just because there will be a lot of hiding and fooling around involved, and much longer games as a result.

  • Just wait a couple of hours. A lot of people just got home and are updating the game right now.

  • @Doultime said:
How is ps4 with the new updated engine and the brigther auras?

It actually looks great! In my opinion, at least in darker maps like the swamp, macmillan's and crotus prenn, the auras look much brighter and I didn't struggle at all finding hooks, gens, bbqs and even totems. It feels good, man. I didn't notice a huge difference on Coldwind though, but I only got a single chance in that map and the 3 survivors that spawned just dc'ed real quick.

I have yet to play on Gideon's and Lery's, let's see how that rolls.

The only map where I kinda struggled was curiously the new snow map... for some reason the auras don't look as bright or solid as in the other ones.

What do you guys think? How do things look from a survivor perspective? Hooked friends, crawling ones?

Even if you managed to pull off the 4%, the killer would jstu immediately hook you again. Whats the point?

The point will be asking for invincibility after they pull the 4% (or deliverance) in order to get away.

do you really think you need even more second chances?
    you lost, deal w it

I know, I play as a killer. I'm just predicting survivors' next move.
  • @Rebel_Raven said:

Killers are also supernaturally strong, so a physical fight would probably be about as suicidal.

Not the sorry-ass non-threatening scrawny weakling known as "The Legion". Pfffft

  • Yes, remove the names of all the people in the lobby. That way, survivors can not team up in voice chat with randos at the last moment.

Survivors themselves will later ask to get the change reverted.

  • Legion is a 110% movement speed character. Whatever advantage a smaller hitbox would provide, would get negated by that factor.

Besides, it's not all about hitboxes. While you're correct in your original statement, consider too that survivors accelerate faster than killers when changing directions (devs stated that in a stream some time ago). That's why I find smaller loops - especially those around big trees - even more powerful. It would take like 8 or 9 turns to land a hit in those with a 110% ms killer. Killers actually have more chances to cut distance in longer loops, with more straight lines to run in.

  • Or nerf Myres all you want. But leave Myers alone.

  • @Malakir said:
Welcome to DbD, a game like any other that you need to learn to play before screaming to nerf stuff

Since this must be your first online game look it up any other online game, to master it you need to spend time on it

    100%

  • No. Non-viable weak killers are the ones completely broken.

  • I don't think it's fun pinning the tail on the donkey in a game about killing. Legion should be called a Tagger, not a Killer. And also, (s)he looks weak, undersized, underfed, non-threatening and sports a boy scout knife. How is that sorry individual going to intimidate Tapp, David, even Jake?

    I genuinely dislike this killer.

  • @DwightsLifeMatters said:

Yeah I know, it's just the potentional we have now. But doesn't have already some games crossplay?

Yes there is at least one example, even after numerous negatives from Sony, Fortnite has now cross console play. It had first PC-xbox compatibility, then PS4-PC. I don't like that game but I downloaded it and played with a couple of Xbox friends (I'm on a PS4) just to see how it ran, and it did just fine.

  • I don't really understand some people's relationship with things like "likes, lols, awesomes" etc in a forum. Who cares? Are they giving out cookies? Are they making decisions by counting upvotes? What really counts in my opinion is the insight or thought put into the actual posts.

  • No point in taking away the ONLY scary aspect out of a "horror" game. Myers has counterplay, be it stealth, awareness, looping, and taking advantage of his non-optimal map presence.

  • @Crizpen said:

If I were to change one thing about him, it’d be how silly he looks running around. I mean really, he’s almost on tip toes.

That's how he ran in the movie though! - the original one - I think the artists/designers scored an ace by capturing that movement with near perfection.

  • + 1 to the answers already posted

  • @KatFever78 said:

Exactly. And yes, I'm a she...lol It's sad that I have to write a novel to explain why I said GG so as not to offend anyone. 🙄

I think it's cool having female players in the community, and being kind is a good thing too.

  • @Killigma said:
I have found "qq" is easier than "gg"

    What does that mean?

  • @DemonDaddy said:
God no, please not the nurfs.
Seriously though, nurse and Billy are the only hardmode we get. I'd like to keep some competency required to win in this game.

And a chance at winning, as a killer.

  • I honestly think that what you are suggesting would lead to exploits that would completely break whatever balance the game may have at its current state. A precarious one to begin with.

  • @purebalance said:

Camping is already frowned upon by the devs so stop saying my own rules.

Are they taking back what they've said before, as in "camping is a strategy too"? And as long as the mechanics of the game allow it, it's game. May not be the best strategy or the most efficient one, but a valid one too, under certain circumstances.

In my opinion, the only real "rules" every player must follow are the ones concerning the bannable offenses. But anyone can choose to think and play however they see fit.

  • @ekto said:

Yeahh, you're right. Honestly, the ranking system could use some more looking at.

I think they will address this and other points/pips/ranking/emblem issues some time soon.

  • Dedicated servers today, colorblind options tomorrow.

    Edit: Hopefully

  • OP says GG meaning good game and suddenly is responsible for how the receiver will interpret the message? Come on guys! He, or She (most probably) is actually being a kind player or trying at least. What's the problem with that? It's the reader's responsibility to understand that as a Good Game or as a Git Gud. And if you seriously want to know, just ask directly.

  • @thesuicidefox said:
@Condorloco_26 OHHH that makes sense yes. They probably also do that thing where they enter a room and yell CLEAR but IDK what it is in Spanish.

That would be "Despejado" or "Libre", depending on who you're playing with.

  • @thesuicidefox said:

I'm guessing that's a Ghost Recon reference? Unless you mean swatting like a streamer or something. That I usually attribute to Russians. LOL

No, just meant playing like a SWAT team. Coordination, communication, aggression, marksmanship wise. LMAO

  • @thesuicidefox said:

I have Xbox not PS, but I could imagine. Again I'm not bashing Mexicans, just making a point that they will SWAT all game every game. These EU guys should give it a shot if they want to see real try harding.

    Here, fixed it for you.

  • @redsopine01 said:

Maby but when you combine noed with the power of bloodwarden on a last hook the game changes from no kills to woop dat add on all 4

I understand what you're saying, but at this point, not cleansing all totems when playing against a freddy or a wraith is just an irresponsibility :p

  • No I won't. I just don't like the idea at all. I have bought all the other killers though. But I'm not drawn into playing this one. I just consider him a non-threat at all. Not scary. Even the looks yell "weak" in my opinion.

I already said this on many threads but, I think at least a couple of survivors would be able to manhandle this guy (or gal, whatever) and give him a nasty beating. Tapp and David at least, could do that if they wanted.

And I feel no need to play tag with virtual people I don't know.

  • @thesuicidefox said:

If you wanna talk tryhards, you should try playing people from Mexico. I invite you to play some Gears of War sometimes. I live on the east coast and still get rooms full of people from Mexico and South America. And boy do they sweat!

PS. No insults to Mexicans or anything. But this is really a thing on Gears. The game is insanely popular down there.

Hey there ESE! We must win at something! And you should try Ghost Recon: Future Soldier on PS3, to see just how tryhard a tryhard can get.

  • @thesuicidefox said:

So wait, are you one of those Freddy's that just sits by the hook and sleeps people when they save, then tunnels the guy that got saved? Bravo, you are an amazing killer. Wow. So much skill. I bet you think NOED is require on him too. SMH

I play Freddy too and I don't camp, or use NOED (except one build that's all end game perks), or tunnel (unless I use Dying Light). Honestly even though he's the weakest killer in the game, he is still not a bad killer. That's more on the player.

Anyone can play however he/she wants. You also agree on that, as stating that under certain circumstances X or Y are valid too, so why the finger pointing/head shaking? Freddy player in question may or may not (we certainly don't know) consider sitting by a hook sleeping people and equipping NOED just as valid as your X or Y.

  • And even making smart decisions like breaking chases can influence the emblem negatively. So, why care about it in the first place. Most of the times, if you did everything else right, you still double pip. In case pipping matters to you.

  • @SenzuDuck said:
I love when people say things like "The BB&C change forces me to camp" Or the "Borrowed time change makes me tunnel/camp".

You're probably already playing this way anyway, you just want further reasons to do so.

I wouldn't say anyone is forced to do anything. But in the same sentence, I would say no one is forced to not do something either.

  • @purebalance said:

Pallet looping, flashlight saving, hook-diving, bodyblocking, D-striking, gen-rushing, and tunneling aren't even close to the same as camping. Tunneling I'd even omit since it's close to camping in that killers will still chase you even if you're healed just because even if there's an injured person right there.

Well if you don't like those particular actions, don't perform them. Just don't expect anyone else to follow your own rules, when the game itself allows said actions.

Personally, I don't like showing bad manners in any way, not during the match and certainly not after the match. That's why I don't do it. But there are lots of people that like those things. So be it, I can choose to ignore them or block them. Big deal. Most of the times those BM backfire and they just make jackasses of themselves, anyways.

  • Teabagging, clickety-clicking and smacking people on hooks are actions that take away time from the person choosing to do them. Though within the mechanics of the game, they're akin to go AFK for the length of said action.

Camping, tunneling, gen-rushing, D-striking, pallet-looping, hook-diving, bodyblocking, flashlight-saving, and many more frowned upon actions, are all within the mechanics of the game, and sometimes, strategies that may lead to a positive outcome for the players performing them.

The only actions that I would qualify as out of bounds would be holding the game hostage by refusing to take the hatch or exit gates and bodyblocking a survivor in a corner with no further action from the killer. Thus they're bannable offenses and you still can disconnect to get out of there.

    Anything else is game.

  • @Hail_to_the_King said:
Wake Up, Mending, and Snap Out of It should be considered healing actions.

    Ship has sailed.

  • Anyone can and will, play however they want, as long as the mechanics in the game allow it. I don't see the need of calling anyone names for using this or that strategy or gameplan, perks or add-ons. Everything and anything in the game, is game.

  • Hey, just play however you want. That's it.

  • @megdonalds said:
I never play NC with doc and i never needed it. His tracking abilities are good enough, he never needed that minor change 1 year ago anyways. Stop being hypocritical about things that are pretty much irrelevant.

I agree on not needing NC on Doc to find survivors. But how about Coulrophobia? I equip the perk honestly not even knowing if it affects the "snap out of it" action, but hoping it does LOL. In any case, now I know for sure it won't.

  • @Raccoon said:

To be 100% serious for a moment, I was really excited for the new killer, their lore, and power.

After playing the PTB at only Rank 5-ish, boy did that fade :(

At least you could try it on the PTB and draw conclusions for yourself. Personally, I'm not even drawn into playing a killer which I genuinely think could be easily manhandled by some of the survivors, at least Tapp or David, should they choose to fight him.

Edit: I mean, I'm sure Tapp has arrested much tougher thugs and David has beaten crazier hooligans.

  • @Blueberry said:

Yeah I've got well over 2000 hours, never said it wasn't worth the money. Just referencing future spending.

I guess your theory all depends on if forsaking player retention for a constant new player stream will yield better results.

Only time will tell. But there are some examples, we all know what happened with Diablo, which has or had, one of the most die-hard-bordering-on-rabid fanbase out there, since the mid 90's.

And under no circumstance I meant to deride spending 2000+ hours on this game, or any other job, hobby or activity whatsoever. I just mentioned it to highlight how much value we all are getting/got out of this game.

  • @Blueberry said:

Yeah I won't be spending anymore money till I see some actual changes.

I kinda understand the decisions that are being made, from a business point of view. These and all the similar threads (including those talking about how nurse wouldn't see scratch marks if released today), are probably started - and kept relevant by - players with somewhat a large amount of experience in the game. How many of those players are there, as opposed to newer players? The ones getting it for free with PS plus? The ones buying it at any of the multiple sales and discounts?

New players wanting to try the killer side are going to have success (and/or fun) with the Legion nonetheless, because they will be playing against (mostly) new players also. As long as you keep attracting a new player base constantly, I don't see the need of catering to all the grumpy old players' needs (who tend to express their concerns with a heavy one-sided bias). That may be why it looks like the game is being balanced for low-rank play.

Now, there are 4 new survivor-choosing players for every new player choosing killer. Anyone can draw conclusions from that.

Finally, if the game reaches a state which more experienced players may perceive as unfair, too one-sided or just unfun to play at, two things may happen: minor tweaks to keep the old guys there, or old guys moving on to other games. No one is forced to buy or play anything. After all, I think that 200 hours are more than enough value for any videogame price tag. There are guys with 2000+ hours on this??!! Tell me what other entertainment product will give you that for $40 or $50?

Sooner or later, it will be time to move on.

  • @Master said:

"Toxicity" had nothing to do with it. Points are points, and back then 600 points was often the difference between depipping and not depipping, between between pipping and not pipping.

I would say then: Give survivors the damned points, who cares. Just don't make me waste time looking at a BJ simulator, when I could be already dodging lobbies.

MCote: We announce the game will be F2P and a new surprise chapter!

    Audience: BUBBA BUFF OR GTFO.

For real, Leatherface could/should be one of the scariest killers to play against. Deranged, power tool in hand, creepy looks, and if you watched the first movie you know for sure he's a dangerous fellow. Instead, I get the feeling I'm playing against a Ronald McDonald look-alike, making all the kids laugh around him.

  • @ChesterTheMolester said:
Leatherface now inflicts deep wounds with his chainsaw.

You're already suicidal by playing Leatherface, so why not?

  • @Vietfox said:

You should play as the hag more often, she's a really nice killer.

That's what I've read a lot of times here in the forum, I guess I just haven't made the time to learn her.
