I was looking at the auras of the game from 2016 pink and reds. How hard would it be to change the colors.

That's what I've been saying all the time. If they're worried about survivors being tracked with more ease with certain aura perks, just turn all auras the same color, but please NOT red.

yeah the serious ones are always unsettling but sometimes on very very very very rare occasions i will get actual threats "i know your address (insert actual address here) stop playing this game or i will kill you" this was alarming but luckily the address he messaged with was one i lived at 3 years previously but still scary #########.

How's that even possible? And I would answer "Come get some" in that case

They're just whiny entitled kids sitting in front of a screen. But I agree, that's extreme. I don't feel bad for myself if I'm told that, but pity for them instead.

Rule #1 of the PS4 killer book: Change your message settings to Friends only

I actually enjoy getting entitled messages from people at times.

I've had to turn it off before a couple times for a few days... after being told to kill myself and being threatened to be killed in real life... (seriously)

1 time a guy threatened to come kill me... it was text, and he seemed serious... but who knows.

It was concerning... but I do enjoy the salt... I usually get something like this...

"You're trash... [BAD WORD]" (which is a millennial term for [BAD WORD])

"You're not even good, play something else kid".

    Or

"Rank 1? and you patrol camped? You're trash..."

And it usually comes from someone with an annoying name in game, dark clothes.. tryhard perks and entitlement can be smelled on them through the screen...

I agree, they're funny AF. I just send them back a nice Crybaby image every time. But man, then you have the spam Lords that won't let you listen footsteps and other audio cues in your next game... I once got more than 30 msgs from one guy, and over 100 invitations to their party chat. I'm telling you the truth...

BTW, and by no means trying to annoy you, why do people get triggered when being told to #########?? I laugh even harder at those...

Edit: It actually got filtered... I mean when being told to go and take your own "you know what"

  • Where's the Doctor with his ever-so-wise advise when we need it most?

  • I agree. The event is cool, the skins are too. If you don't want to buy anything, don't do it, you're under no obligation.

Besides, if you already suck as a player, cosmetics won't fix it.

For a mature rated game, there sure are a lot of toddler level fits thrown in this community.

Like paying real money for virtual cosmetics, for example.

  • Rule #1 of the PS4 killer book: Change your message settings to Friends only

  • I agree with you, double hookings, near-finished gens, basement, totems, all of them cases when you manage to apply pressure to a whole team, and where strategically is absurd to just take off to the other corner of the map shouldn't drain your BP or hurt your emblem thing.

But hey, I don't think becoming a dumb killer and making bonehead decisions is the way to go just to please entitled survivors. I'll take my 1 or 2% penalty and keep killing them, as it should be.

    Those offerings are completely bugged.

I mean I even got doc splinters ,in my doc bloodweb. Excuse me?

    That completely sucks sweaty balls

  • I honestly would recomend you to not even bother with Ruin anymore. To make it slightly more effective you can throw in Jigsaw or Yamaoka offerings, but I think it's too much of a waste of a Perk slot, and an offering one.

None of my killers have Ruin in their loadouts. Make your choice, Bitter murmur are incredibly useful in the red ranks IMHO, if you want to try them instead.

Or do we even got new cosmetics today? Cuz I’m in school so I can’t access the game lmao

So far, there are no new ones today.

  • They just buffed Alert to hacker level and you say it's killer heavy?

  • You just got Britney Kate, man

  • The kindred thing may be bad RNG, but no teachables at 30, 35 and 40? That sounds like a bug to me

  • Because vaulting from a static position at jaguar's speed and agility made complete sense

What killers need the most is time. If they had more time Freddy could be somewhat good. Myers would dominate (They still wouldn't beat Nurse or Billy though). Time is the Killers greatest enemy and if they don't get everything done quickly they lose. That's why many early hooks are so useful. Early hits and hooks hinder gen progression because survivors need to take time to heal up. Ruin is also good for that reason too. If only it didn't get destroyed the first 30 seconds. Once the killers get more time the devs can properly nerf swf and buff specific killers. That's why perks like D-strike and looping is meta, they waste time for the killer not letting him complete his objective. Every match should last at least 10 minutes if the killer is good. Right now even if the killer is good gens still pop like fireworks on the 4th of July.

    + 1

  • This is only my opinion and by no means I'm disqualifying anything that has been posted already in this thread. I think games would feel a lot better for everyone - including killers not dodging and instead facing 4man squads regularly - once the devs add a couple more objectives for survivors.

I get utterly destroyed by some of this highly coordinated teams from time to time, but it matters little to me, I take the L and move on to the next game. Some times I even manage to get a decent game, and it's all cool for everyone. But many of those stompings I take, would change dramatically if only I had a couple more minutes, because by the time the game ends, I've already managed to apply some pressure to these guys. It sucks that the game has to end so soon...

Eliminating or nerfing SWF would be the ultimate demise for this game and thus, the devs aren't even considering it. I'm not even asking for buffs or nerfs anymore, that only brings us to a futile "us versus them" turf war. My efforts will now concentrate on asking MORE TIME for killers. That's all I need now, more time in these games. Same perks, same maps. JUST MORE TIME PLEASE, and everything will improve for us killer players.

    And Colorblind support...

I've heard a lot of people say that for console. Maybe console just has more survivors ranking up faster for whatever reason. I'm envious.

Maybe you can join the console community. I think more skilled huntresses are needed at R1.
  • IMO there's absolutely no need to derank to get a game in PS4. For the last 4 or 5 rank resets, I've ranked up back to R1 as a killer in just a couple of days barely missing pips in the process, and I've never waited more than 2 or 3 minutes to to get a full lobby.
  • @Rebel_Raven said:

Look dude, it's not our problem if - with all your experience plaging survivor, you still havent figured it out, maybe you should give killer a try. Might be moreleased up your alley.

I wouldn't be too quick to say it's not your problem.
If enough survivors don't have the ability to break a chase one way or another, they're going to complain. The devs will likely listen to them, and they're likely to make things harder on killers.

I don't "main" either side. I just recognize the vicious cycle.

Then, killers leave the unbalanced game, fed up with all the stuff they already have to put up with, survivor queues get longer and nobody is happy.

  • Why do Quarterbacks throw to wide open receivers, instead of throwing into double coverage? Why are they not nice and fair, instead of trying to take advantage of opportunities? Why do boxers hit their opponents? Why aren't they nice?

This is a violent game about murder, you do realize? And you have to remember you're not playing against an AI, you're playing against real people, making real decisions, and many play this game to win, whatever definition of "winning" they may have.

If you're upset about being hit after having being unsafely unhooked, maybe you should consider telling your fellow survivors to be smarter and not go for YOLO saves. It's obvious and only natural that a killer will go after a weaker target, given the effort that bringing full health survivors down represent. Going for a harder target would be dumb, indeed.

  • Having a much more forgiving casual mode where new players can learn the mechanics, and those not so new ones can have fun without getting completely destroyed, would actually contribute to achieve a more balanced DBD game overall.

Currently, devs cater mostly to all those new and casual player needs (and balance the game accordingly) because they're getting wrecked in our currently abusable ranked-only system. Having casual mode implemented - with rules of its own - would finally allow the devs to balance ranked gameplay catering to experienced and skilled player needs.

That, and dedicated servers, would eventually lead to a worthy rank ladder in my opinion.

  • @Dreamnomad said:
I had to google FNaF. For anyone else unfamiliar with it, they are talking about Five Nights at Freddy's. It's a silly jump scare game. I can't say I like the idea of Chuck'E Cheese animatronic robot killer in DBD. I don't think robots, ninjas, zombies, aliens, etc really belong. Though I suppose, a zombie isn't too far away from a spirit when you think about it.

Still, you almost got a Ninja Ghost in the last DLC

  • If you're planning on not letting the killer know how much time is left, I would say neither should the rest of the survivors. Only the hooked guy should know how much time remains, the rest of the crew should only know in which Hook Stage said guy is.

  • While I agree on ranking up being fairly easy, I think that before making any changes to the system the devs should focus on balancing the game adequately. Only then can DBD be considered semi-competitive and completely worthy of having a Rank ladder. After that, they are in position to implement Leaderboards, Season Rewards, etc. The whole enchilada.

If no balance changes are on the horizon, I think they should rework the emblem system then, since I've seen 22k BP killer games resulting in "Entity Displeased", and 9k BP games ending in "Ruthless Killer". How is that possible? Do they want to reward effective Killers, or do they just want Boogeymen playing tag with the kids? Such rewards come in bloodpoints? in Pips? Why isn't there a correlation between them, or in this case, why is it even contradictory?

Besides, what's the point of resetting Ranks every month? Sincerely I'm unfamiliar on how do other games handle their rank resets, but I do think that 1 month seasons are just too short for most of the players.

  • While I'm sure the devs are working on this as a priority, in the meantime there's a workaround that has already been mentioned, I don't remember in which thread.

Start the "Test Internet Connection" and cancel it after the first couple of steps without quitting the game. Go back to DBD and connect to the servers again. It's way faster than restarting the console or waiting the full 3 minutes out.

    Edit: grammar

  • PS4 player here. PSN tag same as here. Feel free to add.

HAHA. Well i strongly disliked facecamping. And i didnt know this scenario existed until this post. And it upset me deeply lol.

Next time you're up for existentialist philosophical DBD discussions, you're buying the beers.

  • @KillJiggy said:

I have actually never had a killer do this in a match lol, but i wouldnt like it if it did.

So you just love to see the world burn for shits and giggles

  • @KillJiggy said:

See. But how often does body blocking actually keep you from hooking someone. I am fine with someone camping in the basement, but the survivors should have a chance to save someone.

I have already stated a couple of cases where hook blocking effectively prevents killers from hooking people. Sadly, I have no video proof of that, and you'll have to trust me. But hey, you don't have video proof either, and I'm taking what you're saying at face value.

How often? 5 or 6 games total, in a lot of hours of gameplay. How often do you find brainless killers blocking the staircases for no reason?

  • @KillJiggy said:

I am very impressed w your composure lol. I am also a killer main btw.

killer main btw, or KiLLeR mAiN BtW >_< ??

Just kidding man. But hey, I think it's good to watch things from both perspectives.

  • @KillJiggy said:

They removed facecamping for the same concept as this scenario

I would agree with you if both sides of the equation were addressed. No staircase blocking, if and only if, No hook blocking.

  • @KillJiggy said:

That may not be the correct term, but it should still be bannable

I think we're effectively running loops around the pallet right now. If you refer to my first and second posts in this thread, you'll see that if those issues are not bannable, neither is this. But props to both of us for staying civilized in a killer vs survivor discussion.

  • @KillJiggy said:

Another example is blocking the survivors from having a chance of unhooking someone

It is not, because that won't prevent the match from ending.

  • @KillJiggy said:

Except that facecamping was bannable and they changed the game to allow survivors to unhook from all sides. And that isnt camping, its holding the game hostage to me

You may have to readjust your definition of taking the game hostage. You now have more information and opinions.

  • @KillJiggy said:

I believe it is, it is preventing the survivors from doing their job, therefore holding the game hostage.

Survivors can still work on gens while Mr. Staircase Blocker does his thing. To hold a game hostage is, for example, trapping the last survivor in a corner where he can not escape from, without hitting him, trying to force him to leave the game. Another example is survivors going all Ninja when the doors and/or hatch are open, trying to force the killer to DC.

  • @SenzuDuck said:

I can understand what you're saying, but this is a thing that is happening in less than 5% of matches, and I think that's an acceptable number to have, personally. Sure it's frustrating as heck, but that's the good thing about this game, you can, if you want too, play like that.

I completely agree with you. Outside of playing against a highly altruistic 4man SWF team (maybe 5% of the matches as you say), blocking the basement stairs is tremendously inefficient and would result in throwing the game away, since you would give away 3 gens for free. So I still think that it's not a bannable offense, given that the killer is also greatly affected by it and in no way is taking the game hostage.

  • @SenzuDuck said:

I think this is an entirely different scenario, one is making it harder, the other is completely prevent a part of the game, the caveat to a survivor blocking is you damage them, and then there are more injured people, you quite literally can't do anything to a killer blocking the basement.

Although I agree it's a different scenario, I've faced a couple of 4man SWF teams that take turns being hit, insta-healing each other (or healing normally after their supply ends), effectively preventing hooking any of them. One of those teams even took turns while saboing the hooks. They even know exactly where to crouch behind you so the hook prompt never appears.

As with any of the other annoyances of DBD, I had to suck it up and move on, after just getting a couple of hooks in those games.

Most of the time, I would consider blocking the basement stairs highly inefficient, but I already picture a couple of scenarios where it would completely make sense, as in playing versus a highly altruistic 4man SWF team.

  • @slingshotsurvivor said:

So many LF and Bing Bongs do this to survivors. Not sure why anyone would want to do this... Apparently some find it amusing.

Some do it to secure kills.

  • If survivors are allowed to block hooks, effectively preventing killers do part of their job, then killers are allowed to block basement stairs, effectively preventing survivors do part of their job.
