Has anyone else noticed a significant drop in performance on ps4? My frame rate has dropped significantly to the point where it is almost unplayable and the menus seem laggier than ever. Also the game has now crashed twice which has never happened before. I’m playing on a ps4 Pro btw so the fact that this game runs so poorly is kind of sad tbh as it’s obviously not that graphically demanding.
Yes. Framerate on the new map is atrocious. Feels like it runs at 15 fps and even less when stepping into the *organic matter stuff everywhere* room or whatever the name is. Got that nightmare of a labyrinth for 4 straight matches and on the 4th I DC'ed for the first time EVER playing killer.
I also played at least five matches on the springwood maps and they have real poor framerate. Non-playable quality, really. It was bad, but now it's worse.
Ormond and Haddonfield have been bad from the beginning, too.
Hard to argue against the people believing that their priority now is to optimize monetization strategies, instead of performance. At least on PS4.
I'll try reinstalling the whole game, to see if it improves. If not, I'm taking a long break from it.

Huntress gets 1st place for me. That 2 handed swing along with the yell feels so powerful and full of bad intentions lmao.
2nd place goes to LF. It reminds me of him whacking that guy (Kirk) in the original '74 movie. That's when he's revealed, so it's twice as memorable.

You know the stuff is broken when you have to lose chases on purpose just to be able to hear a damn thing again

It's because of

I think the worst offender is padded jaws.
If the trap doesn't get outright disarmed or sabotaged, it will serve its objective:
Nothing.
And you're forced to waste bps many times on them.
-
The whole idea of making a game designed around slashers.
Enabling long time horror fans to play as icons such as Leatherface and Myers is great, but playing as the original killers is also mostly a very enjoyable experience.
I like how they went for the warping killer, the teleporting one, the invisible ones, the evil laughing one, etc. Most of the staples of the horror genre are there, and there are many more still coming.
-
Survivors will rather spend 4 minutes running around stuff like robots, than looking for their less than 20 secs and 1000 bps / a piece scondary objective.
Because it's fun.
-
It's obvious it's meant to work that way. For the reasons already stated above.
Item duplication, mainly.

Me personally I don't run Franklin's demise because I play fair. To me killers who do need it are either really bad or just total dbags. Because a killer can take a survivor's item but the survivor can't take their power add-ons. But this is just my personal opinion.
There's no need to take away killers' addons. They will be lost anyway, when the match ends.
And my opinion is, everything in the game is game. Survivors can bring instaheals and keys, knowing a killer might equip Franklin's to counter them.
-
Not a Clown main obviously, but the only times I've had (moderate) success with him playing against capable opponents were those when I used the Mean Chase Machine build:
Brutal strength, Enduring, Spirit Fury, Bamboozle.
Exhaustion and + 1 bottle addons.
No one is getting away with that. No one near you, I mean.

4 x DS, Adr, BT, DH
Add instaheals to spice stuff up.

Still better than Jane who sounds like she enjoys getting hit
IMO they may consider re-doing her sounds. Her voice is good but it 100% sounds like she's getting banged instead of killed.

Meh.

Still missing Dwight's face.

@Condorloco_26 It didn't need to be evened out because those things have nothing to do with the issue the topic is about.
Latency or not, I've had killers hit me while I hear the WHIFF sound from when they supposedly missed, but somehow the hit was still connected. That is an issue because it makes me think that there is an invisible weapon infront of their weapon that I cannot see, and that I have to just work around.

All of which are allowed in the game.
Much like your Noed, Camping, Bloodlust, Slugging, Tunneling... they got your back too.
It all evens out bud. Good to know you've realized it.
That means less useless threads.

Basing any opinion on flawed stats gathered throughout one week is just asking to be misled. Applies for both sides of the coin.
You'll never know the real, absolute truthful stats. No one has any obligation to show them, anyway.
Play the game as is, or not.
-
Never.
Don't rank up.

Just assume it and go all out every single time.
That way you can't go underprepared.

I heard 5% doesn't make much of a difference from what I been hearing.
Look at the math of two killers traveling 80 meters:
115% = 17.3 seconds
110% = 18.1 seconds
That is, travelling in a straight line. Which if you have hatchets shouldn't represent a problem anyway.
The thing is, people want to 115% chase around stuff since 110% proves too slow on many loops in the game. Killers accelerate slower when changing direction (as stated by the devs), so if you happen to be chasing around loops with a lot of debris you'll just never catch up.
Personally, I don't want 115% just because they'll find a way to nerf her to "compensate". I prefer her to stay the way she is now and more *git gud* at throwing hatchets.
-
And I think if you find a Bubba on ranks 1-2, it would most likely mean you're playing against a very capable one.

That sucks. I wish we had more ways to communicate with our team even if we weren't on comms. Being on the hook and wanting your team to do gens instead of coming to save you is almost impossible because you have no way of being able to tell them that.
Kindred wants a word with you.

Her add ons are getting a rework and she is being slightly nerfed.
The addon rework, I think we all agree is much needed. I would even agree with her only having 4 or 5 different ones, obviously taking away the extra range ones and additional blinks.
The thing is, I think her base power should be left as it is right now. I'm weary they give her some kind of power bar gimmick or some cooldown like that.
We'll see.

Of course I am, nurse is richness for the game. Thats the only killer that bring real diversity to the roaster. I wont talk much about it, only the fundamental idea behind it. MoM and old Ds would still be there, no one would dare to ask for a nurse nerf.
I agree.
What I'm trying to say though, is that your idea won't gain any ground against the mob.

That's exactly why the looping meta should be shaken. Just a little bit.
Nurse has been strong forever with zero issues. With people complaining forever. I wish people would just learn how to play against her.
I agree with you guys. I'm not on the 'nerf nurse' camp, since I actually dislike looping waist high stuff like an idiot.
-
People all over the place crying nerf for nurse and you're asking exactly for a Nurse.
The thing is, people don't want their looping meta shaken.
I agree with you, in the sense that there should be a lot of different playstyles available.
-
You may want to play her again for a while, before she gets "reworked".
-
Killers:
Huntress and Billy half the matches.
For the other 50% I play almost all killers at the same rate. The edgy gang is left out, though.
Survs:
Jeff and Kate. David sometimes. But I think I'll level Bill up some time in the future, now that he's on PS4.

I see no point in buying a piece of virtual clothing.
And if I want a DLC, I'll just buy it straight with money, without the whole auric cell conversion.

Your number 2 is so genius! :)
Like, why didn't I think of that?
Lol sorry, I missed your answer when I skimmed through the thread.
-
- Whenever the case arises, drop YOLO unhooked people in order to deny Deliverance to hook farmers
- For those that legitimately obtained their Deliverance, you can slug and take the "broken" status as a 1 min clock. It's a very popular perk combo.

Just like pressing ESC and Leave match buttons lol
Yes indeed.
And until there's any kind of penalty, loads of people will keep doing it.
-
It's part of the game. Mechanics allow it. Game designers left room for it, so it's possible. They thought some kind of gameplay should revolve around hooks, or else survivors would respawn or die instantly.
All this, only to say it's game. Whether people like it or not. Like looping. Like NOED. Like swf. Like moris. And so and so.

I LOVE the loud screams. Its the chase music that needs lowering.
You're supposed to be deafened by it, so you lose track of the chased survivor.

If you're playing killer and hook a survivor, instantly give them a whack to stop the screaming.
That's what I ended up doing to skid-mark, ear piercing, banshee screeching Laurie.
I'm tired of having to take my headset off.
-
Everytime I get Ormond, I just run around as a headless chicken since I can't see a single hook or gen aura.
Perhaps I should DC, as the hundreds (or thousands) of chumps already do in this game when the slightest of things don't go their way.
-
@Warlock_2020 said:
I have also talked about it extensively. I struggle as a killer due to massive blending effects on most maps. I have to hunt by movement. Can't see blood or scratch marks. Heck, the generator auras are nearly impossible to see on Ormont or McMillan maps.
I've used the Nvidia settings and they are fantastic for vibrancy and color differential in pictures and video, but they do all but nothing in a game like DbD.
Having the ability to change colors of auras, scratches, blood, etc would be insanely helpful. I'm sure some who are not colorblind would abuse it though.
Leave scratches and blood out, for balance reasons.
But there's no logic behind NOT letting us set the color of gen, hook, and trapper's traps auras.
-
@Condorloco_26 said:
I always post about the hardships color blindness affected killers endure. Given that the ability of the new killer won't let you actually see survivors, instead relying on following tracks or blood,
Will you please now consider adding colorblind options to the game? This killer will be unplayable for us otherwise.
I have already tried with predator and bloodhound. No tangible difference for me. And even if it DID make a difference, why should I waste 2 perk slots to overcome a difficulty that 99% of the games out there address correctly?
Previously talking about this topic, the devs said they didn't have the resources to work on it, but the BBQ event showed us that they ACTUALLY can change hook colors, even mid-game switching them, so why don't they add colorblind mode to the whole game? Imagine playing this killer against Iron Will/Calm Spirit, not seeing survivors bc the ability prevents you from doing so, not being able to follow blood trails or scratch marks bc you are color blind and not hearing them bc they equipped those 2 perks. Impossible to play for me.
You can check this thread out, add your opinion. Perhaps someday they will introduce colorblind filters.
-
And even with multiple survivors, you know at least one of them is getting hooked.
-
Is the hatch closed already?
Had a match like that and the survivor chose to hide and wait for the Entity.

I'm really not appreciating all the rudeness in this topic.. I got the game a week ago so I don't know a lot of the go-to strategies yet. All I know is I have been downed from this problem countless times even if i'm trying to loop. He just follows me around the corners and there's nothing I can do.
If you've played the game for just a week, I think you'd get better answers if you asked for advice, instead of nerfs.
The first one I'd give you is ignore all the "LF is bad" memes and never underestimate a Bubba. He's a dangerous man, as you seem to know already. Don't be a victim of the Bubba Syndrome, where all survivors drop 80 pts in IQ when playing against him.
Try staying away from his sight, especially in open terrain. Don't visit his basement, ever. Never YOLO unhook someone. Don't bunch up with your teammates. Don't try to loop him around a tree, many Bubbas know how to turn tight loops swinging the chainsaw. Bubbas have to piggyback survivors to land chainsaw hits most of the time, so don't try to squeeze another loop when he's already smelling your rear, drop the pallet and move on.
And remember, the chainsaw still works through windows, just like lunges. Hope it helps.

@starkiller1286 Now it's impossible. The "X" prompt for the final blow from Tommy is glitched.

Bubba has to rely on the Survivors messing up or catching them out in the open.
The angsty teenager with a ruler can actually do something without completely relying on the Survivors, even if it’s not very much.
Yeah, s/he can play tag with 4 strangers over the web. Without them feeling uncomfortable at all. LOL
