  • Bump cause this is getting ridiculous.

I know pc players are the majority of the playerbase but theres enough players on consoles to move forward with this fps update.

FPS should have been fixed before crossplay.

Stop buying cosmetics and aura cells. They have no reason to fix anything if we just keep giving them our money anyway.

The devs prioritize the wrong things to get fixed first and the more time you spend on this fourm and playing DBD, you really start to realize that if there not making money off it then trust me its not even being thought about.

They probably have a monthly meeting where they discuss this fps issue and this is how i think it goes

"Hey john the consoles players are still complaining about the FPS optimization we promised them over a year ago and never delivered"

"Hey bob how much we do in sales in cosmetics on consoles this month?"

"Well john, the amateur consoles players are just eating up all the new stuff we released, profits are looking good this month"

*laughs* "stupid console players will never understand"

"Just have a mod go post in the fourms that were still working on it, its worked this far lets just keep it going"

"Hey bob hows that new skin coming along for the new killer?... Yeah?... Make sure we bump up the price to $20 for this legendary skin."

"You sure there going to pay more for this skin than they did for the whole game? Of course there going to pay it!

"Make the new legendary skin top priority! Cya next month"

It created rifts in team play. If the guy you were working with kept hitting only good skillchecks, the gen would still stop progress. Then you'd be forced to leave them and do your own gen because they're being a hinderance.

It was also incredibly easy to exploit. Paired with Huntresses lullaby and Unnerving Prescence, skillchecks were almost impossible leading to situations where the game was being taken hostage.

I rarely remember having games being held hostage over ruin, but i do remember going into games and not even touching gens.

My team would just straight attack totems right off the rip.

I wouldnt say the game was held hostage but games were definitely longer and you couldn't just spawn in and hold m1 on a gen and 4 minutes later all 5 gens are done.

Old ruin games would last like 20 minutes plus almost always because you would spend the first 5 minutes of a match searching for ruin and saving team mates because it just wasnt efficient to do a gen unless you knew you could hit greats every time.

Even then normally had a potato team mate who would miss them even if you hit them and then it would still regress every time.

Old ruin was fun, strong, and probably a little to OP against new players.

Good players would just do a gen normaly. They dont have a problem hittinf greates.

Yeah but very few players could do a whole gen and hit all greats.

Mastering skill checks just comes with playing the game more.

Some players pick it up easily and some players struggle with them. Its an easy mechanic to master.

  • It was nerfd because like 95% of players couldnt reliably hit great skill checks for an entire gen.

Killers would get info from players missing skill checks then it would regress everytime you missed a great skill check.

Old ruin was by far the best anti gen rush perk there was.

There was no such thing as gen rushing because even if you brought in a tool box or a BNP, most of the time you werent going to hit all great skill checks all gen.

    New survivor: Boosted Idiot

    Three teachable perks

    Screw it: hook yourself

Repair: Unlocks the un-sabotage action. Repair a broken hook.

    Sewer Slide: DC w/ Bloodpoints

πŸ˜† could you imagine if they really had a perk that would allow you to hook yourself.

On a side note while i was typing i thought that this would be a great counter to moris.

Imagine you get unhooked from 1st hook your rushing a gen and the killer is coming back to mori you, BAM you jump back on the hook and wait for a team mate to come rescue. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Could be useful in swf lol but solo que would just be a joke like the easy and safe way to depip.

  • I didnt know this but ty for this info. Was an interesting read.

Am curious to see a reply.

    Yup bump again.

  • Best way to prevent a gen rush is to down survivors.

  • Wish they would pair me up with them.

I wipe the floor with 4 mans all day.

Just because your in a 4 man swf doesnt mean all 4 survivors are good.

Its all about how quickly you can end the 1v1 to create more pressure.

Which one is better in your opinion and why?

I like dh more since i use it for distance to reach a pallet and i hate sb since i dont like walking

Dead Hard all day, in my opinion it just comes in clutch so much more than SB.

Granted that is when it works, but theres just so much you can do with it.

DH for a window or pallet saved

DH to go through a trap

DH to just almost always have a get out of jail free card when running to the exit gate

DH to make a save then get out of the way

DH under the hook while your running break out so the killer misses and your team mate gets off

DH for distance when the killer trys to look the other way to avoid my flashlight save

DH to get out of basement

DH just to save your butt in so many situations.

Sprint burst is a good perk and is definitely my second choice for an exhaustion perk.

With that being said theres only so much you can do with SB even when your really good and can have it 99d

Each perk plays to different play styles. I feel like people use SB as a perk to deny the killer the first hit, and usually are the more stealthy gamers. They'll want to heal before doing gens while people who use DH tend to play the game more injured and on the risky side i feel.

These are just my opinions, but i am for sure a dead head all day.

  • Sounds like you mad about face camping.

    Are you said face camper?

Lol i dont understand why your mad unless your the one who actually got banned for this.

  • While this perk is really good for survivors the 3 killer perks that just came out are all decent perks to say the least.

Plus you guys have franklins that now destroys the item after 90 seconds which if your chasing a decent survivor by the time you actually down him from the time you first hit him is already like 45 seconds to a minute not to mention then he gets hooked.

By the time he gets unhooked his item is already gone.

Here we go with the Soul Guard hype again.

In the past week. 7 days. How many time has someone been picked up in front of you and you tried to hit them and Soul Guard activated? If you say more than 2 or 3, you're probably lying. No one actually uses that perk and it's a crappy perk

Ima be completely honest here and say this perk is really good but only in the hands of someone experienced with a certain type of play style.

I have a friend whos rank 1 with me who runs soul guard, DS, unbreakabill, and tenacity and when i tell you this man pulls off a soul guard save every game almost.

If someone is on death hook he will go for the save and if he goes down he will crawl under the person whos hooked and if you do it right the killer cant pick you up.

He then will pick himself up with unbreakable and get the save and he usually gets away because of soul guard.

Doesnt always work but when it does its nice to see a plan come to work before your eyes and some times it doesnt and then he waste his unbreakable for nothing.

    Fun times

  • The dedicated servers

    The massive errors

    The amazing fps

The skins that cost more than the game

The way the devs really listen to the community and always seem to fix what really matters the most with the game.

Im sure theres 94858364 other reasons other people could add to the list but you catch my drift.

Everyone over here assuming we all buy all the DLC. I'm running base killers + Pyramid Head. Also clown and Halloween for some reason, though I don't remember buying those. Will pick up some more when there's a big sale, probably. Not gonna bother wasting anything on the shrine, either.

Your not wasting anything on the shrine as the game literally gives you shards for just playing, and infectious has been in the shrine multiple times over the past year.

The reason the shrine is there is for players like you who dont want to spend money to buy the dlcs.

The fact that you dont buy anything from the shrine and instead spend your shards on cosmetics? πŸ˜‚

Idk just saying your preventing yourself from becoming a better killer by not using the shrine to its advantages in my opinion.

But hey if you like getting one free hit on any experienced survivor for a whole perk slot then your choice.

Any experienced player who uses a flashlight on the regular mainly the survivors you have to worry about will be able to identify you have this perk on first pallet break and then its just a wasted perk slot.

If they tunnel me just for decently looping imagine 5 minutes lol that’s all my game would be is getting chased, believe it or not I want something other than boldness points :/

Whats messed up about this, is you barely safety pip if this happens.

You should be awarded more points if you run the killer the whole game.

Its not my fault the killer wants to chase me all game and i happen to just out play or out mind game him all game and i still depip or barley safety pip is bull.

  • When killers notice someone with skill they usually tend to tunnel them out first.

Lets face it once its a 3v1 unless all 3 survivors are super good and the killer is a potato its an easy gg for the killer.

    Because its bad?

You can either have 56% if all 4 Survivors are injured/dying/hooked or a 33% Increase by Botany Knowledge, which you will have all the time. Nobody will run this Perk.

I plan to use this perk to make saves, because it does unhooking speed as well i believe?

If so then with resilience i can 100% take a hit make the unhook and then DH out of the way with plenty of time to spare.

I think it'll take a while. Right now, the new killer really isn't worth playing as currently built (yes, I played on PTB today), and it'll take the ol' RNG time to get those perks on the wanted killers.

And, let's not forget, this is the community that complains endlessly about NOED, when all they've ever had to do was totems to prevent it from ever triggering. But, they don't. To this day, they don't.

So, even after killers get Blight's perks, survivors are still going to resist doing the totems. They'll be even more complaint threads about the perks before they finally figure out: do totems.

I dont think so i think now survivors will definitely do totems, so much so that noed wont even exist anymore.

  • @CalamityJane said:

The worst part of this perk is that it's Thrill of the Hunt on crack. Seriously, it reveals all survivors near ALL totems? Can't even cleanse dull totems without having your aura shown, THAT'S ridiculous.

I was thinking its funny how this is basically just a better thrill of the hunt.

Who needs the slow down speed on breaking it when you can see them before there even on it.

High mobility killers like billy nurse the new killer will benefit the most from this.

It is strong and i like the fact that there bringing in new strong perks for killer but seeing the auras is to much.

You can also guarantee a map will almost always be brought in now.

This would be nice as i know on console if someone is downed in a pallet and you making loops and need to drop the pallet is will make you heal instead of dropping the pallet.

So would be nice if we could make the actions different keys so this wouldnt be a problem anymore.

  • @28_stabs said:

Also, I dont like that survivors can see the hatch after other survivors are dead. No, thats still too early. Show it after I close it.

The reason the hatch is in game is because its impossible to do a gen in a 1v1.

The hatch isnt their to help either side out. Its not a killer tool nor a survivor tool.

The killer isnt entitled to a free kill just because you killed everybody else, same for survivor your not entitled to a free escape just because your the last one left alive.

Its literally just a race to the hatch. 1st one gets it wins.

Edit : hatch spawn recipe is (survivors alive +1) so if theres 3 survivors left 4 gens need to be done, 2 survivors left 3 gens done ect.

If you really wanna sweat for the 4k then when theres 2 survivors left you slug 1 of them and then find the hatch. Then hook the survivor close to the hatch.

The game does favor the killer on the hatch animation so if the killer and survivor are both standing on the hatch at the same time, the killers animation to close the hatch will over rule the survivors animation to jump through it.

If your the killer and your running to the hatch and you see the last survivor standing on top of it dont run up to them and hit them. The slow down from you landing the attack will give the survivor enough time to hop through.

Instead you should just stand on top of the hatch and spam the button to close it. You will win 100% of the time and then its an easy down.

No its not good with anything. This perk is completely useless and in my opinion promotes a play style of leaving your team mates behind.

For example if you load into a game with this perk and then you happen to be one of the last 2 survivors in the game and theres one gen left and its been a sweaty match.

Chances that your going to make a play to save your team mate are significantly lower, to where lets say that you have BT instead and saving your team mate will maybe allow one of you guys to continue looping and gen the gen done and escape.

Maybe your team mate is a god tier survivor and still has all his meta perks ect

What im saying is you never know what can happen and in my opinion to let your team mate die just because your running this janky worthless selfish perk just so you can get some extra BPs for an escape is trash and the true definition of a potato.

Be a real player get good at looping and be a team player.

After you play DBD long enough you learn that escaping isnt always a win.

For the record this isnt directed at you just replying to your post with my opinion.

No, but nice survivor main rhetoric. Good stuff.

If a survivor jumps in a locker in my face, how exactly do I slug them? It's a stupid mechanic that is literally uncounterable.

And, as anyone who has played killer will say, 99% of the times I get hit by DS happen after I chase/hook another survivor.

But ya, salty tunneling killer *smile*

Sounds like you need to just chase after someone else instead of the guy who just got unhooked.

After you get done chasing the guy who made the unhook dont go back to the guy who got saved.

Let him do that gen with his "invincibility"

Go down another survivor and with 2 hooked now go back for the guy who didnt heal himself but instead did the gen with his "invincibility"

Now hes an easy one hit with no DS and you have great map pressure with 2 hooks and chasing the 3rd means realistically no one should be doing gens as the forth guy is running to get saves.

Only time DS is OP is if you get unhooked during EGC and the door is 99d.

Thats some real invincibility not a survivor doing a gen or hoping in a locker in front of you.

Learn to play around DS or just eat them.

    Stop complaining.

Im rank 1 on both sides with 1200 plus hours.

DS is not a problem unless your a potato killer who has to tunnel.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1542702#Comment_1542702

The amount of times I've been running, unhooked to the door to see it 99d with NOBODY THERE only for me to go down trying to finish it, says otherwise.

While this is a possibility and it happens then im sure you've been playing long enough to have had a game where you died because the timer ran out of had to leave someone or be left simply because their isnt enough time to make the save.

Rule of thumb dont open the doors prematurely. If all the gens are done need to stick with your team instead of running off solo.

If more survivors did this then making saved wouldnt be a problem because someone would be there to take a hit and open the door.

Plus if you have ds then your good.

  • @28_stabs said:

I think that 32m is too much. Please, decrease it to 1m.

Lol this must be a joke. Anybody who uses this perk and actually gets use out of it is a potato.

Like in order to get this perk to work you have to be non altruistic so you can end up being the last one to even find the hatch.

And with so many other good perks out there like BT DS UB Adrenaline wglf we'll make it auto dik dik i mean the list goes on and on.

I mean this perk is about as useful as deja vu.

  • @ZaKzan said:

it is by far the most stupidest thing you can do as survivor, it hinders the survivors so severely as most of the time the killer is chasing you to the exit, it just gives the killer so much more time to down you

I really don't understand why people don't just open the exit gates, the game gives you plenty of time to save a couple people, get downed, be hooked, and then be saved. I love it when people do it and I'm killer, I can usually get a kill just based off of that alone.

This is the potato that opens the door when someone is hooked.

You should always 99 the gate untill all the survivors are close.

If you dont want to help save your team mates and you want to play it safe then be a team player and just sit at the lever and open the door when you see your team mates in your line of view.

Dont open the gate and start the timer which is 2 minutes i believe.

Some times the person going for the save gets down and now you have to think of a new plan, or maybe everybody is injured and needs to heal to make a safe rescue.

You never know what can happen and tbh some of the most fun ive had in dbd is after the gens are completed and were all working together to try and make sure everybody gets out.

Dont be that potato that just adds unnecessary pressure to the team by giving everybody a timer.

  • 1200 hours on dbd with billy being my main and i Havent played billy since they changed him back to PTB billy.

He just feels clunky and his add ons are just weird a stealth billy? πŸ˜‚

  • I believe they just reworked a bunch of map and reduced the number of pallets on alot of maps.

    Made some maps smaller.

Survivors need to learn how to loop more instead of just camping the pallet and throwing it down in the killers face.

Did we even ask for this? Crossplay has ruined this game. Turn it off? Well good luck getting into a game since every PC player that has it ON can't be in a game with you. This is awful design. Console survivors are awful. Console killers are awful and toxic. The game is not fun with crossplay. It's also pretty clear that console killers have some sort of huge advantage given to them. I'm normally rank 3 survivor and I can't even climb right now with these killers. They are like 5x faster than normal, never miss, and hit me from like 10 yards away when I'm nowhere near them. This sucks.

Us console players can say the same for the pc potatoes.

Fact is theres potatoes on both sides and if your having trouble ranking up against console killers maybe get gud?

Theres alot more killers in the player pool now so there will be more experienced killers than usual.

And if anything pc players have the advantage with your stable 60 fps.

Thx man is very stressful to play Billy, I don't feel the same for him as I do Bubba

This is because billy is significantly harder to master than bubba.

Billys chainsaw is like a torpedo that needs to be aimed correctly and if you miss you go flying.

Bubbas chainsaw is charge it up and if theres no pallet or window you get a down.

Billy is like nurse it will take many games of practice to master his movement and how to curve ect but once mastered he is very rewarding to play.

  • Its not always going to work but having resilience is like bringing a tool box and medkit in one.

  • Survivor if im not trying to sweat and killer if i am.

After reding topic about decisive stirke i came to conclusion that some players here dont understand or dont want to understand how this skill ACTALLY works the despite saying they are rank1 killers/survs and so on.

    1) A surv is unhooked, then he agressivly runs to unhook teammate and simply jumps in to a locker. (most killers do not tunnel , so checkmate).

    2) A surv is unhooked, then he runs to repair a critical gen that at 90% of progress if you come closer he simply jumps in to a locker You have a choice between wating about 20-50 seconds or losing a gen. Even if there was no locker and you put him in to a dying state he can simply crawl away.

    3) A surv is unhooked, then he start repairing a nearest gen without trying to hide/leave a place he was hooked . 80 sec takes repairing of one gen, DS has duaration of 60 sec. Most likely there are 2 survs on the gen.

    4) A surv is unhooked, he gets heal, he starts playing agressive and risky , he baits you, bodyblock you, he helps his teammates in recovery from dying state etc, you hit him once and he goes in to a locker or he lures you away in to an empty corner. You cant pick him up and you wasted time chasing him.

    5) You might do an entire circle round map on billy/oni/nurse find a bucn of guys reparing a gen and suddenly desicive strike comes in to action.

    6) Ds when exit gates are open and 20-40 meters away from hook gives free escape.

Those are examples that came to my mind right now. Guess i dont even remember most of ways of using this interesting and balanced perk. In addition it is even hard to remember which one was actually unhooked espesialy if survs run the same characters. You cant even drop body if you picked up it by a mistake.

In short words players use it for agressive playstyle. This perk should be canceled if 1) after unhooking surv reparis a gen for more than 3 sec. 2) surv unhooks other surv.

Okay ill explain why i think your reasons are bs in my opinion.

    1. Okay so here you have 2 people hooked ( one recently unhooked for DS) so one guy made the save which means 2 survivors are at the hook one is hooked and one guy is on the gen.

You see the guy with ds running for the save, he hops in a locker you pull him out. He hits the ds and stuns you, still only 1 guy on gens as now you continue the chase with ds guy for your easy hook and someone has to make the next save.

If he misses the DS easy second hook and perk slot wasted.

You Still have great map pressure even with eating a DS and you could simply repeat this process and you would easily win the game if your good in chases.

    2. If the gen is 90% and you dont have pop or ruin or anything that gen is GONE. smart survivors will just start a new gen if your camping it to hard.

You create more map pressure by hooking survivors rather than just chasing them off gens. If You never commit to a chase to get the down the gen will eventually get down.

You eat his DS and then hook him.

    3. You slug the guy with DS and then chase the other survivor. Assuming your good in chase and you down him.

The guy you slugged either uses his UB which means hes one perk down now or someone came to help which means only 1 survivor is working on a gen.

Great map pressure. Especially if the survivor you slugged doesnt have UB and the guy who went for the heal doesnt get it off in time. Now you have 1 hooked 1 slugged and chasing the third.

This could easily snowball into a 4k depending on how long the chase last.

    4. Lets say this survivor gets healed with a beefy med kit and has 50 seconds left of DS.

If your smart enough to know hes playing to aggressive cause he have DS simply go after someone else. He wants to body block thats fine same thing as another survivor taking a hit.

How do you get baited? If you know you just hooked him and hes clearly back in chase trying to use his DS on you, why would you change your target.

Keep chasing the same guy and if you slug the guy with DS in the process then thats just extra map pressure because someone has to come heal him.

You dont lose that much distance in a chase from someone taking a hit and for sure not enough distance to lose chase, at most make it to another window/pallet.

If you get baited by switching targets and chasing the guy with DS again then you as the killer have made a misplay.

    No reason to switch targets.

    5. I mean what is this? I mean you would clearly know the last person you hooked.

If you make a big circle around the map and run back into a group of survivors that obviously just double healed the guy with DS.

You would clearly have multiple targets to chase to avoid DS.

Unless its a full team of blendys or something this should be an issue, even if your a god tier billy nurse and can down everybody hella quick and then get his by DS.

So what your a god if you have 3 people downed or hooked and you get hit by a DS your straight.

    6. Number 6 is legit OP. This needs to be fixed as there is absolutely no counter play to this.

DS should deactivate when you pass the exit gates.

Granted these are all just my opinions and what i would do in each of these situations.

I have 1200 hours and play both survivors and killer at rank 1 on xbox.

Why exactly would tunnelers want to extend the duration of DS as long as the survivor hasn't gone back to doing objectives? Does anyone actually read posts before they start typing?

I didnt read lol but i mean its 60 seconds. This whole survivor just do gens in my face is cause they are invincible is bs.

    You have two choices

    A. Hit and slug then to force there UB or force a team mate to come help.

    B. Grab them off gen and eat the DS its 5 seconds and if your a good killer catching back up to the survivor isnt hard and then its an easy hook again.

I just dont see why everybody complains about this, i cant imagine experienced killers getting hit by DS every game. I rarely ever eat a DS unless its planned.

I think just the majority of killers are potatoes and dont know how to play around DS.

As ive stated before its really only OP if its used during EGC with a door 99d.

Thats a get out of jail free card.

Whatever you say bro. Have fun with your red rank hivemind gang you apparently have. Too cool for me, clearly.

Your comment is stupid and not needed. Im replying to a post about console players using self care.

In my experience at red ranks (generally where the more experienced players are) i dont see self care used often.

Im not in some "hivemind gang" im simply an experienced dbd player who happens to be in red ranks.

Not sure what your problem is with red ranks.

You salty you cant make it to red ranks or what?

I didnt come in and say yeah us red ranks are the best of the best and if your not red rank your trash.

    Stay in your lane.

  • Only people complaining about ds are tunnelers.

Only thing wrong with DS is that it doesnt deactivate once you past the exit gate.

Getting unhooked during egc with a door 99 is OP and needs to be fixed.

All other situations are irrelevant if your a good killer DS isnt even a problem.

As a rank 1 killer with 1200 plus hrs i really only get hit with a DS if i plan to. Theres 4 survivours dont go after the same guy you just hooked.

Its 60 seconds if you chase the person who saved even a basic potato can last 30 seconds in a chase. You hook him and go after someone different. Dont go back to the last guy whos still injured.

Hes doing a gen fine let him. Go down a second survivor and create map pressure. Now you have 2 hooks and since ole guy you didnt tunnel did the gen instead of healing now go back and hes a easy one hit with no DS.

Its not hard to go after different survivors.

Only time its OP is during EGC and a door is 99d.

It should deactivate when you pass the exit gate.

Also I made fun of someone like this in another thread, might as well do it again.

What a videogame banger bro. So cool bro talking about these real red ranks and what they do bro. My god I'm so envious of your skill. You're so cool how I do I be like you like seriously bro. Can I be a part of your secret red rank hivemind cult bro? No? DamB.

Made fun of? πŸ˜‚ im hurt by your comments. Please stop bro, your to much mr potato.

  • I dont mind going against swf. As a rank 1 survivor and rank 1 killer on xbox.

I enjoy the challenge and i regularly get 4ks.

People always complain that swf is so over powered, when its really NOT.

Does it give your team mates extra info sure but how many survivors can really capitalize on that info.

Comms doesnt effect your 1v1 in a chase. While they can communicate and do gens faster the killer is in control of the game.

You the killer its your job to create pressure.

You need to end your 1v1s quickly and effectively to force survivors to come for saves and get off gens, Doesnt matter about having comms if the personal skill of the survivors is trash.

4 experienced solo que survivors with good game knowledge can run over a killer just as easily as a swf on comms.

As the killer you control the game, you move faster, you have a special power, you have strong perks to help with chases.

  • Welcome to dedicated servers.

    Dead hard for distance.

I just want to know why every single console player I've run in to has been using self-care. Is the meta that different on console?

No self care is πŸ—‘ and not all of us console players are potatoes.

Lots of boosted red ranks right now due to so many babies in ranked for so long now.

Give it a little bit and you'll see that the real red ranks arent using self care because most of us dont mind being injured with alot of us running builds that give us a slight advantage when injured, plus if were confident in our looping ability plus we know what pallets are left around us were good.

Plus alot of us know that we need to get gens done first and healing second.

  • If you dead hard for a window you need to be use it far enough back so you can still get a fast vault.

For example if you wanna dead hard for distance as its refered to inside of shack when making your loop you would use it as soon as you made it through the door without the pallet so you still fast vault and get maximum distance with your dead hard.

If you use it for shack pallet you would use it about half way into shack so that your dead hard would put you just about the outside of the door and you just spam the hell out of that pallet drop button.

Another way to use dead for experienced players is to take a hit but not really at the hook.

If your team mate is being carried you can run into swinging range and use dead hard to avoid the hit. Some times they swing some times they don't, but never know so many times all it would have taken was 1 missed swing for someone to wiggle off.
