I feel like the magnifying glass shouldn't effect killers while they have Undetectable. That takes away like, half their power. I mean, Wraith literally only has stealth.

Sounds like a bug then.

It was relatable the first time I saw it. Because it was literally a match I had once. But it doesn't refute my argument or support yours.
Killers can bully survivors too. You can't deny it.

That sounds like Spirit, alright.
Possibly they were hacking.

yes and no
playing tombstone myers makes you derank
playing trickster before chaser fix makes you derank
I was playing both to derank but I was playing both legit
Ever heard of a smurf squad?
It's literally a SWF doing the same thing so that they can stomp weaker killers. Dropping from red ranks to green, or even to brown.
Doesn't that make your blood boil? The idea of a red rank SWF going against low rank killers on purpose? When they already have a massive advantage? Doesn't that sound completely unfair?
You are literally doing the same thing with Stridor Spirit.
You are taking something horribly broken and pitting it against people who have no reason to be able to deal with it.
I don't care how "legit" it was. You purposefully deranked. Because you wanted an easy-peasy curbstomp match. You are the problem.
Bad sportsmanship much?
-
I honestly love this idea.
If I could have any one change, it would be this. I would even give up fixed grabs or Plague for this.

I purposely deranked, why would I want to go against sweat with friends in red rank?
Whoa whoa whoa, you deranked on purpose?
So that means that you want to face survivors who are immediately at a disadvantage? Deliberately?
That is literally why SWF sucks. If you intentionally face people who you can crush with minimal effort, you've become part of the problem.
Conflict begets conflict, Tony.

Which role do you main?

Executioner needs a buff. I think something like if a survivor gets hit by the rites of the damned they get the tormented affect for a certain amount of time like a minute or so, sort of like Freddy but reverse.
Maybe that could be what the Goblet does in the event that they change it to be actually functional.

I mean, both the Survivor's Rulebook for Killers and the Killer's Rulebook for Survivors have some valid points to them.
Playing scummy isn't really excusable, and its good to know what the other side doesn't like, even if some issues don't have much of a solution, or the other side has some unrealistic expectations.
Also, I want to say to everybody that, even as a killer main, I cringed really, really hard while reading this. Mostly because I'm a nice, if irritable, guy.

You know, I thought I was the designated entitled killer main of this forum.
Some of your ideas aren't terrible, like this one, but you seem so unaware of the survivor side of things you seem like a killer version of Sluzzy sometimes.

The only complaints I really have is that it doesn't make much sense for Freddy to throw his mic, I think every one of the animatronics should have a completely unique power, and Bonnie jumping 20 meters into the air is kinda... insane.
But I really like the core concept.

Alright then, I'll keep the smoke. Honestly it's such an awful way to die as @Beelzeboop said.
Now this could just be me, but I also think it's eerie how he uses smoke, because in symbolizes that Furnace Head isn't even bothering to use it's full strength. "Where there's smoke there's fire." Furnace Head can't be even be bothered to use actual fire to kill it's victims, but instead just uses the smoke spawned from it.
*Slow clap of approval*

A lot of people are talking about DbD being turned into a dating sim.
I think it should just be an easter egg.
Look up "Fear and Hunger." It's an oppressively dreary dark fantasy roguelike RPG. It makes Dark Souls look cute and easy.
If you get the game's true ending, you unlock a new mode to play: Dungeon Nights.
It's a dating sim. You know, in case you wanted to bang the Crow Mauler who stalks you throughout the dungeon, or if you wanted to date an elder god of sacrifice.
Something like that could work for DbD.

Oof I like that mori. However Furnace Head doesn't use smoke but I could add that aspect to the character, I don't know why he would need to use smoke when he mostly uses his fist and axe, its not that the concept was bad it just felt way too similar to clown. Not that I'm saying qwqw shouldn't continue working, I want to see what the comes up with.
Honestly if Bhvr strangely wanted Pinebrook which is (extremely unlikely) to come into DBD, then I'll be glad to work with them. I would be scared if they literally make a pyromaniac killer that looks and acts exactly as FH does then I will not be happy in the slightest, good thing I copyrighted Pinebrook and have officially claimed ownership of it. Your not getting Pinebrook without talking to me Bhvr, no sir!
I also post something on your wall you can go check it out, I want to know your opinion on it
The reason I thought smoke would be interesting is because of how nightmarish suffocation is. Suffocation is among the worst ways to die, and the most common cause of death during building fires.
I think it works excellently for horror in particular because of the fact that humans have a visceral, painful reaction to it if they have even the slightest bit of empathy. It was actually the inspiration for the line "You were a person once. But now, all you are is screaming."
Plus, it leaves no actual wounds, so people can't say that you were just going for shock value without citing any actual reason for it.
If BHVR wanted Pinebrook for whatever reason, I trust that you would make them suffer for it, and force them to deal with longstanding issues. If they ever come talk to you or something, I want you to make some serious demands, with the excuse of not wanting to soil your brand on something as low-quality as DbD, and that they'll have to make some improvements if they want to utilize your work.
I read what you wrote on my wall, and I think that was the best way to handle it. It's hard to write directly about certain subjects without people thinking that you're fetishising them or treating them too lightly.
Indecency goes best with the technique of leaving things out. You'll find more about that under the trope "Nothing Is Scarier" on TVTropes.
Speaking of which, there's an index on horror tropes, which has helped me out a lot in the past. I suggest you take a look. Even better, if you scroll down on trope pages, you can see a section called "examples," which lists examples in various works from different forms of media, so give that a look.
Also, even though you aren't writing a game, I think this page could help:
Since fundamental plot concepts apply even here, be sure to check out the basics. In terms of genre rules, Survival Horror is as liberal as Postmodernism, allowing for a great deal of rule malleability and boundary overlap. However, since said … -
100% agree.

@Dabihwow. Alright, here's my finished concept for Furnace Head. Admittedly it's kind of rushed and not my best work, but I'm still curious to hear your thoughts on it.
What happens when a human releases all their stored rage, all their hatred? Furnace Head is the answer. A being crafted by the town of Pinebrook, it is the manifestation of anger, rage, hatred, distaste, and how we humans enact these feelings on others. It will mercilessly slaughter anything it sets its eyes on with a burning vengeance. With a motive such as that, it didn’t take long for The Entity to notice it…
Base Movement Speed: 115%
Terror Radius: 32 Meters
Height: Tall
The Smelter's power is called: Passion Of The Flames.
Special Ability: Choking Smoke
At any time during the trial, press the Power Button to unleash a cloud of otherworldly smoke that enraptures all of your current Terror Radius. Within the smoke:
- Survivors will cough extremely loudly.
- Survivors will have tremendously decreased vision.
- Survivors will suffer from the Oblivious status effect.
- Generators will automatically regress at a rate of 200% when not being actively repaired.
- Windows will only take two rushed vaults to become blocked by The Entity.
- Bloodlust is gained 20% faster.
The smoke will persist in the area for 30 seconds. Choking Smoke has a cooldown of 60 seconds.
Special Attack: Heart Of Fire.
At any time, press the Secondary Power Button to lob a small fireball. The Smelter is slowed down to 105% while charging the fireball. Hitting a survivor with the fireball will injure them one health state. Heart Of Fire has a cooldown of 30 seconds. Heart Of Fire has no cooldown if it is used in the smoke spawned from Choking Smoke.
The Smelter comes with three teachable perks.
Hands Of Blood: Their work will be their downfall. Every time a survivor gains 1,000 bloodpoints in the objective category, you gain the Undetectable status effect for 20/25/30 seconds.
Flaming Rage: Your hatred for them is so strong that it manifests itself physically. Every time you hook a survivor, every breakable wall, generator, and dropped pallet within 20/22/24 meters of you will instantly break.
Corrupted Minds: The human mind is fragile, and a withering corruption is eating away at your preys. Whenever a survivor repairs a generator to 50%, the next time they touch a generator that is not the repaired generator, it will be blocked by The Entity for 30/35/40 seconds.
This is really cool, to be honest.

I might make a mori where Furnace Head sets the survivor on fire
Maybe a Mori where they suffocate on smoke?
Furnace Head is gone. The survivor slowly stands up, looking around frantically for him. They start coughing. Coughing louder and faster, as smoke floods out of their mouth and nose, they realize whats happening. The camera slowly pans, circling around them as the area fills with smoke.
The camera reveals an imposing figure with red, burning, hateful light standing behind them as they double over coughing, tears streaming down their face. Cinders flow out from Furnace Head's body as he lifts his axe over his head, his breathing turning to a growl. The survivor barely has enough time to turn their head before the axe comes down on their back, slamming them back down into the earth.
Furnace Head's growling has turned into something between roaring and ape-like howling. Smoke pours out of the survivors wounds as FH hacks at them over and over and over, before he finally relents. Furnace Head kicks the body over, huffs, and turns around.

Half the people here think fighting fire with fire works in this case.
It doesn't. You just get more fire.

"you have to pay copious sums of money or be at a massive disadvantage." = you have to pay to have much more chance to win = "you have to pay money to be able to win more." = massive disadvantage = you will probably lose = lose is opposite of win = pay to not lose = Pay 2 win
Again, I will repeat myself (Which I really hate to do)
I did really well with a grinded killer (Oni) and with his and perks available to everyone (Sloppy, Nemesis, Bitter murmur and whispers) against sweat squads and I am a very casual and chill player.
You do not need to spend a single dime to be good. You need to practice and by the time you get decent you will already have enough to buy better perks because one pgtw means nothing to newbie unless he learns how to use it.
I understand that.
I've gotten at least 2 4ks against 4man SWFs, quite possibly more. I have two P1 killers and I'm going to prestige a third soon, and I do quite well as all of them.
But the issue is that BHVR pretty much never addresses the actual problems, and the only thing that they do to "fix" the issues is add perks that pretty much have to be bought with money. So clearly they know about the problems, and have an idea of how to fix them most of the time. That sounds a bit too convenient to not be deliberate to me.
I'm not disagreeing with you here, I'm just stating the facts.

Dude the twins can be quite insane with someone that's good, Viktor it's fast as #########, and can down multiple people. Trickster guarantee a down in short loop. How the trapper power hurt him? In the worst case scenario, it's not that useful, but hurting him? Feels strange to me
It takes months to become even close to functional as Twins, and they're getting nerfed soon. Pretty much only the scummiest tactics available actually work on Twins. Victor's pounce is too hard to actually hit a survivor with unless you're at point blank range, and even if you hit, you get significantly less reward for it than just M1ing the survivor. Plus, Victor can be taken out extraordinarily easily. There's a reason that everyone was impressed when ClownIsKing came up with a valid strategy for them other than camping, tunneling and slugging.
Trickster is overwhelming in one specific situation, worthless in pretty much all others. The fact that he needs to be at close range, moves at 110%, and his power slows him down functionally makes him a particularly bad M1 killer in most scenarios. He's either garbage or beyond god tier in any given scenario, with nothing in between. There's a reason no one likes to play as him or against him.
Trapper basically throws the early game in order to collect and set up traps that barely work and can be disabled and/or escaped from in seconds with no consequences unless the Trapper is running Bloody Coil. Plus, he relies entirely on survivors being absolute potatoes to even fall into his traps. If anything, its more likely for HIM to step in a bear trap than the survivors, and that basically pallet stuns him. There's a reason he's universally agreed to be the worst killer in the game.
Have you even played killer? Or even survivor, for that matter?
-
You gotta love how the Twins are one of three killers whose powers are actively detrimental to them, the other two being Trickster and Trapper, the worst killers in the game.
Victor is just an M1 killer but somehow weaker. Charlotte is literally just an M1 killer. The only thing they can really do that no other killer can do (and do better) is bodyblock.

You can do well with basic perks. Concept of pay 2 win is that you need to pay something to win according to its name, you can grind killers without needing to spend a dime besides buying the game.
Is it grindy though? It is. Perks you are talking about are not necessary to win, they just increase your odds, Pop is grindable.
Pay to win isn't literally "you have to pay money to be able to win."
What it means is "you have to pay copious sums of money or be at a massive disadvantage."
-
That would make new players slightly less screwed.
I'm all for it.
-
Hi, I'm a newer player. Just started halfway through last year, although you wouldn't guess that from my performance and understanding of the mechanics. Anymore.
This game is very much pay to win. I'm about level 50 (I only play an hour a day, sometimes less) and I have only gotten enough shards to buy four perks from the shrine if I wanted to. I've bought one thing from with shards, ever. It was Stridor (yes, I know how stupid that is). If I never spent any shards, I would only have enough to buy one character after one-and-half years.
This is an issue for me, since BHVR doesn't actually fix problems, and instead add perks for new characters. That I would have to buy with money. So that I can actually function.
I'm a Pyramid Head main. I bought PH with cells, because I love Silent Hills. Then I found out that I'm All Ears was nearly essential on him, and I couldn't exactly wait for the Shrine, so I had to buy Ghostface. Way after that I found out it's basically necessary to run either Pop or Ruin as killer, and if I wanted to run Ruin, I would need to run Undying too due to the ######### totem spawns, but Pop doesn't synergize well with Pyramid Head since his power is based around not using hooks.
So, if I want to still be in a world of hurt, but slightly less, I could buy Clown. If I want to essentially have one perk slot, but have a decent time, I would need to buy both Hag and Blight. Or I could wait four years for the Shrine to have the exact perks I need and for me to have enough shards to afford them at coincidentally the exact same time.
And that isn't even mentioning the fact that you start the game with exactly two killers that can actually function without an obscene amount of practice, those being Huntress and Wraith, neither of which are particularly powerful. Huntress just barely falls into the "viable" category, and Wraith just recently entered the "average" tier. And yes, I know that with enough practice literally any killer is viable, but lets be realistic here: what kind of sucker is gonna play Trapper for two years just to learn the ropes, getting stomped by potatoes four out of five times?
So, unless I spend an actually absurd amount of time or a slightly less painful amount of money, I'm going to be way, way, way weaker than I should be given my actual skill level. And I'm absolutely certain BHVR wants it to stay that way.

Why? Can somebody just give me a reason why we should keep this in the game?
Given that you refuse to accept what it would be like for killers if your change was implemented, no.
There is literally nothing anyone can say to convince you.
But your conviction doesn't make your argument any stronger.
-
It was a reasonable question, guys.
Stop being so toxic to each other.
-
Yes.
-
I like it.
-
Whenever I notice survivors getting screwed over by their teammates, I try to cut them some slack, IE letting them wiggle out of my grasp or leaving the chase when I should've had the hit.
I feel bad for you, man.
-
Can someone give me a transcript? Youtube doesn't work for me.
-
I understand that you have only the best intentions here, but due to the ######### "aim dressing" the devs have implemented, killers pretty much can't hit the rescuer during the unhooking animation, and instead hit the hooked survivor nine times out of ten, regardless or where the killer was aiming.
The result of removing hook grabs would be that the rescuing survivor would be essentially invincible during the animation allowing face-unhooks do be preformed with no consequences, although admittedly grabs are so unreliable right now that you would almost have to be facecamping in order to get the grab.
So, while I appreciate the initiative, the game has slightly more pressing issues that the inadequate dev team of only 300 people should work on, since they seem to lack the ability to work on more than 0.5 things at a time.
-
I have one.
Just one.
I made it myself.
