Where's the ######### D&D DEMGORGON?!
Where's the prince of the abyss?
-
I feel you.
This is literally what happened to me while trying out Myers.

You can take a beating.
When Injured, tap into your adrenaline bank and dash forward quickly to avoid damage.
- Press the Active Ability button while running to dash forward.
- Avoid any damage during the Dead Hard action
- You suffer from the incapacitated status effect for 3/3/2 seconds.
Dead Hard causes the Exhausted Status Effect for 80/60/50 seconds.
"We were walkin' through t'ginnel one night when a beer bottle flew past me, then another, and another. I thought to myself "Gonna 'ave some fun 'ere lads, let's get stuck in!". It were a right dust up, I swear down!" — David KingYou can take a beating.
Incapacitated doesn't stop you from vaulting or dropping pallets.
I don't think it would have literally any effect if survivors couldn't cleanse totems or fix gens for two seconds after Dead Harding.
Although not being able to open the gates could occasionally have an effect.
-
I made a perk like this in a killer concept I wrote a little while ago.
It also reduced survivors' ability to hear breathing and footsteps.
-
By the way, he posts Pinebrook stuff on his Deviantart account. The entire site doesn't seem to be that bad from what I've seen, so it might be safe to take a look.

Wow, thats a lot of pages, what even is this if you don't mind me asking?
Dabihwow is writing a book series inspired by the classics of the survival horror genre.
Me, Glitchboi, and QwQw are assisting and supporting the effort.
There's more to it, but that's about the basic gist of it. If you'd like to join in, feel free.

A stealth killer with some sort of anti-loop.
Some sort of killer that actually ######### with survivors' minds.
-
I've wanted this since I came to the game.
The Thing is my absolute favorite horror movie monster, surpassing even the Alien.
-
- Increase the cloud size of the purple bottles
- Decrease the cooldown of throwing bottles
- Five bottles base, both colors have their own bottle inventory
- Yellow bottles do not have any activation delay
- Yellow bottles only effect clown
- Increase the effect and duration of the yellow bottles
-
Unfortunately, there pretty much aren't any other games out there that let you play as a monster or something similar out there.
I want to play as a powerful, intimidating monster, hunting down actual players as they struggle to stop or escape me.
Unfortunately, there is literally no known game that isn't dead or dying that lets me do that, so I have to stick with Get Bullied Simulator 2016.
-
3k, but I'm good with almost anything if the survivors can hold off from being obnoxious #########.
Seriously, why is it that pretty much every single survivor waits at the exit gates and brings the most annoying possible perks and then complains that the queue times are so long? I mean, if it were only 70% of the survivors I faced, that would make sense, but not 98%.
-
I've been getting an absurd amount of swamp maps lately.
I wonder if there's an issue with the map rotation?

Forgot to tag @Beelzeboop.
Anyway, yeah, this just makes more sense. Helps to set up Penny's character more.
Ha ha, you don't need to tag me.
We've always been there.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NI2PyUvTEUcBy the way, on an unrelated note, I want you all to check out Cry of Fear at some point. It's free on Steam, and has basically no system requirements, and it's one of the best survival horror games made that can still be acquired legally.
It's astoundingly good at times. It has some... rough patches, and it makes almost no sense until you've reached the end of the game (at which point almost everything makes perfect sense), but you can't expect an indie game made during the Slender era of horror on the same engine as Half Life to be completely perfect.
-
It already gives you a buff to totem cleansing speed.
Do you want totems to just not exist because one person took one perk?
-
DS/UB would have never existed.
-
Do:
Give every character/role a skill ceiling appropriate to their power level
Make most if not all characters able to be used at higher levels of play (though not necessarily competitive level)
Force the 4 to work together through mechanics
Give the 4 the ability to evade or combat the power role with some reliability
Make abilities that are both unique and fun to use
Enforce interactions between the 4 and the power role
Make the power role slightly more powerful than the 4 combined
Listen to the playerbase to get a slightly better idea of how to balance the game
Don't:
Add hard counters of any kind unless players can change their loadout mid-game
Make counters completely reliable to the point of inspiring complacency
Make it essentially a hide-and-seek game
Make one side grindier than the other
Make one side require less total effort to win
Forget about the basic rules of game design
Give the 4 too many offensive abilities
Give either side more or less information than they should reasonably have
-
Lightburn should just be removed.
It's a stupid mechanic from back when items were supposed to counter powers.
Flashbang is fine. Lightburn is the problem.
-
You know, for a killer with less range than Myers, the Devs seem to think that he's more deserving of typical mobility or ranged killer counterplay than Nurse.

Stepping right outside the exit gate to evaluate a situation is not "screwing up bad." The gate was open and I was in full health. No killer, unless NOED/haunted ground/devour hope is active or an earned power, should have the ability to instantly down a survivor. Its not all about the killers. If a survivor makes it through the match and is able to get the exit gate open with the killer nowhere in sight then the killer should not have so much power that they can negate the value of all of that by simply pressing a button for a power that is default for you because they're now at the exit gate too. Its too much reward for too little effort. What are killers going to want next? Exposed status for all survivors in the exit gate? Maybe this would have made more sense if I actually made it to the hooks and attempted a save. If I die there then of course that is my fault and it was a risk I took to try to save my team. That actually happens a lot to me but at least I tried. In this case though it didn't make sense to me to lose it all so quickly just for being right outside the exit gate and an instant down power killer was there. Sometimes killers just feel overly rewarded for not doing so much. I know a lot of that is situational but sometimes it feels unreasonable to me.
This is actually somewhat sickening.
One hit downs have been in the game since the beginning. There are always obvious tells and counters (except NOED). If you can't deal with that, just don't play the game. They've always been here, and always will be here. There is no changing that.
You waited at the gates instead of leaving like you should have, lacked the minimal situational awareness needed to realize that an obese 6' 8" man with a red spotlight coming out of his eyes and a heartbeat that can be heard from half a mile off was revving a chainsaw within six meters of you, and then blamed it on him?
And you knew it was Bubba. Unless, of course, the nearly map-wide chainsaw and pig noises somehow didn't tip you off, in which case your opinions on this topic are actually completely worthless.
I don't care what your intentions were, that was beyond stupid. That was the worst possible move you could've made. Almost no one would have done that. Saying that doing something that dumb when the risk was that high, and then failing to own up to it in the slightest, and then blaming the killer is the most vomit inducing entitlement I've actually encountered.
The fact that you don't even bring a valid complaint that doesn't apply to six different killers that almost no one says are overpowered (and in fact, several of them are underpowered) just makes this that much worse.
I'm not even gonna discuss the hypocrisy of the "killers just feel overly rewarded for not doing so much" line. The amount of second chances that require little to no input survivors have is insane, and there's no point in saying otherwise. When the killer relies on survivor mistakes to succeed, second chances are overwhelmingly powerful. Getting them almost for free with no effort is ludicrous.
Just give up. He's a mid-tier killer. He's the same tier as Doc on most lists.

Lol now that is bait! And really bad bait at that.
Is it impossible for you to not be completely horrible to other people for more than thirty minutes?
It's completely possible that someone had a experience that isn't exactly the same as yours and taught them a different lesson. If that lesson happens to be that a good deal of the people they interact with deserve more respect, then that's a good thing.
-
Unnerving Presence should have some actual penalties. Right now it's actually helpful for survivors if they've played the game for more than half an hour.
So here's my rework:
Unnerving Presence
Your presence alone instills great fear.
Survivors in you Terror Radius suffer a 5/10/15% penalty to repairing, unhooking, totem cleansing, and sabotage.
The success zones of all Skill Checks within your Terror Radius are reduced by 30/40/50 %.
"It's presence befalls us."

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2296907#Comment_2296907
Honestly, completely agree with this. If we're keeping perk tiers though, how about making all tiers let you track every Survivor but make being hooked remove only 1 tracked teammate at tier 3, 2 at tier 2 and all 3 at tier 3? Another small idea I have for Aftercare is that it could also activate on protection hits and flashlight/pallet saves.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2296881#Comment_2296881
Also agree with this. There are plenty of ways you could regain tokens, but personally I think that some kind of altruistic action would work great as they'd pair with Aftercare well (especially if they added protection hits and saves to Aftercare).
As for Breakdown, I would say one (or multiple, idk) of these:
- It also breaks the hook of a teammate you unhook for the full 180-second duration.
- When you get unhooked, 3 other hooks on the map (random, doesn't choose already broken hooks) will be broken for 45 seconds.
- Let this count as sabotages and award you the BP for it (this one is just so that people can do the sabotage hooks challenges faster because nobody enjoys these challenges let's be real).
I think the second idea for breakdown seems like it would be extremely frustrating to deal with. The first and last seem great, though.

Nah, Whispers is great as is. It effectively gives survivors a terror radius. Even after having 80+ perks unlocked on a killer, there’s a use here.
Except it doesn't give you any information other than "some amount of survivors within 32 meters." That is barely useful.
The Terror Radius tells you how close the killer is and often tells you who the killer is, so you can not only prepare for their arrival, but for their power as well.

One add-on: Dead Rabbit on Myers.
Two add-ons: Calm and Order on Doc.

NOOOOOO.
They absolutely needed a nerf. Not the nerf they got, but a nerf nonetheless.

That would be a fun buff.
Even better if the dead survivors could take control if they want to earn some extra BP post mortem.

I wasn't hiding in the exit gate. I was outside the exit gate by a wall. Get it right next time before replying to my post will ya? Some survivors actually do try to save their team in the end game even against all odds.
If you pull a risky tactic, you can be severely punished for it.
That is literally what a risk is.
If you do something so insipid, you need to accept the consequences for your actions and learn from your mistakes.
You screwed up. Bad. You can't just blame it on the killer, who can only win by punishing you for your mistakes.
Play exclusively Bubba at higher ranks for a while. He's easy, but no where near as strong as you suggest.
-
That would actually be really cool.
I would only implement that after buffing solo queue, though, as part of the killer buffs to compensate.
In other words, get on it, Behaviour.
-
It's not unfair, it just works like old DS on a shorter timer:
Complete invincibility in almost any scenario, and the killer doesn't know you have it until it's too late. Being easily abusable is just how that perk functions.

Ability:
Shadow Dance - so a much cooler version of twins, but i think the cooldown is way too long, maybe 20s is better (how are survivors Oblivious AND hear the terror radius as the killer is within 4m of them - it can only be one of them, they cancel each other out)
Dark Delirium - interesting
Perks:
Skulker - weird, seeing your red stain is pretty useless, because it's just in front of you
Ransom - interesting
Hex: Paranoia - maybe a bit too strong
I mean, Trickster and Slinger are a lot like Huntress, so there's that.
The TR is illusory, so it doesn't really have anything to do with the actual TR. Oblivious removes reliable information, and the illusory Terror Radius gives unreliable information. Plus, they can't see the Red Stain.
The cooldown was made deliberately intense. You're not supposed to have your shadow out all the time, and I didn't want to give some arbitrary penalty for getting stunned or lightburned.
Skulker is mainly for people who play Demo and newer players. Think of it like Zanshin Tactics.
Paranoia needs to be unusually powerful to be justified as a Hex totem... but you're kinda right. Imagine this combined with M&A on Myers or Slinger. That would be an actual nightmare.
-
That... isn't the case at all.
The devs don't listen to anyone.
Plus, Otz plays both sides really, really well. He's respected for a reason.

Just make vaccines not disappear and combine the current effects with the old one.

A little bit yeah. They're not wrong though. They didn't address the optimization issues and just did a bunch of minor bug fixes.
"Hey, Clown is still unplayable, and sure, RPD is too, and the game may be a little bit more likely to crash than modded Fallout: New Vegas at any given moment, but now you can't make memes about invisible pallets or break linked sets!"
And they didn't even actually fix sets completely.

I've got this idea for a character but wanted to hear your opinions first. The idea of this character is a character who desires power, to feel above others, to belittle those below them, and doing this out of pure pleasure. Doing these actions for they never had a taste of that kind of power before and will go to violent means to feel that said power. it was an idea I found while researching Silent Hill, and was loosely inspired off of Eddie Dombrowski, but instead of killing those who made fun of them, they kill out of pure pleasure, and not to take vengeance. But it was an Idea I wrote loosely on paper let me know please and thank you
Sounds a bit like Herman Carter, but more fleshed out as a character.
I honestly like it.

But it has to be a specific strain, and as a T mutant they can't convert you. All T-virus mutants have to be made on purpose, unless they're already infected with another virus, such as the A-virus.
Anyway, my memory isn't that good, so that might all be bullshit.

Unless you're one of like three people, you die.
If you are one of those three, you turn into a super powerful monster (Nemesis, Mr.X, C l a i r e).
