  • I guess we are coming to the point were Killers really want Survivors to spawn on the Hook.

  • Always good to start with something negative as the first post.

  • "not even stall the game little bit"

well, it was stalled a little bit. Not much, but still a bit.

    What Perks did you use?

Otherwise, look at the Link provided, Scorpionz is a godlike Pig Player (and in general a Killer Main worth to watch since he is good at the game but not bitching when he loses), there is a lot of useful stuff in his guide.

Do you know what toxic means? Its clearly toxic it ruins the fun

I think that "toxic" is a term which is used way too often for stuff which just makes one side lose. This is an example.

  • At least it might be an option for the Devs to remove the Killer priority when it comes to Hit Detection. I guess they are considering it, so lets hope for the best.

The things bothering me about DS are

eating DS after the guy was healed up

survs forcing DS by locker jumping, body blocking or staying on an objective etc

Idk how to fix that but tbh I would completely change DS

"survs forcing DS by locker jumping, body blocking or staying on an objective etc"

    How does someone force?

Locker-->Dont open it? Or dont go for him in the first place?

    Bodyblocking-->Slug?

    Staying on Objective-->Lunge into Slug?

  • More Ranks will most likely result in longer queue times. Especially for low Rank players.

But I agree on the harder Rank Reset. It used to be bigger, someone who was Rank 1 got reset to Rank 11 (or something around that). Now someone who is in Red Ranks only gets reset to Rank 5. I think that the changed Rank Reset is one of the factors which leads to unfair Matchmaking and also "helps" that people are in High Ranks who simply dont belong there.

So yes, a change would be great.

You can use swap with unnerving by the way, these perks are not teachable they are available for everyone. And everywhere is pallet in some maps. You cant deny it. Suvivors can run to pallet to pallet until the end of the game and that is not skill. For swap, you can use it with overcharge, unnerving to make an impossible skill check build.

Impossible Skill Check Builds are so boring. Even to play as, this was the same with 3 Gen-Doc. It is boring because at some point the Killer does not commit to a chase anymore.

    What Rank are you at?

  • Eagle Sight-> Eh, no? Whispers is already a good tracking Perk, even tho it requires a little bit of practice to get used to it. This Perk would just be braindead. Like, use it and you see where Survivors are. Way too easy.

Swap-> This would only hurt inexperienced Survivors. Good Survivors dont have any problems with hitting difficult Skill Checks (this is why Overcharge is such a weak Perk). So it would do nothing at high Ranks and be pretty frustrating at low Ranks.

All Organized-> Hell, no. "slightly decreased"? There can be Maps with 8 Pallets. I would not count 2/3 Pallets out of 8 "slightly". Most Maps have like 8-12 Pallets so having around a fifth to a quarter less... No.

  • How were they toxic? Did they win? Did they do Gens? Or... looped?

  • +1

Was not able to vault the Window on the Big Drop on the Game while in Frenzy.

Seems like it affects Windows with high drops.

  • I would not classify DS as an Obsession Perk anymore since you might not be the Obsession right at the Start of the Match. You might become the Obsession, but this can already be a Downside because you might be a potential target for Rancor then.

Of course someone can argue that it can be a Downside that the Perk might not have any use. But this would mean the Killer did not tunnel and sadly this does not happen that often.

  • Can we give a Downside to BBQ? Or a Downside to PGTW. Or a Downside to Discordance.

I do. And about half of the flex/survivor mains does too. The other half should be reminded that it’s a horror game where random things supposed to happen and you only have limited information often coming from perks to work with and not a forking SWAT team organizer simulator.

Nearly no SWF-Team si a SWAT.

But ok, I will stop playing with my friends.

To be fair the devs said that according to data 4man sweaty ass SFW are only like 1-3% of the player base thus getting rid of them wouldn’t hurt the game at all. On the other hand, when it comes to removing them the same arguement pops up every time that the majority if players are SFW and getting rid of them would kill the game. (which is both self opposing and stupid because the game is large enough to keep going even with like 40% of it’s current playerbase)

If the rest of that 97% is nearly all swf than it’s most likelly 2 mans that should be the only way to play together imo. And I don’t think anyone has a problem with those. Only the 3-4 gangs has to go.

Neither has to go because being in an SWF does not make someone a godlike player.

It's not skipping hooks, it's a catch up mechanic. Last game I just played a Legion had 1 hook with 1 gen left. Theat person then got Mori'd, and what do you know, they ended with a 3K. Not possibnle without Mori.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1270629#Comment_1270629

You're assuming I don't know what I am doing as a Killer main, and you actually make 0 point here towards the convo.

Well, I can only use myself for comparison - I am Rank 1 as Killer and almost never use a Mori. And I am not good as Killer, not at all.

So if you need Moris to win games, yeah, you probably dont know what you are doing.

  • And meanwhile a lot of Killers win without using Moris. I guess they are not that needed.

  • "Block swf"... You dont want to play DBD anymore, do you?

I bet that one will get patched sooner than anything else.

It's what they did to Spasmodic Breath.

I guess those Bugs are pretty easy to fix. If I am not mistaken the huge amount of Nurse-Bugs is due to Dedicated Servers. Because Dedicated Servers got live (on PC) when the Nurse Rework hit Live.

And I am pretty sure that Dedicated Server-Bugs are harder to fix than anything else. Vaults took so many months to be fixed for example.

But I 100% agree, Nurse needs to get fixed in regards to her Bugs. It is simply nonsense that people want to start Balance-Discussions about Nurse when she is not working properly, because it is really difficult to get an idea how balanced she is right now. And this makes it also harder for the Devs to look at her.

I'll admit I may be incorrect about this but when Oni first came out I know you never left blood orbs when running No Mither.

As I never really use the perk my testing/knowledge is very outdated.

You leave Blood Orbs with No Mither and this was never different. So having a No Mither in a team is Onis wet dream.

But DBD could be so much more scarier. You will always feel tense when playing games like Resident Evil, Amnesia or Outlast but DBD loses its scariness way too quickly. It's a bad sign when a horror game is more comical than scary. This game has potential, they should buff the horror side of this game up to make this game if not more scary then just more tense.

"You will always feel tense when playing games like Resident Evil, Amnesia or Outlast but DBD loses its scariness way too quickly."

While I agree that Outlast and Amnesia were scary (btw there will be a new Amnesia later this year, I am hyped), how long were those games? 10 hours each?

Play them 5 times and then tell me they are still scary. This would be 50 hours of DBD. Surely a game will not be scary after playing it for a long time.

  • This would not be possible because the Devs would need to create a Prestige-Variant of every Cosmetic. This is a lot of work for probably no real Outcome.

  • I think you need a lot of Reports before anything is happening. Which is quite a shame.

  • Because it is a super-old Perk. And it does not only work against Bear Traps, it is also giving more Unhook Attempts.

But the Devs said on a Livestream that they will remove the Bear Trap-Part from Slippery Meat (so nerfing it, lol) in the future, because they dont want a Perk to interfere with a Killers Power in that way.

  • It is more the SWF-Change and the Rank Reset Change. SWF-Change resulted in longer queues for Survivors from one day to another while Killer was vice-versa. This is not a shortage of Killers.

And, I dont know why this is happening, but before that Change I got matched against some Streamers I know who play Killer every evening. But since this change I only had it two times that I got matched against those Streamers (one time the match being cancelled because someone crashed in Loading). And this is simply odd, they are playing at the same time, at the same Rank I am and usually I encountered them once or twice a week, and now it was only two times in several months.

And if you see the Matchmaking Posts, most of the time Low Rank Killers need to go against Red Ranks Survivors, often SWF. This is most likely because of the Rank Reset Changes. Before someone who reached Rank 4 would have been reset to Rank 13 or something like that, meaning that he would be in the Range for a Rank 15 Killer. But now they get reset to Rank 5, which is out of Range. And eventually, everyone will end up in Red Ranks.

So I guess those Matchmakings happen because both the SWFs/Red Ranks and the Killer (who is low rank) have long queue times, which then put them up against each other at some point.

(Personally, SWF-Change AND Rank Reset Change should be reverted. The Ranking System is not perfect, but it worked out... In German there is a word for trying to make things better but make them worse "verschlimmbessern", and this is basically what BHVR is doing right now)

Plague’s Corrupt Purge lasts a minute, is buggy, sometimes phases through a survivor, AND is gone if she gets stunned. It’s just a weaker version of Oni’s Blood Fury.

She only has one pool if survivors don’t cleanse (unless she brings in apples). You can hide and wait out her Corrupt Purge. You can break line of sight or crouch behind cover at certain loops. Of course if you’re out in the open then you are dead like with most killers.

I normally agree with most of your posts but I wanna know how on earth is Corrupt Purge overpowered when it has a bunch of counters?

I mean, the Bugs should not matter in Balance Discussions. Those will (hopefully!) get fixed at one point.

I think it is a good sign when something is too strong when Survivors decide to run around as Oneshots while making noise which cannot be surpressed by any means. There are the usual occasions where Survivors just stay injured because they want to heal via Adrenaline, have Vault-Build or whatever, but this is usually paired with Iron Will which does not do anything against the coughs.

The biggest issue for me I guess is that only a little, little bit of Corrupt Purge need to hit to inflict Damage. So I was thinking about making it a bigger amount that needs to it for doing Damage and then a (quite significant) Slowdown for the Survivors when being sick. Even tho, I am not sure if BHVR would like to add this, since one of the main points against old Freddy was the big Slowdown in Dreamworld. But also something like that the Survivor will be put into Dying State after X amount of time when being sick would work out.

Of course this would need some Balancing because in the end, Plague should not be weaker. Powerwise she is in a fine spot, but for me, she is boring to play as, because in nearly all of my games once everyone is broken, I did not have anything other than my M1, which is a Oneshot at this point, but quite boring. And she is frustrating to play against because once someone is on the Team who cleanses (sometimes not even full-infected...), it is really, really hard to evade her Corrupt Purge.

  • Wasnt it available for free once they spread the News that they will stop working on it?

  • @HellDescent said:

So is it possible to turn off cross-play on pc or do they just force you into it?

If you opt-out of Crossplay you only get matched with players who also opt-out of it. So you are basically forced into it, since not many will have opt-out and you will have super-long queue times.

Why is that a problem? Survivors are skins and thats not an issue, why would this be?

Survivors being Skins is already kinda boring, especially because a new Chapter only gives a new Skin and 3 useless Perks to Survivors.

New Chapters for Killers should not be the same.

Let alone that you would need to create animations for every Skin and Power. This will not be possible for licensed Characters (I doubt that the LIcense Holders will be happy when Myers starts drawing in Mud or Freddy starts using the Chainsaw of Leatherface). And some would simply look outright stupid, the Devs designed Hag the way it is because her Power fits her appearance.

It would look stupid if Oni would have Hags Power, for example. Or a small Killer like Freddy Onis Power.

  • This would make Killers to Skins. Nothing more.

  • Yeah, also facing more Bamboozles since the Patch. But this happens every time, when something is bugged, players have to abuse it. Sad.

  • And with every new Killer people come to the forum and say how weak they are. We had this with Deathslinger, with Oni... And many more Killers.

Cant wait for the PTB when players come to the Forum after 1 game with/against the new Killer and calling him OP and UP.

  • I also wrote in another Thread that the quote that this is an "emotional milestone" could be referring to Jason. But well, could be anything and just marketing.

I guess we will know in two weeks.

  • There is no visible Entity Blocker. This combined with the fact that they reduced the distance where you hear it (a few Patches ago) makes it difficult to notice sometimes.

(Strangely I see more Bamboozles lately...)

  • Most fun Killer to play: Pig and Billy (when not bugged)

Most boring Killer to play: Freddy and Hag

Most fun Killer to play against: Good Billy who goes for Chainsaws a lot

Most boring Killer to go against: Freddy

Also dislike Huntress, not because she is boring to face, she was one of my favorites to go against. And then Dedicated Servers came.

  • Sadly doing Gens is the only option to not feed more Kills. For the guy on the Hook - stay there, should not kill himself. Sucks for that person but thats the only thing that can be done.

Personally I only get mad when I see people crouching near the Hook waiting for an opportunity - because that Killer who did not move for almost two minutes will totally move before I die...

Sadly NOED exists and might give a second Kill to the Killer because "doing Gens" and "search for all Totems" is not possible during the time one person gets facecamped.

  • @Stehpflanze said:

Hag: NOED, Thrill of the hunt, lightborn, Thanataphobia.

I just tunnel the first survivor I see and camp the hook for the rest game. Basement is my wet dream. I use NOED because you can't win against all these disgusting gen rushers so I punish them for playing the game with a perfectly fine and well-designed perk. This way I usually get another well deserved hook I can camp. Thrill makes sure I don't lose my NOED - you can't win without it. If it gets cleansed I just DC and report everybody. Lightborn because flashlights are ridiculously op and Thanataphobia because of the massive slowdown towards gen speeds.

This could have been a nice thread...

    @Topic:

    Pig - Monitor&Abuse, Whispers, BBQ/Brutal Strength, Enduring

Billy - BBQ, Whispers, Enduring, PGTW/Infectious

Trapper - Corrupt Intervention, Enduring, STBFL, PGTW

Doctor - BBQ, PGTW, STBFL, Brutal Strength

Those are the Killers I play quite regularly.

  • Quite a Bunch of people are using Macros so I guess the probability to get banned for using a Macro is pretty low.

And to be honest, as long as the Struggle Mechanic is as awful as it is, it should be understandable that players dont want to break their Spacebar when playing DBD...

  • First of, this is kinda a strange question because Myers and Nancy are as different from each other as possible. Usually questions here are about getting Killer A or Killer B or Chapter C or Chapter D.

If you play both Killer and Survivor and you would have fun with one of them regardless, I would go for Myers. Myers has some nice Perks (even tho I disagree with Dying Light being good, like mentioned above), but Safe the best for Last is a great Perk (if you play M1-Killers in general, you will like this Perk).

Also Myers itself has some fun gameplay in my opinion, he is a decent Killer and has some interesting Mechanics. His Add Ons also allow for some different Builds like using the Scratched Mirror on Lerys (which is more like a Meme Build, but can be fun) and in general he is quite well-rounded.

Nancy on the other side has one somewhat decent Perk with Inner Strength, but in my personal opinion she does not have any really good Perks. I am not using any of her Perks and I see them rarely be used in my games. If you are a Stranger Things Fan and want to play Nancy, I would guess you can go for her, but other than that, I think you will be better off with picking Myers.

  • To be fair, I did not quote you with my initial Post.

  • @OniWantsYourMacaroni said:

There are some killers that have already good chase and or tracking abilities (e.g Deathslinger,Clown,Doctor) but lack the map pressure/slowdown.

So i think more viable slowdown perks would be great. The only consistent slowdown perks that killers have is Pop goes the Weasel and maybe sloppy butcher.

And a perk that makes kicking gens really worth it would be great.I also think it would fit the theme of Brutal Strength

But faster Pallet Breaking would help with Map Pressure. Less time spend in Chase = less time for other Survivors on a Gen because they either get chased off the Gen or have to go for Hook Rescues.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1265891#Comment_1265891

No, but neither did you say anything of substance. You came here, ridiculed people for pointing out potential problems at the extremes of this build and then implied I was biased toward killers (even though I've been playing SWF with a friend and only played two killer trials these past few days I've been back).

You also didn't address the actual argument, which is that, combined, they provide too big of an advantage, as proven by the mathematics. If you agree with the numbers, then you agree with the argument, since the argument only has to do with the numbers.

I disagree that this is any problem. It will be a rare occasion, 4 man SWFs (and this will most likely be the only group running this build) are rare, and people dedicating to a Kobe Build will be even more rare and, just an assumption on my side, not the sweatiest people and most likely a bunch of friends who just want to have fun.

So I dont see an issue if there is a Build which differs from the Meta (and is not even new, this is used from time to time since at least a year).

  • Thought you were talking about that Troll Window on Family Residence...

But yeah, apparently you can get stuck at multiple Windows/Drops in the Temple. It should be disabled until fixed.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1265882#Comment_1265882

Personal attacks aside, which part of the mathematics do you disagree with?

Did I say that I disagree with the raw numbers? No.

But Slippery Meat and Up the Ante are some of the worst Perks. Using those Perks for a whole Build is not a big problem. Basically anything other than DS/BT/UB + Exhaustion Perk (or Iron Will/Adrenaline instead of one of those 4) is nice to see.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1265866#Comment_1265866

Which part of the mathematics do you disagree with?

Nah, dont worry, someone like you will have a problem with everything Survivors bring. I expect something like that from you.

That being said, dedicating a whole Build on Kobes is more of a Meme Build than anything else. Because each Perk Slot dedicated to Kobeing is one Perk Slot less for actual Meta Perks.

  • @OniWantsYourMacaroni said:

The problem with old brutal strength was that it was a mandatory perk on pretty much every killer because it helped you breaking pallets THAT much quicker so buffing the numbers to high could cause the same problem.

In my opinion 25% for Tier 3 could be alright but i would rather have an effect that kicked generators are regressing at a faster speed similiar to Ruin.

No need to have more Slowdown Perks. Killers are already using Slowdown Perks above everything else (while Tracking Perks and Chase Perks would also help with Map Pressure, because finding Survivors and downing them quicker also generates Pressure).

Brutal Strength got nerfed in Patch 1.7.0 which is quite a long time ago. I am not sure if it would still have the same impact as back in the day, because now there are more Perks to use for Killers.

I am open for a simple Number Buff, but I also think that Brutal Strength is currently a decent Perk.

  • Oh my, we got to the point where people complain about Slippery Meat and Up the Ante.

    RIP the Forum, I guess.
