  • I use them on my Killers, because there they are actually big enough to see them.

And I use them on female Survivors, I dont think they fit male Survivors.

  • Yeah, some Dude being a dick in Post Game Chat. Nothing new. I am not even entertained, there have been more creative insults.

Maybe they are, though that is not my experince. Mind you I can't say for sure since BHVR refuses to let you know who is in an SWF so you can actually gauge your performance after a match. The fact that you say they would win in solo as well also shows there is an obvious imbalance between Killers and survivors. There is also the fact that survivors get second chance perks while killers get none save NOED, which unlike survivor perks, has a built in counter.

"The fact that you say they would win in solo as well also shows there is an obvious imbalance between Killers and survivors"

Coming from my statement to this is kinda...meh. Sure, if they are better, they should win. Only because they are playing Survivor does not mean that they cannot be skilled or simply better at the game than the Killer.

This is a major flaw in this community - only because the Killer is playing the Powerrole does not mean they cannot lose.

Sure you do, I've heard it before, people on here claiming silly things like this. You are lying.

Maybe it is time to accept the fact that the really good SWFs are like 0,5% or maybe 1%, at best. And that they would probably also win when they are all Solo.

Killer complaining because SWF is a problem, not all maps where fixed, still tons of perks that are just ######### for killer while survivor has a ton of viable ones, including op ones, gens still go to fast, looping is dumb and should never have been added to the game. So yes, the game is better, but its still not enough. Killer should be fun, not stressful, survivor should be fun, not boring and easy, and a playground for sociopathic bullies.

Dude, I am a potato at playing Killer. Like, really Potato, I am not good. And even I manage to be at Rank 1 while mostly playing Pig and having fun while playing the game (most of the time).

Even winning vs 4 man SWFs, because being in an SWF does not mean that you are good.

So yeah, I guess you are doing something wrong.

Maybe I misread the original post, but I think it is "emotional" more so because it is the 4th anniversary of the game.

Could be possible. I thought he means "Chapter" as "Chapter"; but could also be because of the anniversary.

i'm a bit confused with the date: is may 26th the date for the reveal of the chapter or is it the date for the release of the chapter?

this little surprise he is talking about, when can we expect this?

A reveal, which means something like a Trailer.

Did I say more survivors were toxic? Nope. I said they were disproportionately toxic. As in "even taking into account that there are 4 times more survivors than killers (i.e.: taking into account he proportion of survivors to killers), survivors are still toxic more often than killers".

    Disagree on that one.

  • @venom12784 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1264596#Comment_1264596

Just because there are more survivors doesn't make the toxicity ok. You don't have to trash talk someone after a match

First of all, the word "toxic" is just a phrase. It does not have any meaning anymore, people consider everything what they dont like as "toxic" nowadays.

Second, being a dick is not a democratic process. Like, there are more Survivors so they are entitled to be dicks. What I meant is that it is just logical that there are more people who dont behave in a normal way, because there are more players in general.

(Furthermore, players will remember the "toxic" Survivor, but not so much the three guys who were nice)

  • @Orion said:

Nobody says killers are never toxic. What's (accurately) said is that survivors are disproportionately toxic.

What a surprise that you see more toxic Survivors when there are 4 times more Survivors than Killers. Mindblowing.

  • This line caught my eye in particular:

"This last chapter is a very emotional milestone for us and we cannot wait to share it with you."

This could be just marketing (which is very likely), but I would think that if they are talking about a licensed Character, it might be Jason. Even tho, I think this is quite unlikely and I would not even know what his powers could be. So probably only marketing.

  • Disagree on that one, even tho I was a little bit disappointed that 3 out of 3 Skins were available for Auric Cells only. But I prefer to have paid Cosmetics when in return the Chapters itself are quite cheap, which is the case for DBD.

Since you have 80k Shards, I guess you never spend them - but you could buy the non-licensed DLC-Characters with those Shards.

But what I hope for in the future - a time period where Outfits which are available for Auric Cells are available for Shards. This was done like 1 or 1 1/2 years ago and did not return. Would be nice to have something like that, maybe twice a year for a selection of original Character Cosmetics. The anniversary and Christmas would be good times, because they are roughly 6 months away from each other.

Umm, no. All you are doing is trying too get a hate train started because you don't like the dude. Watching Tru3 and being upset about SWF has nothing too do with each other. Plus Tru3 isn't even a killer main, he plays both sides equally. Sorry mate but they have nothing in common lol.

You don't have too like Tru3, but don't make up lies too try and insult him, criticize him for his actual mistakes, otherwise you just look silly and makes your arguments invalid.

The thing is indeed, it has quite a lot to do with tru3. I respect his attitude in some cases, because he is one of the players who tries that the other side will have fun (even tho, sometimes I think that this is getting some losses for him when he decides not to slug, because he does not like it, for example).

However, it cannot be denied that he is a reason why the community is how it currently is. Not so much like another Content Creator who I dont want to mention here, but still, tru3s mentality has brought a lot of bad things to this community, because he is quite vocal. Just look at his chat, the words "toxic" and "SWF" are constantly used together when none of the Survivors is doing anything wrong.

Besides that, tru3 gets an average of 3 Kills per game, despite him complaining all the time.

Other, more neutral Content Creators like Scott or Tofu are not that way and STILL do good as Killer. Because it is simply a fact that being in an SWF does not make someone a good player.

(And not to forget, tru3 covers his bias by using the "I play both sides"-argument, when all you have to do is listen what he is talking about to see that he is biased)

Because you have ######### that will do nothing but follow you trying to blind you. And the hit box for the light is way to big im getting blinded looking at walls, with my back turned, from the side, etc.

Which is great. Chasing one Survivor while another Survivor is chasing the Killer means that there are two people not on Gens instead of only one.

And most Survivors are bad with Flashlights anyway. Those 200 IQ Moves like "I will blind the Killer at this Pallet" are a good example for this.

  • I am more wondering why you switch directions so often instead of just following the Scratch Marks.

  • @luka2211 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1263899#Comment_1263899

you can walk when you can instead of running. You will lose distance in the progress, but I was able to recover 20 sec exhaustion in chases before.

This is happening pretty rarely. Just because this works when getting matched vs a brown Rank Killer does not mean that Exhaustion Add Ons are fine.

  • They are clearly outdated for the reasons stated. And I am pretty sure that they will be removed once the respective Killers get their Add On Reworks.

Simply without any sense that something which costs 3k BPs can negate a Perk. Just imagine the current Instructions Add On (removing Skill Checks) would have been introduced like this while old Ruin was present with old Toolboxes. Killers would have been raging.

The amount of seconds also does not matter at all. It can be 10 seconds of Exhaustion or 10 minutes, it will not go down in a chase anyway.

  • Yeah, of course. I wish it was back so badly, it ######### the Matchmaking and also lowers the quality of High Rank Games. Before you would know "A, Rank Reset is in a few days" when players who did not belong there made it to Red Ranks. Now you have this situation all the time.

And I still think that the reasoning given is simply stupid. They said it is because players who cannot play that much would not be able to achieve something other players, who play more, will get. Which is... logical? Thats the way it is in every Onlinegame.

  • I also would like to add that I think that this Map is too small now. When going for the actual size of the map, it seems fine, however, a huge Part of the Map is taken by the temple which does not leave that much room next to it.

I think this also can lead to situations where most structures are clustered in one area.

  • Phantom Saws are an old bug, this is happening for a long time. But it is quite rare, maybe it increased because he is a buggy mess currently tho.

  • + for a Rework. One of the most boring Maps to play for both sides. Pressing W and throwing/kicking safe Pallet after safe Pallet.

  • I agree to both, more Perk Slots and more BPs. The more BPs might not even be worth it most of the time anyway, I rather play 3 games of Killer to get 150k BPs instead of spending 2000 Shards. Even if it would be 250k BPs (which is a good number), those would be 5 Killer games.

Also, more Perks would be great, because especially with the Archives the Shrine tends to have really bad Perks. It is great that the Shrine contains Perks for the Archive Missions, but sometimes they are outright bad and not needed for regular gameplay. The last "Archive Shrine" was Tinkerer, Beast of Prey, Bond and Windows. While Bond is fantastic and Windows good for new players, Tinkerer and Beast of Prey are not good at all. And if we consider that Kate and Dwight are in the Tome, there will be Boil Over in the Shrine at one point, again, a Perk which is really bad.

So yeah, give us 8 Perks and raise the BPs. It will not be abused IMO, because it is not a small amount of Shards and eventually people who spend them on the Shrine will run out of Shards.

Than justify why I get hit with DS when Jane ran from the other side of the of map to get the unhooks just to punish me for capitalizing on Feng and Yui's mistakes!

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhke0kH3gD0

Sure you did not tunnel. But I would say that the majority of DS-Uses are justified. At least this happens when I am able to use DS, the Killer tunneled me, because I dont do stuff like that. I might be injured on a Gen with DS active, but this would be the same case without DS, since I dont run Self Care and not every Survivor wants to heal the guy who just got unhooked.

So yeah, I only use DS in a non-offensive way, and I guess I am not the minority.

However, seeing at this Clip you got 3 BBQ-Stacks (meaning 3 Hooks) and no Gen was done at this point. AND Jane was free to tunnel after using her DS. It does not look like that DS was a reason to lose a game.

  • Either Incensed Ointment or one of the Apples.

But not a big fan of Plagues Add Ons, either they end up useless when the Survivors dont cleanse (basically every Add On which deals with Corrupt Purge) or they become useless over time (like Vile Purge effectiveness).

  • First insult the other side and their mother.

Then open a Thread on the Forums to complain.

Nah, for real, I either say "gg" or nothing most of the time. If I feel that the other side played in quite a scummy way I say something like "teabagging isnt necessary" or "playing Freddy and using an Ebony?"... But those are rare occasions, most likely it is a "gg" or "ggwp" or I simply go into the next game.

Pretty sure I went full circle on every survivor that game. Anyways, wouldn’t expect you to think DS needs any tweaks anyways, it is the most powerful survivor perk which you so proudly defend.

Because sadly, DS is needed for the game. I would love to not use a Perk which might not be used anyway, but just play a Survivor game without any Obsession - the chance of getting tunneled is really high at this point. Because eliminating a Survivor as early as possible is the best strategy to win, and you will know that as well.

DS has counterplay, but Killers dont want to use this counterplay (aka slugging the Survivor). Which is also Map Pressure.

  • Yeah, I agree. Survivors dont get really good Perks while Killers get them on quite a regular basis. Best thing Survivors can hope for are "funny" Perks like Head On, but thats it.

But the difference is that Killers have a different playstyle between each other so some Perks which are released might be useful for some Killers, but useless on others. Good example would be Infectious Fright, great Perk on Oni, Billy and Myers, but bad Perk on a Killer like Hag. So most likely Killer Perks find more use because they might be good on specific Killers, while Survivor Perks have to compete with the Meta Perks - and will most likely be worse than them.

But I wish for some good Survivor Perks in the future. Nothing like Mettle of Man, but something which gives more than 9 useless Perk Tiers in the Bloodwebs.

    in Perks Comment by Aven_Fallen
  • It would be highly situational. Thing is that the Killer will not let you on the ground when you have a huge percentage of Recovery Progress, because the chase would have been long enough to remove the possibility of something like DS, so there would be no scenario where the Killer would not pick you up.

Unless he wants to slug, but at this point, Unbreakable would be the Perk which would have less conditions because it would also give a good amount of progress after a shorter chase.

The only synergy would probably be Flip Flop, but I doubt that players would dedicate two Perk Slots to something like this (except if they want to dedicate themselves to such a strategy, but this would be very niche)

  • @YuiKim said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1262989#Comment_1262989

It isn't a free escape and you can completely counter it by slugging, why not slugging now when ya'll killers slug 24/7...?

I already wrote it in another Thread - slugging to wait out DS seems to be impossible for some Killer Mains. Like, unacceptable. But in every other scenario, slugging is needed and a strategy and Survivors should not complain.

Yeah, it's been a Witch Hunt for months. The whiny side of the killer community is always switching from Adrenaline to DS every other month.

Maps got changes, gen speeds got changed and they still want easier wins.

Streamers? lol Someone showed me a streamer the day before yesterday who blatantly picked up 2 recently unhooked survivors and proceeded to complain about it.

Yeah, its funny, there is always at least one Perk where the complaints pile up in the Forums. I guess it is only enough until Perks like Camaderie or Wake Up are the only "viable" Perks left.

  • I mean, just look at him.

I did that and got punished for being to optimal, since you remember so well 😊

Nope, you did get punished because you picked someone up who had the potential to have DS instead of the two guys you had on the floor for a longer time.

But hey, you did not understand your mistake in your other Thread, so no reason to repeat it again. Stubborn people tend to stay stubborn.

Like I said, there are usually other Survivors. And if you are really worried that that one guy can do too much, you can slug.

  • Usually I played Solo and 2 man SWF. But since the last times I played Solo were horrible (1 out of 5 games was good..), I tend to play Survivor only in SWF.

If I play DBD and my SWF-Mate is not online, I go for Killer.

  • @Speshul_Kitten said:

You must’ve not read the part where I said when you hook other survivors.

Yeah, I have you in mind as that guy who complained about DS while slugging a whole team with 5 Gens left and too stubborn to pick one of the other two guys up instead of that one that might have had DS. Hard to turn that off.

But that aside, my statement stands - there are other Survivors. Go for them. And you will never have to complain about DS again.

If I am able to do that, a more competent Killer (and I have no doubt that you are one) will be able to do so as well.

  • Or, you know, you can go for different Survivors. Usually there are 4 of them.

  • @BunnyTheHutt said:

What kind of logic is this? So because people are in red ranks as killer, it's their fault for loosing? lol this makes literally no sense. OP is right, gen speeds are still too much and need nerfs. Killer's don't want free wins, but we shouldn't go into a game and think "yea this is a loss" before it even begins.

Nah, I mean that they probably dont belong to Red Ranks then. But Ranking up is too easy on both sides, so on both sides people who dont belong to Red Ranks are in Red Ranks. And think they should be there, which is wrong.

Besides what was already written, there is also a Scoring Event (Reunited)... And for me its simply wrong to see this pop up 3 times at the start of the match. Does not feel right.

  • @gatsby said:

In Red Ranks, you pretty much need a 4k to rank up. Blame the Devs not the players... even giving someone hatch and taking a 3k can give us Brutal Killer so we don't rank up

    Not really.

I think a big step would be to tweak survivor spawning. Without offerings, they should never spawn in 3-4 man squads and they should not spawn next to gens. Can't say a proper value as I don't know what is all behind it, but something like 16m away from gens would already help

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1261724#Comment_1261724

If it is correct that he ends chases in 10-15 seconds, he is probably at the correct ranks (ignoring the fact that ranks mean nothing atm)

I highly doubt it was 10-15 seconds. But it sounds better than "I took 2 minutes for my first down".

But I 100% agree that Survivors should not spawn together. Even tho, this might make it worse for the Killer since doing multiple Gens separately is better than hopping on a Gen with multiple people.

  • @Dehitay said:

Gen time used to be 60 seconds if I remember correctly. Increasing gen times didn't solve the problem last time and I doubt it would solve the problem if they did it again. The problem with gen rushing is that there needs to be something to slow survivors down between 1 gen and the next. I've for a long time suggested that every time one gen is done, every other gen on the map gets reduced to 50% of it's progress. Or you could reduce repair speed for a certain percentage each time a gen is done. Either way, increasing gen times a 2nd time is about as likely to solve the problem as the first time they did it.

"The problem with gen rushing is that there needs to be something to slow survivors down between 1 gen and the next."

Every game has something that should slow the Survivors down - The Killer. But if the Killer is not good enough, what should the Survivors do? Just yesterday I had a game where we got all Gens done in like 10 minutes? Maybe 8, but not less. And the Killer was like "While Gen rushing? No fun." while using Iridescent Head.

What exactly should Survivors do when the Killer is not able to interrupt them?

(To be fair, it was on Ormond and this Map sucks... So not entirely the Killers fault)

  • Even if Gen Time would be increased by 10 seconds, people will come here and cry they want additional 10 or 20 seconds.

If you have problems winning as Killer on those reworked Maps, you are probably at a too high Rank.

My thoughts are that a good solo team is just as devastating as a good swf team if the killer is unprepared. I get called out as swf tryhard when I go solo just because I know how to hit flashlight saves and bodyblock.

    ^ this.

Like, people speak about coordination. Something like "He is chasing me, do Gens"... When I play Solo and I am not getting chased, I am on a Gen. I dont need a SWF-Mate to tell me that.

People should stop using SWF as their excuse when they lose. Being in an SWF does not make someone a good player all of the sudden. And if 4 skilled players are in an SWF the result would have probably not been different when they would have been Solo.

I think what would work pretty well is at the end of a kyf game, each player gets 100 bp for each participating player for each minute the trial lasted. Does that sound abusable?

I think, if we go for 20 minutes (which should be a game where everyone would probably have max points when farming in a regular game) this would be 10k BPs. Sounds fine to me.

This is really nothing where it can be abused, but a little something.

  • There is no reason for the sake of gameplay why the Killer should be able to see the names and profiles of the Survivor.

    So it should be removed.

I thought the change was "game will look for a killer on the same rank as the top rank of swf instead of close to the average of ranks on the swf" to me that change was designed to ensure this kind of matches didn't occurred.

    Sure.

But right after this change the Lobby Times for high Rank Survivors and low Rank Killers went up. Surely you can act like there is a shortage of Killers out of nowhere (because it fits a narrative), or simply blame the change for that. I guess the worse Rank Reset is also doing a lot for that, someone who was Rank 4 before would have been Reset to like 13. But now they end up at Rank 5.

It is just logical that both changes combined kill the low Rank Matchmaking.

And well, my Tinfoil Hat might be tight on that one, but it is quite convenient that High Rank Survivors and Low Rank Killers get now matched to each other when both groups had long queue times before. I am pretty sure they changed something on the Matchmaking to have faster queues, but more imbalanced games.

And I am also pretty sure (even tho I cannot prove it) that reverting those changes would be way better for the game than some MMR-System which will not work anyway.
