I know, the hit is not the biggest problem. The problem is, looping.
What do you expect Survivors to do to survive?

This.
Most pallets are unsafe and there are a lot of dead ends. Getting chased sucks on this map.
Gens are too spread out and there isn't enough stairs to get up top. Getting pressure on this map sucks.
This map is bad for everyone. I hate it.
Thing is:
If someone thinks that Map is Survivor-sided, they should just try out Freddy. Even without spamming Snares, it shows how painful it is for Survivors.
The main problem for Killer is to navigate the Map. There is a Gen upstairs, the Killer knows that this is the Spot where a Survivor is. Yet, they cannot do anything about it, because they need to go to the Stairs which can be a full hallway away and then need to go the full hallway back to get to the Gen. But Freddy ignores it, Gen above you? Just teleport.
And then it is pretty clear why this Map is also not good for Survivor. Taking the main problem away from the Killer (by simply teleporting) shows that Survivors struggle to get ######### done.
For me personally, I mostly dislike the "randomness" of this Map. "randomness", because the Hallways have nothing to work with and as Survivor I have to hope that there is still a (unsafe) Pallet in the Room I am about to enter.
I guess with a few more safe Pallets in the Rooms and more ways to get up and down on the Map (like, one or two more Stairs (without breakable Walls) and one or two Drops) and more access to the middle area (4 instead of 2 access points) it could be quite a good Map.

You will always know where someone healing is in some capacity (barring Calm Spirit). If you are too far away, you'll be notified of their scream. If you are up close, you'll straight-up see their aura.
Not "always", there is a "Deadzone" of 4 Meters between those two Perks. But should not matter 99% of the time.

If throwing the force spawned 2 pallets let the survivor get away then it has served its purpose of stalling the killer and much like any other loop with a broken pallet it isn't wise to reuse.
I think you overestimate the safety of Midwich Pallets A LOT. They are not Hawkins-Level, more like Badham. Which makes them perfect playable as Killer.

I just want the game to be more balanced and the devs seem to agree that they need to slow down the game pace but keep telling yourself that a 17 second gen is balanced
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1365452#Comment_1365452
he also posted one with otz in red ranks when they did a gen in 17 seconds lmfao
Which he clearly won and they brought 3 BNPs.
FFS, this discussion again? Really, Killers who are bad at the game really try everything to get Gens as long as possible so that every Potato can win.

eh the clock tower double pallets can waste a lot of time if the killer misplays them but against any good killer they are a mildly strong ones.
Balanced landing into running to the clock tower's double will force the killer to break one and try to out mind game the other or just break both(Usually the former sense its so small its hard to mind game).
They are a Deathtrap. The Survivor will not get away without taking a Hit if one of those gets broken. Of course, if the Killer is bad, they will suffer on those Pallets, but if you consider the Killer being bad, then the Map is full of strong Pallets, this is correct...
-
Should we now start to balance around Rank 14-Killers? Lol.

This is RNG dependent. I was counting powerful pallets on the map on both sides and not counting the clock tower ones i have counted between 0-4 randomly spawning god pallets(You just have to take them there is no way around them) and around 2-8 strong safe pallets(more dependent on how the rest of the room spawns rather then the pallet itself sense other pieces I have noticed can spawn attacked to the pallet).
It can be either:Both 4 god pallets and 8 strong safe pallets can on the map
or
0 god pallets spawn and only 2 strong pallet spawns on the map.
So the map either spawn with no good pallets or LOTS of them with a large if not the largest variance in how many/how strong they spawn.
You consider the Pallets at the Clock Tower strong? The Clock Tower is a Deathtrap.
-
From easist to hardest (or better: best potential to worst potential):
SWF-->Killer-->Solo
But neither Killer nor Survivor are hard IMO.
-
Did you get access to a different version of Midwich?
Because there are not "TONS" of god pallets, it is more like 2-3 God Pallets. The Map is bad for both sides.

How did you think that pallets are not a "problem" for killers? It takes time. Time = A game's result changing factor
Ah somewhat competent Killer will manage to get a Hit on those Pallets.

There's going to be a legendary outfit for Spirit in the future, that could possibly be the SH nurse skin.
LeaksbyDaylight already removed the "Legendary"-Part. Besides that, I would assume that "Legendary" simply means it is a Set.
Other than that, I hope they dont release Legendary Skins for some Original Characters which turn them into Licensed Characters.
-
"I still wonder why you can't swap cosmetic parts when it comes to Cheryl's own other cosmetic set?"
The only logical reason would be that Konami does not want that the Skins will be used for mix&match. And then there is nothing BHVR can do about that. And they will also not confirm or deny this.
-
Anniversary Event Skin, so you faced a Hacker.
-
I did not notice any increase. Latest when someone killed themselves on first hook was when they were the first one hooked and after around 90 seconds nobody came for the rescue... And I cannot blame the person on the Hook for that.
But other than that, I dont notice any difference.

I had a chase last night upstairs that was just 4 pallets in a row that I couldn't get past without breaking it or a wall.
Idk i can't claim one or another im only 10 games on the map but I loose almost every time as killer. There is always a wall in my way for where I need to travel Always. But claustrophobic is silent hills signature
Idk if I play it more it might reveal itself but for me its too early to tell.
Walls are a different thing, way too many of those, agree on that. But safe Pallets are not very much on this Map. The biggest problem for Killer on this Map is to navigate on it, there is so much distance that needs to be traversed to get to a Gen (which is technically only a few meters away, lol). But it is also not good for Survivors, the Hallways have nothing to work with and as Survivor you need to hope that there is a Pallet left in the room you want to enter, and even then, those are unsafe. And well, finding Gens is a challenge...
Played Freddy on the new Map and it was a cakewalk, because Freddy does not care about the patrolling issues.
So yeah, I hope they go over that Map. Or maybe I need to play it more with both Killer and Survivor, but currently I would say the Map is visually a 11/10, but gameplay-wise not the greatest addition ot the game.
-
@emptyCups said:
The new map has alot of pallets that you have to break that are in the way and you can't get past without them.
There are like 2 really safe Pallets on the new Map.
It is not really a good map for either side, but the Pallets are not the problem for Killers.

I feel like we should be able to play how we want.
Also - player count is largely stagnant. Hasn't really gone up or gone down. It's not pushing anyone away. Even more than that, survivors have more bully power than killers could ever hope to in this game.
Why do you mention "bully power" when every should be able to play how they want? So it is completely fine for Survivors to ruin the Killers experience (even tho Killers are better at doing so, because a Survivor cannot do that much to a Killer, if they have a thick skin (which most dont have)), because they can play how they want?
And well, regardless whos "bully power" is higher - one side doing Bullshit does not justify the other side doing Bullshit.
-
"I feel like being a survivor main you could care less about playing the new killer and more about countering him."
Lol.
What about letting people play what they want? If someone is a Survivor Main they are also allowed to play Killer. Or are those evil Survivor Mains increasing your queue times?
On PC, Killer Queue Times increased, but this is logical due to the new Chapter. Survivor Queues are instant/very fast (even in the evening).

Why punish me for that tho? That’s like everyone bullying a legion who is susie or joey really.
Because people who are doing that are simple-minded. They think it is some kind of protest if they ruin the experience of players who paid the money for the (I have to admit, quite bad, because it lacks any features which would justify the price IMO) Lisa-Skin.
So yeah... Guess you can "thank" that kind of people.
-
My guess would be that Legendary Skin simply referrs to a Set. So it will be Spirit, but no mix&match.
-
They know about those Bugs. I guess (and this is a complete guess) that they wanted to change his animations a bit, because he had a normal walking animation when carrying a Survivor, even tho he is usually limping. And while doing so they broke him.
But like I said, this is a complete guess.
-
The Key is to not have a life.

Quite impressive that you almost got to P3 while still avoiding it.

@nightingale said:
I agree it would be great but what about Quentin. I mean almost none plays with him same with Tapp
I think only original Characters.
I am pretty sure you would need the agreement from the License Holders of Texas Chainsaw Massacre and of those who own other licenses. And this would be too complicated.
-
I would like to have more Bubba Masks to collect them, it was quite fun to hunt Jakes for the Cosmetic (at some point I switched to Bubba when I had a Jake in my Lobby... Number 25 was an Object-User who got facecamped, so I also played like a true Bubba).
So I would like to get more Cosmetics for Bubba, even tho some Survivors will take a while to get (assuming only original Survivors are possible, someone like Adam would take the longest I think).
If it is possible when it comes to the license... Unlikely. At least it is nothing which BHVR would put on top of their list, because in the end, it will not generate any money for them.

It definitely would've been an incentive to leave Ruin up a little longer, especially if you could hit skill checks.
I personally haven't seen very many Ruins. Maybe 4 in the last 30ish games. Most people run PGTW and/or Corrupt.
I see Ruin in like 1/4 of my games. Currently a little bit more, but this could simply be because Pyramid Heads dont have that many Perks yet (or also because they dont use PGTW because of Cages).
But I only notice it for like two weeks that there are more Ruins than before.

"Survivor Main" as an Insult :^)
Look, its fine if you want to play like that. But dont get mad when you get called out for that.
-
Original Killers (which are created by BHVR from their ideas) are available via Shards.
Licensed Characters (from Movies or, in Pyramid Heads case, videogames) are not available for Shards. In the end, the License Holder wants money as well and they will probably not be happy if their License will be given away for free.
-
Is it really Adept or can you use a forth Perk for the Archives? Currently in an already long Killer Queue and I dont want to leave that, lol.
But for an Adept, getting a 3K is pretty lame. As always, I am for 4 Sacrifices and everyone will be happy. Including me, because I can try Adepts without playing Basement Bubba for like 300 games to derank to green.

It is nice that they lowered it to 30 seconds. I got it in Level 3 already (because I got the 60 seconds and escaped) in my 8th match or so as Dwight.
But I appreciate that it is easier.
-
Many people playing Killer currently. Expected after a new Patch. I usually have high(er) waiting times during this time of the day as Killer, now it is even higher.
What bothers me is that I first got connected to a 300 Ping-Server, followed by a 130 Ping-Server (which I then played, together with Survivors who had 150 Ping+)...
-
Well, there are people thinking that players who bought the Lisa-Skin should be punished for supporting BHVR for creating such an expensive Skin (which does not alter anything appart from the appearance).
Of course someone who thinks like that is truely special.

Is an Ingame Report for Hacking enough? Just had this guy:
Clearly Hacking, he had the Fog Whisperer Charm and the Tome 3 Level 4-Charm (which was not obtainable until 5 minutes ago).
So is it enough to just report ingame? Will this be looked at if its an ingame Report?

Recently? They patched it out over a year ago so when was the last time you actually had it happen, if it’s been since then it’s a bug.
Probably a few weeks ago. But I sadly have no way to test it except for live games, because I only have one friend playing DBD.

It definitely does not give a stack for flashlights or pallet saves, or for un trapping someone unless you’re eating a hit at the same time.
It does.

Killers: Possibly either Legion, Spirit (minus Halloweed Blight) or Doc for me.
Survivors: Nea.

Probably never as they have already been nerfed. Before a killer could mori instantly.
The only change I would like to see are Mori's and keys to actually be extremely rare and have a set pattern so say one in every 10 or 20 bloodwebs. I don't mind over powered items or offerings but they should not be the norm imo.
The thing is, something being rare does not make it balanced. I mean, currently Moris are not rare, especially the Ebony Mori is more of an yellow Bloodweb Item than a pink one.
Buf if they would be as rare as you suggest, they would also need to be removed from Killers who already have them. Because there are people with Hundreds of Ebony Moris on their Killers. And while this would be logical to remove them, it would not really be fair.

It's a guaranteed free escape than if the killer can't see the cage at that point there's no point int it. I think it's still too early to tell how common the tactic will be tbh.
If the Killer is worrying about a free escape, they can hook and have more control over it. The risk that the Cage is a free escape is always present. But on a Map like Coal Tower, if no Survivor is near the Cage, it is a guaranteed tunnel for Pyramid Head without risks.
Like I said in another Thread, I think hooks will be used more, but people who like to tunnel will have an easy time.
-
Yep.
If they REALLY want to have an information that the Killer is using that Perk, they should add a sound when it gets used. This way Survivors would also know that the Killer is Undetectable, but they would not know where, making the Perk a little bit better.
Same color with Better Together is a weird choice, so I would rather remove the visual indicator from Trial of Torment.

I'd be fine with them not showing the killer the cage aura.
^ this.
Had a Pyramid camping me in the Cage on the new Map. He also spread his goo around it. I went into second stage, but even if not, I would either have to run over the goo and being caged again, or have to crouch to get hooked normally.
Not showing the Auras would prevent this and still keep the purpose of the Cages.

moris were already nerfed which is why people onlyu really use them for the daily rituals and tomes etc,... moris are literally a killer daily thats the only reason people run them these days after the nerfs.
HAHAHA.
Yeah, thats the only reason. Sure. Moris are possibly the most broken thing in this game. Even worse than Keys, who are also BS. And that they got nerfed does not make them balanced at all.

Unless you use Pallet Freddy. This almost always makes the survivors regret using a strode key.
The Pallets are not really a problem on Haddonfield tho. Its the Windows and Fences.
@Topic:
Yeah, obviously not. Map Offerings are in the game to be used. Even tho I think that Survivors who burn Haddonfield should try to improve on the game and not try to rely on stupid Maps.
-
I will only focus on the first point, because the playstyle (to avoid Pallet Stuns to get a hit with the ranged attack) is nothing wrong IMO and Perks should not work with Cages (and there are already discussions about that).
Regarding the points:
@Aven_Fallen said:
Hello,
Rescues from a Cage should award the same amount of BPs as Unhooks.
Rescueing a Survivor from a Hook gives 1000 Altruism Points + additional 500 points if it was a safe Unhook.
Rescueing someone from a Cage awards 550 Boldness Points. Not only are those points only a third of the amount for a safe Unhook, but also they are awarded in Boldness - the easiest Category to max out points.
I dont know if there is any difference between Cages/Hooks for the KIller, but if this is the case, the points should also be the same.
I have already opened a thread about that topic. And I simply dont understand it either, not only are the points only a third of what you would usually get, but they are also in another Category. Which is the easiest to get points in. I dont know what the thought process was behind it.
IMO it should reward the same points as Unhooking, as well in the same category. And if it is any different for Pyramid Head, it should award the same as Hooking a Survivor.
-
Thats the only thing IMO.
It would prevent Pyramid Heads from tunneling (or they would need to guess where the Survivor is, which will actually be a time-waster), while still keeping the core of the Cages to ignore hook-related Perks.
-
@MortisCarnifex said:
I wonder if it's bad or good. I mean on one hand, no kindred. On the other hand, they are usually placed halfway across the map. A survivors runs over to them, uncages them, and heals them. If PH wanted to tunnel, he'd waste valuable time.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1359170#Comment_1359170
And according to this guy, BBQ doesn't work so new strats and metas :)
Ah well. Spawning far away does not prevent the Killer from going there. Especially on small Maps you need to get lucky as Survivor to have another Survivor right next to you, otherwise Pyramid Head is there. But this was expected to happen, if DBD-Killers can tunnel, they will. Wasting time is relative, if you get a Survivor out of the Match early on by doing this you did not really waste any time.
Also, not using BBQ.. eh. First, you can torment Survivors and hook them, and then use the Cage (if the Rescuer does not have BT)... Or even use the Mini-Mori if they went to second stage. And still get the Stack.
And last but not least, the Killer decides his Build, but the Survivors dont decide the build based on the Killer. If I run BT and face a Pyramid Head who is only using Cages, nothing I can do. But a Pyramid Head who is running BBQ and PGTW and uses only cages had the choice to use a build for their Playstyle. If someone uses BBQ and PGTW and uses the Cages all of the time, it is entirely on them to not get any value out of their Perks.
(Long term I think Hooks will be better for Pyramid Head, because they give access to some good Perks and give more control about the hooked person. But if someone wants to play Pyramid Head to tunnel, they will have it easy)
-
@batax90 said:
I think you have less point because its easier to save someone when he is cage but that my opinion on this i believe this can be a bug too its a new patch so bug are part of it
This would explain the amount of points, but not the different category (Boldness instead of Altruism).
-
Sorry to ask you here @Peanits , but can you give some insight on this?
Would have asked for the Q&A, but the Questions are closed. So why is the BP-Reward for rescueing from a Cage only a third from what it would be for an Unhook AND also in another Category?
