  • Demos Shred is really strong. Let alone that it is possibly the best ability to use with STBFL.

  • Thats the funny thing about Console players - some were talking A LOT when Nurse got nerfed (which was 100% justified), and did not even encounter a Nurse and those who they encountered were not a threat (of course, with a Controller).

You cant win against a good Nurse. But most Nurse players are not good, while there is nothing that can beat a godlike Nurse, there is also nothing easier than a bad Nurse.

So if you encounter a "normal" Nurse, somewhat decent, okish, you will get used to it. Console Players need to adapt to play against Killers which were not popular on Console like Nurse or Huntress. PC Players have it easier, I would say the only thing they need to adapt are that Console players try to 360 a lot, which isnt much of an issue with Mouse.

  • I guess because they dont want to promote slugging too much so that Killers, who can Snowball fast like Oni or Billy are not too oppressive with Knockout.

(I mean, the problem is Infectious Fright in that case, but whatever...)

  • That would someone say who wants to trick other players into getting a penalty.

  • Dropping a Pallet and vaulting it so that the Killer cannot break it, but instead picks up the Survivor, which results in a Flashlight Save.

If a Killer knows about that, they can simply press M1 instead of Space and they are good.

  • This would just pollute the Survivor Bloodweb even more. Basically every Chapter is 3 Survivor Perks nobody will really use (yes, there are exceptions, but the majority of Perks released since a few years is garbage), we dont need even more of them.

Nobody would equip a Perk just for the hope that the Killer is the correct one. Let alone that it would be a bad design in itself, the Killer can get extremely unlucky without himself or the Survivor knowing this beforehand.

  • Well, I had two Console-Aces with Flashlights today. I told my SWF-Friend that those are probably guys who dominate Console Killer but will suck against a PC-Killer.

And well... They tried to go for Flashlight Saves. We got 4 Gens done and the Killer got two Hooks (one of the Aces and myself), went after me after I got unhooked, I got downed. The one Ace did not finish the last Gen, but wanted to go for a Flashlight Save. Which works very well, because Killers are blind and they dont see Scratchmarks (/s)... So he went down.

The other Ace, instead of just waiting until Legion picked me up (for a Pallet Save) threw the Pallet and attempted a CJ-Tech, which only works against bad Killers (really, Kids - dont trust the Youtube-Videos, this works like 1 out of 20 games), was injured and down shortly afterwards. We lost this game.

So, completely different experience from you. It is not the platform, its the players. Some Console Survivors are awful, some are good. You probably got unlucky that you got good Survivors that often in a Row, but I would not base it on the Platform at all.

I'm not so sure removing the category cap is a good idea. That one exists to prevent people from farming for eons in one match. Being stuck in a farming trial is already incredibly boring, I'd rather nothing was done to further incentivize it.

I think it would be better to add in more ways for each role to earn post-match BP. and BP multipliers. Such as making the BP-bonuses of BBQ & Chili and WGLF base-game as a start. I also think the old version of "Merciless Killer" (4 sacrifices in one trial) should be made a bonus as well.

Removing the Category Cap would still mean that you have the 32k Cap per Match overall. So there would not be endless farming Matches.

But the Category Cap is annoying, especially for Survivor. As Killer not so much, since you max out every Category at the same time, but as Survivor it is really rare to reach 32k BPs. You can max out on Objective or Boldness, but this does not mean that you should stop doing Gens or not getting chased. Meanwhile, you get 100 BPs in Survivor to mend yourself, so you can reach a Cap quite early (2 Gens with another person and you are almost max Objective), but end the game with 400 Survival Points if you die.

  • Said it multiple times:

100k BPs higher Cap per Devotion Level. This would be a higher Cap and a small reward to Devotion.

In general the BP Cap is quite low, when a new Chapter arrives you only get to Level 35 or something like that. Which is...eh. You wont even reach the point where you get two Perks.

  • No, I chase them for 5 minutes and write "nice genrush" in Postgame Chat!

Also. I'd have to say Bond. Meet Mirror Myers but passive.

Yep, that guy was a Hacker. And according to his Profile, he was also using Spirit with Bond.

Use Ralph’s build whispers, nurses, corrupt and BBQ. Sometimes Iron Maiden for quicker reload.

^ this. Its a good Build, I am running it myself.

Could also replace Corrupt with PGTW, but kicking Gens might be annoying.

STBFL is not a good Perk for Huntress, most of the Hits you want to have are Hatchet Hits, so it will take time to build up Stacks. Let alone that you are a M1-Killer with 110% Movement Speed, quite painful without ability.

  • Kindred. Went against a Hillbilly who had Kindred a few months ago. For tracking, its way better than BBQ, lol.

  • Since someone mentioned it in another Thread: For the People is also an option. Would also work right at the Exit Gate so that you can heal someone with it and escape right away.

Personally, I did it with Object of Obsession, got it in my second Try.

Oh please. You can't be serious by saying a survivor can stop another survivor from escaping.

    DISCARDED REPORTS REASONS

THE FOLLOWING ARE NOT CONSIDERED BANNABLE OFFENSES - PLEASE DO NOT REPORT

    • Camping
    • Slugging
    • Tunneling
    • Streamsniping
    • Teabagging
    • Bodyblocking
    • Looping

Bodyblocking is the important part here.

    This would be reportable:

    GRIEFING: INTENTIONAL GAMEPLAY ABUSE

    • Working with the opposite team to gain an advantage or grief teammates
    • Targeting specific users repeatedly in order to ruin their game experience
    • Holding the game hostage

But like I said, "Holding the game hostage" does not apply here, since EGC already started (aka the game will end without you being forced to DC) and they did not target you repeatedly.

(I mean, its still a dickmove, without a doubt. But not reportable)

  • Nothing can be done here. It is not "Taking the game hostage", since the EGC already started, so the game will come to an end in a reasonable time. It is also not reportable as Griefing, as long as those 3 are not doing it on a regular Basis.

So yeah, you got trolled, but nothing that can be done about that. If they would have started before EGC so that there would not be any way for you to end the game except for DCing, then it would have been "Taking the game hostage".

  • Nope, blocking only blocks the Communication. They will still be able to show up in your game.

Otherwise, Killers would block SWFs they know about and Survivors would block Killers who played well.

The problem I have with it is that it's heavy RNG and that neither of the featured survivors of this rift have any obsession perk.

I'd rather have challenges that I can actively do rather than hoping I'm the obsession and escaping.

But on the other hand, it is something new. I enjoy having new challenges which were not in the previous Tomes.

  • @ASurvkillivorer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1576639#Comment_1576639

Exactly what we said we wanted in the thread....

Are you suggesting those initial challenges are more equal than I implied? Yeah you could throw the game. Or finish it naturally in 2-3 games without any extra effort. Or even not throw the game and get it done in 1-2 depending on the type of matches like I did. I had a 4k with 9-10 kicked gens in my first match and easily knocked it off in the 2nd.

The survivor one its highly unlikely you're going to achieve 4 gens per game for 3 games. Yet that is the quickest possible way to achieve it.

7 of 8 master challenges would require you to essentially try NOT to achieve them assuming you have the right perks/character. The only one even slightly difficult is Back Off and that is the SECOND challenge available. The whole thing is setup goofy.

Well, I took longer for the Gen Kicks, because I dont kick Gens, since it is not worth it 9 out of 10 times (not running PGTW). But in the end, its fine. Those Grind Challenges are obtainable by just playing the game.... While getting Rift Fragments for playing the game AND eventually for the Challenges.

  • @rottmeister said:

Still... Many. Many solo survivors run DS, an obsession perk.

You becoming the obsession is not guaranted. And not every killer is going to take the DS bait.

For the people is definitely the way to go for this challenge imo. Even if someone is wounded at the exit gate, you just pop it and run out. lol

Yeah, like I said, it is the smarter idea, especially because of the Exit Gate-scenario. But I would not have had any problem if it took longer than 2 games for me.

But like I said, I forgot that For the People exists.

  • As someone already mentioned, Devotion was not a thing when Legacy was obtainable. So someone who played back then might have a lower Devotion-Level than someone who started playing much later, despite having more hours overall AND being around when the game was new.

And then, Legacy would not be something special at all. This is probably the only reason to use the Cosmetics.

And while binding it to Devotion would somewhat make sense, in the end, Legacy would still not be special and it is not relevant how much Devotion someone has. Like, I have Devotion 21, so I would be able to get 7 full Sets of Legacy. Now I get several Characters. But in the Lobby, I might have a Legacy Dwight, but that guy who has "only" Devotion 3 also has a Legacy Dwight. So again - nothing special.

  • @rottmeister said:

The "escape while being the obsession" is kinda BS ngl. It's so much RNG...

You can't really actively become the obsession unless you DS the killer or use for the people. Unless he runs Nemesis...

I did it first try by For the people'ing a random. ☺

I only need to heal 4 more survivors and then I did every survivor challenge.

You can equip an Obsession Perk. I used Object for it, got it in my second game (1st game was a Wraith with a Mori, was really "happy" that I have Object).

EDIT: Even tho, in retrospect, For the people would have been the smarter idea anyway. But I forgot that this perk exists.

Way to completely overlook what is even being discussed for your.....5,569th post....

I mean, what do you want? The Challenges from the first Archives were too hard, players complained. Now the Challenges are too easy and somewhat boring.

Like, its always the same in this Forum - Complaints about this and that, but once a new Rift or new Tome Level is released, the Archives are the topic.

(EDIT: I mean, surely you can do the Killer One in one single game... If you want to throw that game)

  • Hit Validation does not have anything to do with the Entity Blocker.

If one Survivor vaults a Window multiple times and it gets blocked by the Entity, it is only blocked for that one Survivor.

  • You have 3 Weeks until Level 4 of the Tome arrives. And still 40 days for the Rift. Its fine that there are Challenges which take a few games.

  • I have never experienced that Iron Will is bugged. Only that Survivors where silent without Iron Will. Sometimes I also was silent when not using Iron Will, but only on my end, my SWF-partner was able to hear me.

  • I enjoy playing Wraith, but he can get some Tweaks. He is not bad at all, I thought he was the worst Killer in the game, but after playing him a while, he is somewhere around the middle.

    What should be done:

Faster while cloaked-->As you said, his speed is too slow. Yellow or even Green Windstorm base, adjusting the values of the Windstorm Add Ons.

Less noise while cloaked-->His breathing and his Footsteps should be well less audible.

Completely invisible while cloaked from a distance-->Seeing his Outline when he is close is fine, but when he is far away, he should be completely invisible. This would help him on open Maps, you are not stealthy when everyone can see you from miles away on Blood Lodge.

Lightburn needs to be removed-->Should be obvious.

  • Jokes on you, if it is in the Rift, it will most likely in the free Track, so you will get it :> (if you play)

But I doubt that the masks will happen like this. Like it was said on the Claudette-Outfit - it is an inspiration, nothing more.

1.) And why was Ruin run in every game? Because games went too quickly at high levels. The reason WHY it was run didn't matter when Ruin was nerfed, so why should it matter here?

3.) It is a bad thing. I, for one, do not enjoy being slugged on the ground for a minute when I am not even running DS. It is such a huge threat that the mere possibility will change the behavior of other players.

My personal idea for a DS rework is as follows:

DS no longer has a timer.

DS cannot be activated in the EGC.

DS will be active on both hook states, even if you used it previously.

DS will deactivate if another Survivor is downed.

DS will deactivate if you are fully healed.

DS will deactivate if you are doing an action for 10+ seconds.

"1.) And why was Ruin run in every game? Because games went too quickly at high levels. The reason WHY it was run didn't matter when Ruin was nerfed, so why should it matter here?"

I dont see that much difference since Ruin got nerfed when it comes to game length. Not in my Survivor games at least (I did not run it as Killer, since I dislike Hex-Perks, they stress me).

"3.) It is a bad thing. I, for one, do not enjoy being slugged on the ground for a minute when I am not even running DS. It is such a huge threat that the mere possibility will change the behavior of other players."

I mean, it is totally better to be back on the hook immediatly than to be slugged for a minute, totally...

In the end, whatever they will do with DS, Killers will have won and maybe be free to tunnel. Yay. Because that playstyle is already present, but it will just be even more prominent. And this thanks to people who decide to make stupid actions with active DS, so that players who use it normally get punished as well. Really looking forward to it.

    @Slashstreetboy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1576336#Comment_1576336

Your statements regarding Killer playstyle comes off as low key shaming for playing efficiently. Against better Survivors the Killer simply can´t keep up if they decided to play the 12 hook game, 2 hooks each before someone gets sacrificed. This can only be done against potatoes or if the Killer is a godlike Nurse or Spirit.

"Most of them tunnel" is an experience I don´t quite share, so I kinda feel bad for you.

I don´t enjoy Spacecoconut because of his strong bias, but @Pulsar makes a fair point: The Devs reasoning concerning ruin is not applied to DS for some reason. I´m always red ranks and I can go for weeks and not have a match with less than 2 DS.

I get hit by it very rarely but simply by existing it forces the Killer to play intentionally worse. Kind of like the threat of Noed forces Survivors to not play optimally but to do bones. (Haven´t run Noed in well over a year outside of meme builds though, it´s so useless).

""Most of them tunnel" is an experience I don´t quite share, so I kinda feel bad for you."

I mean, in quite a lot of games I dont get my DS to activate. A few of them are when the Killer is chasing me and slugs me or cannot catch me (and I dont run Unbreakable). But I once did not use DS for a whole evening and I got tunneled every game.

In the end, it is whatever, Devs are changing their mind here and there, they also said that you should not expect to have all 5 Gens left after two minutes, still they want to impement something. So yeah, dont worry, they will give DS the MoM-Treatment and Killers will go for the next Perk. :>

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1575678#Comment_1575678

You make a fair point, but I think the original one stands, though this example doesn't help it.

DS needs a change. Even going off of the Devs own reasons for nerfing Ruin, it should've been nerfed.

1.) DS is run in a majority of games. I am not saying that everyone runs it, I am merely observing that it is likely that at least two people will have it in every game.

2.) It punishes newer players who may not know about it and it also punishes new Survivors who may not be able to hit those skillchecks yet, so they get tunneled after they miss it.

3.) If there is an obsession (say someone is running MoM for some reason, or the Killer is running STBFL) Killer's will respect DS even if they don't know it is in the game, that is a HUGE amount of passive pressure without even having to activate the perk.

4.) It is inconsistent. It never actually stops tunneling (though it may not be an anti-tunnel perk) and often times it will prompt the Killer to make sure that Survivor is taken out of the game ASAP.

"1.) DS is run in a majority of games. I am not saying that everyone runs it, I am merely observing that it is likely that at least two people will have it in every game."

Well, thx Killers playstyle. I would love to run a Perk which might not even be of use. But if there is no Obsession, the Killer will tunnel. And most of them do regardless. This is why DS is run.

"3.) If there is an obsession (say someone is running MoM for some reason, or the Killer is running STBFL) Killer's will respect DS even if they don't know it is in the game, that is a HUGE amount of passive pressure without even having to activate the perk."

You say that as if it is bad thing when Killers dont go right after the unhooked person...

IF the Devs decide to rework DS another time, it should be a true Anti-Tunnel Perk. It can have restrictions, but if the Killer decides to go for the Unhooked Person, they should get hit by DS, regardless what they do. No slugging or whatsoever.

DS is NO Anti-Tunnel Perk. If a Killer chases me for more than one minute, they still tunneled, but my DS is gone. If the Killer slugs me, they still tunneled.

And well, opening a Thread with a video from this person who does not even play Survivor (like, never) is not helpful.

  • Havent you got the memo? Only Killers are allowed to run good Perks, as Survivor you will have to use Buckle Up and Deja-Vu.

Anyway, it sucks that this happened to you, but dont worry, most PC Killers are not like that.

  • I would agree that Legion is not THAT weak, but putting him in line with Oni is a little bit too much.

  • Some players are like that. I dont really blame someone when DCing against a Mori or Iri Head Huntress, I can totally understand that. But being downed is not one of the BS-Things in this game. You will always have people who DC because of stupid reasons, either because they first got downed, because they dont like the Killer or because a Gen got done.

Thats why we need the DC-Penalty. At least this Claudette would not be able to ruin another game for a few minutes, and if she is DCing quite often, maybe for even longer.

  • A friend of mine is using Head On on a regular basis, and he also sometimes does not hit with it, despite the Killer being right in front of the Locker. But then he sometimes gets Hits on Killers who backed up and are not near the Locker anymore. I also got hit by Head On as Killer when I was quite far away (to the side).

Head On seems to be kinda unreliable.

(In General, Lockers act strange, sometimes I am not able to grab someone out of the Locker when they jump in and out. This is since Crossplay is enabled, at first I thought it is because they are from Console, but happened with PC Players as well)

  • 100% one of those guys. Instead of healing at the Hook, they run somewhere where it is not even safe and want to get healed.

  • Yeah, a video from one of the most biased Killer Mains is a good source.

  • @Avarice10 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1574868#Comment_1574868

I think killer mains also forget that if a killer is tunneling you after being unhooked, the survivor is not necssarily going to go down within the first few seconds after being unhooked, their rscuer may have had BT allowing the person to take a hit and run, meaning a chase now started, and a chase can last easily up to a minute, depending on the skill of the survivor, killer, and if there aren't any dead zones around the hook. 60 seconds definitely does protect you from tunneling because what tunneling is, is a killer not breaking off the chase of one survivor and chases can last for some time.

    ^ this.

If DS would be an Anti-Tunnel Perk, it would protect me if the Killer goes after me and cannot catch me in one minute. Often enough I get chased, survive a little bit longer than a minute and they can pick me up. I 100% got tunneled, but DS does not protect me. (I mean, I can jump into the Locker, but according to this forum, I can also eat Babies, thats the same level of evil)

Same with getting slugged - the Killer tunneled, he does not NOT-tunnel me, just because he leaves me on the ground.

If DS works as a true Anti-Tunnel Perk, it can have retrictions. But then it needs to be a big middlefinger for any Killer who goes after someone who just got unhooked.

That's what I was thinking. If I get multiple games in a row on certain maps, specifically indoor maps, I'll burn an Autohaven or MacMillan map, just so the game is more balanced. But I played six games tonight (four as survivor, two as killer), and five times somebody brought a map offering. I'm just trying to understand the new meta. I just don't know if it's a PC meta or console players trying to even the playing field meta.

I mean, could also be different based on the Region. I am on EU-Servers, and I dont see many Map Offerings. Maybe US-Players use them more.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Don't know much about how often Map Offerings are used on Console, but this is pretty typical to PC.

Couple of days ago, I played Demo. I got Autohaven 2 times in the row without map offerings, then I got sent ot Autohaven 4 times in the row by people looking for easy game, little did they know I main demo... Let's just say it did not end well for them. Did I mention I got 3 more map offerings afterwards?

PC Environment is pretty darn toxic

I would not say that Autohaven is used because people want an easy game. If they want a Survivor-sided map they can burn Ormond or Haddonfield or Coldwind, hoping for Cowshed.

If someone burns stuff like Autohaven or MacMillan, it looks more like they want a normal Map and not end up on The Game or stuff like that.

    @Topic:

Cannot really confirm that Map Offerings are that common on PC. Maybe one out of 5 games, at best, has a Map Offering. More like 1 out of 10.

  • The only people who think that DC Penalties are absurd are those who DC on their first down or when two Gens are done before they got a Hook. Aka those who DC quite frequently.

Im getting chased and tell my 3 friends to do gens. It takes killer 20 seconds to find me at the start 40 seconds to down me and 10 to hook me now 3 gens are done. Its not rocket science.

That's still a strawman and isn't productive to the discussion.

The discussion itself has no sense at all, since BHVR will never do anything to SWF. Most SWFs ARE bad and BHVR will never punish people who play with friends. In fact, every SWF-Thread should be closed immediatly, since it is a useless discussion which is only bad for the Climate of the Forum.

But, to be more align to the forum (and being productive to the discussion as you wish) - BUH, SWF bad, Killers too weak!!!11

Fair, I did misread. Let me amend my previous statement:

You're kinda strawmanning by saying that players just want to win every game.

I mean, I have to assume that, considering how upset players get on this game if they dont 4K/escape. I stopped caring long ago and just have fun.

  • Thats Latency. Sometimes you get a Grab Animation but no Grab, sometimes you stand up/unhook in time and you get grabbed.

In one game, I had a Grab animation on a Claudette who was Unhooking, but the game took it away, and the second time it worked, but according to the Claudette the Unhook was finished. So yeah. Latency.

I said players, not Killer. This goes for Survivors as well, who complain about unreasonable stuff.

Would be nice, if you would not assume things, thank you :)

  • Oh, it is. There are a lot of bad Killers in Red Ranks as well. Because Killer is easy as well, so of course there are people who are not that good at the game. DBD is not a hard game, but for some reason players think that they deserve to win every game.
