Ah hackers ruining a feature as always
Yeah, its just stupid. I mean, you cannot like the DC-Penalties or certain Streamers, but in the end, it is ruining the experience for normal players as well. From my experience the players DC more often since the Penalties are gone in comparison to pre-penalty.

It depends when I play. I play on some EU servers, so in the morning I turn off Crossplay cause I get instantly a lobby with survivors a a killer. But aftermoon amd evenings I have To turn on Crossplay unless I'd be waiting for 5+ mins for a match (as survivor killer is instant at tis mentioned day time).
I prefer playing with PS4 players only though. If I turn on crossplay I am matched with (probably) just PC players considering their names. And for some reason I'm matched with a lot of Russians. Crossplay killers aren't my favorite thing either, I ALWAYS end up facing someone eho tunnels so bad, or plays Canibal, One-shot Huntress or Freddy 🤷🏻♂
So if you turn off Crossplay in the Morning, you get instant Queue Times as Killer? Matchmaking is also fine?
EDIT: Ah, you are probably on PS4... A shame, thought I would be able to get fast Killer Queues over the day with that.

It is penalized on console for some reason.
That would be odd, it was never the case on PC. And I think that this is a good thing, because from my experience, if the game crashed (actually crashed, even tho it does not do that anymore) it was in the Loading Screen.
-
Was removed because, once again, Hackers abused it to give Streamers long Matchmaking Bans. So "thanks" to those Hackers, I guess.
"People DC’ing at the loading screen for map offerings or Mori’s."<---this was never penalized by the DC-Penalty.

I didn’t say it was a thing that only happens on the swamp? It’s just more common there in my experience because of its weird tiles.
You wrote "It’s because it’s the swamp." which lead me to the conclusion you are saying it only applies on Swamp. Just wanted to make that clear, since someone else might read it and see a Double Pallet on another Map and is wondering about it.
-
@xenotimebong said:
It’s because it’s the swamp. There’s a minimum number of pallets that must spawn on every map and since the swamp maps have unusual tiles with no jungle gyms, you sometimes get weird pallet spawns like this.
Thats not a Swamp-only thing (even tho, Swamp is probably the weirdest Outdoor-Map when it comes to Tiles).
When the Map Generator spawned all the Tiles and placed a Pallet on the respective Tiles and the minimum amount of Pallets is not reached, double Pallets happen. This is on every Map.
This means that at one spot there is a double Pallet, but the Map has the fewest Pallets possible and there are most likely Deadzones in other areas.

@Nicholas said:
The issue was that the population it's probably split, those who opted in and those who opted out. At least on PS4, I think it's making things worse because the community is fragmented on crossplay. I know I personally opted out but I also know people who have opted-in. I really hope they add console only crossplay, I think that's going to be the best option.
"No one wants to play killer. "<--- can we for once stop with this? It is not true at all. Besides, before Crossplay the Queue Times were instant for Survivor and longer for Killer. And nobody said "No one wants to play Survivor".
@Topic:
My Queue Times are roughly the same as before Crossplay. Usually I get instant Lobbies from Morning until Afternoon as Survivor and longer Waiting Times for Killer (5 minutes+), and in the evening/night, I have instant Queues for Killer and have to wait around 3 minutes for Survivor. The Survivor Queues got a little bit longer in the evening (instead of 2-3 minutes it is mostly around 3 minutes now).
Probably, because Console had a lot of Survivor players. Also, Console Killers dont have to play Crossplay to have instant Lobbies, so I assume that many already have disabled it to get "easier games against Console Survivors".
-
The problem is the mentality of players in this game. This "I have to 4K" or "I have to survive" is just stupid. Yeah, of course you dont think that you will lose this game when you start it, it would be dumb to play or enjoy a game where you think all the time that you are losing, but thinking that you deserve to win (whatever a win is), is equally dumb.
From the Killers side it is sometimes brought up with "I am the Power Role" or "I am supposed to be the Power Role", which is again, not relevant at all, since it is a Multiplayer Onlinegame and this means that both sides should have (and have) the chance to win a game.
That being sad, the part "The worst Survivor gets the Hatch" is also nonsense. It could be easily possible that the guy who gets the Hatch is the one who did the most for the team. Yes, it could be someone who was hiding all game, but it also could be someone the Killer was not able to catch. At the very least, he avoided the Killer to get the Hatch.
And even IF that guy is the worst Survivor - what does it matter to the Killer? Do Killers feel some injustice and want to help the other Survivors (who got killed) by also killing the last one, who played badly? Like, if anyone should get pissed that this guy gets the Hatch, it should be the Survivors, but not the Killers concern.
If players would just see this game as a game and not as some competition, it is a party game, a casual game. No reason to make it competitive.

considering flashlights can blind when out of FOV yeah that's something to "worry" about when 2-3 survivors quick swap like little trolls
maybe i queue up as a killer i haven't fully levelled, and enter a lobby with an obvious swf or otherwise stacked item loadout.. i could dodge lobby and make them wait or i could change killer and proceed.. except option 2 isn't an option anymore
so who benefits
Ah, suddenly people on this Forum want something good for Survivors. Nice try, Mate.
-
Imagine quickswitching on Flashlights in 2020.
Imagine seeing Flashlights as something to worry about in 2020.
Nah, its not a big deal that Survivors can switch. I rarely see Quickswitchers and once again, I doubt that my games are the exception.
-
The Basics will stay the same, that should be obvious. And those Trailers were never really detailed.
-
I mean, the general concept will be the same.
-
This happens when all the Tiles have been placed on the Map but the minimum number of Pallets was not reached. Then structures can have Double-Pallets.
E.g. I see two Tank Tracks next to the Double Pallets, so it is highly likely that the Map had a bunch of Deadzones because only Tiles without Pallets spawned there. And since all the other Tiles which can contain a Pallet got one, and the minimum was not reached, this Tile spawned with a Double Pallet.
-
If you want to spend real money, you should go for Nancy, since Adam is obtainable via Shards.
If going strictly for the Perks, I would prefer Adam over Nancy, Inner Strength is an okish Perk, but it does not heal that fast (the initial healing is fast, but spending the time to cleanse a Totem and going to a Locker is not really optimal), but I would prefer Deliverance, simply because it can help you a lot when left alone on the Hook.
There is obviously no guarantee that you get to use Deliverance, but thats basically the same with Inner Strength, especially as Solo Survivor.
-
Sure that it is triggered by DCing? When it happened to me (frozen on the Hook), I did not DC at all, I just got stuck there and had to DC in reaction to it.
-
There are coordinated SWFs out there, but their number is pretty minor. Tofu said in a recent video that the existence of those SWFs is used by Killers as an excuse for losing, and this is 100% true. Only because you have seen some Tournament Squad or seen Marth and his Depip Squad does not mean that the players you just lost against are that strong (or even in an SWF).
The amount of hate is ridiculous, like, you just want to play together with your friend(s) and people act like you are the worst evil being in existence.
-
It probably works against bad Killers. I am always like "Yeah, good one, you got me" when I see a Survivor walking slowly while looking at me when I am approaching. I always wonder if they actually think they are doing an outstanding move at this point.
-
And still Killers are doing well despite those second chance Perks. Well, obviously not the Killers on this forum, but in general, Killers are not in a bad spot.
-
This means that they use up every Pallet Spot on Midwich with those "Pallets" (dont know if you could even call those Jokes "Pallets") and there is no Pallet Spot left for Freddy to place a Dream Pallet.

"Let's nerf a perk because of bad map design."
Yeah, exactly. This was my main point when they nerfed Balanced Landing - the Maps, where it is a problem (or which got called out for being a problem because of BL) will still be a problem.
And if we look at it:
Haddonfield-->No Killer wants to go to Haddonfield, even with nerfed BL
Badham-->Will be better with breakable Walls, but again, the problematic Spots did not need BL.
Ordmond-->Got told that the Lodge is insane with Balanced Landing. It is an awful Map anyway, even with nerfed BL.
Asylum-->Again, got told that the Main Building is horrible with BL. But without, it is not enjoyable either.
So the problematic Maps are still problematic (except for Badham, most likely).
Also, I got told that with nerfed BL, the Devs are more free to create Maps and Loops. Now, lets look at the Maps which got released since then:
Sanctum of Wrath-->The only really reliable BL-Spot is the Sanctum, but next to every Window is a Drop which can be used.
Saloon-->There are some Window Drops on small balconys, but everyone of those has a Drop in it for the Killer.
Midwich-->Not good designed for either side, but again, next to each window followed by a Drop is a normal Drop.
So all those Maps look like they were designed with old Balanced Landing in mind, even with Stagger Reduction you would not be able to create strong Loops.
So yeah, in short - the Perk got changed because of bad map design and more freedom in future Map Design. The bad Maps are still bad and the freedom in future Map Design would have worked with old BL (so far).

You ain't kidding, My last Level 50 bloodweb I did on Doc had three ebony moris in it.
Yes, I said three.
I never had three, but had two Ebony Moris, but on Huntress, who only has one Iridescent Add On. But usually, I have 1 Mori per Bloodweb, if I get "unlucky", it is 1 out of 2 Bloodwebs.
-
Well, Keys are somewhat rare and not as strong as Moris (but still need to get reworked). Moris on the other hand...The Ebony Mori is the most common Mori. Yay.
-
The BL-Nerf was still not needed at all. The Maps which came out since the Nerf would have been totally fine with old Balanced Landing as well (like, next to each Window on a second Floor is a Drop) and the Maps where BL was problematic are still a nightmare for Killer.
-
Well, first of all, people are making those Cosmetics, those need to get paid.
Second, BHVR is a company. Companies like to make money.
Third, Cosmetics are entirely optional. I rather have "expensive" Cosmetics than expensive Chapters, a DLC is 7 Euros or even for free, if you buy the Characters with Shards (and it is an original Chapter), so I am totally fine with BHVR making money from Cosmetics.
Also:
Regarding Shard Grind-->This is intentional. Shards give the ability to get stuff for free, which would usually cost money. Sure it will take some time to get this, since BHVR is not getting any money from it.
And well, Legandary Skins-->For what they provide, they are simply overprized. Different voice, secondary weapon for Killer and changed name in the Lobby and I would get the price. But from what Legendary Skins are, they are too expensive.

MMR will most likely come back. Personally, I dont think that they should waste any more time on it, an MMR-System for DBD will not work at all.
The only positive aspect would be that players can try Killers they are not familiar with, but I dont think that this is worth it.
-
If you would be able to do that, you would just have to wait until they vault a Window or Pallet for your free Instadown.

Am I the only person who genuinely never gets mad if the last person gets hatch it's fair and square at that point for me
Not at all. I usually dont care, for me, a 3K with Hatch Escape is the same as a 4K. I only slug for the 4K if I see the last Survivor while downing the 3rd Survivor or if the last Survivor was playing cocky in some way (trying to taunt me, farming his teammates, not doing anything and waiting for hatch, stuff like that).
-
I would not say that any challenge is impossible. The only one where I farmed right from the start was to get two Grabs in one game, but only because the game has problems with Grabs. If Grabs would have been actually working, I would have done it normally, but I rather not try something which might be denied because of the game and not my own mistakes (could have been possible that I would have gotten it via normal gameplay, but nah).
Regarding your challenges:
Survive with 3 other people leaving the trial before you--I almost never have a full team leaving the trial!<---This does not have to be done in one game. You just have to be alive while others get out, so even if you sacrifice yourself so that another person can get out (e.g by unhooking them), you get progression.
Stun the killer 3 times in one trial--killers at the rank I'm at usually know better than to get stunned.<---You said that Killers dont get stunned in Red Ranks, but usually, you get more Stuns in Red Ranks, since Killers most of the time dont respect Pallets. You can even camp Pallets (hidden, throw them while the Killer chases another Survivor) or get hit through the Pallet to get the stun, but this is a really bad way to use ressources. Other stuns count as well, so you should try Head On.
Survive as the obsession--I FINALLY figured out a way to ensure getting the obsession without using DS (I'm awful at hitting DS and every killer just slugs anyway), but now I just have NOT been able to survive.<---I have done the Challenge with Object of Obsession, even tho, you have to get lucky that nobody gets to use his DS. But For the People is a good option as well.

Before you said something like "It is create for help you not to have a 2 hours long hiding game when there is only survivor left"
it is just a excuse not a reason.
we can just start the end game timer when the third survivor died.
and the last one need to repaired all the gens left and open door in time.
"But there would be no chance for the survivor to escape!!"
well.
if all you teammate died already and you still have two gen left.
Then you should lose in the very first place.
it should not some how give you a free escape right?
just like the end game timer is not mean to give you a free kill.
Then why when it turn to survivor it suddenly some how give survivor a free escape?
it just don't make sense right?
I can even re-use my comment:
"Just accept it, you only got a 3K in the game which was played before the creation of this Thread."
-
This "just to bones" is just a phrase, nothing more. They heard the term "bones" at some unfunny animation, so they use it. And parrot it.
Just accept that NOED is a thing and that it requires you to waste time searching Totems instead of being productive. Oh, and if you dont get all 5, your time is 100% wasted. This all for a Perk the Killer might not even have.
"But you get BPs!"...Yeah, Boldness, which is the easiest Category to fill up.
"But they count for Emblems!"... So do Gens, which are actually important to do.
Oh, and dont worry, you are sitll required to do all the Totems, despite the Killer bringing a Mori which basically means "be as efficient as possible to survive".
Nah, sorry, but you wont get anything with your Thread on this Forum. We can just hope that they change NOED at some point and remove the Hex-Status so that this waste of time is gone (like, try to get 5 Totems as Solo Survivor on Midwich, Hawkins or Lerys...ugh).
EDIT: The worst thing is that NOED basically is a guaranteed 2K for a camping Killer... "Just rush Gens when the Killer is Camping". Aaaand NOED.
-
Use whatever you want, but dont expect everyone to like it.
-
Hilarious that people still think that with all the Buffs Killers got and all the Nerfs Survivors got the Killer with the best Map Mobility and an easy to use Insta Down should not have been looked at. Or the Killer which simply blinks on top of Survivors (what she still does) and which would have probably never created from 2017 onwards, because at this point the Devs would have realized that it would be a wrong design, was totally fine.
Huntress will most likely not get a Cooldown, she has a quite meaningful Cooldown (unlike Nurses fatique) by reloading at Lockers AND 110% Movement Speed without any way to catch up to Survivors quickly.
They will give her the correct number of Add Ons, will rework Iri Heads and (hopefully) Exhauastion Add Ons, but nothing more.
-
"toxic bodyblocking"...Yeah, Bodyblocking is "toxic" now.
Just wait 15 seconds.
-
The Overheat is basically non-existent. You either have to go for it or mess up a lot to overheat your Chainsaw.
In general, Billy was not touched (except for Tinkerer, but this had to happen) for years and the game became easier for Killer as well. So stuff which was ok a few years ago might not be ok in 2020. And the Killer with the best Mobility and an easy to use Instadown might deserve some Nerf at this point.
-
It is completely up to you if you enjoy it. There is a lot of weird stuff people enjoy, lol. But others have also written that they like the animations (even tho, those are a minority, I guess the majority sees the gameplay above the animations).

@dugman said:
I don’t mind the hatch, it does as mentioned above at least prevent the scenario where the last survivor is just hiding and not doing gens and the killer can’t find them. There are really only a couple of tweaks I would make though:
- Hatch should probably score less points than escaping out the doors. It’s significantly easier to escape by hatch than by a door since it opens automatically so it probably should be worth less points to escape that way. (Maybe 2500 points instead of 5000?)
- When there are two survivors left you sometimes run into the scenario where they are both hiding waiting for the other to die and the killer has trouble finding them which drags the game out. To avoid that there should be something like a five minute timer where, if no living player scores any points in that time, then the endgame collapse immediately starts. It would prevent that occasional 10-15 minute long occasional boring bit of hide and seek when this situation arises.
- Keys should only allow the key user to escape by hatch, not the whole team. All the living survivors getting the sizable escape bonus from a single key use is a bit silly. (And yes, I also think Red Moris could use a tweak but that’s a different topic.)
The only change needed to the Hatch (keys is a totally different topic and something already looked at by the Devs):
If the Killer gets a 3K and the last Survivor escapes through the Hatch, it counts as a 4K emblem and BP-wise. Easiest Fix ever, nobody will need to slug. Its not like the Killer lost because one Survivor found the Hatch (which isnt the case without my proposed change, but then it would matter even less to the Killer).
-
Twisted on that one.
I mean, when MMR was active, I went against players with under 1 hour of playtime (with Billy, who I played a lot). So even IF I would be really, really, really bad with that Killer, my 4700 hours would be more than enough to deal with players on their first game. Without any use of the ability, I can probably even catch them with Nurse without blinking.
But also, my high hours could hinder me. Lets say, I want to learn Nurse (I am terrible with her), but my high hours would pair me with stronger Survivors, I would have a harder time than I should have, if MMR is working perfectly. Because, most of my hours on Killer are on Pig and Billy, Nurse is completely different, I would not really get anything from my experience on other Killers, which would be influenced by my playtime.
Let alone that it is entirely possible that someone has a lot of hours as Survivor, but almost never plays Killer and would get matched with way stronger Survivors. And Devotion is not different if you are playing Survivor or Killer, so someone can be on Devotion 10 and only played one role, but would go against Players with similar devotion.
Just imagine someone who only played Survivor but tries goes against Survivors who also only played Survivor, all on Devotion 10 (or vice-versa). It would be a mess.
IF Devotion should be a part of MMR, it has to be very minor.

The only problem is the mmr system (when it comes back) promotes playing to your best which was why all streamers i at least saw went slug mode to get the 4k for the best mmr. The hatch punishes you for it even existing (before it wasnt a problem since this isnt supposed to be a competitive game but now their basically throwing in overwatch sr). No more free escapes on my watch.
Even with MMR DBD will not be a competitive game. It is a Party game, only the players want it to be competitive. And if the Killers want to slug for the 4K, they should do so. Wasting everybodys time, instead of just going into the next game.

It could entirely be possible that this time there are less Killer Blight-Skins than Survivor Blight-Skins.
First time we got Claudette and Dwight, and for Killers Doctor, Trapper, Wraith, Billy and Huntress.
Second time only Jake as Survivor and Hag, Spirit, Plague, Clown as Killers.
So the only Killers left without a Blight-Skin are Deathslinger, Oni, Legion and Blight. Survivors are way more.
Of course it all depends on the fact IF they would do any Blight-Skin for The Blight and how many Skins for Legion would be produced (can be anything from 1 to 4), but in general, it might happen that there are more Survivor Skins than Killer Skins this time.
(Of course only if there will be Skins or an Event at all - since nothing is confirmed yet)
-
Just accept it, you only got a 3K in the game which was played before the creation of this Thread.

Forever Freddy. Worst thing to load into a game being asleep and seeing the Swing Chains. Then someone gets injured and you see Thana... And it all just goes down from there.
-
I usually do a combination of current Archive Charms and Tome/Rift-Reward Charms (so Archive Level 4 and Rift Tier 70).
I use them on all of my Killers and on female Survivors.
-
I dont need Bots. As Survivor, it does not make a difference, a Bot will not really be able to help out, so the game will be lost with an early DC anyway. Only the Killer will benefit from it. But eh... They already won at this point.

Not everyone is good at the game. Stacking Slowdown Perks (and Add Ons) is a good indication of that. Sadly it works really good on one of the easiest Killers in the game, which makes it even worse.

That can't be an excuse of why they ignore my several tickets with very solid proof for over a month.
The hacker is still active, harassing tons of other players.
Hackers are usually banned in waves. Instead of banning every Hacker/Cheater separately, they check what exactly was the Cheat and ban in waves.
Every Hacker I was able to track (one of them was from the Windows Store) got banned so far.
-
In 4700 hours of playing I have encountered 10 hackers at max. A good bunch over a two days a few months ago. I did not notice any recent increase of Hackers.
So I guess you got unlucky? OR not everyone you suspected hacking was actually hacking.
