You can defend it idc, doesn't make you objectively right. It's all a matter of opinion.

I'm never gonna buy set cosmetic cause they ruin player expression and the reasons for not allowing mixing and matching is pretty arbitrary.

Then dont buy them. But dont say "I paid money for it so I should be able to mix&match" when its quite clear that you will not be able to do that.

  • Well, I guess effortless Slowdown (just equip a Perk) combined with Synergy with other Slowdown Perks. New Ruin is still a good Perk, but you have to be a good Killer to use it. And for me, new Ruin is more annoying to go against, because if I need to go for an Unhook, I am quite sure that my Gen is back to 0 when I return.

But I can totally understand that less experienced Survivors would have a hard time against Ruin AND PGTW. You struggle to do a Gen and then the Killer comes around and kicks 25% of it away. At least PGTW has some form of effort.

I agree, we paid for it, we should have the choice to make our characters look as stupid/cool/cute/ugly as we want them to.

Set cosmetics are a terrible idea and i hope they don't keep releasing them.

You paid for it, but you know in advance that you will not be able to mix those Cosmetics. So you know what you get. If you still buy it then, you cannot complain afterwards with "I paid for it, so let me use them for mix&match".

    @Topic:

I think Sets are fine. They remove clipping issues and allow for some things which were not possible before. And as long as the majority of Cosmetics are separate pieces, I am all fine with it.

So you think that nerfing just those who are in swf would be better idea? Right?

Nope, because I dont think that SWF is a problem. Let alone that punishing players to play with their friends is just wrong.

    Maybe dont assume things?

my question is how do you even know they were console players? they could have been a pc player from microsoft store.

While this argument works well for Console (that those do not have to be PC Survivors but can be Survivors from another Console), it does not work for PC. Sure, it can be a Windows Store-User, but Crossplay between Steam and Windows Store was active for months before. And personally, I have only seen 2 Windows Store-Users since then (one of them being a Hacker, so not even sure if he really was on Windows Store). So while it is possible that those were PC-Users as well, it is highly unlikely.

That being sad, them being on Console has nothing to do with what they did. Its the player not the platform.

  • While EGC is indeed killer-sided, it is not meant to gift the Killer any Kills. It is to force the game to an end. If you want the game to end, open the Exit Gates yourself, this is the reason why that option is available.

Or, in short: Only because Survivors die at the end of EGC does not mean it is a Killer Tool to get more Kills.

SWF was always planned, but they also said way back in the beginning that they would never add voice to the game because it was designed to be played without it and not having all those known quantities that come with it.

Apparently, they never heard of Discord when they planned for SWF, which shows a severe lack of planning, foresight, and basic game design common sense.

Nah. You cant make Voice Chat mandatory and balance around that. Some people want an immersed experience and dont want to talk to other people. This alone is a reason against this, since you have every player in mind and not only those who like to play with Friends.

  • @Ryuzaki said:

It all comes down to preference, there's no right or wrong. The devs are gonna rework the perk so it caters to everyone.

    Not really, tbh.

Someone who preferred the Tier 3 Version will not have any other choice than using the new Tier 3-Version, while someone who used the Tier 1-Version, will simply have to upgrade the Perk. But there is no going back from Tier 3 to Tier 1.

  • So because a Map is bad for one Killer, it should get reworked? Totally fine to have Maps which are not for every Killer. Like, while Lerys is bad for Billy, he will be happy about any Outdoor Map. A Map like Blood Lodge is bad for Wraith, but good for Huntress, it is the other way around on Lerys (as an example).

  • The Devs are not removing Ranks, but it is planned to remove Ranks from the Matchmaking. You will still have a Rank Reset and you will still have the opportunity to Pip or Depip, however, this will have no effect on your Matchmaking. It is a number for you to brag about.

Personally, I hope that they also bring back a real Rank Reset, so that the Rewards are a little bit more interesting. For me, I would totally be fine to get Reset to Rank 20 every month, if there is an actual reward for Ranking up.

Because if I places anymore 2, 3 or 4 gens would pop wouldn't they

I mean, you have a Killer who requires Setup to be played efficiently. And you dont do Setup. The outcome should be expected.

Honestly, you cant play Trapper and have the Mindset that you will have 5 Gens up after 2 Minutes. When I play Trapper, I know that 2 or even 3 Gens are done before I have my first Hook, simply because I spend most of my Corrupt Intervention setting Traps. However, once I am done with that, I can apply pressure.

On the other hand, if I play Spirit and 2 or 3 Gens get done before I get my first Hook, I clearly messed up.

Then why don´t they balance the game properly? IF it was always inteded, they must have had plans for balancing with and without communication.

Also, why did they make killer perks that become useless if you have a swf group?

    Can you explain, plz?

"Can you explain, plz"?<---Nah, I am not a Dev.

But personally, I dont see SWF as a problem. most of them are not good at the game. Even the ones who try to bully the Killer might end up getting beaten.

Sure, there are 4 man SWFs who are really strong and almost unbeatable. But those are not many at all. I mean, of course a lot of people pretend they went against one of those Squads, even if they did not.

And regarding Killer Perks which can become useless... most of those are not run by Killers anyway. Even if SWF gets banned tomorrow, nobody will start using Third Seal or Knockout, lol.

  • @douggie123 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1561739#Comment_1561739

Really. I had a match earlier as trapper I placed one trap and found my first survivor and 2 gens popped.

Do you run Corrupt Intervention? And why do you only place one Trap at the start of the game?

  • Well, the earliest we can hear about that would be a Developer Update. Maybe there will be one at the start of the next month. Other than that, there will be a Blogpost, but it depends on what the Devs are planning. Since I doubt that they will do another Killer/Add On Rework in the next Midchapter, "Start Game Collapse" (or whatever you wanna call it) is quite likely.

Personally, I dont care that much about it. I think the Devs have become quite good at Balancing, so I think it will be quite fine for Survivors and will help Killers who struggle with the early game. In general, always excited for new things.

    HOWEVER:

There will be people who think that this is not enough, because they are still not able to get constant 4Ks.

And also, if this is implemented, Killer Mains should be aware that there might be Nerfs to things like Spirit, Freddy or Perks like PGTW if they make the game easier for Killers. Happened in the past already, and there will be more (even if I know that there will be a huge shitstorm on the Forums then).

  • Genrush is almost non-existent.

Yeah. And sorry if my post was rude.

I'm just tired of seeing rants about ds, bt.

Dont worry, But you should keep in mind that this happens both ways. Using DS or BT is as toxic as using NOED or PGTW. Exactly not toxic at all.

But toxic gets thrown around as a generic word.

  • Because "toxic" does not have any meaning anymore. It is basically used for everything the other side does what the player does not like. And sometimes just made up.

  • Not my taste. :P

I either prefer the masked cosmetics or the one Long Hair-Cosmetic without the Cap. And then different Outfits. Currently I am using the Set tho, since it looks amazing.

You can too. Because I would like to see proof of this live stream. Though even with that the fact that the devs have been caught lying on those streams is still not a great validation.

Here we go, even tho, I messed up the Date pretty badly since the Stream is from 2018:

    https://youtu.be/gTpZSllfMmw?t=571

But hey, since you dismiss anything right away with "your point is invalid" and "Devs are lying", you will say again that Devs are lying so it is kinda pointless to talk to you.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1561091#Comment_1561091

No it wasn't. It was never intenteded to be in the game. It was only added because a bunch of survivors bitched. If it was intended to be in the game, the game would be balanced around it and the killer would have some kind of recompense or ability to deal with it. They do not. Your point is invalid.

They said it in one of the early Livestreams of 2016 or so. I mean, you can make up reasons how much you like to prove your wrong point, but the Devs said it.

It was removed because MMR was being added shortly after. It just makes sense that they'd turn off MMR and turn switching back on since the whole reason they turned off switching was for the MMR that they ended up disabling anyways.

Not when they want to gather Data.

Also, they would need to make an Update to allow switching, whhile they simply can switch on MMR on their backend.

In the end, its not much of a Deal that Killers cant switch Characters IMO.

And yet they'd rather focus on cosmetics rather than improving Quality of Life changes? Legitimately out of 10 matches i've played at least 7 of them will be from China, and not a good thing to happen cause they're all teleporting around and hitting insane downs that shouldn't be possible. Dedicated servers did nothing IMO if I'm still experiencing the same thing as P2P.

The plan was to test the Server-Sided Hit Detection (or Sanity Check, whatever they want to call it) during the Midchapter PTB, but this did not work out since players were suffering from high Pings on the PTB. So they wanted to test it on Live. So the latest information is a few weeks ago.

  • The Ping in the Lobby you see as Survivor is your own Ping to the Server. You cannot see the Killers Ping (but the Killer can see your Ping ingame, which is kinda odd). So with Dedicated Servers, you dont know what you are going against, the Killer can be connecting from a different continent and you only see it once he hits you from miles away.

But Devs wanted to implement a Server Check regarding Hits, which means that at least the really stupid Hits from Miles away should not be that much of an issue anymore. There will still be weird Hits, because thats just how latency works, but it will not be that extreme anymore.

  • @Vetrathene said:

Because the game as it was originally was supposed to have no communication. Then the devs caved in to review bombing ######### and added in SWF and broke the game forever/

Here we go again - SWF was planned from the beginning. But the Devs only had time to put either KYF or SWF into the game on Release so they went for SWF. They said it during one of the early Livestreams.

It is simply wrong to think that Developers would plan a Multiplayer Onlinegame without the intention in mind to have friends play together.

Also, the feature was added shortly after the release, you dont create something like that in a few weeks from scratch.

But hey, try to de-justify SWF by repeating this over and over again that the Devs were not planning to include it, as wrong as it can be.

  • Genspeed isnt a problem. Killers who think they deserve to win every game are a problem. Also people who focus on the early game so much are a problem, it does not matter if the first Gens are done fast. This is the usual case, the first one or two Gens are fast, afterwards, the Killer should have some Pressure by having a Hook or two.

And those "Depip-Squads"-People...Yeah, whatever. Those are edge cases. Those dont really deserve much attention for 99,99% of the game most people play. Because the Majority of players on both sides are not that good, you dont need to be an exceptionally skilled Killer to win against Red Ranks and you dont need to be an exceptionally skilled Survivor to win against Red Rank Killers. DBD is an easy game, overall.

And well, regarding "Penalty for multiple people on a Gen"... It is already slower. Reducing the numbers even more will just result in Survivors definitely splitting up, which results in even faster Gens. If 2 Survivors on a Gen would take 65 seconds, there is no reason to be on a Gen with 2 people. So there would be more Survivors who do Gens alone, meaning that instead of 1 Gen being completed in 65 seconds there will be 2 Gens completed in around 80 Seconds.

Yep I'm personally not playing against Spirit if you're interested regardless if the system is on or not.

Well then dont act like "There will be hacks" if you just want to DC because you dont want to play the game.

  • As long as nobody gets hacked so that they have a long Matchmaking Ban, the DC-Penalty should stay. Games without DC-Penalty were even worse than pre-Penalty.

Are you just trying to be straight up toxic? Yes I missed my second hit that was just an overcharge, it just looked like he would double back but instead he kept walking, and I overcharged my blink by a little so I couldn't get him. How do you want to say that I am one of the worst nurses for that one single mistake? I mean mistakes happen, even if not often. I was camping on the boat for about 20 seconds because there was a almost done gen on top of it and 2 survivors hiding to finish the gen. I stayed up there for a little because two survivors were wasting their time by just waiting for me to go. And at the same time I could instantly go for a survivor as soon as they try to unhook. Maybe now you understand the thought process of it.

I am maining her for 3 years now and got a lot of experience. I almost never lose my games, one example for that are my 64 4k's in a row for that. This post wasn't even about that, I even said that I made a few mistakes. It was about what you think of survivors running full meta perks since it is extremely hard to beat. And not for people to be toxic.

Oh, I would never criticize your playstyle, I am not good at Nurse, not even close. And honestly, I just stopped the video at the point, because it got boring to see you camping.

But, you say that you get a lot of 4Ks, lose only 5 games a week (considering how you said that, it means that you rarely lose), but then you complain about one of the few times you actually lose a game?

Being good at the game, not even being good at the best Killer in the game should guarantee a win. This is a Multiplayer Online Game, this means both sides should have the chance to win. And if you almost ever win this shows that the Nerfs regarding Nurse were justified.

(But dont worry, my opinion will not be popular here. I guess you can just write something about Nurse being too weak in the title and write whatever you want in your Post, you will still get a lot Upvotes)

You also gain distance when he aims down sights. Also quite easy to understand. You can easily tell when to juke by looking at him. I hope you're actually doing this and not juking randomly. If you're randomly swerving that might explain why you're having so much difficulty.

Good Deathslingers dont aim down sights, they quickscope.

  • What makes you say that you are one of the best Nurses of the game? This is coming from one of the worst Nurses of the game, but I see you missing your second Hit (he used Dead Hard, but too late) and camping on the boat instead of going for other Survivors...

  • Pretty sure Devs said it is on their list. Dont know where it is, but someone wrote it.

  • low B. With Tiers from S to D, I cannot put him on C, because he does not belong in the second to worst category. So somewhat in the middle would be a good Spot for him.

He has the potential to be higher tho, depending what the Devs do with him. Rat Liver Basekit and a few Add On Tweaks and he could be high B or even low/mid A.

"You cant make distance when he is faking his power the whole time"

This obviously is not true. You can pan your camera to see what he's doing at all times, you just have to not run into walls.

You lose distance when you do not run in a straight line. I think this is quite easy to understand.

Can we also talk about how most of her outfits are also more or less just restyles of her default?

Like, she doesn't have anything that drastically changes her overall look.

There's no cool armor for her; no silly cat masks or fun Mad Max inspired outfits; no badass outfits where she's on fire or looks like a terrifying monster.

It's mostly just ornate and flashy dresses that show off her cysts and discolored skin.

And I mean, like, I get that her lore is that she's an ancient priestess infected with a horrible disease, but does that mean all of her outfits need to be so similar?

    -

I guess what I'm trying to say is that her outfit selection feels a bit uninspired, because sometimes it feels like I'm the only one who thinks this.

Totally agree. Plague has an amazing design, I was really hyped for her when I first saw her on the PTB, I was talking to my friend the whole time "Man, she looks so good". And it is true, Plagues basic design looks great and IMO she has one of the best Prestiges in the game.

But as you said, all of her Cosmetics look quite uninspired. Its always Plague.

I guess you cannot do that much to her, because she is such an old character. But there were some Plague Cosmetics which caught my eye in the Design Contest and they were not out of space at all. Maybe I can find one of them, but overall, yes, she could get some variation in her Cosmetics.

People don't like it because it means you have to juke instead of making distance, but his speed is debuffed when aiming so it's actually even.

You cant make distance when he is faking his power the whole time, because you will need to wiggle left and right. And if you dont, he will not fake it and just shoot you. And if he shoots, there is no real way to react, way too fast.

(But I guess some people here are gods and can evade every Deathslinger-Shot)

I mean, those are popular, non-biased and really good players at this game. I guess they know what they are talking about.

Not sure if the last one is a loop that was in the first few links but still, 5 wall/pallet the killer need to break not counting the 2-3 mindgame-able loop that lead to a strong window. Also Lithe and Balance Landing can be use in every chase unless you have horrible positioning/ you are injured.

I don't know why people are complaining about this map. Most pallet are mindgame-able; is it possible to make the killer lose a decent amount of time on those while an average/noob survivor will get hit easily. There are like 5 loops where the killer need to break a wall/pallet otherwise he lose line of sight and probably end chase too.

I get that during a match you don't have time to think about all those nice loops and the most optimal path and you can easily enter the killer's terror radius when he's chasing someone but that's what make this map one of the best for me; survivor can get stressed because of everything I just mention but there are still some pretty strong area.

Only the 1st and 4th Timestamp are God Pallets and those are the only ones on Midwich. And while they might be a little bit too safe, its fine since the rest of the Pallets are too unsafe.

I would not count breakable Walls into this, because you can break them before being in a Chase, meaning that this Window which is near the breakable Wall will not be safe when a Survivor goes there.

And the Tower is not safe at all, its more like a Deathtrap.

I can say from experience that your play style doesn't matter to these kind of people, if they get beat its everyone else's fault but their own.

I've been called a camper/tunneller more times than I care to count by survivors, even though I very rarely do it and get called "a toxic swf group" by killers even though I always play solo

I rarely get hateful messages from Survivors, mostly only because when I camp during Endgame. Once I got called a tunneler as Pig, because that guy was not able to get his Trap off... Havent seen him once after he got unhooked (fun thing was that they picked Ormond, Karma I guess). But usually, I dont get messages like this, which lets me think about the Killers complaining about them playing in an unfun way.

But I have to admit, I dont get "gg" very often if a Survivor died. If I get a "gg" its mostly from someone who escaped and I am quite sure they wont say that if they died. Which is kinda sad, but whatever.

  • I mean, you can also go into Night Shroud when the Hooked Survivor does not have any vision on you anymore.

(And well, for every hooked Survivor who breaks you out of Stealth there will be a Survivor staring at you the whole time not being able to break you out since Ghostface is working perfectly /s)

  • @ZaKzan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1558680#Comment_1558680

Pallets are used by survivors to delay the game by wasting the killer's time, giving other survivors enough time to do gens. The core gameplay of DBD essentially revolves around pallets and pallet loops. The indoor maps primarily have unsafe pallets, but they have many more to make up for this. The Game map especially has a lot of pallets and a few pallets that are extremely strong. The Game map is a heavy survivor sided map, it is not a killer sided map. It is a survivor sided map because of the amount of pallets in it and the amount of god pallets in it.

Hawkins also has tons of pallets and crazy good windows / vaults, midwitch is also an extremely survivor biased map. I just don't understand where you're coming from when you say indoor maps are bad for survivors. These maps employ pallets and windows that survivors have to think about to utilize fully, they can't just brainlessly navigate across the map and into safe loops then throw down the pallet and go to the next safe tile, like most maps. These maps actually require more input than brainless holding W.

"Hawkins also has tons of pallets and crazy good windows / vaults, midwitch is also an extremely survivor biased map."

Ok, now I know that you are either trolling or have no idea what you are talking about.

Hawkins having tons of Pallets is meaningless, when the Pallets are like "Get the stun or die". On most Hawkins-Pallets (there are like two which can be called "safe") you either have to stun the Killer or will get a Hit.

And Midwich is not survivor-sided at all, except for 2 or 3 God Pallets, every other Pallet is way too unsafe. You cannot find any Generators because there are no signs, you dont even know if the room you are entering (still) has a Pallet. There are some strong Loops, but those are gone once the breakable Wall connected to those Loops is broken.

Not saying that Midwich is killer-sided in any way, it is awful for Killer as well. But calling it survivor-sided is wrong.

  • If you hear it every time it is probably your playstyle.

  • Killers are non-stop complaining about "second chance Perks" and then there is some guy who is clearly not running any of them, and still complaining?

I am also not a big fan of Stealth-Builds, but if someone likes to play like that. You can still track Blood tho.

  • This can only be an issue on Hawkins. (Honestly, I would not even call that an issue, lol)

The Game and Midwich have short distances between the Gates. Hawkins takes a little bit longer due to the fact that you will most likely not be able to walk in a straight line, but this is RNG, if the right doors are open, you will manage to do an almost straight line.

And Lerys, the Gates can even spawn right next to each other.

  • You can be sure that the reason, why Jason is not in the game yet is NOT that the Devs dont want him to be in the game.

1 … 238 239 240 241 242 … 341
