The devs made old event-exclusive cosmetics available to everyone 1.5 years ago or so.

This does not apply to the Anniversary Cosmetics. Stuff like the Huntress Mask or the Pro-Pain Hammer were made available for everyone.

But everyone else already had this Jake-Head and other things like Dwearder in their inventory. Those just got unlocked during the first anniversary for all players to have it, and every Account created will have those.

  • Couldnt care less about it. I will never know if a Survivor or Killer is using Stretched Res, as long as they are not streaming.

If they are streaming and I see that there is a Blight on the Screen which is wider than his height (yes, have seen that one already), I have a good laugh for someone having to resort ot this measures in a game like DBD and keep on not caring about it.

  • I think everyone gets them, they just had to be unlocked during the Event back then.

  • I switched out DH for Adrenaline a few weeks ago. I dont really need an Exhaustion-Perk and I was just tired of DH not working. Especially because there is sometimes a new Trend where the animation actually starts and you still go down, mid DH-Animation.

I would probably run Balanced Landing, if they would not have made it the worst Exhaustion Perk. I used it before, it was great, they nerfed it, it is terrible. No point in using Balanced Landing IMO.

In general, if I want to go for an Exhaustion Perk, I would go for Sprint Burst now. It is stronger than DH anyway.

  • One of the things which make NOED a unhealthy Perk is the Movement SPeed Increase. Most Loops become laughable with 4% extra Speed.

You want to add 5% Speed as baseline. Really, no.

You cannot play around with Movement Speed like that, you have to be really careful with it. Adding a flat 5% to every Killer would be way too much.

Idc what BHVR tests, they completely ignore the veteran community and higher ranks. Nemesis isn't good at red ranks. Any veteran player (Otz, Scott, etc.) who plays him agrees that speed boost needs to go

Every Killer is good at Red Ranks. Nemesis is no exception. You can win at Red Ranks with every Killer.

Ah yes they make items for the characters with the popular outfits that get many sales. And never make things for the underappreciated chraxters which have a chance to skyrocket in sales.

BHVR is no charity, they want to earn money.

So they create Outfits for Characters which are frequently played - like Nea or Feng. The 3 Adam Mains who exist in the Community will not provide that much money when you create an Adam-Skin.

  • @fogdonkey said:

Unfortunately this is a wasted effort... BHVR usually doesn't listen and does things by their own imagination.

They do listen, but this does not mean that they need to follow.

E.g. in this document the OP wrote that the Speedboost should not be given to Survivors on the first Tentacle Hit from Nemesis. They will not do that, but not because they dont listen, because they tested it and decided against it.

Also written is that Exit Gates should regress - again, they tested it and decided against it.

Not doing anything (immediatly or at all) does not mean that they are not listening.

  • It should be a safety pip. I dont know if it is possible to 4K and Depip as Killer (other than Evil Incarnate), but it is frustrating to Depip as Survivor when escaping. Would also help against AFK-Killers, at least the Survivors get a Safety Pip like this without having to waste time in a boring game.

  • Even without the License, BHVR will be able to make changes to Demo if needed.

  • Honestly, Iron Will for me is more comfort than anything. I simply dont want to hear the Injured Sounds myself. Especially since some are...questionable, to say at least (like Jane or Claire).

It is a strong Perk, but I also dont really struggle to go against it.

  • All the time. Some Survivors watch their favorite Survivor Main Content Creator (not hating against those in general) and think they can do some Tricks like them, but they somehow skip the step of getting good at the game.

Yesterday the first thing I saw when playing Bubba was an Ace who flashlight-clicked me. He ran upstairs in Coal Tower, I followed him, he dropped, staggered, I got an M1 in, he went into the Window and upstairs again. This repeated the exact same (because when it did not worked the first time, it will surely work the second time) and he was down. 20 second Chase after being cocky.

My favorite Situations are Survivors who try to CJ-Tech. They see it in a video and dont realize that the Content Creator has to do like 50 games to get his two games where it worked... Someone is downed under a Pallet, they loop around it, drop the Pallet and you just know that they will try to CJ-Tech.

And well, it is also cocky to think that the Killer is stupid.

  • @remoirel said:

she's currently bugged so that survivors with iron will make no footstep noises in phase, and with a lot of people running iron will, whats the point? You need a Crystal Ball to figure out where anyone is when you're blind AND deaf holding m2

This is not related to Iron Will. However, you will not notice it, because you dont need Footsteps if they dont have Iron Will.

Please, you know perfectly well BT is not used as defense against tunneling, it's used to toxically bodyblock the killer after the unhook, so that both survivors can get away without taking a hit.

I use it only as a defense against tunneling and camping. I dont go for unsafe Unhooks unless it is necessary (Killer is camping and the person is about to die or reach second stage).

So if all Killers would stop doing that you will have at least one person who will not run BT anymore. :] But we all know that Killers like to tunnel and camp because it is a sTrAtEgY.

  • @ThiccBudhha said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2454431#Comment_2454431

I think killer mains do, because they always whine about what survivor mains calling them a tunneler. But yes, generally speaking, nobody in their right mind would care.

Yeah, I mean, I dont tunnel or camp, unless it is Endgame. But if I try to go for another person and someone with BT bodyblocks me, I will tunnel them out. Got called a Tunneler by a Meg who did this two times against me in the same game. She bodyblocked, I waited, she used Dead Hard into nothing, she was down, back on the Hook. And I really, really tried to go for another Survivor (one time the Unhooker, another time the guy I was chasing who ran to the Hook).

Got called a Tunneler by her, but at least one other Survivor called her stupid.

  • @gilgamer said:

So you can bitched at for tunneling. I don't even have a problem with bt honestly but unless a killer plays ubsurdly nice they will get ######### and even if they do survivors usually have trouble seeing the big picture of a game and will still think they are getting tunneled or camped or whatever.

Dont pretend that you would care about it. Nobody would care about getting bitched at for tunneling if the Survivor decides do bodyblock with BT.

  • @SilentPill said:

Probably because most meta survivor perks reward failure and it rarely feels like you got outplayed. Oh, I’m playing like crap and keep going down in 10 seconds? It’s fine I have perks for that.

At least Killer meta perks require some input from the killer for the most part. Ruin / Undying / Pop / etc do nothing if the killer isn’t getting fast downs.

The game will always remain a joke at “high level” play when 3 gens can get done in 2 minutes and survivors have such a massive pile of get out of jail free cards to crutch on.

There’s nothing stopping the gen rush + god pallets really. But you want to kill rush? No you can’t do that without eating like 4 extra lives in the form of perks first

Why do you bring up High Level Play? The Killers complaining about it are not even at High Level Play, including the popular Streamers complaining about it.

    @Topic:

It is pure hypocrisy. It is fine to run strong Perks, even tho I personally think, some Killers dont need to go over the top with their Builds. Like, a Blight does not need Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer, Blight is strong enough to be played with no Perks for the most part. But personally, I have more problems with that being Slowdown-Perks than being strong Perks, since I use strong Perks as well on all of my Killers and my Survivor Build is also full Meta.

I also doubt that Killers who complain about Survivor Perks will not use them - at least the majority will also use DH, despite complaining about it, as an example. I dont think that Killers who complain about the Meta will use Deja-Vu and stuff like that when playing Survivor and Survivors will not use Monstrous Shrine when playing Killer.

Like, there is a German Streamer with over 10k hours. Horrible dude, complaining when he gets a 3K (which happens rarely, since he is really good at Nurse and plays her most of the time and only uses the most broken things on every Killer), especially complaining about BT and DS, despite him tunneling all the time. And when he plays Survivor, he does not use those Perks, but uses Plunderers Instinct to get a Key every game.

Which is like...eh. Even worse in my opinion.

  • @Tekno_Badger said:

Because the devs only care about the survivor community, since they're the majority in a 4v1 game. They've become a profit-greedy, soulless corporation

This is why Survivors get nerfed for 5 years now... If Devs would only care for Survivor, they would still have their broken Stuff. Killers would still play, they played back then and would still play now.

    @Topic:

I dont think that Badham is that bad. The school and the House of Pain are strong, but it is not like it is impossible to win overall. Basically every Pallet outside of a Building is unsafe and playable for the Killer.

  • Can every Killer stop camping and tunneling then? I am nobody who hook-bombs, but I have BT for actual camping Killers. If all Killers please would stop doing that, I will gladly drop BT and use another Perk.

  • Someone already wrote that:

    Hello there,

so I just had a game of DbD where I was playing Cybil Banett against a Demogorgon.

Right after hooking a David he used his portal and teleported to another portal. From there on I heard his terror radius and went away from the gen I was doing.

I see his red light around the corner and immediately hide. But then I am wondering which way he is looking, since I can see only his red light. The next moment: I get hit and am injured, not knowing where he is. I start running, thinking I just missed to see him. The next moment I hear his hissing and the next moment I go down.

He charged at me and downed me. I am still wondering where he is, whether he hit me over a window or something, until he picks me up. I am now floating in the air, Demo carrying me but being invisible.

I dont mean undetectable, I mean he was legit not to be seen. All you could see is his red aura.

This was really frustrating to play against.

After I got unhooked by a David, I could see Demo again, normally.

Still this was a pretty weird experience and I think the first time I encountered a major bug.

I still love Demo and hate to see the Stranger Things Chapter leave, but this should be fixed please!

Note: I sadly dont have a video clip or a picture of it, since my PC would literally die if I recorded it.

You should upvote this and write in this Thread as well.

  • There is no reason for that. It is just Luck, nothing more. You got 1500 points for the Self-Unhook, this is at least something.

And I take what makes a jungle gym a jungle gym is it's survivor sided?

Hm. Not really. It is just the name for general Maze Tiles which spawn on Maps. It is one of the most common ones.

There are also Longwalls (1 long wall on the one side, a short all on the other side and a Pallet in between them) or T/L-Walls, which have two Windows and are formed l ike a T and a L when looking from above.

Longwalls and Jungle Gyms are strong for Survivors, because the Killer has to break the Pallets, because mindgaming the dropped Pallet is not really possible, unless you want to waste 45 seconds to go to Bloodlust 3.

  • @indieeden7 said:

I'd say it's pretty balanced, the old version of the map was awfully survivor sided. Now it's maybe just a bit more challenging for killer than your average map, nothing too noticeable.

I would not even say it was "awfully survivor-sided" back then when the Window still was a thing. It was more survivor-sided, but nothing which prevented me from burning a MacMillan-Offering.

(Funny enough I had better games against good Survivors on this Map before they nerfed the Window, because the good Survivors actually played other Tiles, the bad ones bee-lined to the Window...)

Those are Jungle Gyms. Blue = Pallets, green = Windows. Basically the Maze Tiles with Pallets and Windows.

I hope you aren't including Shelter Woods in that statement

While I do think that this Map is really outdated, I dont find it as miserable to play on as Survivor like some other Maps. E.g. I favor it over any Indoor-Map.

But yeah, I did not have Shelter Woods in mind when writing it, this might be an exception.

  • MacMillan-Maps are probably the most balanced Maps in the game. If you struggle on Ironworks this is most likely a you-problem (this goes for both sides, there is no reason to blame the Map if you die as Survivor or dont get a 4K as Killer).

  • I wish players would chill with such challenges. Three weeks until Tome Level 4 is released, there is more than enough time to complete challenges like this during normal gameplay.

  • IMO most of the players playing DBD are those "easy mode"-Players. You see it every time a new Tome is released, some players find Challenges too hard or that you need to "throw the game" to complete them. Instead of wanting to have an actual challenge, they want to be fed with a spoon and get rewards without doing something.

It is a shame to be honest, because DBD in general is not really a difficult game.

  • Ideally, yes. But I think it has quite low priority, those animations are even more rare than Hatch Closing-Animations. It is quite rare that Killers are opening the Gate.

Personally, I would prefer if Survivors would not look like they have just ######### their pants when they are injured and running first.

  • I play a lot of Pig and I dont think Tampered Timer is ok. It should not exist like that. Combined with the longer searching or the Extra Box, it is impossible for Survivors to do all Boxes if they get interrupted only a little bit.

I dont think this is fair. And it does not even feel rewarding, getting a Headpop is just a cheap RNG-Killer when it is because of Tampered Timer.

So if I come back to the tome a year later I'd be able to unlock the 4 charms at the end of the tome levels?

Yes. You will get the Charms, the Lore and the BPs, but no Rift Fragments.

  • No, you can do the Tomes whenever you want to do them. However, you have to complete a Level before you can reach the next Level, e.g. you have to reach the End of Tome Level 2 to play Tome Level 3.

Sure, it may have become easier but killer right now is not easy.

Jason in friday 13th the game is easy, because he is designed to be overpowered.

Killers in dbd are designed to be balanced and it makes them not easy.

In my opinion, Killer is pretty easy. Like, I would consider myself as an average Killer at best and I enjoy playing Survivor more, still I did not manage to get Rank 1 as Survivor last Rank Reset, but was Rank 1 as Killer pretty quickly. And I 4K most of my games and I am really not good at playing Killer.

I always think if I can manage to do well as Killer, someone who calls themselves a Killer Main should have an easier time than me.

Just because something op has been neft doesn't mean its not still broken or problematic(nurse) saying survivors are weaker now then ever doesnt mean they are not still super strong. Plus they just buff a bunch of maps and put a bunch of safe loops next to each other.

Oh and I've seen a few double palettes make a appearance not many to be fair.

Double Pallets can spawn on rare Occasions if the Minimum number of Pallets are not reached after placing all the Tiles. So if you have a lot of T/L-Walls or Tank Tracks, Tiles which dont spawn Pallets, but have not reached the minimum amount of Pallets, the game will spawn Double Pallets.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2450471#Comment_2450471

I only played since may 2021.

But how was killer not easier at launch, where moris worked with no hooks, and there was no perks like dead hard, BT or decisive strike?

Because Survivors had even broken Stuff. If we talk about the Launch:

There were double as many Pallets.

There were WAY more Windows. E.g. Ironworks, the upper Floor, every Window was open.

There was no Bloodlust and no Entity Blockers, so there were actual Infinites, Spots where the Killer cannot catch Survivors.

    Some Maps were bigger.

Some Structures got reworked a lot in 2020. E.g. Ironworks again: there was no Doorway next to the Window Downstairs, so it was a Window where you had to vault 3 times for the Entity Blocker to kick in. So basically, you were unable to chase Survivors there.

BT worked for both players when it was introduced, so both had BT (even tho, the mechanic was different, back then you had to heal to get out of the "Endurance"-State (Endurance was not a thing back then).

Brand New Parts completed a full Gen.

Syringes healed two Health States, Styptic Agents healed one Health State, both instant.

DS when introduced activated shortly after Pickup, no Unhook Requirement or anything. Later they changed it that only the Obsession has it shortly after pickup, other Survivors had to wiggle for 35% of their Wiggle Bar. So you might not have been able to pick the Obsession up, if there is no Hook nearby to dribble them (dropping them to avoid the DS) and even if you were able to dribble, it was so time-consuming.

Exhaustion was not a thing, back then a Perk like Sprint Burst was on 20 second Cooldown which also went down while running, so every 20 seconds the Survivor had Sprint Burst.

With Self Care and We Will Make it you were able to heal yourself faster than the recovery time of the Killer.

Vault Speeds of Killers were WAY slower, meanwihle Survivors were always able to fast-vault.

Those are just some things. And even then Killers were able to get Kills. Players who complain nowadays that Killer is hard really dont understand how easy it became. I am not saying that Nerfs or Buffs were not deserved, but saying that Killer is hard (or some say it has became harder or unplayable, lol) is simply wrong.

survivors get adrenaline when hatch is closed.

also most of my NOED games are not really impactful. Either all survivors die before NOED activates or all gens are done but all the bones are cleansed.

I highly doubt that you manage to kill all Survivors before the Endgame OR all Totems are cleansed. Both combined are pretty unlikely.

But what does it matter that the Survivor gets Adrenaline when the Hatch is closed? They almost never survive at this point anyway.

  • @Lord_Tony said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2450857#Comment_2450857

With adrenaline you actually have to do all gens then you get rewarded.

And again NOED doesn't activate when all the bones are done.

When the Survivors fail to do all generators, nobody has anything from Adrenaline. However, when all Totems are removed, the Killer has value out of NOED, even if it did not activate, because the Survivors spend time to cleanse Totems.

Even if the Killer is not running NOED; the Survivors might waste time doing Dull Totems for a Perk the Killer might not even have.

Let alone, most of my Adrenalines are not really impactful, because I am fully healed and not in a Chase when all Gens get done.

    only rank 20s play solo

comms are a crutch and pretty much any survivor is now with a buddy

I play 2 man SWF and still there are 2 factors (aka the other Survivors) we cannot really judge. Like, my friend was hooked, I was full Map away. Solo Survivor A was getting chased (just got injured), and Solo Survivor B was on a Gen quite close to my friend. So my friend told me that someone is close, I do my Gen. In the end, this other person did not bother to get up and I was forced to run full Map, my friend still went into second stage.

So dont think that only because someone play with "a buddy" that the whole team is coordinated. I get the information that someone is next to my friend, so I will stay on my Gen, but if that person does not bother to unhook (no Ruin in place what would have explained it..), it does not matter at all that we were on Comms. (I would have not moved if I would have played Solo, because I was too far away and when I do a Gen, I at least know that SOMEONE is doing Gens...)

You cannot just say "1 Small Game" is enough. Even if this person is saying that they have Small Game in the Pregame Lobby, there is no guarantee that they actually cleansed 5 Totems.

  • I would guess that it will be a new Map after they finished with The Realm Beyond. Currently, three Realms remain (Red Forest, Haddonfield and Backwater Swamp). There was nothing on the PTB, but BHVR has a few months until the next Anniversary, so it is possible that it is just a Map that will be released with a new Killer.

I doubt that we will get 3 Licensed Killers in one year (and I really hope that this will not be the case).

  • @TGB said:

This type of argument is very frequently used in every discussion in every game, because it is generally a very bland and "filler" kind of point to try to make.

First - if there's a problem at the highest level, then that still means the effects bleed out into all levels. We aren't playing a different game. Additionally, the difference between the top 1% of players and the top 2% of players is so minimal, YOU yourself wouldn't even be able to identify the tiny differences. That being said, you don't really understand what you're saying when you make the "point" you're trying to make. Skillful players account for a deeper percentage than the 1% you seem to think. And frankly, the only place where Killers are having "easy games" is against newbies who don't even know what loud noise notifications are.

Killers are OP when everyone's on day 1.

But to suggest that they're up to par after that point? Well, that's just silly.

There is a BIG difference between those players who play tournaments (where it actually becomes inbalanced) and the regular public Matches. First difference is that you will not encounter tournament players in public matches because they dont bother with them. They are playing KYF, because it is also not fun to dominate every Killer, because most Killers are also pretty bad at the game.

And in regular games - yes, you get skilled Survivors. But that is about it, they are just good at the game. And those are really the minority. Survivors also got nerfed for 5 years now while Killers received Buffs most of the time. Every Killer is viable against the majority of Survivors.

I dont really know what you want more. It is logical that Killer has to be the harder role, it is the 1 in the 1v4, obviously it has to be harder.

  • Killer is the easiest it has ever been and STILL people struggle with playing Killer.

It is impossible to make it that easy that every Killer can have easy games... The game is also not that imbalanced as people claim it to be. On the very highest Level, it is imbalanced, but 99,99% of the players are not at this level (including those who complain about it..).

  • I am not afraid to say that it is Trickster. A bit eccentric maybe, but he is good-looking overall.

  • You should. You also reported them ingame, so if you attach a video of what happened, they hopefully get banned.

I'm sorry I didn't know making threads bringing attention to issues with the game wasn't "important" enough for the forums.

You should open a Bug Report instead a Diary-Post in General Discussions. Because this is a Bug and it should be in the Bug Reports-Section.

Does anyone actually likes how legacy looks or they just want what they can't have?

Probably the latter. If they would give Legacy to the players who have Characters on P3-50 right now (which is not hard to get, really), many players would have it. And I guess only a few would actually use it, Legacy does not look that good in my opinion.

And it would be nothing special if many players have it.

Deliverance, counterforce, adrenaline, flash bang, Detective's Hunch...there are many perks on both sides that have to be "earned" before use. Having to perform an in game action to activate is the definition of earning a perk. NOED requires nothing is what OTZ means. NOED really isn't any good anymore anyways with all the totem hunting perks and decent players. My SWF will have all 5 totems gone in first minute. Its surprising more survivors don't totem hunt, but most players don't play this game correctly: FOR MAXIMUM POINTS!

Totems are Boldness-Points, those are probably the easiest to get. You dont need to do Totems to get max Boldness. If there would be no Category Cap OR Totems would give Survival-Points, you would see way more people cleansing Totems.

Also, you name it - SWF. Not everyone plays in an SWF. For me, cleansing Totems does not really make sense, since I dont know how many Totems my Teammates will do. So I might just waste my time for a Perk the Killer does not even have OR I waste my time and still get hit by NOED, because nobody else did Totems.

  • Probably too weak.

You would still need 80 seconds to recover Exhaustion and at this point, the Killer messes up massively if they need 80 seconds to get a Down against a Survivor who is moving at 95% Speed.

  • You know that those 360k positive reviews:

    • dont play all at the same time
    • or maybe stopped playing at all

    ?

Like, currently it is almost 1 PM in my country. People are at school, work, have other stuff to do.

  • Depends how the game is going. If they are my first chase, no. If I already have pressure, some Hooks and the Survivors did not do many Gens (or no at all), I will just go for the Chase, because it is fun.

1 … 165 166 167 168 169 … 341
