is an increase during double bp event really an increase? I know I swapped to survivor from killer simply because of the ridiculous wait times...MandyTalk said:I actually don't think there is a decline in numbers of survivors - 37k peak players today which is an actual increase in recent numbers.
and yea... barely made a third of the bp I would have as killer. -
I use dark sense and alert in every build... so yea... they do get used, especially by those who want to play stealthy and avoid being anywhere near the killer.Orion said:I'm just gonna focus on the one aspect I find most confusing. If aura reading is so powerful, how come Survivors don't use it?

lmao... this thread is hilarious tbh. firecrackers are fun for me on either side... I can't count the number of times I've used them against survivors.
fake a blind moment, watch them hide 3 feet away, smack them. lol. these aren't that hard to avoid... I'm not usually one to throw this nonsense around... but quit whining and git gud. -
If you haven't tried it yet... try out pig with a full HEX build... slowing down the game is made even easier and gives the survivors an almost mandatory objective outside gens... punished if they do (haunted grounds) punished if they don't (Noed).
it will only amuse for a few rounds, but thought I would share. -
pretty sure we're getting rare/ultra rare perks at a higher rate. true, survivors are getting those too... but at a lower rate due to the firecrackers.
but, ya know... so not fair. xD -
I play amanda most and I run
Hex: Ruin - spies from the shadows - Bitter Murmur - Unrelenting
but I've begun playing wraith a lot and on him I run almost full hex. (still need haunting grounds unlocked.)
Hex: Noed - Hex: Ruin - Hex: Thrill of the hunt - Bloodhound (may swap this for haunted ground later on) -
I like SFTS. I run it on pig and it proves to be useful in almost every match. Silly survivors and completely ignoring crows. xD
-
honestly, I like this idea, but I don't think it fits in with DBD at all.
it completely removes the actual "killers" from the game and they are kinda the whole reason DBD exists to begin with.
with all of that said, sounds like a fun game on its own. reminds me of some the garrys mod stuff. -
and yet borrowed time is the closest thing we have to a legit counter against face campers... besides genrush which just flat-out doesn't work without communication or SWF.
but, ya know... it's not like anyone ever camps. -
I generally prioritize based off of behavior.
if someone is trying to distract, I look for who they're trying to protect.
if someone is constantly running in to save their friend... their friend is now bait which will be hunted and downed to bring out their friend and give me a 2 for 1 special.
if someone is decent at looping and teabags or clicky-clicks everytime they drop a pallet I will slug and teabag (as amanda) until they die, hoping they've learned they aren't as good as they think.
teammates who sell out other survivors are also given top priority for slugging or hooks and being face camped.
otherwise, I'm an opportunist... I take what the round gives me... and generally aside from toxic asshats... I hook and release without killing. -
same... I was excited when I first learned about the perk... but once I figured out how it works I lost all interest.
I prefer to play in ways that keep me from getting caught to begin with... so having a perk I have to follow the killer around to use seems to defeat the purpose. a cooldown would make this a decent perk. one that might actually make me break my current build.

I was going to point out to Nickenzie that they/you DO know you're ruining the game for the less experienced players and the fact that you openly admit it is rather sad, honestly.Tsulan said:
You wrote "I rather sit in a queue" wrong.Nickenzie said:
I'll rather play at my entitled rank than derank to bully survivors with my Spirit. People who derank want easy games but they don't know that they are ruining the experience for the survivor side since they are less experienced than you.Tsulan said:
What's the point in ranking up? Rank 1 has long queues, gen rushers, expert loopers, death squads, and no reward for getting there.Nickenzie said:
You can camp all you want but you're gonna get gen rushed because you're not applying map pressure. Additionally, you also lose emblem points towards your Chaser category (I think, I never camped so I don't know what it takes points off of). I usually play strong killers like the Spirit who doesn't need to camp because she is strong enough to hook everyone 3 times on rotation. Overall, it comes down to your preference, if you camp then it's gonna be harder to rank up, especially against survivors who know how to punish it.Tsulan said:After the recent BBQ nerf.
Out of curiosity.
On lower ranks you don't have those problems and even get more points.
So why bother?
Why should I care for them? They sure as hell don't care for me.
It explains, quite clearly, the type of player you are and really discredits any kind of point you try to make when it's clear you would rather just play easy mode at the expense of anyone else's ability to be able to enjoy the same game, regardless of balance.
as you've said, "why should they care for you, you sure as hell don't care for them".... the major difference here is that YOU are going out of your way to get into lower ranks and ruin their fun... while they are just trying to play the game. -
they sprained their ankle? xDjackmadrox said:I propose a new perk to discourage teabagging survivors. "Teabaggers Curse". Pretty much, when you crouch too many times in a few seconds, your speed gets nerfed, essentially making it easier for the killer to catch you, for a limited amount of time.
-
I think it's awesome when survivors get handed a raw deal and the killer helps them out... whether that's through farming or just pulling their punches a bit so they can escape.
-
and yet the killer gets far more bp for achieving their goal than survivors. I couldn't care less about whether I pip or not... but when I have to play two matches as survivor to equal what I would get in one match as killer... why would I waste my time when the grind is already frustratingly slow on both sides?
-
so the objective of the killer is to kill and survivors are entitled if they gripe and moan about the methods they use to do such.... but the goal of survivors is to run around and gain points until they're killed for not escaping?
-
I don't know about "right where the devs wanted him" as even they have admitted he needs some tweaks, but he's definitely not as bad as some would have us believe.
-
you definitely can't expect every killer to be like this, but if I find a survivor intentionally trying to ######### over their teammate like that, I will do everything I can to kill the snitch and let the other go free.
-
I've managed to do that daily before too, I'd say right now it's kinda hit-or-miss and not really worth the effort since it's not counting properly... most of the other daily's are a lot easier anyway.
-
I like the amount of thought that is put into this and I applaud your honest attempt at seeing the issues facing both sides.
with that said, the stamina system would likely end up buggy as all hell. (given the plethora of coding issues within the game already) but if the devs could figure it out, I would say it's at least worth a try in the PTB or something to see how it fares. Same could be said for the camping aura... and honestly, there's so many players who camp solely for toxic reasons that I doubt it will fix it.
(and before I get flamed for saying that NO I do not think all camping is toxic, but there's definitely situations where the motive for it is sheer toxicity)
also, as I'm sure you've already noticed, you're fighting a losing battle here on the forums... you can NOT say/imply/insenuate/or suggest that killers have an easier time, more fun , more rewarding gameplay, or anything of the such without invoking the wrath of the little gang that's formed here.
But I hope you keep posting and wish you luck. -
been noticing a lot of little texture bugs like this since latest patch.
clutter and debri on the ground, rod-iron fencing at the tops of walls, certain portions of rocks, and a myriad of other little odds and ends.
I assume it's one of many little bugs the most recent patch has caused and it'll get fixed... ya know... after new years. -
if you want more BP then don't finish your objective and escape... you know... the main goal for survivors.TheHourMan said:
If you only got 15k you did not do good. There's more to playing survivor than just getting out alive you know. Gen rushing then running straight out of the exit will net you less points than antagonizing the killer, healing allies and searching chests, even if you die. Take the time to do other things if you want more points. A perfect game gets you 32k points.SiftHeadsDude said:I know this might generate comments such as “git gud” and such haha, but playing as a survivor gets you so much less than a killer. Surviving and doing good nets you like 15k max, dying and doing good about 10k. Doing bad still less. Being a bad killer gets you at least 20k though and it keeps going up if you do good. I feel playing as a survivor is such a chore if you want to get serious bloodpoints, it makes more sense to just spam play the killer. I feel they should increase/add a reward for straight up finishing the game, or split it between completing the game and the struggle phase (to discourage intentional suicides)...thoughts?
instead you should stick around so the killer can get his 4k...
makes sense. -
had the same issue the other day, three different rounds, finishing more than 3 gens with other people... it never counted anything.
stayed at 0/180 even after restarting the game too... ended up trashing that daily. -
if you don't understand how ridiculous it is for 3 survivors to fix 5 gens, I don't know what to tell ya.
yea they probably should have just DC'd from the start, but I wouldn't entirely call that salt... just counting his losses and moving on to the next match which will hopefully be more fair. Even the response seems rather matter-of-fact rather than salty. -
I'm pretty much the same way, I very rarely actually go for kills and generally have more fun by just making things "difficult" for the survivors.
jump scares, slugging, traps, harassment, but all in good fun.
I have more fun if I know the others are having fun too.
however, if someone is gonna be toxic, clicking flashlights and teabagging... I'm gonna torture them a bit extra. slugging and camping, sacrifice, dribble till they're free and put them down again to watch them bleedout... but that's really rare, once they see I'm letting people go, those toxic behaviors usually disappear too.
I also do this because, contrary to what most will say, I feel like Killer is way easier than survivor and I want people to enjoy playing survivor too. need survivors just as much as we do killers. -
people on this forum will argue over anything I swear.
I don't think there is a way to remove her once you've purchased her.
I have to agree I would find it an odd request, but I understand your reasoning.
-
agreed. It's possible that it is the current matchmaking system, but I'm willing to bet that a lot of people are playing more killer than survivor.
legion may have something to do with it, but I can think of plenty of other reasons to avoid playing survivor all together. -
first time poster... let me save you some grief... the forum is en echo chamber for toxic players, killer and survivor alike.
you won't enlighten anyone and your IQ may drop from frequent attempts to have rational discussion.
that said there are a few bright lights here. you'll figure out which ones to ignore and which ones have more than two brain cells with time. -
its never been easier for solo survivor... I would genuinely love to see some kind of factual basis for that sentiment.
easier for SWF? absolutely.
solo? get real. -
love how people like to assume what everyone else will do, and I have plenty of posting showing exactly how I've played as a killer and no, I don't camp, because I'm not trash.Tsulan said:

- DC leaving you at a blatant disadvantage.
- Legitimately skilled killer that kicks the teams ass.
yes, there are the occasional rounds where I'm not matched up with potatoes or run into a killer who genuinely doesn't get sweaty for kills... but you mix all of this with the lack of bloodpoints and the current bugs in the game, one of which refuses to accumulate my co-op actions for the daily ritual and its just one frustration after the other.
and yea, I could go on to list the myriad of bugs that plague this game, but a quick browse through this forum and you'll see it laid out for you.
the devs have done a great job in many ways, I won't pretend that the game isn't good, but the cons weigh out the pros far too horribly.
seriously bhvr, you need to fix this game, as it is it just feels like a shameless money grab from your customers.
I am really looking forward to see you become a killer main.
Lets wait some days maybe weeks and see how your postings will change.^^ -
I already am a killer main, always have been... but I keep trying to play survivor because that's actually the aspect of the game that brought me in to begin with. I've been a killer main from the start because it's easier and less frustrating than playing solo survivor.Wolf74 said:@Avariku said:

and I've stated many times before that I have NO issue with patrolling a hook, that's just smart, same for tunneling... if I go back to a hook and the unhooker is already gone but the injured guy is sitting there healing like an idiot... he asked for it. (that wasn't really to you, just in response to some other comments)
my opinions on this will not change because this game is NOT survivor sided. SWF sided, sure... but survivor? no.
and don't give me that crap of "just go play another game." I paid the same for this game as you did, I'll take a break from survivor, but not the game. go ######### yourself with that attitude. (again, not specifically to you, just in general to those that gave that response)
The devs NEED to fix the blatant imbalance between solo and SWF. period. Survivor is not fun for solo and the lack of earning any significant BP by playing that role is just a slap in the face.
as I mentioned on another thread, there's so much that favors killer indirectly that it makes solo survivor painful to play.
- lag favors the killer
- pallets aren't responsive lately meaning I'm standing there mashing the button but the pallet doesn't drop until I'm already hit or down.
- camping favors killers against randoms not SWF.
- survivor DC favors killer, which is the only one who gets a BP bonus for it too.
the list could go on, but I already know it won't do any good preaching this to other killer mains, they just want their 4k's and obscene power roles while survivors are there only for their entertainment. -
lmao. all the killers defending their power role and preaching their tired nonsense of the game being survivor sided. it might be SWF sided, but it is not survivor sided as a whole.
I've tried, honestly tried to continue playing survivor, because I enjoy the chase, the tense uncertainty that surrounds each round... but as time has gone on, I'm one of those that has completely quit survivor.
-pallets haven't been reliably dropping when I need them to, instead I have to hit the button 5-6 times sometimes and by then I'm either hit or down.
- less bloodpoints
- campers
- lag favors the killer
- hit boxes are pretty generous for the killer
- Survivor DC favors killer (but they are the only ones who get a disconnect bonus)
- coop action hasn't been counted so I can't even complete that daily for more bp.
meanwhile when I play killer, I ONLY have stress when I'm going up against a sweaty SWF team and even then I manage 2-4k and I at least made them work for it.
if it's just your average team, I take my time and have fun with it... I don't even have to kill anyone to get 20k bp. yea... survivors just have it all...
-
yea... I'd prefer an "avoid" function rather than report.
-
there absolutely should be a way to avoid players you don't want to be paired up with anymore.
I've been saying that since I started playing this game. Some of the people in this community have no business being able to interact with others the way they do and to do it without punishment is insulting. -
I hate seeing that other people run into this issue as much as I do, but at the same time it's nice to know I'm not the only one, cause if you just base it off of the forums you would thinking running into campers is pretty rare... But I run into a camping killer in over half of my rounds...
-
This really does need to happen... I solo queue and steamrolled in over half of my survivor matches meanwhile as killer, usually the only time I have serious trouble is against SWF.
-
lmao, if they removed a window then YES they stopped you from being unable to go the same way as when the window was there.AlexAnarchy said:@feechima said:

So there isn't less pallets on the maps, closed off windows to long loops, less safe pallets, and you're getting smoked on the best killer map...well damn? The game needs more pallets than most maps. The entire map except for two rooms one on top and bottom is a dead zone. Loops will always be a thing, there is no other way to efficiently evade a killer for more than 2 seconds, it's even harder to get from one safe zone to the next now. Also, I'm curious what alternative to looping do killer mains propose?
Looping itself has never been nerfed, learn the difference.
Successful looping is done by means of objects in the way, no? So you remove the means to loop, therefore stopping the loop short or preventing it from happening. Learn the difference. I mean I can loop around a pebble, but it doesn't make much of a difference in keeping me alive. Now if I loop through two windows and around a building then one of those windows are closed, I have less options to loop, now don't I?
Looping itself has never had any form of nerf, or are you suddenly having the loop blocked or your character unable to go that same way?
which would be a nerf to that loop and looping in general... the mental gymnastics some people will go through to keep from admitting they're wrong is mind-boggling sometimes. -
So much this!MisterCremaster said:@Master said:
Camping is actually a really bad and weak strategy. Once you stand 2 minutes afk in front of the hook, all gens should be done and the other 3 survivors should have an easy escape.
IN reality however, the entitled survivors throw themselves at the hook and crying about "noob strats" afterwards, but if you are using your brain (apparemtöly you've played games long enough to make logical conclusions), then you see that its the survivors who make this a viable strategy.
Now we can ask ourselves why that is the case. My answer to this is sad, but the devs have catered to survivors for so long (look this dlc for example) that they have been never forced to adapt and refuse to do so if they can get "camping fixed" for example by crying enough.
Thats why there is so much negative input if you request a "camp fix"That is only the case in a SWF group though, or one where the hooked survivor just happens to have Kindred. A non-SWF group will almost ALWAYS spend too much time trying to figure out if the guy is being camped. And, for better or worse, most non-SWF groups don't want to just let some random guy die on the hook, so they do spend more time waiting to see if the killer will leave, or assume that the other survivor is doing generators. The hook gymnastics is not known to everyone, and a lot of players assume that it means "COME SAVE ME!"
A lot of issues with camping would be resolved if Kindred was removed as a perk and just part of the base kit. Would even the gap between solo and SWF. As the original OP appears to be running as a solo-queue survivor, camping is harder hit on him.
as someone who only solo queues camping is one of the most irritatingly detrimental things in the game. It doesn't affect SWF like it does a bunch of randoms.
Someone gets hooked but you stay on your gen, hoping to get more progress or that someone else is going to go save them.
30-45 seconds later they're still hanging there, so you hop off gen to go see what's up. As you get close you hear the TR, are they camping? or just hard patrolling? You stealth your way closer until you can see that nope, this asshat is camping... of course.
so now you have to run back to your gen to complete it, but at this point you've wasted nearly a full minute or more and it's likely that one or both of the other survivors have done the same thing. so now you're down one man with maybe one gen close to being done...
on the other side, a SWF member gets caught by a camper.
"hey guys, he's camping me, just finish gens"
problem solved. easy win.
Camper - survivors are OP, I HAVE to camp. -
Malakir said:I haven't for example but just the fact you say killers get double or triple bp compared to survivors it's bs
True, when I play killer I get around 50k but when I play survivor most of the time I get more than the killer, especially surviving the trial. Many times I got 23k and the killer less than 20k
Plus I harvest chests getting free stuff and taking them with me while as killer I always lose add ons. I think you might need to improve as survivor if you get 1/3 of a killer BP since it doesn't happen anymore to me. Only when I was new to the game I saw that
some experiences may vary, but I have to agree that I tend to get a lot less than killer whether I survive or not. On average I would say anywhere from 14k to 20k. And more often than not that's at least two and a half gens, healing a teammate, maybe healing myself, and at least one hook save, usually two or three.
meanwhile I will, yet again, point out that an increase BP for survivors has literally NO effect on killers... it's not like we want anyone else to get less, we just want survivors to stop getting crumbs in comparison.
the lesser amount of BP is one of the big reasons I play killer way more than survivor. -
Where is that LOL button?!!Rebel_Raven said:Legion is like a cheetah wearing sleigh bells. -
I was under the impression that it was harder for killer to survivor AND for survivor to see the killer too, especially with the reduced red-stain.

we've literally had killers on this forum say they camp just to ruin the round for other people, quite proudly in fact. -
much like most every other online game, I wish there was a way to avoid players you know to be toxic... I get that an avoid system could be abused... but still...
-
first off.. what in the unholy ######### are you trying to say?
I'm fairly sure that hidden behind those asterisks is something that's most likely illegal in 7 states.
and second ... trying to heal me under the hook is one of the most infuriating things in this game for me. I'm not saying we need to run a marathon to the other corner of the map, but can we at least take cover behind something that doesn't have a fresh coating of my insides dripping from it? -
with how greedy this latest DLC comes across... I wouldn't be surprised.
-
as much as I would like to stand up for the devs on this one... various quotes and decisions they have made make it seem like they only want money and ultimately don't care what their customers think about their product.
not to mention the issues some of their customers have had to deal with just to receive merchandise they've purchased. (masks and anniversary shirts)
Honestly I regret buying this dlc, not because of Legions lack-luster power, but because they locked the character I wanted behind a paywall (susie)... just seems greedy.
I'm honestly not sure how much longer I'll be able to stomach this game which is really sad given how much money I've poured into it. -
can we get some hoodies for survivors please?

I know!! how dare someone have an opinion that doesn't agree with the masses.iTz_KilLaZ_x said:Nice bait mate. Continue supporting poor game design and lazy development. I’m sure that’ll really help the games lifespan lol
