Then why not exclusively camp "loopers" to teach them a lesson instead of punishing everyone?Nebiros said:You bitches can all stop complaining to be honest, since camping is just as fair, and is just as much a "tactic" as looping a single area is. There is no argument that any survivor mains can make about camping, that killer mains like myself can't fight back against with looping. I camp and I admit it because not a single matchup goes by that I am not looped by at least one survivor, but if and only if it ever stops since such a mass horde of you do it, only then will I stop camping, and I don't give a flying [BAD WORD] if we got 0 bloodpoints because we camped, as long as I am proving my point and still having fun, cause camping is our time of joy and unfair advantages, while the rest of the match all leading up to us camping, is you survivors looping, as your only viable tactic for "escape". And at least camping can be easily countered, but looping, however, nothing can be done about it half the time except to ignore that survivor and walk away from the bullshit, hoping the next dumb ass you catch fairly doesn't pull the same thing as a "tactic".
second, as a killer main, I don't care about loopers... I get frustrated, sure, but then I WALK AWAY, find someone else, and open up a chance to find that looper in a situation they can't escape.
but that's the big difference... you can opt to walk away from a looper... you can't just walk away from being camped...
you're left with two options.
- hang there and give them what they want in the hopes that your team will finish gens and rob the camping prick of their points.
- DC or struggle to death and screw your team over.
funny that you claim to be justified while simultaneously blaming others for a situation you actually have a choice about participating in.
xD -
am I misreading, or are you asking for a match of 2v4? cause that seems broken as all hell.
-
That one survivor that always seems to find the killer after you just unhooked them.
and no, I dont mean you unhooked them with your heart pounding in your ears.
no, the killer left, you unhooked, you both left the hook, healed up, and 30 seconds later they're back on the hook.
like, nah, I'm not going back there! -
Hopefully both! xD
-
See? that's the thing... perhaps it's being rank 11 killer and 13 (I think) on survivor... but I rarely run into situations as a killer where I just "don't stand a chance".Blueberry said:This isn't even a close call, killer is way worse. The negatives of survivor don't even matter if you're a good looper because you don't get caught. Hell even if your team is trash you still get to escape for free from the hatch. Playing survivor at rank 1 is hardly stressful at all, you can watch a show and eat some pizza on the side.
With killer you're gonna eat those loops and toxicity regardless bar a few exceptions like nurse etc. You don't have a choice as killer but it can be avoided as survivor.
Meanwhile, as a survivor, I run into futile rounds all the time. Either getting camped (and no, I don't mean hard-patrolled, which I'm fine with.), getting farmed, or I'm stuck doing 3-4 gens alone, only to end up being last survivor and unable to locate/escape via hatch.
I'm not sure if I'm just an exception to the general rule, or if others can relate, but that's why I made this post. -
Honestly, when I'm learning a different killer I get stomped, but when I play pig I often go easy on survivors and still end up with kills and plenty of BP while still just "toying" with them.... but most killers scream that it's a constant beatdown for them.
-
That is fair, I'm sure the toxic voice-chat would be very much abused, but I also feel that if reporting such abuse was taken seriously and investigated properly... bans and other punishments would halt that.
however, I do like the idea of the voice-chat notification as opposed to actually hearing them.
however, I feel like the killer should be able to overhear their planning as to incorporate more realistic play. You wouldn't want the killer to know what you're up to, after all. -
also, I heavily believe that they should utilize an in-game chat mechanic... preferably one that is handled by a radius.
as in, everyone can hear everyone, provided you're within a certain radius. louder the closer you are to that person.
it would solve quite a bit and be pretty realistic since you'd want to shut the hell up when the killer is around. -
First, I appreciate the feedback I've gotten so far, and for most of it I think its pretty reasonable responses.
With that said, I think taking SWF out entirely is a bad option. Perhaps limiting it to 2 players would be a good middle ground. (as in a team would consist of two teams of two friends)
Or at the very least giving us different modes to play that might limit this situation.
however, I feel either of those options would lengthen our already extensive wait times. -
Leatherface - throws someone down and repeatedly smashed their head in with his hammer.
Hillbilly - either throws someone down or grabs onto them, either way ends up with his chainsaw running through their chest.
Clown - shoves one of his poison vials into their mouth and smashes their jaw so it shatters.
Spirit - grabs survivor by the head and shoves her sword through their throat from behind as the survivor grips the end sticking out front before going limp. -
It'll be a bit before I get a chance to watch it, but I'll definitely let ya know.
-
absolutely will do!! thanks!
-
I'll just have to let my imagination do the job... it's a pretty amusing mental image. ^.^
-
lmfao. absolutely!!!
now I want someone to make a comic of this. xD -
definitely... never thought I would pity such a merciless killer. xD
-
or they just gang up on him and beat him mercilessly until they gather the tools to kill him... it's a pretty consistent thing now.
and the community is just as toxic as DBD.
x.x -
Yea... I loves the game for quite some time... the animation/cinematic kills are pretty amazing. the gameplay mechanics allow for a lot of fun/shenanigans...
but then there's a lot of counsellors who exploit every bug in the game and end up abusing the poor jason player to the point that the game isn't even fun anymore.
thats honestly what brought me to DBD to begin with. I DO wish Jason could be added, but considering the legal troubles friday the 13th is having... it would be a terrible idea.
oh well, hopefully we will get some unlicensed creations to compensate for the loss of Jason. xD -
friday the 13th is honestly not THAT bad of a game... but at the same time, it is pretty awful that they've been dealt a killing blow from the copyright holders.
even worse considering so many bought and paid for the game just to end up having lost money on it and further development/balancing being abandoned over it.
even more sad considering DBD is better off staying away from a character that would be such an amazing addition to the game.
but oh well, "wish in one hand..." right? -
Never understand why people resort to camping. (except for opened gates OR to punish a toxic survivor)
it's boring, doesn't score much BP, and it kinda kills the whole round.
guess trash will always be trash, just stay on the hook as long as possible to help your team and hope the next killer has some legit skills instead of Noob-fu -
I honestly would love to see Heather Mason in the game as a survivor.
-
psh... even as a killer main, I 100% agree that camping is for trash players.
under certain circumstances, sure. that survivor ran you in circles while teabagging? sure.
that survivor intentionally farmed one of his allies? sure...
you've barely manage to hit anyone and now the gates are open? sure...
but generally? no, hook and walk away... nothing wrong with patrolling or occasionally coming back across while you check out another spot... but just sitting and literally camping?
nah, it's you that needs to "git gud"
camping is lazy, BORING, and not fun for anyone... besides... you're not getting ######### for bloodpoints and the other survivors will most likely be getting gens done while you're sitting there with your thumb up your ass. -
true that... it's very annoying... but I just try to let it go. they obviously have nothing else in life to brag about. x.x
-
"Be the change you want to see in the world" right?
that's why I play friendly killers... eve when I don't I still play a "fair" killer.
cause playing solo survivor has lost its appeal with all the facecampers and dc'ing survivors I run into... -
Agreed. I main killer, but I am for fun so it doesn't stress me out. With that said, while I don't fret it and aim mostly just to spook the survivors occasionally and keep them on their toes, not worrying about whether or not I "win"...
it even irks me a bit when I finally spot my first survivor, get mid-chase and hear 3 gens pop all at once...
But even still, camping just sucks any fun out of it to me... yea, I could get a guaranteed kill, but am I having fun just standing there watching them die??? no... I'm bored and the other survivors are escaping.
but... thats just me...
as for the gate camping... the only time I do that is if someone has been left behind and I'm weighing out the options for a potential rescue.
can't stand running around looking for survivors, just to find 3 of them inside a door teabagging and clicking lights.
like, yea, you won... do you really have to be twats about it? you're not dbd pros, you just beat a very mediocre player. xD -
Yikes, then the comments got me WAY off topic. x.x
my apologies.
I have no advice on that one, since it's a problem I commonly encounter, mainly I just roll my eyes and run at them and let them get that "last word in" so that they can go on and get that pointlessly inflated ego and go bug someone else.
it's almost an annoying as the camping killer to me, just them trying to pat themselves on the back. I assume their mommy didn't hug them enough and just let them get that last little thrill... I have better things to do than worry about them. -
While I'm not rank 1, I'm far from rank 20 either.(currently sitting at 11, I think...)
Rank means very little in this game so please take your elitist attitude and shove it, unless you have something constructive to add.
-
fair point, but it's still usually better than survivors trying to rescue and getting downed themselves, then the camper feels his "tactic" is effective and has no incentive to stop.
I absolutely detest campers and will only ever resort to camping to secure a kill on a toxic player. (people farming their teammates, bodyblockers, or the ones who are blatantly ruining others game.)
I hate that camping is seen as a "legit" tactic. It's lazy, boring, and ruins the game. -
if I reiterated something you already said and you're talking about me... I likely forgot you had said something to that affect after reading through all of the comments.
-
Honestly, just cause I'm friendly, doesn't mean I'm farming... I just like everyone to have a fun time.
I play "friendly pig" all the time. hunt them, down them, put a beartrap on their head and let them go while I hunt for a new toy. I hook them if I'm relatively certain someone nearby can vet them down and I "try" not to hook people more than twice.
I still get accidental kills, and I still let people go... but to me, its the thrill of the chase... the risk of MAYBE getting killed...
no one wants a boring game, but no one wants to be tunnelled or killed in the first minute of the game either.
but I will admit, it always irks me when I let them go or something and they stand by the gate tea-bagging like they're badasses... like please... I spun in circles for 30 seconds while you wiggled free... I could have killed you if I wanted to. -
I kinda agree, but at the same time, its about positioning... if you KNOW the killer is likely to put you down, try to run as far away from any hooks OR get yourself into a tight spot with obstacles that your wiggling might make them bump into...
as a survivor I never feel like I can get free, but as a killer I always feel like the hooks are too far away... it's honestly a toss up most of the time.. -
the creature from "splinter"
Heather Mason from Silent Hill
and for the map I would prefer something along the lines of Raccoon City. A destroyed city with burning vehicle wreckage, dark alleys, and maybe a block worth of a little park to run through. -
as has been said many times, if someone is camping LET THEM CAMP. at that point it is your job to get your team out of the match as quick as possible.
it's lame, ruins the game, it sucks to have 2/5 players just sitting there watching the clock... but they're only hurting themselves by not getting bloodpoints and letting all the other survivors get out.
The sooner we stop feeding them by insta-dc'ing, or getting killed trying to save the hooked player, the sooner the no-skill campers move on to another tactic.
-
the luck penalty seems unneeded since the % is so low anyway and you mentioned NO option to unhook themselves... so... seems kinda redundant.
apologies if I misread, but otherwise it seems fine, despite the fact that I would leave the luck alone and still give them the option to "attempt" to unhook themselves.
I like the added status affects though.... those make perfect sense to me. -
This is my preferred playstyle honestly.
Thanks to a friendly killer I ran into when I was still learning the game, I opt to play "friendly pig". This doesn't mean that I'm entirely benevolent, I still love tormenting survivors... but this just means that I chase them, down them, put a trap on their head, then pick them up, then move to the nearest jigsaw box and spin around in place until we're both ready to vomit and they break free.... then I go find another toy.
I only hook survivors when I know there is someone nearby ready to set them free and I try to keep track of how often I have hooked them so I don't end up killing them.
(Although I still occasionally get the accidental kill when someone fails to get the reverse-beartrap off of their head, or if their teammates forsake them on the hook.)
I find it much for entertaining when I'm just trying to spook them or keep them on their toes, rather than acting like a try-hard and killing everyone.
bloodpoints all around and everyone ends up having a good time.
But if I happen to find a player that farms their teammates or intentionally drops pallets in front of them or something.... I will hardcore facecamp their sorry asses till they're impaled and carted off to the great grinder in the sky. ^.^ -
I honestly don't get why its such a big deal. with the right perks his invisibility is insane.
-faster uncloaking
-temporary speedboost after uncloaking
almost a guaranteed hit. mind you, I barely play wraith, though I intend to change that once I get my survivor maxed out...
but even playing piggy as my main, I often leave an entire team at my mercy without truly trying. (I play friendly pig and rarely go for "kills", just get bloodpoints and have fun terrorizing survivors.)
Even commonly scoring a kill or two by sheer accident... if you're survivors are escaping with barely a scratch, maybe you need to reevaluate your killer or your playstyle... -
Unfortunately its down to you to punish the camper by doing gens and getting your team out as quickly as possible.
they're only hurting themselves by camping. I feel bad for the survivor who wasted the loading time it took just to sit on a hook for 2 minutes, but the camper isn't gonna get much BP anyway... so get out if you can and move on to the next match, hoping for a killer that has some skill instead of lame "tactics" -
everyone is here to have fun... it's not always about "winning"
friendly killers downing survivors only to drop them on the hatch...
or a last remaining survivor running out to let the killer get a consolation kill...
it's nice to see I'm not alone in trying to make everyone's experience a little better.
there's enough toxicity out there already. -
camping is perfectly legit, but those perks and buffs need to go....
really? that's a pretty weak stance. -
Never underestimate what being a friendly player can do.
After playing the game for a few weeks I bumped into someone I endearingly refer to as "the friendly pig"... He would spook the hell out of me by literally stealthing up to me on a gen I was working on, and despite pivoting my camera, I never noticed them until he was RIGHT NEXT TO ME. and I mean, her piggy ear was practically pressed against my shoulder.
I freaked and started to run, but she didn't move... so I came back to cautiously survey the situation, only to have her approach me, look at the gen, and rapidly nod.
I took the hint and went back to work, she left, downed a few teammates, but I noticed she never hooked them.
she did the same to me, but when she saw I had a teammate nearby she hooked, downed the teammate, brought them to me and spun in circles until she was free to help me down.
I have been playing "friendly pig" ever since.
I will hunt people down, put traps on their heads, and only hook them if I'm SURE there's a teammate closeby to save them.
and if I notice a toxic survivor, they get killed outright... no mercy for trolls.
but I have made tons of friends and have made a lot of people message me about how much of a relief it was to have a "fun" killer who would hunt them, but still let them have fun too.
there's enough toxicity in the world, there's no need to add to it. -
"because they played bad"
what an ego...
I've literally had rounds where I was the only survivor doing a damned thing. I got 3 gens done by myself, other survivors were busy getting camped/killed.
(in essence this means that without their distractions I couldn't have gotten those gens, but still.)
and I ultimately ended up having to find the hatch because the killer was keeping a good patrol on the last remaining gens.
to take the hatch option away is just flat out BS and any killer who whines about it needs to take some time to check their entitled attitudes.
even in the other scenario of having two DC'ing and one killed... that lone survivor got handed a really bad hand and if they managed to find the hatch and escape, they deserve it just as much as the killer deserves the kill.
and I main killer, so don't come at me with that survivor mentality crap either. I'm more than happy to accept losing one survivor to the hatch, cause if I play well (and fair) then I have plenty of BP anyway.
