  • derank isn't the solution, I think if a survivor dc's more than a certain percentage, they should be forced to play as killer for a certain number of games or allotment of time.
  • great idea!! instead of having people whine and complain about "too many" or "too few", give them some semblance of control over it.
  • I definitely agree that while the mechanic would be similar, they are two very different games at this point... yes, some killers have a hard time with some survivors... but if they really want to feel like the survivors are "too OP" they should go play f13 for a bit... they'll see how good they have it here.

(minus those sick cinematic kills, something I wish we had more of.)

I've mentioned this idea before and it always seems to get shot down, but I still don't fully understand why.

if they had an in-game comms system that operated by radius(only able to speak to/hear those close to you) it would fix a lot of the issue.

players couldn't convey information from across the map as easily, they would have to shut up when the killer is nearby (realistic), and it would open comms up for non-swf players as well.

yes there would be toxicity issues, but that's what a mute/report function would be used for.
People claim it'd be too much like F13. Which I disagree with since they're two completely different things, with the whole beating the killer to a pulp aspect...
Voice comms will certainly improve the solo survivor experience. I'd play solo survivor more if I could figure out what SWFs/solo survivors were thinking of doing.
I just don't think killers should hear what survivors are saying. It *might* get overly toxic then.
the only reason I want the killers to be able to hear it is for situations where a survivor accidentally gives up part of their plan because they were too stupid to stop talking when the heartbeat kicks in.

killer comes up on two working on the gens and one says something like, "yea, terry is off looking for the hex totem while we finish this up"
or the killer loses his chase and starts to head back to a gen when he hears a survivor talking nearby, its immersion, the survivor should know to stay quiet when the killer is nearby.

is it vastly significant? no, but its a little detail to the game that I would like.

If the community wasn't so toxic I would love this idea.
don't you think some offerings like this might help alleviate "some" of the toxicity... I would absolutely use this offering, regardless of playing killer or survivor.
  • honestly I've noticed similar issues on xbone... so I doubt it's a hardware issue, though I could be wrong.

other things I often do is to reset my modem before even trying to play dbd. it doesn't always make much of a difference, but sometimes it seems to. (could be a placebo effect.   xD  )
  • The only thing that keeps Hex:Ruin from being OP is the ridiculous totem spawns that are often too close to a survivor spawn.

with that said, I actually do like the idea that each survivor would have their own correlating totem. However, all totems should remain visible to other survivors as well, it would be an altruistic thing.

I'm in a match and realize Hex:Ruin is in play, yes I can look for my totem only and remove my Hex, but it would be a good idea to break any totem I see to help my fellow survivors (which would help me escape too in the long run)

this would further stall the game for the killer and would eliminate "some" of the totem spawn issues.
  • These stats don't support my opinions so the entire thing is flawed and proves nothing.
  • Oh yea, lobby sim DLC is absolutely the best addition to the game.

but, it keeps getting interrupted by games, could we maybe get an extension for the lobby? 15-20 minutes just isn't enough time to twiddle my thumbs a full 6,000 times.
  • just wish you didn't have to be within the killers radius for so long to use it, I'd prefer a cooldown or something. but otherwise I think it's a great perk.

So you want to put a well balanced perk like Noed in the same level as a frickin broken thing like DS?

    Gotcha.

Screw balance, screw logic … survivor need to be protected from nasty surprises, because it's a horror game and that could scare them … #########?

Well balanced enough for you to want to put it in the killers base kit? Sure...whatever you say.

It’s barely a horror game, there is no element of suprise and when you get hit with NOED it isn’t a genuine scare factor. It’s more like “Oh...okay, that just happened for the eighth time tonight.”

I said what I said, I meant what I said and you heard what I said. My stance on NOED and DS has not changed and it probably never will.

The game isn’t balanced on either side. It is PVP, this will never EVER be a true horror experience simply because it is PVP and you can’t have the killers side be incredibly powerful as if it was an AI.

you forgot something. 1 its asymmetrical or should be 2 noed is an hex

the second point invalidates your ds noed comparison. Just imagine hex totems doesn't exist, in that case I would agree

Yes it is asymmetrical and the killer SHOULD have the power role but the killer can’t be untouchable. In a PvP game it’ll never be a true horror game. If they added a single player game mode then maybe it would but I doubt that will happen. I don’t really consider DBD to be a horror game to begin with. I put in it the same boat that I do F13, but extremely great party games to play with friends but when you play it alone you get drained out quickly especially if you take the game too seriously.

Some perks would be way overpowered without it being a hex unless you had competent teammates. Ruin and Devor Hope come to mind easily. Matches would end with five generators left and a four man mori.

It’s just getting old that people are still arguing over DS and NOED. Just saying if they were both gone there would be no complaining. Although killers can’t do without their precious little insta-downs. I would say the same with survivors not being able to do without their free escapes but I don’t see many people stick up for DS nor do I run into it a lot as killer but 80% of the time killers have NOED. It gives bad killers a kill because when there is four survivors left and you insta-down one of them, why would you go and chase the other three? There isn’t any point, you won’t get a four man. The killer killed that ONE person due to an insta-down and that is how MOST of the time NOED works. DS gives bad survivors a free escape. Both perks makes up for the players mistakes.

still people can't understand noed works by survivor mistakes to no cleanse totems. I've lost count of matches where noed didn't worked when practicing nurse. DS just rewards a mistake and cannot be preventing kicking an objective

I always do around 2-3 totems per march and if my mates do the same(lately more often) noed don't even proc.

"It gives a bad killers kills" maybe you should phase it like, punish lazy survivors who just wanna genrush when totems grants bp and boldness. Like, it even gives you points and you still cry about noed when its you fault you won't adapt

I know its a weird word but seriously, adapt. Noed is more frequent? Instead of ignoring totems just cleanse if you see some. Noed is the last perk I have a problems with as survivor and it actually bothers me that people like you cry about it, you know why? Because you guys are the kind of people who won't cleans them when you are in my team, then cry about it.

This sentence really nothers me for these reasons: "Both perks makes up for the players mistakes"
Which is a lie to have an excuse to don't adapt and press one button to 1) prevent a perk 2) free bp 3) free bold points

"free bp" as if ignoring gens to work on totems isn't a terrible idea anyway with the current strategy of camping being prevalent.

even without camping this puts the survivors at a slight disadvantage and potentially wastes time that isn't needed.

but DS which is a ONE TIME USE skill is somehow overpowered?

personally I don't care about either perk, I'll adjust to them as I need... but to hear the killer/survivor mains whining over their respective sides is ridiculous and the comparison between the two perks is annoying.

I'm with the others... remove both so the whining can stop.
first, since when camping is prevalent? Unless you are around rank 20-12 you won't find many campers at all. At least for my experience, never saw it. Just once at rank 6 but that guy got 8k bp, maybe that survivor owned him money, idk

I won't removed either, DS would be great if reworked. I gave even an idea time ago to make it a fun perk for both sides. I'd like to see it like a tool to survive but no like it is right now. Noed, same thing as I said, if you won't cleanse take the blame to yourself. 18s isn't such a big deal especially when people ask for other obj cuz the games are going too fast but ignoring totems (#########?)

I don't main either, i play both even if mostly survivor since its more relaxing and can watch videos while repairing. Just "wasted time that isn't needed", I know you might love gen rush but even if I hate repeat myself, Adapt!

If even a bad evader like me can survive and get rid of noed at the same time doing at least 2 gens per game, anybody can
perhaps the camping issue is different depending on platform. I play on xbox one and I'm rank 10... I have seen camping only get worse as my rank gets higher and I have friends at higher ranks who complain about camping.

and this isn't just an occasional thing... its 3/5 matches easily.
and I can honestly understand camping toxic survivors, its the only time I can condone such a thing... but I am far from a toxic player, I'm not even good enough to annoy them with loops.

I'm the stealthy one that just hopes to go unnoticed.

also, 18s isn't that big of a deal except that its NOT just 18s. there's additional time to be considered when you are looking for the totems and dealing with traps or nearby killers.

Its actually the other way around, unless you are against the nurse.

Killers capitalize to survivors mistakes not the other way around. If a killer play perfectly and a survivor play perfectly, the survivor win. In a 1v1 situation, which is crazy in a 4v1 game. The actual limit you talk about isn't for survivors but for killers since survivors dictate the clock the killer have during the march.

    @scumrrado

You say this as though survivors don't have to capitalize on killers mistakes?
  • if I dodged every lobby that dipped into the red I might as well drop the game... almost all of my games are yellow/orange, dipping into red and then settling back at yellow/orange.

once a night a might get one green game.

Yeah its laughable, noed canbe prevented before it ever happen (happened several games, people are starting to clean more, no only me) and can be countered

DS, especially no obsession one, can be less of an issue if you run enduring, and even that won't matter if the survivor have half of a brain cell and go to the nearest loop.

So yeah, the comparison is laughable. Just the fact you think camping isn't okay I can imagine which side you only play

Even a bad chaser like me (or evader?) Can survive against tunneling and camping just by using stealth. Anybody can, like anybody can take 20s to have extra bp and prevent akiller perk
to be honest I prefer to play killer, and I refuse to camp unless someone is being a salty/trolly little twat... then and only then will I camp.

unfortunately, since I hate waiting 5-15 minutes just to find a game, I end up playing survivor so that I can get more than 2-3 rounds a night after work.

its what bugs me... I have NO issue getting kills as killer without resorting to camping, or many of the more "supposedly unfair" perks, and yet I'm constantly reading about how the game is stacked so unfavorably against killers.

yet for me, a stealthy survivor, thats my ONLY defense against the ridiculous number of campers. don't get caught, even once, or its game over.

The thing with the graph from the stream is its kinda useless because most people in any game DbD included are just bad. Rank 1 people are bad on average too. Maybe disconnects count as kills maybe not (though my guess would be they do) but the only thing to see how balanced a game is is to let the best players on both sides play each other over every map multiple times and see how they perform on average.
To claim that the game is balanced or killers are OP because of average player stats is just simply stupid.

I run into this situation a lot actually where I will running around getting gens done and my team are off somewhere circle-jerking or gods know what... they end up dying and I'm stuck alone, with the killer, blindly fumbling around as quietly as possible, desperately hunting for that damn hatch.

  • 200$ for a skin??? geez, I knew bhvr had gotten greedy, but didn't realize just how bad.
  • so survivors have NO reason to expect to be able to escape. "If you got downed, you deserve to be hooked."

    and looping is apparently toxic...

but if a killer gets you to the hook, they have every right to face camp you...

so... when playing survivor should we just go get some food or something while the killer has their fun??
  • not that I've heard... and with the absolute trainwreck that the latest event was, they won't be getting any cash from me, DLC or otherwise.

    Fun as hell, generally speaking.

There's talks of an end game rework, and a DS rework, and if that happens, this game could go from pretty damn fun, to amazing.

Sit down silly Lisa ....loool Ds rEwOrK

    charming as always.    x.x
  • Other comms need to be limited somehow... this game is not really made for parties to play together with no consequences. (hence it ends up making the game entirely one-sided and not in the way it should be)
  • gotta love the blatantly biased views on here.

just like killers...  "CaMpEiNg Is A lEgIt StRaTeGy"

yea, and being bullied into submission by 4 survivors on comms is just a strategy too.

both "strategies" are trash and take any semblance if fun out of the game.

and before you start, I don't mean "comms are unfair" period... I just don't like the way they are currently in use.

I think it should be open comms heard over a certain distance... I think that would solve a lot of the issues, toxicity be damned.
  • I had no clue I could remap those on xbox... duuuuude.
it'll take a bit to fix the muscle-memory, but I think that will make a big difference for me.  thanks!
(does this change any actions for killer?)
