Never, he shall stay like this FOREVER!!!! >:D
    Until his rework....

    Which is totally coming.

Freddy will be absolutely viable very soon..

As soon as pigs fly (or at least aren't penalized for ambushing)!

And as soon as survivors forget the 100million ways to easily escape dream world...

    Yup...

    It's coming...

  • This is a fun game and the developers do a good job on making cool and fun killers. I love how they made classic killers like Myers and Leatherface fun to play!

Why would you want them to play in rank 1??? Do you hate them? Do you want thrm to forsake the game they designed?

Or do you wish utter hell and frustration on them!I

Please. I do not wish rank 1 play on anyone that hopes to have fun as a killer in this game...

  • Glad survivors have such awesome tools....otherwise game would be too hard for them.

Combine with firecrackers and DS, and those survivors outta have a jolly good time!

    Happy holidays, killers!

Yeah this map is problematic when playing killer. Especially Myers house.

Yes. It's the single most consistently terrible map for killers.

    Spawns don't matter.
    Characters don't matter.
It is just plain terrible for any killer.

Since it is so dramatically one sided, I know that I can look forward to a rework...

...When hell freezes over, Freddy get a review and DS becomes a balanced skill!

I actually like body blocking...don't flame me. I find it useful as killer to block window leaps and sometimes pallets. This use of it is a bit ridiculous....but I even like that survivors can risk doing it too (as frustrating as it is!).

I think, overall, it adds more to the game than takes away. Just like booze....yeah it is terrible how some people abuse it, but do you really want to live WITHOUT it?

They could pretty much prevent this kind of body blocking by making the stairs a little wider, again, I don't mind body blocking if you're waiting a mechanic out BT/Head Traps. But trying to justify 8 minutes of someones time for NOED seems pretty unfair to me.

I agree about the 8 minutes, but i like that the basement can be bodyblocked. It makes it VERY risky to go in there...as it should be.

But again, some people will exploit it.

But then...so does SWF so here we are.

I think it helps a little more. I like to talk with my survivors and ask for tips since I suck as Billy. And as survivor I love to talk with the killer. Mainly about them nodding at me a lot but I still like to talk.

I thought about that before I typed that comment. I have gotten good tips and some fun conversations (non-toxic) but the amount of negativity and toxicity it creates far outweights the positiives.

Dick move, but fair play as far as the rules go.

It's my understanding that as long as it's not a case where he afk's for 20 minutes and never comes back till you all disconnect, then it's bannable. But the fact that he was just using NOED in a rather simplistic but effective matter means he never intended to delay the game - only use his perk.

If that's bannable, then it's bannable for survivors to run around the map another 10 minutes in front of the exit instead of leaving.

    Just saying.

How are you guys so blind to bad killer tactics?

A survivor can't do anything to a body blocking killer, a killer can force survivors out of the gate. You guys really do only see one side it's ridiculous.

Being a bad killer isn't bannable. Bodyblocking in this way is worse for both killer and the survivor than camping, but it didn't break the game, hack or prevent the survivors from progressing the game illegally.

I agree that the only benefit for the killer is frustrating the survivor that was blocked, but we don't know how much of a jerk the survivor may have been before hand (hell, i will waste a game and camp someone who taunts and teabags just for kicks).

And if he didn't taunt the killer....well....that's just a bad killer and if you just play a little later in the evening it will be past his bedtime and his mommy will have put him to bed.

I have no issue with body blocking at all, but it completely prevents another player participating for no other reason than to be a nuisance, that should not be part of the game imo.

  • I use an Alienware.
    16gig RAM, i7 quad
and an older video card...Nvidia 890 or something and it runs flawlessly, as long as my internet provider doesn't cut out....

You probably want at least 8 gs of ram and at least a somewhat decent video card (probably not the newest ones that can run VR though lol).

If you are going to invest in a gaming rig, you are better off popping for a few extra gigs of ram and a nicer video card so you can play other games at the highest setting too.

Otherwise, give it a shot! I used to raid in WoW on my old gradschool laptop on lower setting and it was just fine.

    Just my 2 cents.

This idea that "because he eventually killed you" and "he didn't prolong the match" is exactly why we have little shits like that still running around in the game.

In any other game something like this would immediately be labeled as greifing, no matter how long the time (unless you're playing Rust, in which case you better be prepared to be someone's little prisoner)

The killer could have gotten more kills by hooking the guy, camping the hook and using his noed on another survivor and then camping that hook. Easy 2k, instead of the 1k he got.

While he bodyblocked the basement, the survivors had free reign of of the map. It's in the same vein as camping a hook, only WAAAAY less efficient. Camping a hook at least makes sense because you are getting your kill while taking a survivor out of the match...plus it's only 2 mins.

Bodyblocking in this way is not a good strategy unless you are solely trying to frustrate that survivor. And if the survivor wasn't taunting the killer, then it is truly a dick move.

But we also don't know what happened pre-bodyblock! Maybe this survivor was teabagging and taunting...in which case, the in-game response makes sense.

If that's true, then that kinda pisses me off, some people ruin games and think it's hilarious. What a let down

Yeah it's a pretty ######### way to play and in the end he only got the 1k, so I would consider it a survivor win, but it sucks for the person being body blocked (you).

Even if he would have camped you right away you could have gotten into another match and been playing again.

  • It's holiday break so all the babies' parents let them stay up later playing video games because they're off school.

It should get a little better once they go back. It's always pretty bad, but I find it gets a lot worse when schools are out.

  • It's holiday break in the US so the kids are off school. Since mid Dec I have seen a HUGE increase in those toxic squads.

I usually play later in the evening so I was seeing fewer of them...but goddamn...I can't wait for schools to get back in session.

Why do you think nobody has heard of Dead by Daylight this long after its inception?

Why do you think so many other games are trying to copy the format but just can't get it right?

Why do games like warframe, heroes of the storm, lol, red dead, hell....even crap like Destiny...make a crap ton of money?

    Polish and balance.

I love playing this game and think it is very fun, but dealing with adolescent drama after/during each match just isn't worth it. There is a world of more polished games out there begging for your money where I don't have to deal with childish goobers.

Thee developers get my money. And I spend that crap ton on them, not dbd.

  • His stalk gets janky at times, especially over low objects like in metal works..it's hit or miss.

I wish it was more consistent.

They just need to erase the cap too. What purpose does that serve? I mean, besides giving survivors another tool to drain my patience?

  • Yeah, at this point I truly believe 99% of this player base is made of immature 12 year olds without a daddy.

I should actually keep a tally over the next 100 trials how many players leave immature/harassing comments....except I know what the result would be.

Sorry, I think my comment was misleading the way I wrote it. You are correct that she has never had 3rd person point of view when crouching. ☺

It just makes sense for the camera to pull out to third person when she crouches. It would make visibility much easier. I'm not sure why they didn't design her that way.

Lol listen to all the survivors.... "NO!!!How can we instantly nullify it if it's not a hex!?"

hex perks suck at the moment. NOED and dh would likely be overpowered if they were normal perks, but as hexes, they are almost useless against good survivors.

Hexes need to be gone completely and their perks need to be rebalance to be useful at higher ranks.

    or totems need a revamp.

while i agree, to be fair, Haunted Ground can put those same survivors on some pretty easy hooks early in the game, even if its just yet another layer of luck you need. :)

Yeah, that's a good point. NOED works well for me with an end game doc strategy, but I don't use it at higher ranks on anyone else since there are some other really good perks.

I also hate to take up a perk slot with something to play off a survivor's ability to pop my totems. It just seems like I am solving a problem that shouldn't exist in the first place. I just wish they would rework totems.

For NOED though, it could be a perk that activates its charges once gates are open, but only give you one or two insta-downs/charges before it gets "used up". When it comes in handy, that is usually all I need anyway. I can't remember a time when I got any more than two insta-downs with it before it was either a 4k, it got cleansed or everyone left.

Just one example...I am sure they could come up with something for DH too...

Playing in a way that is frustrating to the opposition is as old as the concept of opposition iteslf, yet how some survivors get so triggered by me standing by their hook for 2 mins that they call me racial slurs and tell me to kill my self is beyond me.

While playing in away that's frustrating to the opposition is quite old, teabagging the killer is not in anyway comparable to hook camping.

You can chase that person and down them, the person on the hook can't unhook themselves even with Deliverance because you'll just down them again.

Also slurs and other insults don't require just one specific trigger, I've been called many things playing both sides just because I outplayed the other side.

I mentioned it before in this thread but it is a ways after the comment you are responding to, but teabagging, at surface value, is not equivalent to camping, but when you consider how it is intended, it comes with an inherent connotation.

It is akin to me walking into a biker bar and walking up to the drunkest, meanest person and giving him the finger and saying **** you mother****!...then being surprised when he punches me in the face. I didn't directly control his actions to punch me, but I knew the likely consequences of my own.

People that teabag in order to taunt or incite know full well that it upsets most people and there might be retaliation in the form of tunneling and camping.

Why do you think the person designated as a "distractor" in a SWF groups is usually the one who is best at juking, equipped with a flashlight and teabags the killer?

  • I have enjoyed their original killers more. I love Myers but the rest are just too fun and I hope for more.

In game taunting has existed forever. Camping is an in game frustrating action, but the survivor can choose what he types post game or decide to simply pop into another game.

Same as killer chasing a teabagger.

Yea, don't see how they are comparable, in both situations the killer holds all the cards on what's going to happen, you can easily hit the unhooker and hit them again before the action is complete and have someone else to camp.

You're really grasping at straws here now.

Not really. The survivor chooses to.foolishly rush the hook.when the killer is close by when they could be doing something more productive.

The survivor also chooses to perform a teabag, knowing full well the likely impression it makes (taunt).

Yes the killer chooses to camp, but a survivor chose to teabag (often times doing so when he feels safe), knowing the consequences.

The killer controls the action but the survivor doesn't live in a vacuum. He chose the action in the hopes of inciting the killer.

I am not sure you know what "grasping at straws means" or maybe you are not able to understand how certain actions have consequences (it would be like a person walking into a bar with a short that says "punch me ***hole!)...there are certain expected consequences for this.

I think I worte about it in the past. But I guess you just lack empathy then ...
Tbagging is an act on active disrespect, right in front of a person, who during match is under constant stress with almost no calming phases compared to the other 4 they face.
It's probably one the main reasons, why DbD always had a form of "bullying simulator" problem in it's core design. Survivors have enough safe spaces to actively disrespect the killer without any direct consequences. They do it in situations, when the killer is most likely stressed right now, which means it will most likely work. And when it works it starts a spiral of frustration for the killer, because they get more unstable -> more mistakes beeing made -> more opportunity to Tbag and disrespect -> etc.
You might not experience such games by yourself. Maybe because you don't care about that, when you play killer. Or maybe because you are more mentaly stable. But I would argue that the average player, or an average human beeing is vulnerable.
And the argument it's a video game is actually quite fitting. When you play a video game you expect at least to be in a form of a safe space. One where you experienced stress in an controlled manner. And I know online gaming can be toxic and frustrating, but when it's crossing the line of active humilation, then yey there is an issue.
Especially in asymmetrical game, where the amount of stress is highly different for each side.

    Lack empathy? Good god.

I T-Bag when a killer is camping to see if it'll get them to chase me so my random team mate has a chance of getting points, this is a video game, tbagging has been in every game with a crouch button for 15 years and I've never seen so many people crying about it, it ACTUALLY has a use in this game because some killers get so upset by it that they'll stop camping someone to get the person that's going it.

If you're vulnerable and things such as crouching rapidly are going to trigger you, you should step away from the game and take the proper measures to sort your life out. If tbagging is the reason you want to cry at night YOU NEED A BREAK.

Yada yada safe spaces in games where you literally murder people, tbagging is the least awful thing in this game and I'll reiterate, if tbagging is so harmful to your mental state you need to seek a professional.

Camping is comparable because survivors have a choice to rush the hook or try to teabag/taunt the killer to chase (as you mentioned you do).

In game taunting has existed forever. Camping is an in game frustrating action, but the survivor can choose what he types post game or decide to simply pop into another game.

Same as killer chasing a teabagger.

Playing in a way that is frustrating to the opposition is as old as the concept of opposition iteslf, yet how some survivors get so triggered by me standing by their hook for 2 mins that they call me racial slurs and tell me to kill my self is beyond me.

I by no means condone that though so, ok? Racial slurs are a bannable offence, tbagging is not, so comparing them is silly.

But here we are, once again - having a pissing contest about who is worse when both sides are just as bad as each other.

and camping is super boring anyway so I very rarely ever get attacked for such gameplay.

It's not much of a contest...

But to the point: tbagging is not bannable. Neither is camping, yet both result in someone getting triggered and spouting off post game chat. So they are comparable.

Both are forms of in game taunting and frustrating your opposition. Both are just pixels, but generate very real frustration (probably too much frustration for some folks).

Before the argument that camping has in-game consequences, I will point out that so does teabagging. Some people teabag to taunt the killer to chase while teammates pop objectives. Some people camp to hit survivors when they rush the hook.I

Neither side really HAS to take the bait OR get triggered...And yet...some do.

  • I get "gg EZ" whether 1,2 or 3 escape.

    If it's a 4k it's "baby killer go ######### camper you f****ing n*****"

it honestly blows my mind how that's allowed.

Jeez, that's brilliant (not being sarcastic), thank you!

    The list is pretty disingenuous.

    * removed the ability to be able to use items that belonged to other killers (i.e. myers with a chainsaw etc.)*
    * removed the killer's ability to be able to fly*
    * removed the ability to be able to earn bloodpoints from hitting a survivor that is on a hook*
    * Removed the ability to be able to reduce the effects from wiggling by hitting a wall while carrying a survivor*

    Yes "Nerfs".

It doesn't help the fact that there's so many weak-hearted players who get upset by tbagging or flashlights. I've never know a game where people complain so much about tbagging, it's been a thing for like 15+ years, why is everyone so easily offended now-a-days.

Game is pretty easy on both sides, and I'll continue to argue that the majority of the issues aren't mechanic related but are player related, in that people think they're better than they actually are, and when they come across a survivor or a killer that is better than them they blame mechanics for all their issues and say the game is unfair.

Here we go again with you assuming every survivor tbags for absolutely no reason @SenzuDuck . Ofc a survivor tbags for a reason, sometimes it's meant as an insult and others times it's meant as a compliment. It really depends on the context clues on the situation but saying it's childish for someone to get offended by a tbag is not fair. :/

I agree with this statement but... If I can't do well with Freddy, Legion, Leather Face, and other weak killers then was it truly me being bad?

No where do I say survivors tbag for no reason? It’s been a thing for a 15 years in gaming and no community that I’ve been a part of has cried so much about it. It’s pretty clear why players do it when you come to the forums and see people wanting tbagging to result in things like insta downs. How the hell anyone can get upset by a character model moving up and down is beyond me.

Playing in a way that is frustrating to the opposition is as old as the concept of opposition iteslf, yet how some survivors get so triggered by me standing by their hook for 2 mins that they call me racial slurs and tell me to kill my self is beyond me.

  • If we are farming, I take is as they want me to down and hook them so their partners can unhook. If I get a good group, they usually rotate through one another.

If there is no farm and the survivor is juking or pallet stuns me ,then points, it's probably meant as a taunt, in which case I tunnel and camp. Post game chat usually validates that response because those are the ones that follow up with racial slurs or commands for me to commit suicide.
