  • My issue with the totems isn't necessarily the spawn location (some are better than others) but that they are SOOOOO easy to spot.

Then once they are activated...it's way too easy to spot and cleanse. They need to revamp the whole totem idea.

  • It's a shame, but I remember BHVR staff, on multiple occasions, saying they don't mean for every killer to be viable at high ranks (one said it just a few days ago about Doctor).

It's really a shame because you are absolutely right, against newer players, he does well, but against top tier survivors he just can't get the sacrifices.

Lemme guess. You run in an swf group?

Swfs aren't fun to play against most times. Doesn't matter if you dodge or not, others can, and will.

Blame the survivors, too. The sweaty, the toxic, and people abusing chat. They want easy games, too.
Survivors depip, have mixed rank swf, and often use third party chat for an edge the game is not balanced around.

Yes, i play with friends most of the time. I have multiple people lower than rank 10. We play the game respectfully, no one uses DS and we don't T bag killers. We don't exploit and will only be toxic to toxic killers who camp or have 100% tunnel vision.

Most of my games vs swf i win, and i win quickly. Most of the swf are having fun and are playing with me when they see that they have a little chance to win.

People who are scared of swf only share their worst experiences. Other people get scared too because of some whiny dude who got blindes with a flashlight once. And now PS4 is just a lobby dodging wasteland.

Honestly, i just keep running into mixed rank SWFs that have no business vsing me. Full colors above me.
99 out of 100 are the worst sorts of experiences.
Mixed rank, toxic, utterly ruthless. Generally just being zero fun as opponents.

Like I said, blame the overwhelming amount of SWFs that ruined it for everyone.
If most SWF groups were like the way you describe yours, they might not get dodged as much.
I'm just not fond of gambling on SWFs, and a lot of people feel the same way.

It's easy for red ranks to talk a big game, but they aren't in the shoes of the low ranks usually getting stomped.

Yes. And even if they aren't being "toxic", they are still exploiting a feature that creates a vast imbalance: communication.

Even the most well intentioned swf group is likely abusing the game.

  • If this game ever turns anime (like Blizzard is doing), ill eat my computer.

  • Currently, there is no killer equivalent to DS.

Equivalent would be: hit a skill check to instantly replace a survivor in the hook after he escapes.

  • Looks like you just have to learn how to not get hooked!

  • This community is the worst.

You will get the most toxic trash talk.whether you win or lose.

Crazy, ridiculous and borderline illegal stuff like death threats and wishes for your family to die...it's pretty obnoxious.

It is just the way our world is...too many entitled babies with no parents to discipline them and teach them how to treat other human beings. For some reason, this game is the flame to those moths.

Just rest easy knowing they are all too immature to ever say it to your face and feel bad for them because they are triggered over.this game. Imagine what their life must be like!

Boy, this thread takes me back. I never did get around to posting when it first came up so I guess I might as well do it now.

I think the skill check thing is interesting, but I think it would have to be simplified in some way. I'm confused just reading it and I spend most of my day watching, playing, reading about and working behind the scenes on this game. I can only imagine how confusing it could be for newer players. Personally, I'd rather see less skill checks though and have it be a guaranteed thing instead. Skill checks have a minimal effect on higher end players while the newest players struggle. The other thing that concerns me here is how madness skill checks replace regular skill checks. How exactly would this work with ruin? If it replaces the generator skill check 50%/75% of the time, wouldn't that actually be better for the survivors than a normal ruin skill check?

The one thing I really don't think would work is the shock changes. Moving around at 4.6m/s with a one second charge time would basically completely remove windows and pallets while playing against him unless they somehow miss their shock. A one second charge with a one second cooldown means that every 2 seconds, you disable windows/pallets for 2.5 seconds. That gives you half a second after the last shock ends to start charging the next one (pretty easy to do, you'd have to be crazy slow to miss that window). You'd have a 4.6m/s killer whose power is basically to remove all counterplay. It wouldn't really be fun to play with or against, it would just turn into a mindless exercise.

I don't think he should be too powerful in a chase. What he lacks in chase power he makes up for in utility (stalling the game, finding survivors). I know it's not exactly a popular opinion around here, but he's one of the ones I feel don't need to be viable at all ranks. I view the doctor as a great stepping stone killer. He's great for newer players that struggle to find survivors, but someone who knows what they're doing will probably want to play a killer with more chase power. That's not to say that I wouldn't want to see a buff, but I definitely don't think he should become just another chase killer. I'd rather he maintain his utility role than have him lose that and become more generic.

I love his play style and utility. He is very fun to play but when members of behavior staff mention that they don't want a certain killer to be viable at all ranks, it makes me seriously reconsider my next killer purchase.

Call me crazy, but I want any killer I purchase/play to be viable at all ranks, even with various play styles. That may be an unrealistic wish for this game and it's budget.

Which is too bad, because if all killers were viable at any rank (given various degrees of difficulty) my wallet would be very open.

Just a QoL idea to save time. Would only trigger if no hatch spawned cuz It's a real time waste if you lose the slug and there is no hatch spawned anyway. To workaround unbreakable I had in mind a timer before the deerstalker kicks in.
    Thoughts?

I get what you are saying and nobody wins anything of the last survivor bleeds out. Makes sense actually. Survivors may want something in return, (hatch aura glows for.instance, but it's not applicable since hatch isn't open)

Basically we get an aura to help us hook but the downed survivor doesn't have any advantage to crawling out, so I understand that side too.

Sped up bleeding timer seems to be the best option, though it might reduce 3rd down slugging.

  • I like the doctor buffs and I like the idea of making madness and shock therapy more of a nuisance.

As a tradeoff, after snapping out of it, there should be a period of time (30 sec? 60 sec?) of immunity from shock therapy and his radius.

Otherwise, I do like the changes. Right now, he is very good against low rank survivors but against high ranks, it results in a 3 gen patience challenge that can become very tedious for all parties.

Then again, he is one of the few killers I run NOED with because by the time it pops, there are usually maybe 2 survivors left and I can usually get the first down before it gets cleansed.

  • He might have just been screwing around.

Sometimes I enter a game and completely eff around....target practice with huntress hatchets or practice nurse blinks.

Without fail, I will get some goober survivor in post game chat say "gg EZ"....

    ...lol no s***, Sherlock.

  • Nerf nurse by buffing every other killer.

  • If survivors were actually scared to be around the killers.

  • Nurse if you are drinking.

    Hillbilly if not drinking.

  • In fairness, this is the official forum for a for-profit business. They can pretty much delete or edit whatever they feel and however they see fit, and we agree to it by using their forum.

There are plenty of other sites that are neutral.

Depending on where you are, I suggest playing a little later in the evening if possible. You usually get better players (more try hards, but that might be good if you are playing survivor) but usually the more mature games I have out number the immature ones I see. If you play during the afterschool but before bed-time hours... lol good luck. It's a crapshoot on what you get.

What I never said anything about teabagging at gates, I never said anything about using Adrenaline to counter NOED.

My point is, to killers, don't camp someone and be so surprised when a survivor is toxic to you, I mean this guy literally said "toxic prick I wish I camped you"'. I fell off my chair laughing. Also I got a question, why do you both protect NOED but both of you want Adrenaline gone @Attackfrog and @Tzeentchling9 , they're both counterparts and are equally crutch and tryhard. I'm pretty sure I've seen both of you say how overpowered Adrenaline is at some point. This logic here baffles me. The only reasonable answer would be, you both run NOED. Because I run Adrenaline and I don't see how it needs a nerf, yet I agree DS needs a nerf and NOED does. So you both either run it, or you're contradicting yourselves.

And vice-vesra: Don't be toxic to killers and be surprised when they camp. I love catching teabaggers and then sitting there watching, just imagining how sweaty they are getting because I hooked them, placed my killer in front of the hook so I could hold my taco bell chalupa in one hand and my beer in the other.

Yeah I hate being toxic to killers and I'm not surprised if they camp me when I am. I'm glad you at least understand what I mean when I say the guy was so mad that I was toxic when he literally played that whole game in a toxic way. Don't worry though, I'm one of those survivors who only turns toxic when a killer is. I'm also only toxic as killer when survivors are :). Teabaggers suck, they just ruin peoples days, I only teabag if a killer does something to me or my team that made me mad.

Also what's this for a build, Wraith with his terror radius addon and purple windstorm with Insidious, Iron grasp, Agitation and Eduring. Cloak at basement when u hook them in there, and bodyblock it, since you're running the terror radius addon, they won't think ur there. Sounds like the best troll build.

Yes, that is a VERY good troll build! Well done! Sometimes I take NOED on Myers (LOL) and facecamp if I am facing toxic survivors...but then again, if they are getting facecamped and 1 shot after the exit gates open, and they aren't even bothering to look for the totem whle I plant my pale face at the hook...they kind of deserve it lol!

Sometimes you just have to laugh at how triggered some folks get. I definitely get frustrated sometimes, but damn, telling people to get cancer or kill themselves is just bonkers. I usually LOL pretty hard...but then I think "what must their life be like that they are getting this triggered and volatile over this game?".

Then I feel sad for them...

Then I finish my chalupa and all is right with the world again.

There's an even better possible reason, they get tired of seeing the same whiny rant threads by the same vocal minority day in and day out from both sides. I know logic isn't very favorable to the heavily biased posters on either side but it can be useful.

By that "logic": some people still enjoy reading rant threads regarding rant threads posted by someone who is clearly posting because they got beat in game and come the forums all hot n sweaty.

1.-1 killer camps the survivor while the other hunts (bad)

No different than camping now. Even with 1 killer hunting, they are still 5+ survivors roaming, which is actually better odds for survivor than current game (5vs1 as opposed to the current 4vs1). when you look at it like that, I would think survivors would PREFER this mode..

2.-2 killers goes to attack or corner a very good survivor (bad)

Same as a killer tunneling 1 survivor in current game. Currently, tunneling 1 survivor leaves 3 free to roam. If BOTH killers are tunneling just 1 survivor, this, again, leaves 5+ survivors to freely roam the map. I am not sure how this is bad for survivors since it actually leaves better ratio than the current game.

3.-perks of the killers will be insane an example nurse and legion or trapper hag or spirit doctor
    etc.

Perks would have to be reworked, but then again, so would many survivor perks. They would likely have to do an entire revamp of how and which perks would affect the team or have single survivor/killer effect.

Tl;dr - aside from the work involved in reworking the maps and perks, I am not seeing a downside.

  • NOED. It's easy enough for survivors to cleanse at higher ranks so you hate to waste a perk slot on it but every once in a while it just works out so perfectly.

As much as I think the 8v2 game mode would be interesting I just feel like it would be much of the same.

One idea I'm in the process of working on is 4v2v4 where two teams of survivors work against one another to be the one team allowed to escape due to limited resources all the while two killers are out there to eliminate them.

Another great idea!! I agree with you on the idea that it would be the same. You’re idea would be so much fun! ✨😄

I think the 4v2v4 would be a great idea. It would be fun if the killers couldn't tell who was on which team, but the survivors (obviously) could (maybe a glow similar to the killer's red stain that only survivors could see).

    Imagine the post game salt!

  • Sounds like a typical 4 k.

  • I am all for it, and despite a few survivors saying it could never work (likely out of fear of killers utilizing the same tools as survivors: verbal.communicarion) it is viable and feasible but would require a few game tweaks for that mode.

You wouldn't need 8 survivors. Six would probably work.

You would have to add an exit gate and probab!y a few gens.

You would have to limit certain perks and adjust them accordingly (ie some perks would have to affect the "team", both for killer and survivor).

With dedicated servers, the chief complaint of lag is off the table and it becomes feasible.

Tl;dr: yes. It actually could work and there are plenty of folks who want it and I believe it may be coming, despite the vocal few who will try to shoot it down.

  • How about Disney as killer.

    Once-fun-franchises as survivor.

So the story here is that this person was playing nurse on badham with 5 blinks, NOED and an ebony mori. She could barely land a blink and even when she did hit us she would lose us a second later. When the game was over i proceeded to say how toxic and sweaty that whole match was and he said that it was his "3rd time playing nurse" which i don't know to be true because his profile was private. This man then proceeded to go ballistic after we were telling him how bad he was for playing something he knew would not work. First off, you don't need 5 blinks to hit someone, that is your own fault for thinking that you can.

So now i have to go and report this player after he has made it personal with me. Insulting me, telling me to commit suicide and even making fun of my sexuality saying very personal stuff which you can read in the screenshots. Now, i will say i showed one part of his name to prove that this wasn't me that said these things, and i copied the link to his profile and as soon as i finish up here will be writing the report.

But i just want to say something, This community acts like babies fighting over a piece of candy. You have one side complaining about loops and getting gen-rushed, and you have another side getting mad because of players using toxic addons to either make the game faster or just because they can. There are no rules to this game no "tunneling", no "camping" none of it. Those are just terms made up terms by famous streamers who are survivor mains (You know who you are) something needs to be done about this. If you're wondering why i am writing this, it's because people like the guy who said these things to me are still in the game, and will continue to say these things unless it is not brought to the attention of this so called "Community". (because this damn place is like a prison ruled by prison guards who riot all the time)

I also would like a mod to contact me on steam to let me know when action has been taken care of with this player. Because i don't even trust the people that wear the title of mod.

Sounds like you all should be banned. Players like you are the reason this player base is the worst I have seen in a very long time.

Ah, I get that complaint a lot.

    TL;DR
This perk helps you generate anti-gen rush skillchecks when you are in a chase. When you kick a pallet, every survivor will receive Overcharge on their next skillcheck. If you break your second pallet and a survivor hasn't received a skillcheck yet, they won't stack. So now imagine, you are in a chase and he keeps breaking the pallets, at some point he might switch to someone one a generator who'll start running towards a totem for example in order to destroy the Hex: Ruin totem or another Hex: Devour Hope. They cannot see that they have the exposed status effect on them when running towards the totem but they do have some extra movement speed. Since I don't trust you I won't tell you how much exactly. Then if the killer hits a survivor for example, they will be downed instantly. If they have a decisive you aren't as hurt by it because they'll bleed out 50% faster so you can keep breaking pallets and give other people Overcharge skillchecks. They want to be healed by a teammate, but you don't want that to happen so they are punished if you manage interrupt them. Your token increases by 1 and you gain Pi extra successful attack cooldown. You can use this for when they hit another overcharge skillcheck, it will help you get them more easily and you might even be able to get multiple people at once. Now when you have 6 stacks, only then will you get an extra benefit, giving a higher penalty for failed skillchecks (+10% for a grand total of 20% for failing an overcharge skillcheck) and to help your grind a bit, you receive 10% extra bloodpoint gains in the Deviousness category.

If you want to, you can use this perk on the spirit. She is the only killer that has access to the spirit world. That's why this perk is so strong on her, but maybe also a wraith?

I think the perk isn't really hard to understand. People just need some time playing with it. It's a high risk, high reward perk.

Lol your "tl;dr" is longer than the original!

No I get it though and it makes sense but it is definitely a multi-tiered perk that starts based around kicking pallets (if I am reading it correctly). It seems very specifically situational (though some perks are). I don't find my self breaking all that many pallets (unless playing doctor) in game...MAYBE 3 pallets all game. It just seems like a lot of tiers to get to the quicker bleed out and quicker down...resulting in the BP gain tokens.

  • I like it. I didn't read it (too long) but I know I like it.

  • Criteria for camping:
    -if exit gates are open
    -if 1 gen remains
    -if 2 gens remain
    -if 3 gens remain
    -if 4 gens remain
-if more than 1 survivor remains
-if at least 1 or more of the above is true

  • Only bad killers tunnel because if you're tunneling, you're not camping right.

  • I take it back....when I am HAMMERED I do well with nurse.

The booze numbs my brain and I just go off reflexes maybe...stop thinking and let my mouse and keyboard do the work lol

    Juke and loop.
Zig zag when she raises the hatchet

Killers have PLENTY of OP and BS stuff they can do. Maybe try actually playing survivor and you will see their stuff isn't actually that strong. The only legit complaint is DS because 4 people can use it. But when just the obsession has it, it's completely fine because you can play around it.

Pretty sure it is, you’re supposed to work together to fix gens, there’s literal perks to help boost everyone else’s repair/open/search speed. There’s borrowed time allowing someone to have a chance to escape the killers. You can save people off the hook which they normally cant do alone. You can stun the killer to make them
drop another player. Literally it’s a team game, you all have to work together if you all want to escape.

I believe developers have mentioned that they want survivors to have the option to work together, but there is also the option to screw over your teammates and escape.

Teamwork and coordination tends to work much better, obciously, which is why we have the imbalance of survive with friends.

But any survivor can play in an every-man-for-himself way or altruistic fashion.

But of course since all those things possibly can't go wrong for the survivors it's obviously the devs wanting to make thing easier for survivors. It's not as if there isn't any good or smart killers out there who can avoid the blind or bait it into being used.
